Saw you took specific requests. Here's mine:
Jamil with a religious reader who gives him a protection talisman.
Fun fact, prayer beads are used in multiple religions as they help count prayers (Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc).
So let's say reader comes from a world where magic exists but it's exclusively on religious grounds. Meaning if you wanna do magic you gotta pray to the right god or make a deal with some form of mythological creature.
Reader knows that Jamil's is always in danger due to the constant assassination attempts on Kalim, so they make a set of prayer beads and ask a diety to bless it in order to protect their boyfriend (could be Allah, Indra, Shiva, Buddha, Susanoo, whichever). Jamil accepts it and heads back home appreciating the sentiment but not really believing.
Except any form of danger keeps getting thwarted. Drink/food he's trying is poisoned? Conveniently spills over/has a whole in the bottom. Accident happens? Conveniently pushed out of the way. Someone tries to hurt him/kill him? Struck by lightning and straight up dies.
Not even his own parents are safe. They try to slap him to "discipline him" then they get zapped (lightly tho).
you know!!! I love this prompt so much... I'm a religious studies major so this kinda stuff is so ^w^ to me I get so excited.
summary: giving jamil a protection spell type of post: short fic characters: jamil additional info: reader is gender neutral, the existence of religious beliefs in twst is. confusing. so we're keeping it vague, not proofread, reader is yuu
Perhaps it was because your world was still considered "magicless" by Twisted Wonderland standards, or perhaps Jamil was never superstitious to begin with.
Either way, he wasn't exactly as excited as you'd been hoping for.
"It's nice. Did you make it yourself?" he asks, inspecting the beads. "A bracelet?"
"Prayer beads, actually. And yes, I did,"
"It's well made. What's the purpose?"
You hesitate. The nature of religion in this world is still confusing to you, although you can surmise there's got to be some kind of belief system. It's best not touching on for now.
Besides, Jamil has never been much of a believer in higher powers. For good reason.
"For protection," you explain. "Not that I think you can't handle yourself. But I worry about you over break, you know..."
He's quiet for a moment, inspecting the gift in the palm of his hand. And then he tucks the beads away in his pocket and smiles.
"I'll keep them with me, then. Thank you,"
Even if he's not exactly keen on the idea that these things will make his life any less terrible, they're from you.
And so he keeps his promise, and tucks them away after you part.
By the time he's "home" (back in Kalim's family home) he's all but forgotten about the little blessing at the bottom of his pocket. Not that you can really blame him- "vacation" is more of a title than a reality when he's back.
The first incident happens not even a day after.
The al-Asim summer mansion is certainly nothing to scoff at. Though it's only one of many, this one in particular houses a large sum of physical treasures, line with gold and ivory, stuffed full of spices and all the makings of a feast that could feed thousands, a shining jewel of the desert.
Jamil is not all that impressed.
Especially when it comes to navigating such an ornate building on orders. The polished-to-perfection floors present a challenge when you're carrying three crates worth of grain to the kitchen on the lowest floor.
Damn these stairs.
Though Jamil may not be a religious man, he still asks whatever deity may be up there to smite the slippery spiral staircase he's descending.
His arms strain to uphold the weight of the boxes, and his legs strain to keep a good footing on one of the many long and elaborate and narrow servant passages designed specifically so that the unwanted workers of the family can slip by undetected.
Quiet, diligent, and he has to be quick, too. Kalim is expecting him for a game in one of the many lounges soon.
Another unfortunate "vacation". How he'd much rather be spending it with you...
For a brief moment, Jamil swears he can feel the beads in his pocket warm against him, reminding him of their presence.
And then he slips.
The crates free themselves from his careful grasp and tumble down the stairs, creaking and thudding but mercifully staying intact.
Jamil, however, isn't made of wood. He winces as he feels himself tilting forward- and then... somehow, a strong draft pushes him on his back.
He lands just shy of his tailbone, luckily not hurting anything, except for his pride.
What a turn of luck.
The next happens at dinner.
