          The question, despite how earnestly curious Yoshizawa is, is quite stupid if he was to put it lightly. Yoshizawa was obviously an innocent soul. Perhaps too innocent given the fact that she had lost her sister and had been brainwashed by Maruki. He was a bit miffed that her naivety kept her going for so long. It was almost like her innocence was one of the seven wonders of the world, and it leaves him rolling his eyes.

          “First you ask if this is what I’m really like and now you wonder why I’m rude to him? You do realize that sometimes there doesn’t need to be a reason. Maybe I just don’t like him.” A wicked grin, one full of malice, spreads thin across his lips. “Perhaps I might even hate him.”

          Though, Goro does have his reasons. In fact he has several. But divulging into those with Yoshizawa was a waste of his time. There was no use trying to explain something she’d probably never understand. It also wasn’t something he was going to debate with her. He knows that despite her ‘not wanting to be seen as biased’ stance she would defend him till the very end. It was written in the sand with every spoken, and even the unspoken, ‘senpai’.

          It almost makes Goro wonder what she thinks of his own true nature. Almost.

          “Is that answer satisfactory enough? If not then sorry to disappoint, but that’s all you’re getting.”

Useless headcanon time | Accepting

He steals some leftovers from the fridge at night. His stomach is really damn weird and it feels empty almost all the time, even when he’s full.

He was born with this messy, floofy hair. It’s very soft but he hates being touched unless you ask for permission.

His work/study desk is a bit of a mess and almost never organized unless Morgana yells at him for it.

His breakfast is curry with coffee. He never breaks that routine even as an adult.

Speaking of that, he’s unsure if he should become a detective or a police officer. A just one. He’s learned that all cops are shit thanks to Zenkichi, but the trauma and abuse he got from them still remains.

Although Sumire Yoshizawa was someone that Ren had technically only just “met���, it really didn’t feel that way as much as Sumire might have expected. Even as “Kasumi”, facets of the true Sumire had still bled through her personality, and now it was more like she simply wasn’t holding it back anymore. The difficult decision to face the suffering she had endured rather than continue to run from it had left Ren with the impression than she was far stronger of a person than she was willing to give herself credit for.

Violet flowers were really popular over at his part-time job, Rafflesia, where Ren had come to learn flower language in order to skillfully customize the bouquets that customers ordered for loved ones. As Ren was finishing up at his shift, Sumire had come by to surprise him, apparently wanting to head to her upcoming gym practice together rather than meeting up there later like Ren had initially suggested. Of course he was more than fine with that; he was happy to spend more time with Sumire. 

“Thanks for being patient, I was just finishing up,” Ren said apologetically, having removed his work apron in exchange for his usual winter coat. “Sumire, this is for you.”

At that, Ren tucked a single violet flower into her hair, right over her ear. Nobility, intuition, dignity, and a delicate love -- for her sister, for him, and for others. That was the violet’s meaning.
