Given these two are hella bougie and revel in being ostentatious, it's unsurprising that Marcus' gift reflects that entirely. As it's usually Nate that gets Marcus various types of artwork through his illicit job, Marcus decided to pay Nate back this year by procuring a rare painting on the black market for Nate to either add to his private collection or to sell on for profit in his work.

Warren & Eva

In one of the least surprising developments ever, Warren goes all out for his wife at Christmas. Now that they have all three of their children, Warren firstly gets Eva a joint gift from Harper, Oliver and Teddy (still toddlers and babies at this point ofc) to their mom, which this year was a spa membership for Eva so she can unwind when needed after so much lockdown home parenting when Warren was in the field xD.

From just himself, Warren bought Eva a pendant picture necklace that has two pictures inside - one of Warren and Eva and one of their children. He also bought her a dress that she mentioned she quite liked during a shopping trip once and a pair of heels too.

Abel & Mary

Does Abel care that he's getting something definitive for a married woman who isn't his wife? Of course he doesn't lmao. Therefore, Abel bought Mary a sleek gold bracelet with an engraving on the inside reading 'From A. x' He likes the idea of her wearing at least some form of jewellery from him that symbolises how she's his and not her husband's oops.

Sleep had always been a distant lover to Marcus, the man having functioned without ample amounts of sleep for many years, whether it had been because to his strictly intense duties in the Army or because of the demands of his political career that had followed. Akin to many politicians and ex-armed services personnel, Marcus could function on just a few hours rest each night and therefore it provided practically the perfect contrast to Nate. The thought went through Marcus’ mind each time the two of them shared a bed together, his lover always sleeping easily and peacefully next to him.

In just a thin black T-shirt and a pair of boxers, Marcus stared at the television screen as he kept his arm around Nate’s shoulders, his lover’s head resting on his chest. Netflix continued to blare from the screen and Marcus remained fully focused on the show despite the late hour. He chuckled slightly at a joke from the show and his gaze flicked down to see Nate’s reaction, only to find the other man with his eyes closed and resting peacefully on his chest. Marcus chuckled once more to himself, leaning in and softly pressing a kiss to the top of Nate’s head before he reached for the remote and turned the show off so they could watch it together in future. With that, Marcus rested his head back against the pillow and looked up at the ceiling whilst Nate slept upon him.