Jamil keeps his earlier blunder to himself. His pride is damaged enough as it is, after all, and so he tries his best to conceal how shaken up the experience left him by moving swiftly across the kitchen.
"We have a dish ready for you to test," someone shouts.
He sighs. How many more evenings of this will he have to endure?
Though, he reminds himself- this may always be his last.
The thought makes Jamil chuckle as he's handed a hot dish and a clean fork. He can only stop to smell the roses for so long, so there's no chance of savoring such an exquisitely prepared meal before he's off to another part of the kitchen.
Just as the fork digs into the food, the dish slips out of his hand and shatters on the kitchen floor. Everyone falls silent.
His eyes widen. "How- ugh. My apologies,"
Now this is just getting ridiculous. How clumsy can he get in one evening? He's usually much more careful...
"Look," the head chef says, the whole kitchen crowding around the food as it dissolves.
Jamil's stomach lurches. Cyanide. It has to be. If he'd eaten that dish right there and then...
The kitchen is swiftly cleared out, and he's sent back to the lounge.
it only gets stranger from there.
What Jamil initially wrote off as clumsiness and luck seems to become a pattern-
a flying arrow at the archery range just narrowly misses him when he bends down to fix his sandal.
The al-Asim family tiger (because of course they have one) chooses to toy with a visiting prince rather than him in the courtyard.
A strong draft pushes him on his rear end seconds before a sandbag falls from an under-construction part of the mansion.
He would call it fortune if he believed in such a thing.
By the end of the vacation, everyone is absolutely perplexed by his string of good luck. Jamil isn't unfamiliar with how dangerous his family's position in life is, and he's had his fair share of injuries as a result, but this time all he has to show for it is a slightly lesser sense of annoyance than usual.
It's only the end of the trip where he ponders (unfortunately aloud) about the string of coincidences, and the beads in his pocket.
Kalim goes on to babble about Jamil's "good luck charm" to anyone who will listen, much to his annoyance.
"Oh, I want one too! Can you ask them to make me one, too?" he says, folding his hands in a pleading motion. "It's so pretty!"
"It was a gift. But... I suppose I can ask..." he sighs, and then smiles to himself.
Of course you'll come up with some excuse to say no. Because, for once, this charm is all his.

Brahma and its Ancient Origins
By Hossein Behzad - http://sadmu.ir/detail/5613, Public Domain, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=85573572
Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī, also known as Muhammad bin Muhammad bin al-Husayn al-Khatibi al Bakhi al-Bakri, more commonly known in English as Rumi, was a Persian Islamic scholar, Sufi mystic, and poet who lived from 1207-1273. His name indicates that he was from the Sultinate of Rūm in Anatolia, which was part of the Byzantine Empire near the time of his birth. Rumi comes from a Persian word meaning 'Roman', meaning the Eastern Roman, or Byzantine Empire. His father was a preacher and jurist in Balkh, which was a major center of Persian and Sufi culture. When Rumi was five, the family moved to Samarkand due to the Mongols invasion, but Balkh had a deep effect on him through his life. He held a deep respect for Persian poets that went before him, such as Attar and Sanal, saying 'Attar was the spirit, Sanal his eyes twain, And in time thereafter, Came we in their train'. The family then settled in Karaman in Central Anatolia. There, his mother and brother died and his father remarried two more times. When Rumi was 21, the family settled in Konya at the invitation of 'Alā' ud-Dīn Key-Qobād who ruled Anatolia at the time so that his father could become the head of a religious school called a madrassa. When Rumi was 25, his father died and he inherited the position while continuing to learn under others. He traveled to Damascus and met with a dervish Shams-e Tabrizi, who had a deep influence on him. He tended to spontaneously compose poems that were collected by his followers and others. After the death of Shams, when Rumi was 40, he found another companion, Salaḥ ud-Din-e Zarkub, then Hussam-e Chalabi. Hussam encouraged Rumi to write his poetry down, that it 'would become the companion of many troubadours.' Over the next twelve years of his life, he dictated six volumes to Hussam. Many of Rumi's works talk about the love that infuses the world, which is a common thread with other mystic and Sufi poets. While he wrote about other religions, he held Islam above the others and the Quran as the ultimate truth.

