If it's consolation for you and other fans, it seems Shinji did love her, and is thankful because she loved him, but due to the time skip, they had to move on. Not because "It's toxic" like other people say. or that they could "never work" (This is what I read btw) But I agree with you that this is not Asuka Soryu. I'm confused what happened to her or if she ever existed on the rebuild. This is Shikanami story. And your story is yours only. The OG series + EoE is intact no matter what. Hugs <3

🔥VOTOMs, Evangelion

Chirico is just like Master Asia in that their Mecha serve as a limiter rather than making them stronger. I dunno about VOTOMs hot takes other than that more of Chirico's friends would have been nice to see.

For EVA the main cast are kids so a lot of the Discourse is some bullshit. As much as I like EVA, Gunbuster is far better in my opinion. EVA is still miles above TTGL and lightyears above Diebuster tho. Rebuild is ok but 3.0 was ass. All of the adults have problems and I have a huge gripe with one of the characters that never has karma catch up to them. EVA is GOOD anime but I'd be hard pressed to say it's definitive watch material that everyone could enjoy. It's got a slow start till things pick up. also it's literally fake deep and half Anno's take on Ultraman and Mazinger Z with a dash of Devilman, Ideon, and a big serving of depression at the end. Soryu >>> Shikanami. Also End of EVA is like Do You Remember Love where you NEED the context of the original series to enjoy it.
