Elektra slammed into Quill’s shoulder as the man came to an abrupt stop. “Jesus, dude, warn a girl next time.” “Sorry didn’t exactly have time with this big blue asshole in front of me,” Quill whispered sharply, never taking his eyes off the giant of an inmate before him.  The alien eyed the Terrans with a hunger in his gaze. He kept looking more at Quill than Elektra, however. She wasn’t sure whether to be relieved or not.  “Next time, we come across another blue alien who wants to eat me, you’ll be the first person I tell.” His sarcasm sunk into her skin and Elektra sighed.

An apology was all she was after, but she wasn’t about to let him off the hook that easily. “I might consider forgiving you,” She watched with a smirk as Quill’s expression perked up. “Really?” She nodded, smirk growing wider as her gaze landed on the bowl of sludge in the middle of the table, “If you can finish that without throwing up.” Quill’s smile died, and Elektra resisted the urge to laugh.  “You’re not serious?” “Oh no,” Her lips spread into a smile and she could see the tension stretching across Quill’s wide shoulders, admiring the way the muscles twitched at the thought.  “I’m completely serious. Consider it one final punishment.”

“It’s infuriating,” Elektra sighed as she turned around to lean on the balcony railing. Her eyes followed their new companions in the bar, Drax and Rocket placing another bet on the Orloni fights. She crossed her arms and her gaze met his. Peter swore he could see himself reflected in the dark brown irises. “I just want to get my units and go.” “You have that much of a desire to run, huh?” His chest twisted, although he wasn’t sure if it was from the alcohol he’d consumed or the anxiety bubbling up in his gut at being forced to wait. Yondu was on his tail, and he knew it was only a matter of time before the Ravager showed up to collect him. Elektra didn’t respond. “What did the Kree do to you?” Her posture went rigid and her lips screwed themselves into a tight frown. Those big brown eyes scanned Peter from head to toe. “What did the ravagers do to you?”

Gamora stared ahead, shoulders taut at the sound of the Ravager’s voice, “I have no words for an honorless thief.” “As opposed to a genocidal maniac?”  Gamora tensed at Elektra’s words and she whirled around, “You’re one to talk. How many planets has Ronan destroyed? How many Skrull still walk the galaxy after refusing to submit to your rule?” Elektra clenched her jaw, fingers wrapping themselves into fists, “I am not one of them. I was stolen from my home, my family, forced to work for men I despise and enslaved by a race I will never call my own.” Gamora’s lips tilted into a small smirk, “Then it seems we have that in common.”

“No one’s blowing up any moons,” Gamora sighed.  “You just wanna suck the joy out of everything,” Rocket muttered and Elektra squatted to the floor, surveying his work.  “That one’s better for remote detonation,” She pointed toward a group of wires he’d yet to use. His eyes lit up, “Although you’re gonna want to make sure you have–” “A contingency, yeah, yeah yeah…” The raccoon finished her thought as he grabbed the pair of wires and began attaching them to the Moon-Destroyer 5000. Despite his hard exterior, she could feel the waves of gratitude coming off the rodent at her words. Peter stared at her in disbelief, “Stop helping him!” Elektra shrugged as she stood up, “We may need to blow up some moons.” “NOBODY’S BLOWING UP ANY MOONS!” Gamora and Peter yelled in unison.

Her hands danced across the buttons and levers, engines roaring as another group of guards appeared in front of them. “We got incoming,” Rocket warned and readied the thrusters. She could see four of them with more rocket launchers, and she knew that despite how fast M-class ships were, their shields could use a little work. She threw them up anyway. “Not for long,” Elektra muttered and thrust the ship into gear. It sped forward down the tunnel, knocking over the platoon. Rocket let out a cackle and shot several torpedoes behind them, blowing up whatever ships they might use to follow. Elektra smiled as the ship veered around a corner into the vast emptiness of outer space.
