Kirbtober: Day 24 - Another Dimension

Saw this and immediately thought of Magolor

So I drew two versions of Magolor for the good of humanity

These were originally part of an ask from @/starflungwaddledee on my old account. Sadly, I forgot to save my response before I deleted everything, so this is all that's left. (This is why you always save your work, kids - and makes dupes whenever you can.) There might still be reblogs of the old post floating around, though, so, if anyone sees it, maybe let me know so I can reblog it here for archival reasons.

Seems to actually be Kumazaki, I didn't know he had accounts! This Magolor stuff is really cool. Wish I could've seen it.

Photographs containing official Magolor drawings seen at a Pupupu Train event. They seem to be from one of the 2018 Pupupu Train events and there were more that didn't feature Magolor. Unfortunately, I lost my source for these.

The bubble on the left of the second image roughly translates to "Mr. Magolor starts doing business on the side of the road without permission."

Shopkeeper Magolor!!! Feat. Some post-epilogue headcanons

After setting up in the Dream Kingdom, I hc Magolor would keep his magic abilities more of a secret this time, even though he just went through all of that to get them back, since he wants to make a fresh start here. Though there’s the occasional rumors, and he still plays with that sometimes. So instead to defend himself and the Shoppe when necessary he keeps a familiar sword by his side, and actually does some training to learn how to use the thing properly lol. But perhaps he’s really keeping it with him because subconsciously it’s a reminder that he’s free, he’s safe.

Also he has magic burn scars on his hands from the overwhelming amount of energy it took to create the ultra sword for the very first time.

Wrong Dimension

In his attempts to return to his preferred dimension, Magolor stumbles upon a world not so dissimilar from the one he was stuck in. Meeting a man who is cramping on his style.

I loved doing this piece for the colours. It is very purple and acidic green, and it fits Lorule. Since this land has been healing, the grass is not yellow anymore but is still very bright and dusk-like. The background came out really nice.

For anyone who does not know who Ravio is: he and Magolor are pretty similar down to their in-game roles and swarmy business manners. Though Ravio has far more good intentions, he is just sneaky about how he solves his problems. (And a bit of a coward, though he found his own brand of courage in ALBW)

I imagine if Magolor and Ravio met on neutral terms, they would get along like a house on fire. Although once Ravio catches a whiff of Magolor's more shady side, he will probably nope out of there as soon as possible. An interaction between these two before Magolor has been reformed (or as reformed as he is now current day) would certainly be interesting to see.

Choosing Shopkeeper Magolor for this piece was not smart of me with the abundant nature of this piece. But since Magolor has not had a chance to get his old duds back, it would not make sense if he were in his regular blue garb. I also like Shopkeeper Magolor, even if Kirby Clash has made me want to drop-kick him so many times. Idk, I just really like the green, cream and brown of his colour palette.

Kirbtober day 13 : Spin-off

Okay, I have so many feeling about this game. First, it's the closest thing we have from a kirby RPG. I played it with my friends. And also I spent waaay to many hours grinding it. I almost 100% cleared it without spending money or cheating ! And then... I accidentaly corrupted my whole SD cartdrige. While drawing this. Errr, it was kinda hard to stay motivated after that !

(I found old backup of my 2ds, but I lost almost 10 hours of entering the game 2 minutes every 12 or 24 hours just to have some apple gems. So... In cheating we go !)

Anyone remember my Paper Magolor? No? Well I'm doing it again. Happy belated release day for the TTYD remake :) I hope to get my hands on it soon!

I sketched out most of these months ago while I was playing through KRtDLDX for the first time. The Epilogue was giving me thoughts and the brainworms were feeding. Still, I didn’t really have any big piece ideas for these, so I figured I’d just slap them all into a comp, throw some lines and color on, and call it done. A little loose on context, I admit, but I think they came out okay in the end. I just love drawing this wretched man (and the clown that bothers him).