Brahma is the Hindu creator in the supreme divinity that includes Vishnu and Shiva. The earliest mentions of Brahma probably date to the late first millenium BCE in the Maitrayaniya Upanishad. In it, 'one's Soul is Brahman, and this is the Ultimate Reality, Cosmic Universal or God is within each living being.' Brahma is often depicted with four faces that face the four directions and four arms without weapons in his hands, but rather holding symbols of knowledge and creation such as a copy of the Vedas and a mala, a loop of prayer beads, which symbolizes time.
In the poem, Rumi places the reader in the place of many parts of the world, beginning with 'I am the mote in the sunbeam, and I am the burning sun;/"rest here!" I whisper to the atom; I call to the orb, "Roll on!"' Not everything is pleasant, though, as he ads '[t]he warrior, the blade that smites him, his mother's heart-wrung tear;/I am intoxication, grapes, wine-press, and must, and wine' as well as 'I am both Good and Evil; the deed and the deed's intent,/Temptation, victim, sinner, crime, pardon and punishment'. It culminates with 'I am what was, is, will be; creation's ascent and fall;/The link, the chain of existence; beginning and end of all.'
You can read the whole poem here.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐬𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐠𝐫 🔱
This is gonna be a long read so buckle in...
So, Iverr and Estinien basically shared Nidhogg's power through ARR to the end of the Dragonsong War. However, when Estinien was overtaken by Nidhogg's rage, it severed the connection shared between the wyrm and Iverr...this, in turn, made Iverr unable to use his draconic abilities he gained from said connection.
He spent the short time in post-HW fighting alongside WoL as a normal dragoon. While he was still a great fighter, the loss of that which gave him power was difficult for the Viera....Before the fight with Nidhoggstinien, Hraesvelgr gifts one of his own eyes, albeit temporarily, to WoL. WoL, in turn, asks Iverr to hold it, as it would be of more use to him.
Upon taking the Eye, Iverr once again felt the strength he once had from Nidhogg, but this time......this time it was no longer a shared strength. It was his to use in full.
Upon Nidhogg's defeat, and with Estinien safe, Iverr brought the Eye back to the wyrm Hraesvelgr, returning it as promised. This surprised Hraesvelgr, as all previous dragoons were so quick to take the eyes of dragons with no thought to their owners. This touched Hraesvelgr; it reminded him of Shiva's kindness, and he saw the same kindness and love within Iverr. Hraesvelgr then prompted Iverr to hold on to his eye for the time being, with the promise that he would return it to him when he deemed he no longer needed it.
Iverr did not take this gift for granted. Using Hraesvelgr's golden power, he helped WoL liberate Ala Mhigo and Kugane, striking down Shinryu and smiting Zenos once and for all (or so he thought akjfjskd)
However, when he too was swiftly brought to the First alongside the Scions, he feared he'd lose the connection he had begun to form with Hraesvelgr. His temporary Lightwarden transformation did not help his confidence either, and he took up the art of the Dancer as he recovered throughout Shadowbringers.
Once Emet-Selch was defeated, he took back up the lance, and when calling upon the power of the wyrm in battle, he was surprised to find that he was able to use it, ableit at a fraction of its usual strength. Even across the universe, the connection between himself and Hraesvelgr endured. This helped him regain his confidence, and upon returning to the Source, he spared no time in training himself in wielding this power and strengthening this bond.
By the time the Final Days had begun, Iverr and Hraesvelgr's bond was stronger than ever. When the Scions, him now amongst them, were determined to fly across the universe to find Meteion, he feared that if something were to happen to him and the Eye, he wouldn't be able to fulfill his promise to the wyrm. Thus, he left the Eye behind. He feared that he would be returned to a powerless state but, in the fight with the Endsinger, in his endless resolve to stay by WoL's side, he clung to hope, calling upon Hraesvelgr for power and, to his surprise, Hraesvelgr answered. Iverr was able to wield his power without the Eye's assistance, just as Estinien could wield Nidhogg's.
