Proper cheek weld is critical in long gun shooting accuracy. ⠀ ⠀ Why? Repeatability. If you are constantly changing where your head, and your eyes sit in relation to your scope – because you are lifting your head up and down, or back and forth – then the sight picture, and therefore, where you are aiming, is constantly shifting. ⠀ ⠀ This isn’t so much of an issue out to 50 meters, but the further out you get, repeatability is necessary in order to put that round in the same place.⠀ ⠀ Want to learn more? Still looking for suitable properties to shoot on. Places to take new and experienced shooters to educate, test and train. Educate and enjoy. This property had the topography, but the nealirbours are close. Close enough to be an issue. I still feel a successful range is going to be more about PR and integrating with the community, rather than trying to force ourselves upon them. Otherwise all the effort and resources just goes into battles and court appearances.. If anyone out there has potentially suitable property in the greater Auckland region (preferably south) then please get in touch. We are looking to lease, and it could be short or long term.

Out with the old and in with the new. Thanks to Ray at Eden Quarter Optometrist for sorting me out. I have been wearing @oakley glasses for years, like over 20 and still love them. These gave out after, frankly, a lot of abuse, but, it was time for a new description anyhow, and a bit of a style update. Also had a great chat to Ray about shooting and glasses and will likely have an article on that in the near future. Ray is a reader and a fellow Defender owner - so - if this is getting a bit hard to read, maybe book in for a visit? ;)

Not everyone reloads, so will be testing a couple of 'off the shelf' options for a new client build.

This is what commitment, and maybe a little hard-headedness looks like.⠀ ⠀ That mo though.

Found this while sorting through my fathers tools. 'Sid' or grandad, as I primarily knew him, retuned from serving in WWII to working at the @nzherald as a printer. I would assume this helped him with typesetting...
