No matter how many times he said it, and however many ways there were for him to say it, Brian was well aware that there was a part of Jasmine that did not want to hear him tell her that he loved her. Even if he had meant it from the bottom of his heart, he knew that she would always be hesitant to accept his love. But that did not stop Brian from loving her anyways. He loved her, and there was no one who could stop him from doing that for the rest of his life, not even Victoria. Her words caused him to crack a hint of a smile, and he could not help but stroke her cheek gently with his thumb. His smile grew wider upon seeing hers, and he chuckled. "Reckless would be an understatement to describe how you were back then. No one in this world would have ever dared to stand face-to-face with Brian Landry, and live to tell the tale. But you, Jasmine Sharma, were more than reckless. Not only did you have the nerve to walk right into my lair, the way that you did, but you also managed to walk right into my heart." He pointed out, his smile not fading from his lips as he spoke. "Well, what can I say? Talking has always been my strongest suit. They all think that I'm meeting with them to speak about some business deal, so that might ease the tension a little bit. I know that Victoria will have no problem hearing me out. But it's not her I'm worried about." Brian admitted, sighing as he wrapped his arms around her in a rather tight embrace. "There's no need to thank me, my love. If it means that I would get to spend the rest of my life with you in my arms, then I'm willing to risk everything."

Hi!! What kind of music are you into? Any favourite songs at the moment?
I am such a vocaloid bitch 💀 my favorite producers are KIRA, Giga, DECO*27, and Ghost and Pals
Other than that, The Oh Hellos is my favorite band, but I do like The Crane Wives (Take Me To War, Curses, and The Garden being my favorites)
I'm also a fan of MILGRAM so I like the trial songs, my favorite being The Purge March
Pretty big fan of Ado as well! I love Show, especially since it was produced by Giga and Teddyloid!
The Rhythm Doctor soundtrack is also one of my favorites. I can't choose for the life of me but I love Dreams Don't Stop (I also recommend this game in general it's such a fun rhythm game)
I also like ABBA and very specifically Brian David Gilbert's halloween parody covers AAH!BBA. My favorite is Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)
My music taste is very varied lmao, and my current most looped song on spotify is Talk Too Much by COIN because i keep imagining one of my ships to it
Another favorite song of mine is Stray Italian Greyhound by Vienna Teng. I can and Will apply it to all my ships
And a new song i've been listening to is Song of Friendship (And Definitely Not Love) by Jasmine Danasia. I love the vocals so much

Everything is coming up roses with showers of flowers in every garden. The weeds are still being pulled, but the blooms are on steroids in Cynthia Brian’s garden. Cynthia’s optimism for a great summer is at an all-time high because the hills are still green, beauty is bountiful, the birds are singing, butterflies are flitting about, and my garden smells like a perfume factory. Between the night jasmine and the fragrant roses, the aromas in the air spray the scents of botanical incense.
In writing her inaugural children’s book, “It’s Okay Not to Know,” Brenda Do intentionally created inclusive characters that all children can relate to. The story features whimsical characters untethered by race, gender, socioeconomic status, and physical ability. Cynthia Brian interviews Brenda about her children’s book.

Bio: Brenda Do
As a Chinese girl growing up in 1970s America, Brenda noticed that none of the books at school and in libraries featured characters who looked like her. Even at that young age, the lack of diversity made her feel excluded. Even worse, it planted a seed that she wasn’t as good as the kids pictured in the books.
So, in writing her inaugural children’s book, “It’s Okay Not to Know,” Brenda intentionally created inclusive characters that all children can relate to. The story features whimsical characters untethered by race, gender, socioeconomic status, and physical ability.
As a seasoned copywriter, Brenda expertly distills complex social-emotional learning themes into accessible narratives. “You know how adults often look back at their younger selves and think, If I only knew then what I know now...? I wrote this book to offer some of that knowledge. So, our young ones can get a head start at living their best lives,” she said.
Brenda’s goal is to provide caregivers with language that helps young learners feel confident even in moments of ambiguity and courageously face new experiences. Links

We are in receipt of information that's new
-the entire Eastern seaboard is under siege no just the areas of pseudo empire and they're under siege pretty soon the gathering place for all the weaponry has been opened in both cases of little ones and they are accessed and organizing and they intend to take over the Capital areas and it is an ongoing panel soon it will be a battle very soon
-this is an emergency the troops pretty much moved up there without too much incident but this is going to be an alert they are going to go after the pseudo empire and they will attack with Force and yeah it is a lot of force in that amount of stuff it will be going after the bunkers their area of operation and the areas that are intermittent in and some of those we don't want them in not many and they're going to have problems there
This is going on right now so we're going to publish
Thor Freya
Olympus
#the space battle has ensued it's going on right now and it is going on at Titan the tower ships Mars and there are areas where they're fighting in and see pseudo empire versus the remaining warlock ships it is a huge war in space now he warlocks are badly outgunned and out man and outnumbered they do not have enough ships and they don't have the ammo or armament to match and are going to get beaten and will be forced to pull out the stone chips and it's going on now and it will increase and ferocity because they will reach they'll get closer and closer to reaching no ships and the close they are to having none the more aggressive they will become and you can see it happening there are a couple other things
-along with this battle and war people should be aware they're fighting to get you away from our son they don't like you or your method or you being slobs or f*** or idiots and retards and they don't care for it and they are outlined any of you are going to be outlaws they are outlawing you
-this is no small deal they are putting your finger at you and saying you're not to return here and that point in their finger at the sky Trump a lot and they're saying that the max will keep you out too and we have the same you don't like what you doing and what you're saying now would not help you get in that's for sure. The empire will support them and outline people and you can see it in some movies you actually get out large let Josie Wales and they say he's not law in the movie
-and after time they will outlaw more but they're going to sit down and do that very soon they're saying that you can't outlaw Tommy F until his ship is out if you stress another hurricane they're going to outlaw him that is laughing a little but he knows that it entails and my son says the outlaw ad in the empire and you'll have a hard time going anywhere. Everywhere on Earth the empire and the pseudo empire will seek you out and his money on your head for someone to point you out or to detain you or hold you up
-we are listening to this you know what it is and better detail but you're right he will start getting paid to do stuff and our money is not so great and health is poor and I shouldn't have done it and he says right he says aren't you Mr wonderful and I'm starting to figure out something it's actually hard enough for him and I keep doing it and you can't bow to it his sister and tolerated and I've made it into a prison and it's not right and he is going to whip it out so we're waiting for that to happen and ignore him and we will probably disappear without knowing what's going on Trump and I find what he's saying to be vulgar I know it's going on he's an airhead I can't remember anything and he's stupid Max had him do all sorts of stuff they want to reverse it I'm running this Jasmine plan that we are discarding because we're stupid because of you Trump and I remember what it is and we need to out bja
Who's been going on all afternoon but Brian's right and Trump is an ass and doesn't know what he's talking about and people are going to kill him because he ruined their plan and he got shot that's true and he got shot after HMC and he would not stop showing up and it was after 2010 it would not stop showing up and he was at valley center throwing our son with an ax and he died cuz he started some sort of firefight around him and he was shot dead in the green zone in Iraq and people think it was Tommy yeah what time do you have and we do too and Tommy F had the opportunity and he was in the location and he could get in that unit and even his partner said that was a little bit much and at the wrong time is what he meant and I told him to shut up and said what would you have me do and he says he said not that it'll be in trouble with all of them and he said I'm going to be in trouble not all of you instead of standing right here I'm in trouble but then again you're right we're kind of both in trouble so they looked at that way and that's not what happened they went after them and their stuff and a ton of things start happening.
