Man this otp ,this fic ,this history !!!.

Full context: in late september yt started to recommend me portal animations and i was like "ah ,portal yes i know what it is ,i like robots" then a couple days the blue sky animatic and all change (beside mr blue sky is one of my favorite songs) ,3 days of reading non stop ,had to make me stop ,woke up two times in the night to keep reading ,one the best fanfics i ve read (and i read fanfiction all day ) the writting seems almost canon in some parts ,wheatley redemption arc one of the best ,wheatley and chell relationship exacly how it was supposed to be slow and careful ,of course she would not give that "second chance " lightly he did something horrible but we all can tell he is a good person deep down ,their friendship with other lovable characters like garret or foxglove ,everything is so well done .

Wheatley was already my favorite afther reading this only make me identify and love him more ,to when you get to end you really do feel and say "he deserves his happy ending "

And the ship chelley ,is an great one a true otp but with the one condition to make wheatley have his redemption arc like in this one or a couple of other good ones ive read ,i love the friends to lovers history ,they complement and support eachother so well ,everything the other is not .

They totally deserved to have that happy end and their family .

Woof, 2019. What a rough one, for a lot of reasons.  Let's start with some positive things!      + I had a VERY successful Artist Alley at Animarathon 2019 this past year! I just found out that I've been accepted for Animarathon 2020, and I'm very excited to start planning for prints.      + I was accepted into FOUR zines, all around the same time! You can see previews of them in the August-December slots. I tried to challenge myself with each piece, and I feel pretty satisfied with them as a whole.     + Since I was using Instagram a lot more, I got more into the habit of sharing sketches and unfinished pieces, instead of fixating on only posting finished work. It felt pretty liberating, and it was nice to be reminded         that sometimes "finished, not perfect" is the way to go.      + I had an AMAZING time at OIAF 2019!! I saved up my money and was able to go, got hella inspired by some amazing films, and had some wonderful and insightful conversations with industry artists.  But 2019 was also...kind of rough emotionally. As I'm typing everything out now, in hindsight, I realize I probably handled things pretty poorly and that everything that seemed so huge, so overwhelming at the time really wasn't as bad as it seemed. But I digress, and I do need to share my feelings more instead of bottling them up and pretending they don't matter.  Working a full-time product design job (or any artistic job) really, REALLY sapped the creative energy out of me. I hit a really intense period of artistic burnout that kept fading in and out throughout the year. For the first time, there were moments when I just couldn't work on art, or even WANTED to, and that was really upsetting to deal with. (ESPECIALLY whenever community challenges like MerMay, Shiptember, Inktober, etc. would start up.) Which, in turn, led to periods where I would put off working on art I actually wanted to create, which led to things piling up, which only contributed to the fatigue when I inevitably had to tackle multiple projects at once.  So, in general, here are the things I learned and want to put into practice going forward:     + Take better care of myself emotionally. It's okay if, somedays, I don't draw. Allow myself more breaks to enjoy other things and come back to the table fresh and inspired.      + Manage my time better. This is a resolution I keep attempting and, in small degrees, succeed and fail at it. I hope this year is the year I finally manage to get a handle on it by setting more realistic goals, utilizing planners more, taking on smaller projects and setting realistic deadlines, instead of creating lofty goals I can't meet.          + Get back into creating art for myself. Create what makes me happy, not what I think will make others happy.  Here's to a fresh start!
