i so desperately feel that the last thing eurydice ever said to emet before dying was "i hate you." he had a lot to be angry about.

and i think, barring the bit at the very tail end of endwalker, this is the last thing pfeil says to emet before emet dies, too. because if eury had a lot to be angry about, pfeil REALLY has a lot to be angry about.

the thing is both of them meant it and really did hate him but they both still loved him. eury at least died before he had a lot of time to regret it but pfeil had to sit with that for a long, long time. and pfeil loved emet so much and was so guilty over his death that when emet died he was nearly driven to suicide. like imagine feeling like that about someone but the last thing you ever said to them was "i hate you." christ

I think confessing definitely adds a different dimension for Beth (there's uh, a lot of variables getting tracked for what was said and when, or what was unspoken)