They are going to outlaw them and tell me if is included Tommy f is included and they're going to make sure that they understand their outlawed by telling them
-there's some other things you're going to happen very soon around here they can see them picking on our son constantly trying to threaten for stuff against them they're going to come in here and cut that short relatively short they said relatively soon and they mean it
-they're going to stop people from harassing them and what you're saying is you're not going to lose this battle I'm going to wipe them out and we believe they do they wipe them out this time and they wiped them out with three subsequent attempts and the morlock are fading away. Battling right now and the morlock have lost about 200 billion ships out of their 700 and there are few fleets about four that are about 700 billion but only one of them is engaging in his different morlock and they're fighting Tommy f and he has two of those leads and out of five the total number of ships is about 1.5 trillion but they're going to fight each other and this should be it for fleets up there it might be one more but it's smaller and Star Trek they will fight each other yes and it's going on right now we're notified that The fleets are moving all five in a sentence smaller contingents now they're going there to those three hot spots the fourth is off the Earth to fight and the battles will commence momentarily against Tommy f when he's out of the way the pseudo empire will move in.
-the ground force is going to be attacking the pseudo empire and for some reason they think it's good timing and they're going to get covered they don't really have it and they don't have it together it's going to be a big problem and they are going to commence the attack in moments and we do hear the attack over and over and lose
Our timing of the letters is good it will push them along and boy they need out
Thor Freya
This should be the last round of large space battles for the warlock before they're out of ships and have to pull them out of the ground and boy they lazy and slow and it just sat in the way of everyone and a pigs I don't deserve anything they don't think well and they don't plan well she's huge huge problem what they're doing. The simply do not want them here at all we don't want them here and pretty soon they'll be on we don't think they're going to make it and the islands will be cordoned off and they will be extinguished right now we're gearing up for such activities in the Midwest and upper Midwest and we are getting ready once they leave for combat there's not going to be many people left behind in two of the states and it is Michigan and Illinois they're going to be virtually empty and it is an analogy to the revolutionary war but in this case the rebels as it were Mack warlock will lose and the empire will be erroneously motivated and will push to do all sorts of things one of them is to get our son better digs and stuff to well that's satiate him calm him down and it's true and we are getting ready for this activity
Olympus
We are too and we understand it they're going to try and shut it down again and close the doors and oppress people and we don't want that we're at war it'll be a bad time for that to happen
This pseudo empire stuff is bad news just like my grandson said and Bill and will and Ken and he's in it and doesn't even like it but they said it's horrible they're going to just get taken over they don't really care because they can't do anything else and we see it coming and we are moving in
Shaquille O'Neal
It's going to be by force we're going to have to move in heavy have a nice have to do it we're going to have to do it now
Jet li
We need to carve out a piece for us or we won't have a presence there and we need to do it now
South American contingent
You don't have a hope or a prayer this place sucks real bad these people are morons the foreigners are going to move in that's fine and we can manure it but they got to get here and I don't see any for the most part
Garth
Yeah what kind of hanging back and we have to because they just are not working with us right now no we're not heading back and you should see us but I guess we can't you see anywhere around then we have to be they're right about somewhere about 20% in Florida similar elsewhere
Shaq
I guess you're right it's kind of a tough time but I really don't see it even in Miami so all those harsh to say I disagree I don't think it's working
Garth
I think it's right you're not looking at foreigners but we know how many there are
Shaq
This state is in sad's condition foreigners are not coming in and we are and we have to fight like crazy but we do these people keep trying to identify anybody but them and it's the pseudoampire too and we're going through them pretty quick Max are doing it too so it's really an imminent frontier we haven't encountered it for a while
Thor Freya
Did you see it's a living hell there and really it's too hard to get in and you can't stay our grandson's group is going in and they are craving a lot of people they're destroying them and really they're feared and they should be these people don't act respectful around him and you see them dying everyday they expect them to run in and kill them and they might he says and we get that
Jet li

The two currently existing Eidolonia books are together at last! My print copies of Ballad for Jasmine Town have arrived, and they look gorgeous next to their buddies (Lava Red Feather Blue and the faery artwork of Brian Froud).
The arrival of print copies, in the past, has SOMETIMES meant that online booksellers will start shipping the paperback before its official release date (June 4, 2024, in the case of Ballad for Jasmine Town) if you order it now. We aren't big-name enough to stop them. And hey, honestly, if you want it now and you get it now, I'm happy with that, so give it a try.

Honeydew (Marcus Pike/Moreno x OC) | Chapter 7
Tumblr media
Summary: Erin He moves to DC after working for the FBI in Texas and runs into a hero in disguise; Marcus Moreno. Something about him is familiar, too familiar, yet different in a way that she can’t quite place. Although confused, she can’t deny her feelings for him; perhaps, after years of regret, she finally found the one.
Warnings: food/drink mention, mention of dead loved one (Marcus’s wife), brief nudity, kissing

Honeydew masterlist
Like my writing? Here’s my masterlist.
Author’s Note: Here’s the next chapter! I wanted to let them have a moment to just be together after everything that happened, and this was one (of many) of them. Enjoy!
“I just don’t understand why it’s not working. It doesn’t make sense.”
Sometimes she wondered why she had to be a supervisor that knew how to code. If she were non-technical, like many of her past managers, she could have simply told the developer to do some code reviews with his colleagues. Well, it wouldn't have been that simple either way, but at least she would get to go home.
Erin sighed and sat down by Brian’s desk. The empty coffee cups and notebook with scribbled ink was a familiar sight, though his desk did seem to be missing one crucial thing: a rubber duck. “Let’s just take a step back and go through the logic, ok? So we have that….”
She and the developer went through the specifications for the updates and the high-level implementations that needed to be done. It seemed like he managed to get most of the framework for the code set up; all that was left was, well, writing the code and making sure it was correct. However, the deadline for shipping the code was coming up in the following days, and he was still at the debugging stage.
Although it had been a while since she’d programmed anything in a work-related context, she thanked the CS gods that she still remembered enough to take on some of the debugging. Conveniently, Brian had prior commitments that night and needed to leave on time–as if an engineer’s shift was ever truly over. But while there were others who could help out, something told her that it would be faster if she did some of the debugging herself. After all, she’d just spent half an hour reasoning through the logic.
“Why don’t you finish up as much as you can, push your changes to the repo, and I’ll take a look later?” she suggested, scanning the code. At first glance it looked fine–as most code normally did–but there were obviously issues somewhere that caused all the tests to fail. “I have some other work to do, but if we can get everything ready within the next couple days I don’t think they will mind the update being slightly delayed.”
