Stupidest question of all: are there like, fancy worms or are they all just Worms ? Would you post some unusual ones if there are Any?

There are some really cool flatworms! I posted one here. But in terms of like…land annelids, like earthworms, I can’t think of anything that’s super fancy. I do love giant earthworms! I posted one here a while back.

Magnolia sieboldii subsp. sieboldii (Korean mountain magnolia)

This early summer flowering magnolia is a late bloomer compared to most of the ornamental magnolias in my neighborhood. The petals open to reveal this amazing structure with a yellowish pistil and pinkish, light-purple stamens. This is a mountain plant and can survive temperatures as low as -30 Celsius (-22 F), far hardier than your typical magnolia. The southern magnolia, Magnolia Grandiflora, is the state flower of Mississippi and likes it hot and moist, whereas this species, Magnolia sieboldii is the national flower of North Korea. Why, I bet old Kim Il Sung himself had one growing in his back garden.

a more detailed look on cure ripple aka lancelot du lac! some design notes below:

ripple is inspired by dragonflies and water lilies, and his season is summer. to be more specific, he takes after the golden-ringed dragonfly (anotogaster sieboldii).

true to the arthurian knight motif, ripples design is loosely based on a fantasy knight, with the water lily chestpiece and the transluscent cape giving him a princely feel. the bare shoulders, trousers and boots represent lancelots own, more casual style.

overall, ripples outfit is more streamlined to evoke a dragonfly's elongated body, emphasized by the single braid, long gloves and the flowy vest. the water lilies on his gloves and shoes add a little extra pop.

i want to give him the image of a sunlit lake in the forest, with the gold accents and his golden hair representing sunlight, and the darker blue parts representing the water. this also ties to both his flower and insects aquatic nature.

lil notes on ripples fighting style:

even within the team, cure ripple has outstandingly high mobility and speed, darting in and out of the enemies' range with ease. he excels at locking on to the enemys weak spots, and can mess up their movements with his light mirages before quickly striking them down. ripples attacks heavily incorporate kicking moves and are as rapid as they are powerful, but it often leaves him open to counterattacks.

A fern that thrives in a sheltered location Dryopteris sieboldii (Siebold's wood fern, Asian wood fern) is an evergreen with a short-creeping rhizome and bold, leathery, bluish-green fronds with only a few segments. Ideally a moist, humus-rich soil is required in partial shade.

It grows in forests and grows to about one meter in height. This one was still very small and there were other large flowers in bloom around. But I chose this one because it was in a dark place, only the flowers were bathed in light and looked as if they were 線香花火[Senkō hanabi](Sparkler.) 線香[Senkō] means incense stick and 花火[Hanabi] means fireworks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMtdPmzl-lo

Sooo I'm sure this could've been talked about before but I wanted to analyse the flowers that appear in mika's demon world

Now they are only present in two panels, but both times they're in the foreground— which could either mean they're intentionally framed to be an object of focus, or just an artistic decision for composition depth.

For the plant itself, it's pretty obvious to me as a type of candelabra primula based on the tall stems and layered appearance. Which makes sense, they are native to parts of China and Japan, specifically damp environments

The thing is, I'm not sure if they're going for a specific kind of primrose, but if I were to narrow it down, I believe the Japanese Primrose holds the most resemblance. Specifically primula japonica, not primula sieboldii. Even though they share the same common name, sieboldii does not grow in the same tier-like way

Unfortunately, trying to find meaning for this specific flower is difficult. Because of how the common name is shared with the sieboldii, information gets confusing. The Japanese name for the sieboldii is Sakurasou, and the Japanese name for the japonica is Kurinsou, which helps with the distinction. However, it also makes it much more apparent how little info there is on the Kurinsou!! Kinda frustrating, but I am determined to find the meaning to these flowers..

Thanks to a little help from the hanakotoba (japanese language for flowers) and from various other cultural interpretations, the general primrose primarily symbolizes both youth (specifically young, sacrificial love) and new beginnings (renewal & optimism).

Now, I want to point out something. This is the entry in the hanakotoba for a generic primrose:

"I can't live without you" oh wow okay man. Surely this has no relation to mika's character

I also found this reference cool in relation to demon mika

"'the primrose path' implies the thoughtless pursuit of pleasure,"

Additionally, due to its Latin name "primula" coming from the word "primus" it has associations with the word "first"— indicative that they're one of the first to bloom in early spring. Other but not as prominent meanings for primroses include resilience, femininity, and the transient nature of life (birth & death.)

Anyway, it doesn't really add anything to the story, more than likely just reinforces already laid-out points of his character, but I thought it was fun to seek out nonetheless! Thanks for reading, and I'd love to hear anyone else's interpretations/additions since i've never done this before and I could be very wrong about things haha ^^;
