Unfinished portrait of former Warden-Commander Miriam Amell, Arlessa of Amaranthine and Hero of the Fifth Blight
“When Miriam Amell became Arlessa of Amaranthine after the Fifth Blight, she officially sat for two portraits - a formal portrait of the arlessa was originally intended to hang in Vigil’s Keep itself, but it disappeared after the skirmish and hasn’t been seen since.
“A second portrait was commissioned to commemorate her as the Hero of Ferelden and her promotion to Warden-Commander, but it’s also gone missing in recent years from its place in Vigil’s Keep. Some suspect it may have been the replacement Warden-Commander that had it removed in later 9:40 Dragon, but there’s no evidence to support that claim.
“There is however, a third, unofficial portrait the artist only partially finished that hangs in Redcliffe Castle. Arl Teagan claims that it was roughed out in-between sessions for the formal portrait of the Arlessa, when the artist noticed Miriam reading before she was formally summoned.
“Rumour among servants in Redcliffe Castle suggests that the unfinished portrait is actually located in the Arl’s study, though none have stepped forward to confirm it. It’s no secret that Arl Teagan himself was once quite smitten with the woman however, and in all likeliness he simply keeps it as a way to remember her by.”
This is inspired by (pose and prop) the painting ‘Reflections’ by Ethel Porter Bailey btw!