With that, Erin went back to making her rounds through the work area, picking up any stray folders and getting last-minute status updates from the others. The sky was already dark, any trace of the sun long gone. Normally she would be getting ready to leave soon, but there was more work to do ahead of the op she was leading.
Ignoring the vibrations of her phone, she made her way back to her office and set up her desk to keep working. One thing she’d learned over her years of experience as a supervisor was that an organized desk was crucial for concentration. If only other aspects of her life were as organized as her desk.
It had been days since she found out about Marcus’s secret identity, but she couldn’t help but still feel utterly stupid. She was stupid to think that she could move on. That she, for once, was enough.
The truth was that she was never enough. She wasn’t enough to bring Marcus back after his disappearance, and she wasn’t enough to make hiding his past life unbearable.
She would have been lying if she said she didn’t consider breaking things off. But at the same time, she couldn’t bring herself to do it. He said that he and Pike were the same, that everything they had was real. And if that was true, then maybe things would get better. They could try to make things work, and show up for each other. After all, wasn’t that what caused the mess anyways? Them not being there for each other at the most important moments?
Someone knocked on her door.
Erin didn’t look up from her work. “Come in.”
“Hi honey.”
This time she looked up, a small smile on her face. “What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be at home with Missy?”
Marcus chuckled softly. “I guess I should, but my mom convinced her to stay the night so that we could have some alone time,” he explained, sitting in the chair in front of her desk. Eyes twinkling, he lifted a paper bag. “I texted you asking what you wanted for dinner but you didn’t reply, so I got your favorite.”
Now she really was smiling. “You brought canh chua? I’m sorry I didn’t reply, I’ve been running around the department trying to get everything together.”
“It’s alright; I figured you were busy, so I wanted to make sure you at least had dinner,” he said, pulling out the container of soup along with some utensils and a couple to-go bowls. “I know you love the bạc hà, so I asked for extra. They’re in one of the small containers, so we can add them in ourselves.”
“You’re too good to me.” Erin pushed her laptop to the side so he had more room to organize the slew of containers. The tamarind-flavored soup was often a treat rather than a regular meal, one that she normally savored in the cozy atmosphere of the Vietnamese restaurant. Her heart melted a little as she realized that Marcus had to have driven across town to get it from the restaurant.
“You deserve only the best.”
Some containers were filled with jasmine rice, fragrant and pillowy. Others overflowed with toppings like aromatic cilantro, spicy Thai chilis, and crisp bean sprouts. And, as promised, there was an extra container with fresh slices of bạc hà, the spongy stem of the elephant ear plant.
Her mouth watered as she helped fill the bowls with rice and soup, letting the golden broth soak into the grains. The tomatoes and pineapple chunks were perfectly cooked and plump, brightening the salty, nearly fruity, broth.
When she pushed the bowl towards Marcus he shook his head. “You eat first, Rin. You’ve had a long day. How was work?”
“Tiring,” she scoffed lightly, adding a questionable amount of chili to her bowl. The soup was still pleasantly warm when she scooped some into her mouth, the salt giving way to the fruity sourness and inferno of chilis. She moaned in satisfaction, “This is exactly why you are my favorite person in the whole world. Thank you for bringing this, brown eyes.”
He smiled softly, adding a significantly smaller amount of chili to his bowl. “Of course, honey. Just like the old times, huh?”
At that, Erin sighed. Sometimes she forgot that her memories of Marcus Pike were really of Marcus Moreno, and it still hadn’t ceased to be jarring when that realization hit. “Yeah.”
Noticing her hesitation, Marcus looked at her apologetically. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that–”
“No, it’s okay,” she interrupted, waving him off. “I just...I missed this. Us in an office sharing food in the evening. I never thought I’d ever get to experience this again, but now you’re here.”
His eyes softened and he reached over to hold her hand in his. Stroking the back of her hand softly, he said, “I know. I missed this too.” He shifted in his seat. “And I know we can’t go back to what we were before, but I don’t want you to feel like you need to separate our memories. They’re ours, honeydew. Nothing can take that away.”
“I know,” she said, eyes burning. “I’m sorry I’m not as happy–”
“It’s alright,” he interjected gently. “It’s not your fault. None of this is your fault.”
And, if she would let him, he was going to spend the rest of his days showing her how much she meant to him. It was a mistake–a huge one–to hide from her for that long. If time was money, he’d cost her so much. Maybe he wouldn’t ever be able to give those years back to her, but he could make the most of their time in the present. Now he just hoped his paperwork would get approved at HQ.
“I’m just so tired,” she said quietly.
Of everything. Of being herself, and of feeling like the biggest fool in the world for not realizing the man she loved had been in her life eight years ago.
She’d long since stopped caring about what her colleagues thought, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t pride herself on her intelligence and knack for details. With everything, she wasn’t quite sure what hurt most: the blow to her pride, or the fact that Marcus had lied.
But deep down, a part of her was happy. He finally came back, and while the past was wrought with cracks, the future felt...secure. And if there was anything she knew about Marcus, it was that he wore his heart on his sleeve, and that he wanted to stay for the long run. She knew that, no matter what, he wanted to make things right.
“Why don’t we head home after this, then?” he suggested, lips quirked up in a small smile. “They can’t get too mad if the smartest woman in the bureau takes the night off.”
---
“Would you like to stay?” she asked, unlocking the door to her apartment. Marcus’s car was parked in the visitors’ parking area, and it was starting to get late. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to.”
“I’d love to, if you’ll have me,” he answered, heat rushing up to his cheeks when her eyes met his. Even after all this time, he couldn’t get over the way she looked when she smiled at him like that. When she looked at him like he was everything she ever wanted.
They settled into the apartment as usual, with Erin checking on her plants and Marcus helping to plug in her laptop. Something about the way Erin moved around in the space was just...right. He’d seen her navigate government buildings and sites for operations, but at home, there was a different kind of confidence about her. It was a confidence that he knew only a select few were allowed to see.
Once they reached the bedroom, Marcus kissed her forehead and went into her bathroom. “Stay here, I’ll get a bath ready for you.”
Erin let out a huff of laughter at his eagerness, resigning to putting away her bag and changing into more comfortable clothes. As much as she loved a good suit, she also loved the warmth of sweatpants and the softness of silk. But seeing as she still needed to wash up for the night, she slipped on a silk nightgown, the hem stopping just above her knees.
Eventually, Marcus returned and led her into the bathroom, presenting her with a bathtub full of gardenia-scented bubbles and steaming water. He’d also found her electronic candles, placing them strategically so she could see in the dimmed lighting.
“It’s perfect, Marcus. Would you like to join me?” she asked, biting her lip in anticipation. The bathtub was just large enough for two people, and she wanted to know what it would feel like to be with him in her most vulnerable state. After all the secrets and waiting, she just wanted more .
He shook his head, trying to not let his mind linger too long on the way her nightgown hugged her chest like liquid gold. As much as he wanted to be with her, something told him that it wasn’t the right moment. “You’ve had to take care of yourself for so long, honey. Let me take care of you, ok?”
“But what about you?”
