okay okay so I just rewatched the episode where maeve gets killed and I was thinking about this one scenario. what if BAU!reader and Spencer dated before and everything was very serious and everyone thought it was meant to be and like Spencer was even thinking about proposing in the future, but it was kinda right person, wrong time so they broke up. and like both stayed single because they still had feelings for one another, but then spence gets to talk to maeve weekly and finally starts feeling for someone again after Y/N, and like he lets his feelings grow and falls in love with maeve. but like in canon he doesn’t tell anyone so when maeve gets kidnapped, y/n suddenly gets to hear spencer officially moved on and fell in love with someone else and although she’s happy for him her heart shatters at the thought. fast forward to when they find where the unsub is, y/n completely loses her shit when Spencer wants to go in alone and hot h really has to hold her back because she’s panicking too much (kind of like JJ panicked when will went into that bank) and when she hears a gunshot she immediately assumes the worst and breaks out of Aaron’s grip to run inside. however she’s released when she sees spence alive. but then after the unsub kills herself and maeve with the act and Spencer breaks down, her heart shatters of seeing the one person she loves most hurt over someone else :(. we also know that Spencer doesn’t talk to anyone after but like since y/n is his ex, he lets her in and she comforts him through it all and they slowly start growing closer again and one day Spencer kisses her:)
