and now I’ll be replying to the current reblogs for no reason lmao
“One of the most interesting things I’ve ever seen done with the color grey” I love that. Thats like. The coolest compliment i ever got. It’s interesting to me bc i didnt actually ever use grey in this drawing. I had a color pallate. And i stuck to it.
The greyest color in that is actually Arthur’s skin tone. I think the insane amount of layers i did added that greyish look to the background (Reblog from @trenstrenats btw)
“The style the pose the smoke the john” the pose. I actually referenced a pose. Fun fact searching “ballerina” on Pinterest gives you tons of awesome pose refs! Here’s mine:
So Arthur’s pose was NOT my idea! Thanks though!! (Reblog from @prototypelq btw)
The composition… okay i tried to watch the Timelapse replay of this art on procreate but its so long it fucking glitched out and crashed procreate lmao
Okay update i just exported it. Allow me to infodump abt compositions >:)
its almost split into 2 halves. The right half is Arthur and the left half is john (that was an accident btw)
anyways compositions help when broken up into sections. Arthur is the focus. This almost balances out the piece bc people tend to put more weight on the top left side of a piece (in America at least. Cuz we read LEFT to right) but Arthur is a more notable figure in this drawing. He adds weight to the bottom right area. Also, when focus of a composition isn’t perfectly in the middle, it’s usually perceived more “messy” or “human” in a way. A perfectly centered composition almost looks “perfect”. Could be used to show balance, order, etc
heh. Art class did a unit on composition recently lol (reblog by @tiredmilkshake btw)
I dont usually do this but i genuinely love the reblog comments here…. I had to
shoutout to my partner @college-knockout for existing
I hate the rendering on this but i spent 5 and a half hours on it so fuck it
anyways i listened to malevolent while drawing this as well. Fucking cried.