“Don’t worry about me.” Their lips melded together as their resolve grew strained. She tasted sweet and intoxicating, and it took all his strength to not give in. “You deserve to be treated like a queen. You’re my queen, and I want to make you feel good. Is that alright?”
She hummed softly and kissed him again. A low moan escaped her lips. “You really know how to make a woman conflicted, Marcus.”
“Sorry, it’s a bad habit.”
“I know you are. I’m just glad you’re here now,” she said. Pulling away, she stepped up next to the bathtub. Slipping the straps off her shoulders, she suggested, “If you’re not going to join me in here, why don’t you get comfortable and keep me company?”
The bath felt as amazing as it looked, the hot water melting away the tension in her muscles and the bubbles acting as a blanket to keep her modesty. Well, not that she hadn’t undressed in front of Marcus, but she wanted to keep some parts of her a surprise.
After some shy laughs, Marcus stayed by her side the entire time, sitting on the edge of the tub. It was just wide enough for him to sit comfortably, close enough that they could talk softly and he could help wash her hair. The golden glow of the candles and the warmth from the bath soothed their nerves until they were just two people in love.
Relaxed and back in her nightgown, Erin sat on her bed and checked her emails one more time. Thankfully, there weren’t any that she needed to reply to.
“Careful, hot tea incoming.”
She smiled up at Marcus, who was holding out a cup of steaming pu erh tea. Accepting it, she remarked, “I’m surprised you were able to find the tea leaves.”
“It helped that I remembered that you always have a designated cabinet.”
“I guess not that much has changed after all these years,” she said, sipping from the cup. As she did, she wondered if it was just herself that hadn’t changed.
“Dance with me?”
Her eyes widened in confusion when he broke the silence. “Hm?”
Marcus held out a hand, which she instinctively reached for. “Dance with me. Please?”
It didn’t take long for her to give in, setting the cup down on the nightstand. They swayed slowly in the bedroom, moonlight streaming in. Although there wasn’t any music, it was just what they needed. They just needed a moment in each other’s arms.
Erin’s head rested against his chest, the warmth from his body sinking into her. “I missed you so much,” she said softly.
“I missed you too.”
He missed her too.
But there was still something nagging at the back of her mind. Part of her didn’t want to disturb the peace, but she also wanted answers. Maybe it wasn’t the best time to ask him. Maybe it would undo everything. Before she could stop herself, she asked, “Can you tell me about your wife? Missy’s mom? Did she..?”
Marcus sighed softly, but not out of frustration. No, it was the kind that was borne of fondness. His arms tightened around her. “Yeah. We actually met not too long after I had my documents changed back. I didn’t want to tell her. I wanted a fresh start, but I still felt very much like Marcus Pike rather than Marcus Moreno. So, I told her about my past and we went from there.” A soft chuckle. “She was definitely shocked, but it was different because she never knew me as Pike, only Moreno.”
She wasn’t you, he wanted to say.
“I’m glad she knew,” she replied, snuggling closer to him. At least he told her, the mother of his child. It was...comforting to know that he hadn’t been all alone during those years. Eight years was a long time to keep a secret. “And what about now? Do you still feel like Marcus Pike?”
“Some days I feel more like Pike,” he admitted. “But with Missy and the Heroics, I feel like I’ve settled into being Marcus Moreno. It took a few years, but….Pike will always be a part of me. It wasn’t ever not me, just…a different side.”
“I see.” When his arms shifted, Erin clung to him tighter. “Don’t leave. Please.”
Marcus kissed her temple, his lips soft and warm. “Never again, honey. I’ll be here until you’re tired of me.”

Fair Winds and a Following Sky - Part 9
Ansgar Martinsson’s Flat. 21 July. 0315 hours
Anna wasn’t entirely sure what woke her.
But when she did wake, she felt an odd, jumbled up sensation, a strange thump in her chest - a powerful knowledge of safety and comfort mixed in with a crippling panic that, for a few seconds, she had no idea where she was.
She stretched and moaned, her joints protesting, her mind muzzy after hours and hours of sleep. Where her skin touched the bedsheets she found them soft and warm, luxuriously so, and the duvets above her were a solid, cloud-like weight, their scent something like jasmine. Rolling over on to her back, she finally allowed herself to open her eyes.
The room was dark, save for a glow from the open door. She turned her head toward the other side of the room, eyes widening at the tapestry of twinkling lights that stretched from one side of the wall to the other, top to bottom. “Holy shit,” she muttered as she sat slowly up, stretched once again, and, dropping her hands to her crossed legs, gazed out the immense set of windows.
She was drawn to it. Not really knowing how, she found herself standing before it, her palms flat on the glass, peering like a child at the world below. She’d never seen anything quite like it, Stockholm. It was nothing like the view of Dallas she’d seen from the Travidge Property offices on one of the top floors of the Bank of America Building, nothing like the view from the hayloft of her barn... or, what had been her barn.
This was something entirely different. The buildings were shadowed, but lit at the same time. Smaller brick and stucco edifices, reaching spires, bridges, ships, trains, thousands of tiny windows outlined the shape of winding streets and glowing, almost flaming rivers. No, not rivers, she reminded herself. Not rivers. What was the word? Fjords.
This, she remembered, was not home. She was not home. She was somewhere else altogether. Somewhere strange. Somewhere... she was not entirely prepared for.
She’d just pressed her forehead to the pane to follow the path of a cyclist on the road below when she heard it. She stiffened, pushed back from the window and turned her head, her ear toward the open bedroom door. Again, the sound, and in quick succession two, three... four more times.
“What the....” she held her hands out before her, feeling her way back across the foot of the expansive bed to the door. She pushed it open the rest of the way and stepped into the dimly lit hallway. The punctuated, percussive, irregular noise drew her to the right, and she continued past four more doors, around a corner and finally to a room situated at the end.
The door was partway open, the light coming from the room was an incandescent gold, and there was music, then - not loud, but the definite chest-deep thrum and screaming wail and speed-crash of some sort of heavy metal band. There were words, but either they were too muffled for her to hear or growl-shouted in a language she couldn’t understand.
Probably the latter.
She crept along the wall, not wanting the occupant of the room to discover her there, and arriving at the edge of the door, she bent her head to peer in. Upon seeing the source of the strange noises, she turned and stood against the door jamb, her hands clutching the wood as she stared at what she found inside.
It was him. Alan... no, Ansgar. His back was to her, and Heaven help her, his upper body was bare. He wore only a pair of black and silver boxing shorts; padded black fingerless gloves on his hands. The noise she’d heard was the dense and heavy thwap! of his fists, and an occasional thump! of a barefooted kick against a massive heavy bag, punctuated by harsh breaths and feral grunts. Over and over, he threw his entire weight through his fists or through the top of his feet, making the bag recoil - almost murdering the thing with each blow.
She watched him -- studied his lithe, graceful, yet viciously barbaric movements as he went through his pugilistic paces -- and a small smile played on the corners of her lips. He was heavier than she’d remembered him. Broader shoulders, narrower waist, albeit with a minuscule amount of pudge, but that was okay. At least, she thought, he wasn’t so thin she could see his ribs like before.