Upon their return, Iverr took a short respite before taking his pilgrimage back to the Churning Mists. He called Hraesvelgr down, Eye in hand, and returned it to him. This pleased the great dragon, who had fully expected Iverr to never return it.
In this act of trust, Hraesvelgr named Iverr his Golden Lance, one to enact judgement upon those who threatened the peace on this star. ⚜️
#copied from my lore thread on twitter#ive wanted to differentiate iverr from estiniens draconic abilities for so long#i finally had a big brain moment and came up with a way for him to be a unique dragoon all his own#i absolutely love this now and will not be shutting up about it#ffxiv#ffxiv viera#male viera#ffxiv gpose#ffxiv screenshots#viera veena#ff14 ffxiv#hraesvelgr#ffxiv dragoon#ffxiv drg

urging you right now to look up shin megami tensei v shiva battle theme
youtube
...its ok? probably not my favorite boss theme tbh, it feels like the same 10-20 seconds of audio on loop which would get monotonous very quickly to me esp as to my understanding hes a pretty hard boss fight so if you had to retry him a lot it could get old pretty fast
youtube
though actually if we're talking about themes associated with him this is more tangential but the lobby theme that smite did when they put him in their game is pretty cool in that they made it pretty similar to actual temple music (i think specifcally this is a type of Vedic rock?)
youtube
also it turns out gbf does actually have a theme for him? this one sounds nice as well though i'm not sure if its accurate like the smite one so much as it just sounds cool.
#my asks#though admittedly i also tend to be less into repetitive music generally so thats also on me

Rpg Anon: So yeah I said I'd like to make some changes to the Hajime's Shiva Persona design thoughts I said. First things first, I based my thoughts on Shiva from actual Hindu depictions, Smite, Record of Ragnarok, and SMTV/Persona. Now for some new ideas plus some changes:
First of all, I changed my mind slightly on the two floating mechanical arms. They'll still be mechanical somewhat, but I want them basically attached to his back now. Kinda like he's got a cybernetic backpack with arms that serve as his upper extra pair. Take a look at this image below (I got it from Smite itself; do i still need to credit it?)
This is Smite Shiva concept art. You see how his two upper arms come from behind him and behind his other arms specifically? That's kinda what I think would be better now. Except again, mechanical appendages. Basically he's truly got the normal two arms human anatomy but he's bringing cybernetic enhancements (doesn't necessarily mean it has to be fused into his skin and body tho). I don't want his upper mech arms to be overly giant tho. I prefer the same size as his real arms.
Now I can get into the smaller but finer details. First, I don't intend on him being full mechanical. I kinda intend a Shiva Persona to still be the classic and traditional design (refer to SMT/Persona design and definitely again to the Smite design; theyre downright correct and accurate to what Shiva looks like). In other words, he'd definitely be more flesh than cybernetic. So yes, he'd still have the basically shirtless muscular warrior look with the tiger pelt/loincloth, the snake around his neck (mod, you can modify this part so it matches up with the Hajime themes and mecha themes if you want, however you want. Just makes sure it's still wrapped around his neck), and etc. That said, I wouldn't mind him wearing awesome metal/cybernetic gauntlets on all four arms.
Side note: Definitely blue skin. This Shiva Persona design for Hajime has to have it no matter what cuz it's goddamn Shiva.
Next, he has Izuru hair. Gotta cram in some Hajime stuff and you can kinda believe Shiva would have such long hair if he untied it.
Next, he has a face mask similar to Izanagi's. Also, he's got the green and red eye color Hajime's got. Straight up fanservice here.
Next, his third eye is going to be one hell of a sci-fi fantasy shit. You ever seen Raiden from Metal Gear Revengeance? You seen how he has that black face mask? Yep, I want this Shiva to have something similar where some mechanical pieces from the side come to together to form the traditional Shiva Third Eye design over his face. And then yes, the design then glows and shoots motherfucking flaming laser beams of death. Look up pictures online of Shiva killing Kama; you'll see what it looks like.
