the way hozier titles a song "i, carrion (icarian)" where he sings about the self-destructive idea of sacrificing himself by flying into sun to save his relationship, and compares himself to 'carrion', the decaying flesh of animals, often a word used for roadkill. to then go and write a song called "abstract (psychopomp)" about how holding an animal whilst it dies mirrors the mercy of ending a failing relationship, similar to a 'psychopomp' - a deliverer of death. and we watch as hozier turns from 'icarian' to 'psychopomp' when he realises that prolonging suffering is crueler than just letting love die. i'm both in awe and crying on my bedroom floor.

and the way a carrion crow is also a symbol of death ?? and how 'carrion' sounds like 'carry on' the way icarus kept going ?? and how he sounds envious of his lover's courage in "abstract" ?? how when the sun is gone - "streetlights in the dark blue" - he can no longer blind himself and is forced to look at the corpse of his relationship ?? how to love is to let go ?? how can he keep getting away with this i'm sobbing ??

I feel like I know why Dark Pit hates the name Palutena and Pit gave him. (Besides the fact it's just a stupid fucking name)

"Pittoo" or "Pit two" is the name Palutena gave Dark Pit as her and Pit were hunting him down shortly after he fled with Pandoras powers.

He's a copy of Pit so of course it makes sense to call him "Pit Two"

But that's just the thing, he doesn't want to be seen as just a copy of Pit. He's his own person, he has his own thoughts and feelings about the world around him and he is very vocal about them. He wastes no time pointing out the many differences between him and Pit.

Sure he calls himself "Dark Pit" which seems like it still acknowledges that he is just a copy of Pit but in reality it's what sets him apart from Pit.

Yes, he is a reflection of the idiotic angel, but not a carbon copy. He isn't just a second Pit. He's got drastically different opinions and thoughts and a whole different personality. Hell, even when you look at the two for more than a second you can notice the differences in their appearances outside of just color.

But he is still a reflection so he will always be seen in some capacity as a copy of Pit. Adding "Dark" to his name is what sets him apart from Pit, what gives him a sense of his own identity.

"I'm not just a copy of you, I'm still my own person" type of feelings. So then when Pit and Palutena continue to call him "Pittoo" it's like they are erasing or ignoring what little bit of self identity he has. Even when they become allies they still don't acknowledge that he hates the stupid nickname and continue to call him by it despite his many attempts to get them to stop. They don't see him as his own person they just see him as what he was first introduced as. At the end of the day he is still just a dark copy of Pit to them.

I don't think Pit or Palutena do it to intentionally harm him but part of them will just forever think of him that way. He's a copy of Pit, a second Pit, it's fitting to call him as such, yk? They treat it like a joke. It's just a silly nickname to them. They legit cannot properly see how much it actually upsets Dark Pit besides "Oh hes just annoyed cuz it's a silly sounding nickname."

And that is part of what goes on to fuel Dark Pits distaste for the two. They don't take him seriously and won't acknowledge him as an actual person.
