pranks & surprises ❋ shubman gill x reader

summary — ishani gill decides to prank her twin brother, ishan by telling him that she's pregnant. atleast, that's what her husband thinks.

a/n — i actually love this one sm. oh and, this is from my wp account as well.

warnings — swearing && toothrotting fluff.

"wait so," shubman started, sitting up straight in the sofa, trying to process what his wife had just said. "you want us to prank ishan? by telling him that you are pregnant?"

ishani noded, as if she didn't know how her brother would react. "i mean— what's the worst that could happen?"

"me dying from getting beaten up by that guy." shubman countered, making ishani roll her eyes.

she beat him softly in his shoulder with a laugh, a typical kishan habit, shubman would say. "come on, it'd be so fun!"

"just imagine how chaotic his reaction would be," ishani added, messing shubman's hair.

shubman pouted at her words, laying his head on the crook of her neck. "so you just want me to face the devil himself?" he mumbled to her skin.

"that tickles," ishani giggled to his action, but later said, "but yeah, technically that's what i am saying."

shubman sat up straight again, cupping ishani's face. he connected their foreheads - a typical gill's habit, ishani would say. "fine i will do it," shubman whispered to her.

ishani flashed a grin — oh, how shubman would burn the world if it would light her face up!

"but there's one condition," shubman added, making ishani groan at his words. shubman raised his eyebrows, "aw come on, what's this shift of face?"

"what is the deal?" ishani just asked him. shubman pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear, as he leaned in close to her ear.

"i want you to—" he whispered so softly, making ishani gulp, "ride a rollercoaster."

ishani's eyes widen. "you know i hate those!"

"then no pranking on ishan for you," shubman smirked, creating an appropriate distance between them now.

"you are unfair!" ishani pouted, before dramatically falling on shubman's shoulder.

the next day arrived, so did ishan with his packet of chips in his hand. "i am here, so stop any inappropriate things you are doing right now, gills!" he shouted for the entire neighborhood to hear, but ishani and shubman were just around the corner.

"shout it to the entire world, why don't you?" ishani told from her seat in the kitchen counter as shubman cooked dosa for the two.

"planning on it, baby sister, don't worry," ishan countered back, as he hugged shubman's waist from the back. "you are making my bestfriend cook aren't you? is she being an nuisance she is, meri jaan?"

"not as nosey as you, pyaar," shubman chuckled. "she's the best kishan i have ever known,"

ofcourse, everything in this world may chance, but not ishan and shubman's never ending nicknames and love for eachother.

ishani coughed loudly, stepping down to beat ishan's shoulder. this is when they do the prank, shubman immediately realises. how? he doesn't know. just some telepathy message he got from his wife, although there's no magic.

"your wife is litreally pregnant," ishani told, beating shubman's shoulder now. "and you are cheating on her with her twin brother! you are a c-h-e-a-t-e-r!"

shubman got a nice beat for every letter ishani uttered, and he only laughed, an idiot, he is. ishan enjoyed the sight, until he realised what his sister just say.

"wait what did you just say?" ishan asked, his voice filled with panic and confusion. ishani and shubman's emotions shifted, as they realise their mistake or they pretend to do so.

"u- um," shubman uttered, scratching his neck. "we were actually planning to say that later today but ishani accidentally slipped that she is preg—"

nice acting, gill, shubman praised himself.

"you are actually pregnant?" ishan asked, avoiding shubman's words, focusing gaze only on his little sister.

"yeah," ishani nodded, her words somewhat sincere and filled with tension. nice acting, mrs gill, shubman wanted to say.

"oh," ishan nodded, now clutching the chips packet tight. "how? when? what? like what-the-actual-fuck,"

"the how is actually self-explanatory, pyaar," shubman added in middle of ishan's panic.

"oh, you don't talk." ishan shuts shubman off, as ishan put his hands to cover his face, rubbing it off. "she's just a baby, you shubman fucking gill!"

"how dare you involve in such inappropriate nonsensical and dumb behaviour with my sweetheart of a sister—" ishan went on, now throwing daggers at shubman.

shubman immediately grabbed his wife by her shoulder, putting her as a barrier between ishan and him. "you were just scolding ishani for making me do the cooking!" shubman pouts.

