Fun Fax: OLM Chapter 5

this chapter was incredibly difficult to get right, because while a lot of this story is re-treading already known ground, i didn’t want to have to hoist all the info we already know on the reader, even tho Lee doesnt know it. tried to have a good balance of brevity and getting the needed detail across

Lee is actually the hardest one for me to write out of the 3 POVs we have atm, i find it a little harder to get into his head. or at least, get his behaviors right, since hes not no-nonsense and grumpy like the other two (can) be. im just praying i write him close enough to correct that people like what i do with him lol

setting description is one of my most detested areas of writing, so if the mansion’s description seems a little sparse its because it is sdhfjk. plz do let me know if you think i should attempt to flesh that kinda thing out more! same with outfits 💀

i found the “You like it?”, “No” exchange very funny so i absolutely had to include it. like bruh why say anything at all 😭

i dont know ANYTHING abt how large house staff works, Edward exists but i got no idea what to do with him 💀 he and other staff wont be mentioned (by name) much but i do have to do a little additional research sdfjk

clearly, ive got a LOT of headcanons on how Kaz and Lee’s childhood was like, certain events that happened, etc. in fact, part of me wants to do a prequel oneshot collection with them, if i ever feel like writing some of the larger events down. we gon be getting a lot more on their dynamic and why it is the way it is in coming chapters ;)

not a whole lot to say on this chapter development wise, since it did go largely to plan, but i will say that the events of NEXT chapter were ALSO supposed to be included in this one originally - i am just so long winded i cant ever manage to get everything done as quick as i want it to without having GINORMOUS chapters, which honestly, i may start considering dshfjk. 7-8000 word chapters may not be uncommon in this fic soon enough 😬
