k.h si lore time again:
I've always kind of had the idea that xal.din was the one that recruited my si into the org.
maybe it was messy as hell, because at this point the si was at their lowest point. the essence of him pulling them from the muck. perhaps it escalated into a fight, a come with me if you lose kinda situation.
(and they do join, it's a mix of resignation and acceptance, but wary still, giving a false name and so on.)
and despite or because the foundation of their dynamic, there is an edge of "well you made me be here, make it worth it" from the si and him developing a fondness for them, despite himself.
aka it shifts into mix of friends that refuse to actually call each other that and some form of mentor dynamic, despite or because of their personalities.
but of course it eventually goes wrong, the si questions to much and doesn't like what the org is making them into, and the like.
cue the fake death and escape.
I always kind of went with the idea that someone else would've helped the si with that plan (like lux.ord or xig.bar even).
but with how those two would've bonded, I can see him trying to give them a chance of life elsewhere. and they take it, not telling him their full plans.
and when they do eventually return, to bring the org down, he doesn't take it well.
a mix of just not caring for traitors in a seemingly incredibly personal way, mixed with his disbelief in their abilities and anger at them returning ("I gave you a chance and you threw it away") and knowing they are back at full destructive behavior, just a new form.
#no idea if this makes sense#but i suddenly got gripped by this dynamic (and how i can improve it)#si lore: k.h edition#there's more to it all but i wanted to get this bit down first

also I do love the flavor of ax.el and my si's dynamic in k.h c.om.
the essence of using each other (and later temporarily teaming up), the I'll deal with you later, coupled with them being a spanner in the works for him.
and the contrasting views on taking out the other members is another thing too. it's just a job to him (if a difficult one bc he's gotta manipulate and so on), wheres this is the point of no return for them, officially formalizing the goal of ending the org. (mind you neither voices this to the other but it flavors their acts and so on.)
the assassin vs the (former) healer, y'know?

one thing about the old xig ship, that continues even though it's platonic now, is that xig.bar and the k.h si are parallels and contrasts when it comes to the value of identity.
he let himself be forgotten by history, separating himself from his loved ones before the eve of the war. he continuously discarded and reinvented himself, to the point of seemingly disregarding the values of who he is as a person.
wheres the si was unwillingly forgotten by history, sundered from their loved ones. again and again trying to regain the lost parts of themselves, fighting control who they become, to not be changed and unmade by the org as a big example.
idk, just the drive for self destruction vs growing to want to heal, or one that gave into possession willingly vs one who fought against it.
#there's the angle of them both being depressed and the si ends up wanting heal vs xig who continues to bind himself to grim duty and so on#there's also the fact that they are both trans in some form#(headcanon in his part but that reading does add to his journey)#but yeah#si lore: k.h edition