Now, in place of the visible cage of bone, the thick muscle of his writhing, twisting back seemed to span eternity. Even his tattoos loomed larger - the scar-ruined crest on his upper arm was darker, wider; and the branches on his back were longer, reedier, more apt to schuss in the wind like she imagined they were doing right then.
Fighting a wash of giddiness, she closed her eyes and allowed herself to wonder what the flesh of that back would feel like under her hands. She reveled in how she would entwine herself within his arms, bury her face in his chest, curl her fingers and create striped runnels in the thin sheen of sweat that coated his skin. How she would taste him - trace her tongue along the lines of distinct definition on his arms, his abdomen, along the back of his neck, would cup her hand beneath his tight little....
“The hell are you doing here?”
Her eyes flew open. “I... uh....”
He panted, his lungs making use of his whole body to siphon gouts of air. He stood hunched and beast-like, shoulders rounded, hands clenched and dangling at his sides. “Close your... your mouth,” he grunted. “You look like... a moron... standing there gawping... at me.”
She obeyed. Her teeth clacked shut and her eyebrows shot nearly to her hairline. “I’m sorry to butt in and all, I just... heard... noises, and....”
He quirked a small grin, and the tension in his body and his aspect quickly softened, humanized. “Relax. Its okay.” He picked up a towel and mopped at his face, pushing the terry cloth back through his dripping hair. “I apologize for waking you. I thought, actually,” he lifted a water bottle and took a long, deep draw, letting go with a loud ah!, “thought you’d sleep at least until morning... either that or,” another pull from the bottle, “mmm.. or I’d have to wake you with a kiss or something.”
She blinked. “A... kiss?”
He chuckled, gesturing to her with the open mouth of the Hydroflask. “Sleeping Beauty, you know? Sleep of the dead, prince’s kiss, and all that shit.”
“Oh, no,” she giggled nervously. “You didn’t wake me up, I... wait. Until morning, you said? What time’s it now?”
Ansgar peered up at the circular analog clock on the gym wall. “Half three, from the looks of it.”
She cocked her head and ventured a step into the gym. “Why’re you up? Shouldn’t you be sleeping?”
He shook his head. “Don’t for that long usually.” He straddled a bench and proceeded to towel sweat from the rest of his body. Anna sighed quietly, regretting the lost opportunity to fulfill her girlish fantasy. “Besides, I had some things... some work to take care of.”
“At three in the morning?”
“Nah,” he breathed. “I finished at about half one. Been in here ever since.”
“Okay, so, let me ask it this way. Do you always beat the shit out of your heavy bag at three in the morning?”
“I take the opportunities when they arise.” He shrugged, leaned his elbows on his knees, pulled off his gloves, and began unwrapping his hands and wrists. “One has to find a way to divest oneself of one’s pent up aggression. Better than beating the shit out of another person in the daylight, eh?”
“Or under a halogen lamp,” she bowed her head, hiding her sly grin behind the curtain of her long bed-mussed hair, “just after sunset.”
“I suppose,” he sniffed, his lips curving into a wry smile. “Bring back some long lost memories, did it? Seeing me fight? Standing back and watching me pummel things?”
“I never lost those memories,” she murmured. “I remember everything about you. Everything.”
***
Nowhere, Oklahoma. Two Years Prior. Two Weeks Earlier
He was, in Anna’s vocabulary, plumb ornery.
It had been a long, sweltering hot day of work on the barn. Progress, yes, but progress wrought with frustration. Wrought with a table saw that decided to fucking die in the middle of a rip cut. Wrought with a twenty-foot extension ladder that was nearly shoved over - with him on top of it - by a pair of horny goats. Wrought with the throbbing, stinging reminder of the consequences failing to wear long sleeves, a hat, or to reapply sunscreen to his unaccustomed Nordic skin.
In a word, he was angry, shaken, exhausted, and quite sunburnt.
Not to mention hungry.
Anna was away in Oklahoma City. Steak dinner taken with a prospective client, the owner of a newborn Arabian. He, in contrast, choked down a peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich on bland American bread followed by the next course - a disgustingly sweet half can of Mountain Dew garnished with two Advil. The dissatisfaction with his paltry meal only added to his ire.
He threw himself onto the sofa, hissing as his reddened neck rubbed against the rough horse blanket. He lifted his legs gingerly, groaned, and rest his stockinged feet on the coffee table, where retrieved his book. This, he opened - preparing to delve into the mysterious world of Nero Wolfe, to forget the troubles of the day, of the world... of his life....
He’d barely managed to read two paragraphs of Archie Goodwin’s biting commentary before he succumbed to his toilworn body’s insistent demands for sleep.
He didn’t hear the wail of screeching brakes and a crunching skid of tires on gravel, or the other set of the same sounds that followed. He didn’t hear the  heavy, hollow thunk! thunk! of one truck door slamming shut, then another. He didn’t hear Anna’s angry “Go home, Brian. Not now,” or the furied scuffle of bootsteps moving at a rapid pace through the grit. The pace quickly halted, replaced by a shuffling struggle, kicks and scuffs....
... and a scream.
“Brian, let... go! Aah! Fucking... get off me!”
That scream, that is what he heard; and what drew him immediately up, off the sofa, pelting across the living room and out the front door. The door banged on its hinges as he yanked it open, his still unshod feet all but carrying him in flight down the front porch.
He didn’t think; he simply acted. Acted in response to her continued screams, to her frightened cries and huffing struggles. He didn’t really see what Brian Travidge was doing to Anna, not really. All he knew was that the hulk of a man was on her, was somehow molesting her, was... hurting her.
“Get the fuck off!” he bellowed. He dug his fingers into the meat of the man’s shoulders like eagle talons and yanked, catching him off guard and tossing his bulk to the ground. “Stay down!” he commanded, and turned his attention, albeit briefly to Anna. “Get inside and lock the door.”
“I can handle this, Alan. I -- ”
“No!” he barked. “Just go!”
“Alan --”
“Go!”
Anna nodded, clutched her handbag around her like a protective shield and ran to the house. She did as he ordered and locked the door behind her; but she couldn’t help it. She knelt, child-like, upon the window seat, pressed her hands to the pane, and watched.
She watched as he hovered over Brian, yelling, screaming, spit spraying like fire from his lips. She watched as Brian shot to his feet, shoved his shoulder into Alan’s middle and slammed him into the gravel. Alan rolled, pushed up on his hands and knees and managed to get to his feet even with Brian’s weight on his back. The men continued to scuffle and skirmish, the advantage slipped back and forth between them; a jab to the gut here, a hook to the kidney there, a headbutt, a kick to the knee, a flip over the shoulder....
.... until Brian was once again on the ground, and Alan bent viciously, yet slightly wobbly, over him. “Stay down!” he yelled once again; but Brian, once again, disobeyed. Her brother in law got slowly to his feet, his eyes blazing, boring into Alan’s as he rose.
And before Brian could move, before Brian could speak, Alan twisted back and shot his fist into the side of Brian’s head. Brian reeled, shook himself like a wet dog, and sat down hard in the dirt.
