Big shout out to @blockthree and their collab partners @beer_diversity, @shortfingerbrewing, @counterpointbrewingco, and @twbcoop for participating and brewing a tasty beer. It was roasty but not too coffee forward for me and oh so smooth. A stout review isn’t really my lane but I honestly really enjoyed it, which does say something. What exactly it says, I don’t know. 100% of the proceeds are going to the African, Caribbean, and Black Network of Waterloo Reigon. The ACB Network focuses on advocacy and systems-level work within the Waterloo region. They are working to connect Black communities and build supports to address structural inequality. Thanks to Short Finger and Arabella Park for another awesome homebrew hangout! If you weren't there you missed an amazing collabeeration: Barncat and Shortfinger Pulp Clementine Double IPA - 8.1% ABV. The picture is pretty crappy but the beer is amazing. It looks like a glass of orange juice. And it tastes like one too. Made with the juice and zest of over 100 pounds of clementines and then dry hopped with citra and mosaic. It's super juicy and citrusy, and goes down so easy despite 8.1% alcohol content. 🍻 Episode #100: Selling Inspiration with Zack Weinberg + Justin Ross of @torontobrewing ~ Adjunct Series 🍻 We made it to a century, y'all! The Adjunct Series is going strong, and we're stoked to celebrate our 100th episode of this series by hanging out with the team behind @torontobrewing. @getitinyacee and Scott shopped at Toronto Brewing when it was operating out of founder Zack Weinberg's home in their homebrew days back in 2011, so this was a great full-circle moment. During the pandemic, Zack opened a second location on Geary St in Toronto that's also home to their independent bottle shop. Joined by Justin Ross (who runs @torontobrewing_btl), they chatted about the importance of independent beer stores in Ontario, how they cater to homebrewers via sorting their product by the ingredients used, and whether Irish Reds and Belgian beers are still popular. They cracked open a @greatlakesbeer x @godspeedbeer Hydration Helles Lager, @townbrewery x @finebalancebrewing’s Symbiosis Oat Cream IPA, Brouwerij der Sint-Benedictusabdij de Achelse Kluis's Achel 8° Bruin, and @shortfingerbrewing’s Hack Barleywine. Thanks to Kat, Jamie, and Rob at @shortfingerbrewing for an amazing Beginner's Guide to Homebrewing Class! I've brewed a handful of times but usually didn't really know what I was doing. I once made beer vinegar by mistake. I do not recommend. This homebrew class on the other hand, I definitely recommend. We got to brew beer, drink beer, and take home more beer to drink!
