ricky and cesar struggle a little bit with navigation, have the most polite argument about it, and proceed to nab first place yet again. love their little banter at the roadblock where cesar is like oh ricky why aren't you cheering for me like everyone else's partners, ricky cheers and is like do you want me to keep going, and cesar is like...no you can stop now. (I'm with cesar, I would hate constant cheering while working on a roadblock, just let me do my shit.) I would love for them to win the whole damn thing.

yvonne and melissa get actual scenes this episode. melissa defies lesbian stereotypes by being very bad at building things. she also amuses me by encouraging yvonne on the climbing wall with "okay on this last climb you have to take a leap of faith...just like we took a leap of faith on us". they sailed through that climbing wall like it was nothing. the pit stop dynamic where actually melissa is the one who gets emotional while yvonne stays wry and steady is unexpected, but I am still haunted by phil's mysterious comments on this team. what does that mean phil, i'm scared.

danny and angie. danny is so good at navigating and attention-to-detail, but is too nice a boy in telling everyone else what's up. also very unfortunate that angie didn't do this roadblock, more physical ones are up ahead - if you have one team member who is just generically better a racer, you want the other one to do more roadblocks early on when you have more teams around and you can afford to make mistakes. prioritizing placement on current leg vs prioritizing winning in the end

kishori and karishma :( :( our first losers of these four, but not without giving us one more great line of "You have great legs, you're basically Tyra Banks!". They were not good racers but they were the most entertaining ones, they were genuinely sweet with each other, and I'm glad we saw them at the climbing wall last, not the skateboard.