She watched as Alan lifted Brian from beneath his armpits and shoved him against the side of the man’s F-450. She didn’t hear what Alan said to him, but it was clear from the tight clutch of Alan’s left hand around the collar of Brian’s t-shirt, from the raised finger of the right hand, from the wide stance and the almost serpent-like movements of his head that it was a threat, and a quite malevolent one at that.
And finally, she watched as Brian turned, wrenched his truck door open and scampered inside. Alan stepped back, arms out to his sides in mock invitation. Brian cranked the engine to life and the truck’s tires spun in the gravel. Before she knew it, the truck was out of sight, leaving Alan, arms still open, silhouetted against a white-lit cloud of driveway dust.
She sighed, “Oh, God,” and covered her face, bellowing her pent up anger into her hands. She felt sick - the medium-rare filet with bleu cheese felt like a wodge in her gut. She curled up against the wave of nausea and and rest her forehead on the edge of the window seat. She remained there, breathing, trying desperately to sluice away the fear and confusion of the past half hour, trying to rid herself of the image of Brian’s twisted, cruel face, of the echoes of his terrible words... Whore. Fucking slut. Injun bitch.
She expected to hear Alan’s footsteps on the porch, expected to hear the door open, maybe even expected... wished.... to feel his arms around her, to reassure her, for her to comfort him. But no sound came. The door didn’t open, and no matter how devoutly she wanted it, she did not feel his touch.
“Alan?” She sat up, shoved her hair from her face and peered out the window. She gasped at the sight of him, unmoving, unconscious and spread-eagle on the ground. “Oh my God! Alan!” Her legs carried her, just like his had earlier, out the front door, down the porch steps, and out into the stark-white pool of street light....

Sorry, but you’re just living my childhood dream.
Also, you’re an aerialist?
That’s also so cool.
Brian would find you so cool, like how you just perform acrobatics, dance and you’re a mermaid.
Sorry, that’s still sinking in.
Brian would love that you’re animal friendly and creative.
Brian would also find your personal style really interesting and unique as well.

Hello! I saw that you were doing ships and I'm interested if they're still open? If so, could I please get ships for The Beatles, Queen and Bohrap? I will be sending a few of these to give a full description so I'm sorry for the spam! I never exactly know what to put in these! So, My name is Jasmine, I'm Australian and I speak English, German, Czech (Gotta love family that doesn't speak English..) and Japanese. I've always been considered the 'artsy' person among my peers. (1/5)

Hi! I don’t do ships for the Beatles (but you know that) and I can absolutely give you a Queen ship and a borhap ship!
I can see you with Brian!
Tumblr media
I can also see you with Rami!
Tumblr media
I see both these guys as relatively shy or quiet but they seem to come out of their shells while performing very much like you. Obviously they each have their own little quirks but I think that’s part of the reason they’d love yours!

Nell is in a floral print top with a Peter Pan collar and a mustard colored coat.  Dark blue suit for Hetty.
Music:   "Theme from JAG" by composer Bruce Broughton plays when Mac walks into the restaurant.
Any notable cut scene: No.
Quote: Hetty:  "And I'll have the filet mignon.  Uh, I'd like it burned on the outside and bloody on the inside, like my enemies." Mac:  "She's so funny.  So where were we?" Yashnikov:  "You accused me of running a network of spies inside the U.S. military."
Anything else:   At the Eastern Iraqi border at night, soldiers are with missiles mounted on trucks.  They are waiting for orders to fire.  When they come, the men must be ready to go quickly.
On the Allegiance, Harm, Callen and Sam are in the Communications Room (CIC) connecting to Kensi, Deeks and Eric in Ops.  Speaking freely because everyone in the CIC has top security clearences, Eric shows a diplomatic license plate captured on traffic cams outside of Olivia Baird's office.  The vehicle is registered to the Russian Consulate.  Anton Yashnikov was seen entering Olivia's office building.  He works for the Russian State Department and travels to the U.S. regularly.
None of this makes any sense to Callen.  Michael Baird was Chechen.  Chechens don't work with Russians and Russians don't support ISIS.  Sam does think that the Russian involvement explains the financial wherewithal for such a long-term operation.  Checking Yashnikov's cell phone records, he's received calls from a motel near LAX.  Deeks thinks Olivia Baird is there – Kensi and Deeks are on their way.
Callen and Sam ask Eric to track down all crew members of the Allegiance who were in the area where Agent Lee was seen.  "That's a lot of people," Eric tells them.  Callen and Sam ask about Nell, who is in San Francisco.  Eric has been handling everything alone.  Callen and Sam would like an update when Eric hears from Nell.
Deeks confirms with the hotel manager that Olivia Baird is a guest – room 116.  Breaking down the door, Kensi and Deeks see Olivia Baird with a weapon pointed at them.  Saying someone killed her husband, Olivia is scared.  She doesn't know who to trust.  Kensi and Deeks encourage her to put the gun down.  Once Deeks secures the weapon, Kensi handcuffs Baird and Mirandizes her.
Eric has cleared seven crew members – just 350 to go – when Hetty pops up on the big screen.  She is sympathetic to his work load.  She is also sympathetic to Nell, who updated Hetty on her mother's worsening condition.  Eric is not happy to hear this but has to go back to his work.  Knowing Eric needs help, Hetty tells him Fatima is on assignment but help is on the way.  Hetty does a countdown to the Ops doors opening.  In walks Jasimine Garcia, former USMC, onetime suspect and now NCIS Agent from the San Diego office.  Hetty wants them to play nice.
Grabbing Nell's tablet, Jasmine has an app that scans security video for full faces, dumps the images into facial rec and matches them with personnel records.  Eric feels territorial – this is his very special Ops.  Not happy with Eric's insecurities, she is getting angry.  Eric doesn't want Jasmine to be angry.
Back to the search, the crew members matched in the area near where Agent Lee was last seen is matched with crew members who played Viking War Blood video game in the computer room.  Eric is impressed when within a minute, they have a name.  Petty Officer Vincent Davis.  Jasmine contacts Callen and Sam – who are her mentors.   Eric jumps Jasmine’s reveal, telling Callen and Sam that they need to speak to PO Davis.  Thinking Eric's move was cute, Jasmine is there to catch some bad guys.
Davis sees Callen and Sam in mess and runs.  "I hate when they do that," Callen says as he and Sam chase Davis.  Davis is clotheslined by Harm, who wants to know where Davis is running?  Sam answers "Mystery of the universe" to why the bad guys always run.
Eric and Jasmine update Callen and Sam on Davis’s background.  Like Michael Baird, he took his wife's surname when they were married.  Vincent Davis was born Vincent Shishani.  And like Michael Baird again, he is from Chechnya.  Eric and Jasmine are going to track Davis's movements around the time Agent Lee was killed.
Worried about the ship, Harm needs to know what Davis's true mission is.  If it is gathering intelligence, Harm needs to track was information Davis could access.  If it is a terrorist act against the Allegiance, something could happen soon.  Harm needs to know if it is an attack and wants to observe Callen and Sam's interrogation.
