A true abuse of notation. Sho was finally turning, head first, then body, in a full 180 to look at the other male. Golden eyes flicker down towards the bag that was being gripped so tightly it looked like the Yocotogram was about to burst one of his primaries, then up towards the pink multiplying across those scatterplot cheeks of his. 

     A gift. He’d really gone and gotten him a gift? Sho’s brows were already arching as he was taking the bag, peering down into it. A smirk slowly crosses his lips as he pulls out the sleek calculator. Oh, he’s definitely seen this before-- knew which set of coordinates this particular addition was being sold at, as well. 

     “You really think I need a pile of foundational trash to crunch my numbers?” He asks, that smug look never fading. However, in his eyes, there’s a twinkle. Oh, this is a gift that’s gone straight to the positives, Beat did a good job.

that's awesome :-) i totally agree about shobeat vs shoneku too btw, beat barely knows tf sho is other than some guy who showed up and instantly smacked his ass into the pavement in w3. i was asking because i am also aroace but i "ship" some aroace characters with other people anyway, whether in "queerplatonic" (or whatever) relationships or in like, non-reciprocal relationships where the other person has romo feelings and the aroace person has their own values or whatever and they're both open about it and it works. so i guess shipping in my head isn't necessarily romantic/sexual LOL but more like, "i want to build a life with this person." that was my reasoning when i asked anyway

I'm glad you agree about shobeat! I was worried I'd be the only one and this really isn't the hill I want to die on. I agree about shipping though it's a really nebulous term (if thats the word??) like is it strictly wanting two characters to be together romantically? Can it just be liking a dynamic, romantic or not? Idk. I've looked back on a lot of """ships""" I had when I was younger and realized that I didn't want anything about their relationship to change. I didn't want them to kiss I just wanted them to keep doing what they were doing. I kind of just assumed I shipped them because that was what everyone else was doing!

Nowadays it doesn't really matter to me. I don't care about having strict lines between romantic and platonic or using certain definitions. Honestly I'd say I "ship" Neku and Sho, as in really really liking their dynamic and wanting to see more of it, if the word didn't have explicitly romantic connotations. Sometimes it's easier to say ShoNeku over Sho and Neku but I also don't want people to misconstrue what I'm saying, yknow? Especially since that could snowball into a whole mess of looking like you ship some REALLY questionable things. It's fandom slang and it exists for a reason but it can definitely be restrictive if you're like me and prefer talking about non-romantic dynamics. Ao3 has & for non-romo duos but unfortunately I've yet to see the same kind of thing here on tumblr. It would be nice though!

     When this had started, he already knew exactly what to say, what to do to push those buttons in the way that brought out expected results. The way Beat had glared at him, the way that he’d pursed his lips in that all too familiar way of annoyance. But the second that his hands were on Sho, it was different. He’d been expecting that same fight, the push and pull, and when he doesn’t get it, it forces his brain to stop and recalculate. 

     Brows furrow as his head tilts off to the side, accepting those kisses as he was trying to figure out what exactly was different-- what variable was off in this moment? What had caused the double negative and why was it happening now of all times? 

     Heat was flaring across his face, a look of surprise widening at his eyes as he feels those lips softly pressing to the scar of all things-- something that Sho hadn’t considered worth even noticing before. It had served as a reminder of a failure, but never something that he had looked down at himself for, and here this utter binomial was kissing it. 

     “What do you think you’re doing, you Hectopascal?” He demands, nose wrinkling softly as Beat’s hands find themselves in his own, and he grips harder onto them, as if trying to turn it around into the game he had wanted to play when this had started. Beat was having none of it, it seemed, as their lips seal and the taste of Beat fills his senses. 

     GM₁M₂ over D₂ -- but why would that suddenly change? When did M₂ find his way breaking out of the loop of the game that he’s set, when was his control being taken without the force of bonds so strong even he couldn’t break them. 

    Sho was the first one to break the kiss this time, his head tilted away from Beat as the flush across his features grows darker. And when Beat presses inside of him, just as slow and gentle as he’s been this entire time, golden eyes flutter just for a second and Sho moans.