Now for some slight animation changes. For any physical move, I don't want him to still be in his idle/summoned pose of him meditating and levitating when doing it anymore. So now, he starts out the meditating and levitating pose but leaves out of it when doing the lunging stab or slash. The jojo style rapid fire punching is the same with him leaving the pose to do his thing. He only stays in the stance when doing his offensive or support magic spells. The Tandava unique skill is the only exception cuz I need him to start dancing.
(Omfg I just realize I have literally recreated Mecha Shiva. Kill me now.)
I probably forgot some other changes I wanted to say but i think I'm good for now. So yes, these are some details to Hajime's Shiva Persona in my vision. What do you think?
//Cool.
//Like, that's literally all I have to say. That's a cool idea.
//Also, this might be the most obnoxiously long ask anyone has ever sent on this blog, lol.

"The Smashers." Job 17: 10-16.
Clean hands and pure work go together. So we are told. Now we learn how night and day figure into delivery from the Shule into the normal, every day world. One argues the day starts at sunrise, but in observance of Shabbos, the dividends of happiness earned on all effort, this begins at sunset the day before.
Why this matters has to do with the fact time is always short for us. Within the Psalm below are the other reasons: Sunset begins when we see the not-self for what it is. That is the real end of the day before Shabbos:
10 “But come on, all of you, try again! I will not find a wise man among you. 11 My days have passed, my plans are shattered. Yet the desires of my heart 12 turn night into day; in the face of the darkness light is near. 13 If the only home I hope for is the grave, if I spread out my bed in the realm of darkness, 14 if I say to corruption, ‘You are my father,’ and to the worm, ‘My mother’ or ‘My sister,’ 15 where then is my hope— who can see any hope for me? 16 Will it go down to the gates of death? Will we descend together into the dust?”
The Bed, #11, is Jewish talk for "the A1 Qualities", the greatest of which is called Ha Shem:
Ha=to tune the mind
Shem= to all that can be perceived
The Values in Gematria are:
v. 10-11: Come on, try again! The Number is 9516, טהאו, tahao, "pray." To pray is to enter the Shule, where what is not real can not enter, and thus what is real is found.
v. 12-13: Turn night into day. In the Shule, what is not known about God becomes apparent, what is false also becomes apparent. Only Judaism explains how the universe builds upon the darkness of the Shule and becomes the pluripotent manifest creation through the Seven Days. Otherwise all we have is Shiva, the god of destruction. In Judaism the mind is allowed to play.
The Number is 5956, ןטןו, "and Nathan." "And undergoes transformation."
"The shape-shifting verb נתן (natan) means to give in a broad bouquet of senses, from regular giving or bestowing, to setting or putting, to transforming one thing or situation into another.
This verb's three nouns מתן (mattan), מתנה (mattana) and מתת (mattat) all mean gift, again broadly ranging from a regular present to an offering to an innate talent (being "gifted")."
v. 14-15: If I say to corruption...The Number is 9348, טגדח, "the hammer, a smasher."
"The verb הלם (halam) means to hammer or smite. It occurs less than a dozen times: of striking an anvil (Isaiah 41:7) or destroying carved works (Psalm 74:6) or uppity generals (Judges 5:26), or clusters of vines (Isaiah 16:8). It's used to describe a righteous person correcting someone (Psalm 141:5) or the hammering of horses' hoofs (Judges 5:22), and once quite literally getting hammered from wine (Isaiah 28:1).
This verb's derivations are:
The feminine noun הלמות (halmut), meaning hammer or mallet (Judges 5:26 only).
The feminine noun יהלם (yahalom), denoting some kind of precious gem. We don't know exactly which gem this word denotes (jasper has been proposed but that's just a guess). All we know it that it was known as smasher, or it will hammer (or it will require hammering, possibly because it's so hard). This stone is mentioned three times, twice in reference to the high priest's breast plate (Exodus 28:18 and 39:11) and once in reference to the king of Tyre's covering (Ezekiel 28:13).