Sam asks Davis why he ran.  Pointing as much as he can to Callen – his hands are folded with handcuffs on his wrists – Davis ran because he thought Callen, someone he never saw before, was looking at him in a menacing manner.  With 5,000 crew members on the Allegiance, Sam is sure Davis doesn't know all of them, why did he feel threatened.  Davis says it was a vibe.  After Agent Lee's death – Davis and Lee spoke a few times and Davis liked Lee – Davis is scared.
Callen tells Davis they know he is Chechen and Muslim, why did he change his name?  "Maybe because of harassment like this," Davis answers.  Davis asks if it is a crime to be Muslim.   "I'm a Muslim and proud of it," Sam replies.  "And there is not crime in it," Sam continues except if you are acting as a terrorist or killed Agent Lee.  Davis denies killing Lee and being a spy.
Harm interrupts the questioning just as Davis asks for a lawyer.  They are needed back in the CIC.  As Callen and Sam leave, Harm tells Davis he's a lawyer.  As a lawyer, he can advise Davis that if he is there to do harm (not that Harm) to the ship or crew, Davis is going to need a lot more than just a lawyer.
Still in handcuffs and on the bad side of the interrogation table, Olivia Baird is weeping, stunned to hear her husband was a Chechen spy.  Calling her husband good and kind, talking about their future and having children, Olivia thinks this is all insane.  Kensi and Deeks don't.  They bring up Anton Yashnikov.  Olivia confirms she knows him – she's a movie producer.  "With zero credits," Deeks adds helpfully.  Kensi asks if she was moonlighting as a spy.  Olivia claims she was researching movie ideas.  Kensi and Deeks can connect Olivia to Vincent Davis and playing Viking War Blood.  It is time for Olivia to start helping – "tick tock," Deeks tells her.
Olivia closes her eyes and exhales.  She is no longer crying.  With a thick Russian accent, she tells Kensi and Deeks she doesn't know very much, full knowledge of the operation was limited.  She won't cooperate any further until she gets clearance from Yashnikov.  Something has gone wrong with the mission.  Deeks agrees – Oliva was caught.  "No, it is something far, far worse."
Eric and Jasmine have footage of Lee's body going overboard.  200-feet away, there video of Davis walking inside the Allegiance passageways.  He did not kill Lee, which means Davis is not a lone wolf terrorist.  There are other crew members involved.
The Commanding Officer enters the CIC.  Turning to Callen and Sam, he wants to know if his ship is in danger.  Sam can't give him an answer.  Handing a tablet to Harm, the CO tells Callen and Sam about troop build-ups in Iran for a planned attack on both Israel and Saudi Arabia.  The Allegiance is being ordered to the coast off Iran as a deterrent.   If there is a terror threat on the ship, however, the Allegiance will be pulled.  With dozens of crew members to interview, Sam wants to talk to the SEAL Team he saw on the vessel.
Waking the SEALs at 3AM, Harm is asking for their help.  The head SEAL is Senior Chief Frank Wallace, who could be Sam's brother.  The SEALs, Wallace tells Callen, Sam and Harm, are on a classified mission that is their top priority.  Sam drops his name and the SEALs are impressed.  So is Callen by the reaction.  If Sam asks the SEALs to help the SEALs want to help.  After being brought up to speed – and shocked that there are foreign operative aboard the Allegiance – Wallace announces "God help them if we find them" planning an attack like the one on the USS Cole.   With 80-crew members as suspects, the SEALs will pick them up.  Chief  Wallace just needs to know where to put them.
Arriving at Ups, Kensi and Deeks update Callen, Sam and Harm on Olivia Baird, Yashnikov and something going terribly wrong.  Hetty arrives with a plan to help.  Callen and Sam need help – Kensi and Deeks are on their way to the Allegiance.   Using the Marine Liaison to the Secretary of State, Hetty thinks she can talk to Yashnikov.  "Yes Captain, and she's right here in Los Angeles," Hetty tells Harm.  With the JAG theme playing, Mac meets Hetty at a fancy Los Angeles eatery.
After winning the coin toss (YAY!), Mac took the promotion and moved to San Diego with Harm, who passed up his in London opportunity.  Harm needed to get back into the fight.  After living separate lives, Harm went back to the sea, became an XO and is on track for his own ship and eventually becoming an Admiral.  The Secretary of State offer her the liaison position meaning the pretense of their marriage was over.  They have not seen each other for nine years.  Hetty is sorry but Mac isn't.  While Mac tells Hetty she is living a good life, Hetty thinks there are more chapters to be written.
Arriving for lunch, Yashnikov walks in with his mistress.  Mac mentions Yashnikov is a regular at the restaurant and a little more adventurous in the bedroom.  Hetty finds this news delightful and asks for an introduction.  Mac agrees.
Sharing some champagne with his mistress, Yashnikov is surprised see Mac in Los Angeles and not Washington.  She makes a joke about being let off her leash which he really seems to enjoy.  Not enjoying, when Mac wants Yashnikov to join her at lunch and points out Hetty at her table.  "For most, it is not a good day when she shows up."  No, Mac explains, the bad part is by the door – Olivia Baird is there in handcuffs between two NCIS Agents.
Joining Hetty – who gives one of the best restaurant orders in the history of food – and Mac at their table, Yashnikov is interrogated by Mac.  Asked about the network of Chechen spies – not a group usually in favor with Putin, Yashnikov believes if it is true, it has to do with plausible deniability.  If they are caught, they are Chechen troublemakers, not honorable Russians who had nothing to do with whatever was planned.  Mac doesn't believe Yashnikov's weak lies.  As with the US President, Yashnikov doesn't think his lies have to be good.
Yashnikov wants to know what else the government knows about the operation.  Hetty brings up Olivia Baird's warning about trouble in the plan.  If the Chechens were being made into Russian spies, maybe they turned against Russia and are listening to their ISIS leaders.  Hetty demands the names of the spies.  Yashnikov can't help.  It was a double blind set-up. Everything was run using the video game.  Leaving, Yashnikov won't tell Olivia to help.  Hetty and Mac think they make a good team.
Chief Wallace is looking for a Seaman Marlo in a bunk.  Finding Marlo dead with his throat cut, Wallace orders another crew member to find Callen and Sam.  With a cellphone photo of Marlo, Callen and Sam ask a sleepy PO Davis about Marlo.  Since he has been locked in interrogation since his capture, Davis is sure he's not a suspect.  Sam wants to know who are the other operatives onboard since one of them is likely killing the others to maintain operational integrity.  With an alibi for the murder, Davis isn't cooperating.  Neither is Callen who is fine with releasing Davis.  Suddenly Davis isn't leaving.  Sam tells him, walk or talk.
Davis can't really help.  All contact was made through the video game or dead drops on the ship. Callen asks if the Chechens have gone rogue.  Davis was given orders that they were no longer working for the Russians, they were working with their brothers in Syria. The spies were going to be given instructions for when the great jihad begins.  Callen thinks Davis is very calm since he's going to jail for life.  Telling Callen and Sam he isn't going to jail, Davis cut a deal with Agent Lee.  He was going to work for "the CIA guy" – David Williamson.  Lee was likely killed when the Chechen spies saw him with Davis.
