ahahaha makes me think of morana’s problem as a primal beast and just the void she experiences because there is no war, there is no chaos, there is no challenge. she in a constant state of emptiness internally and lyria calling her out on that ‘you... unlike other primal beasts, i don’t feel anything from you.’ and she always comes back to that state of oblivion/void and that’s why the song ‘return to oblivion’ is so meaningful for gbf verse.
( The soul long for oblivion, oblivion.  /  Falling too far for the fear to embrace me.  /  A voice from the past screaming there is no end.  /  A slave to my fate ever doomed to repeat this;  /  again and again and again and again. )
it’s either singularity (aka djeeta/gran/danchou) being able to turn the tides and get her to feel some sort of connection that leads away from her eventual drowning sensation of void inside or she remains searching for a way to fill the void that keeps growing inside her because peace is not for what she was created - she was created to fight, to survive, to evolve. peace is her punishment in this case, it makes her stagnant, unfeeling, unliving almost.
just like nothing survives in winter, it’s still and nothing moves. if she’s not “melting” with emotions or desires or survival, it’s stagnant for her. it’s basically never-ending sensation of dread, which was like prison for her on the island despite semargl’s presence because even he started ot become stagnant to her, making her lose the sensation of connection to him.
if morana doesn’t struggle, doesn’t feel challenged, doesn’t create the essence of conflict/chaos to escape the boring oblivion, it leaves her feel like she’s stuck. she craves to fill the void through chaos, it only became worse after her stay in the island with semargl. it became worse when it was supposed to make it better, living with skydwellers and semargl on the same island was supposed to make her adjus to peace and find a way, but instead, it only caused her to drown in the sensation of absolutel utter dread: dissatisfied, bored, stuck in the void/oblivion - during winter nothing changes, the scenery remains the same if there is no meltingof the snow and if everything is frozen. the same analogy is here.
if morana/zarina doesn’t have a strong-enough stimuli, even if it’s small, she feels stagnant and it causes her lose intrest in everything. worse for her, she starts to be extremely alienated, which brought forth her current state of mind of being more of an observer and thinking. centuries on the island led her to question a lot of things.