The feminine plural noun מהלמות (mahalumot), meaning strokes or blows. It occurs twice, both times referring to blows exchanged between humans (Proverbs 18:6, 19:29)."
In order to benefit from all this poetry and the prose too one must realize none of it can be taken literally. To define the Self without using words but through direct experience is the objective of the time spent in the Shule.
v 16: Will we descend into death? The Number is 5815, החאה, "the bra."
"Go onwards, go farther."
Moses and Joshua both told the men to "go farther." Where were they going? They argued Moses was trying to get them killed by a superior enemy. To be free of all but the whims of the Self is the objective of the Jew. This means especially freedom from trouble and all wickedness habits which bring a man down and waste his time.

Here is an image of God, Kali. This is an interpretation of how she would look in the game SMITE. I was surprisingly shocked when Vivek Shraya's book had the story of Kali in it. The game also has Gilgamesh, Ganesha, and Shiva.

SMITE 2022 Line-up: Review & Predictions
Before the next challenger decides to show himself, Gods and Goddesses, Hi-Rez decided to show us the teasers for the new gods that shall enter the Battleground in 2022. You can see the video [here], then come and let me know what you think!
It seems like there's going to be six gods (like in 2021 and 2020), released roughly one per two months. We've got one confirmed right away: Shiva, the Destroyer shall begin his dance in February.
Next one is also pretty simple, we see Asian-style palaces in the clouds and the name drop of the Jade Emperor; the chief of Chinese pantheon and the whole bureaucracy of Heavens. We'll see him presumably in April.
Next one is both simple and not. In June, we'll see one of the Knights of the Round Table. Now, which one I don't know. I'm going to place my bet on either Lancelot (although he's technically not a part of the original legend) or Galahad, or even Mordred, since we already have Morgana.
Now, we enter the most difficult one: the mysterious archer of August. A volley of arrows, a golden arrow piercing the ground... Honestly, I've seen everything ranging from Robin Hood to the introduction of the Korean Pantheon. But the desert-like landscape and the gentle sound of some sorta stringed instrument makes me think of Egypt. This could be Sekhmet. Whilst not associated directly with archery, a phrase for bad luck in Egypt was "Seven Arrows of Sekhmet".
In October, he arrow then sinks in the water and comes up to an island. I've seen people saying this is Maui, the Polynesian hero, or Namaka, a sea goddess of Hawai'i (and Pele's sister). However, we see a bird flying up and disappearing in a puff of smoke as soon as it crosses the Sun... this could all mean Icarus, as he and his father did in fact escape an island on their home-made wings.
Finally, we see a feast for December. Table overlaid with food and drink and the mention of revelry. Here, I've seen two guesses. One was Demeter, which I can understand (or perhaps Hestia), but I am more partial to the other; the colours are predominantly black and purple, we see chicken, alcohol, a skull, and a lot of peppers. These are the signs of the Ghede loa. This might be Baron Samedi's wife, Maman Brigitte.
Let me know what you think, my dears! I'll see you very soon.
- Nerdy out!

I have to admit Hi-rez has been really good with giving us the most fan-requested as of late with Jorm, Horus, Set, Hera, Persephone, etc. But at the same time I feel they still need to give some love to all the other pantheons considering we’re seemingly getting another Norse god in the form of Heimdallr when Hi-rez hasn’t even touched the Hindu, Celtic, or Japanese pantheons in well over a year.
#smite#I hope they're intentionally setting our expectations low with supposedly not giving us shiva at the end of the year#because I get they want to add in other pantheons but you should still work on the other pantheons present in the game#without neglecting them for what seems like forever

falsaium liked your post “starter call”
“Oi kid. Its freezing colder then shiva tits out here, you think...hey you want some hot choco? I got some instant if you want.” Green hair and mysterious, its probably some daemon, but his good conscious cannot ignore a kid out here in nif so much.
He resists the urge to rub his hands.
#falsaium#every time i write i pray that shiva not smite me for taking her chest parts in vain#he so...crass