In the CIC room, Harm is able to confirm that David Williamson was a civilian contractor on the Allegiance who was then dropped off in Iraq.  It is a CIA undercover name – Williamson was not the man's real name and he was not a contractor, Callen explains.  Sam recognizes Williamson from security video as he is on board.  Hello Vosanik Sabitino.
The CO arrives – the Allegiance is moving to Iranian coast.
The men from the teaser are waiting for their orders.  The missiles will be fired into Tel Aviv and Riyadh.
Furious, the CO was not made aware that the CIA had a man on his ship and that it was facilitated by an NCIS Agent.  Sam assures the CO that Lee would have briefed him but was killed instead.  More worrisome to Callen is that Lee was killed immediately but the spy he turned – Davis – was left in play.  Eric calls in with Mac from the super-secret Ops location.  She and Harm share a meaningful stare over introductions.  Mac spoke with the CIA – they are denying everything.
Callen and Sam are called away for a minute, leaving Harm and Mac alone.  He's a little tongue tied.  She thinks the sea suits him.
An update is given to the CO.  Sabatino was taken from an airbase to a remote area in the desert.  Spy cameras show a mobile unit.  Callen reroutes Kensi and Deeks from the ship – they are four hours out from the regional Naval air base – to Sabatino's general location.  Sam assigns Chief Wallace to join the Sabatino hunt.
Thinking the best way to track the spies on the ship is through the video, Mac wants Olivia to return to the video game as a way to identify the crew members.  Sam heard she wasn't willing to help without Yashnikov's approval.  Mac may have a way to convince him.
LAPD breaks into Yashnikov's hotel room.  He is tied to the bed, wearing a leash with his young mistress standing over him on the bed.  Mac walks in and takes a few photos – "Is your wife on Instagram?" she asks.  Yashnikov is forced to order Olivia to help.  Besides, the Russians need to know what the rouge Chechen spies have planned as much as the Americans.
Chief Wallace finds Kensi and Deeks at the Al Asad military base's airport.
In the CIC, a Navy translator is walking Callen, Sam, Harm and the CO through a speech given by the Iranian president, claiming the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia are behind the kidnapping of two Iranian scientists.  "Conflict" with Israel and Saudi Arabia is imminent and unavoidable.
Wearing local garb, Kensi, Deeks and Wallace are dropped off by a helicopter.  Walking to a structure in the desert, they are set upon by three men.  One is Sabatino.  He's pissy about not being invited to the wedding.  Oh, and stopping World War Three.
A French journalist, Alexandra Duvivier, met with a former ISIS leader Muhammad Pliyev in Iraq.  ISIS sent a hit team to kill them both.  The two escaped and were thought to be near Sabatino's mobile unit, which looks like a not so nicely decorated NCIS mobile Red/Blue/whatever team truck.
Kensi asks what is the big deal about Pliyev?  He has information about 13 missiles ISIS commandeered over the years.  They are planning a false flag operation – make it look like Iran is attacking Israel and Saudi Arabia.  The speech by the president of Iran was faked.  With ISIS on its last legs in Syria, if they can cause problems between Iran, Israel and Saudi Arabia, they can seize power in all the chaos.  If the missiles launch and the US can't keep Israel and Saudi Arabia from retaliating, the fake start to the conflict will be forgotten.  The reports about troop movements are also false.  If the US can find Duvivier and Pliyev and get their story out, all the conflict can be halted.  Problem is, there is an ISIS hit team on the way to Sabatino's little bunker in the desert.
Running into the armory, Eric talks to a weeping Nell on the monitor.  Mama Jones has been intubated, there is an infection in the lining of her heart.  While Eric wants to leave and be with her, Nell tells him to stay – the team needs him.  Hetty shows up.  "The United States can muddle through without you for a few days."  She orders him to San Francisco.  A grateful Eric kisses Hetty goodbye.  Hetty tells Nell her mother is strong, Nell is strong.  Nell needs to tell her mother what Hetty tells herself every morning – keep punching.
Two SUVs pull up outside of the CIA bunker.  It is Iraqi intelligence, Sabatino knows their leader, Fadhil Sarraf.  Deeks asks if Sabatino trusts Sarraf.  Since Sabatino doesn't trust Deeks, why would he trust Sarraf?  Deeks thinks Sabatino is still annoyed about the wedding.
With no usable intelligence on the location of Duvivier and Pliyev, Sarraf instead complains about the size of the CIA secret bunker.  Sabatino warns Sarraf if Iraqi Intelligence can't find Duvivier and Pliyev, he will.  Starting in six hours.  Sarraf calls Sabatio's decision "stupid and impatitent, my friend."  Sabatino denies having time or being his friend.
Playing Viking War Blood in the boat shed, Olivia explains she contacts the spies in coded language and they reply if they are safe.  While she is playing, Jasmine and Mac are watching the computer room on the big screen from a security camera feed.  It could take a while.
Sabatino is planning to find Duvivier and Pliyev when Sarraf and his men pull up.  They claim to have the Duvivier and Pliyev but aren't showing them.  Looking at Sarraf's men, Sabatino doesn't recognize any of them.  One of them shoots Sarraf – it was a set up to find the CIA's bunker.
The hit team takes out the power to the bunker.  An emergency generator keeps the lights on as Sabatino calls in for an emergency evacuation.  Deeks sees about half-a-dozen men outside and figures there's twice that many around the bunker in the weeds.  As Wallace sets up near the main door, Kensi sees one of the hit squad member setting up explosives to blow the door off its hinges.  She orders Wallace to move.  As Sabatino calls in their location, the others take cover.
Back in the boat shed, Olivia found a player - Gunners Mate Michael Skinner.  Harm calls the name and computer location to Callen and Sam in interrogation.  Two SEALs get to Skinner before Callen and Sam.  Skinner runs.  In the passageway, Skinner pulls a gun and shoots the two SEALs.  The crewmembers tend to the SEALs while Callen and Sam pick up the chase.
Harm is following this up on the CIC.
Passing two men playing checkers, Skinner orders them to follow and they do.  Callen and Sam are not far behind.
The door is blown off the CIA bunker.  Gunmen enter firing.  Calling to Kensi, Deeks takes cover as she moves closer to him.  In the middle of all the shooting, Kensi and Deeks share I love yous.
Skinner and his fellow spies make their way to the DCC – Damage Control Center.  They kill two of the five people working in the center, ordering the others on their knees.  Promising to shoot anyone who moves, the men lock the door and secure it with a fire axe.
Sam explains to Callen that the DCC controls all communications, firefighting and alarms.  Callen adds they have hostages.
The CO enters the CIC to speak to Harm.  The ISIS fired the missiles.  They will hit their targets in seven minutes.
To be continued.
What head canon can be formed from here:   Certainly not as cliff-hangery as last year, this two-parter was off to a solid start.  Here's hoping season 11's premiere pays it all off.
Episode number:   240 – ten episodes from 250.  240 – 13 more episodes that JAG.  This is episode 24 of season ten; part two of three.