"you fucking dont get to talk, behench—" ishan was about to say, but shut his sister's ears. "behenchod."

"what is this behaviour, ishan?" ishani asked to her brother's action, whose attention was suddenly shifted to his sister. "i thought you knew that i know all these bad words— behenchod, chu—"

"sh! the baby might hear it!" ishan now shushed his sister, and shubman felt like he could melt.

ishan was already caring for a baby — and it was just for a sake of a prank.

"are you feeling okay, ishani?" ishan said, his tone changed to something soft and sweet, "do you want to drink water? want to sit down? need chips? oh wait, you get those cravings, right? do you think your idiot of a husband could take care of you? he could barely maintain his took back in those days,"

"even right now, he's letting that damn dosa burn," ishan reminded, the three's eyes darting to that poor now burnt dosa.

"shubman, does money hang in a tree for you?" the twins asked in sync, which shubman found terribly annoying.

"do you even know the gas price?" ishani scolded her husband, to which he lifted his hands in surrender after switching off the stove.

"sorry, mom," he joked.

"oh look at this idiotic man! he is so dumb," ishan complained, his right hand over ishani's shoulder, as if as an protective shield. "i might take you to mumma and papa if he keeps being like this,"

"she is perfectly fine with me, ishan," shubman told, rolling his eyes. "right my darling?"

pure silence. shubman held his hand to his heart dramatically, causing drama. "my own wife doesn't trust me!"

ishani stifled a giggle, even ishan's lips curved for a second before he realised something. "wait, did you tell mumma and papa? they are going turn the house down when they know!" ishan exclaimed, to which ishani and shubman exchanged awkward glances.

"actually, you are the first person to know." ishani told, softly, ruffling her brother's shoulder. "you know since i had to bear you since we were born,"

"why don't you go telling mumma and papa?" ishani told to her brother suddenly, leaving shubman confused. "i want you to say it, just to see how they will react."

ishan grinned at his sister, as he gave her a tight hug. "i love you, dumbo," he said, before taking up his phone and leave the kitchen. there was a pause in the room, before shubman broke it.

"wait, ishani you do realise what you are doing right?" shubman asked, feeling tensed. "he is going to say to uncle and aunty— they'll definitely take it seriously,"

"yes, i know," ishani told, now looking down at the plates in the table. she suddenly started messing with the plate, by tracing her index finger on it.

"wait so you know?" he asked, not realising the situation. "you can't just mess with them unless you are actually—"

shubman suddenly stopped his words, slowly realising what's actually happening. he looked at his wife— she was suddenly shy, a rare sight you'd see on his ishani gill, who's always brave and mischevious.

his heart started beating fast. "wait, you are?" he asked, his voice filled with lingering hope.

ishani just nodded, "i am sorry i didn't say earlier, i just wanted to say to ishan first then i came up this prank—and you know—"

ishani was interrupted by shubman's lips, pulling her into a long kiss. shubman's hands held her face so delicately, as if holding his most valued possesion.

"i wanted you to know in a unique way, i was about to say before you interrupted—" she panted, out of breathe. shubman started showering her face with kisses, from her forehead to her chin.

"i can't express how happy you truly made me, ishani," shubman muttered between his kisses. his hands suddenly grabbed her by waist, as he knelt down in front of her.

he looked up at her, with sweetest smile which can melt ice. "i love you ishani gill, you just made me the happiest man in this world."

ishani was lost of words, feeling the at most joy.

he kissed her stomach, connecting his forehead to her abdomen. "i can't wait to welcome our daughter," he said.

"daughter? i thought we would have a son, mr. gill," ishani told, kneeling down to be at the same level to shubman to see that his eyes are red.

ishani pinched his cheeks, her heart swooning. "daughter or son, i can't wait to have a family with you, you know," ishani told, connecting their foreheads. "handling a senior shubman gill and junior shubman gill sounds like one hell of a job, but the best job ever."

"thank you, meri jaan," shubman told. "i love you."

"i love you more," ishani said back, before they drifted to a short lived silence, but the one filled with a lot of love and promise.

"oh and," shubman told, his face buried in the crook of her neck. "we are pranking shahneel didi like you did with ishan."
