You may feel free to delete this if this isn’t your thing, but I’ve been thinking of very protective Shigs. Like your family says something out of line? He’s gripping you against his side and having quite a few words with that family member, rage burning in his red eyes. He doesn’t care if they are your family that doesn’t excuse what they said.

How about when he watches how your face falls when a stranger comments on your appearance, and then without realizing it you’re being turned behind his back, as he threatens them.

If you’re the type to hate confrontation it might be overwhelming and definitely uncomfortable, because he’s not going to stand there and do nothing when he can turn that asshole into ash right where he stands. And if this person calls you a name in a derogatory way? Such as call you a ‘slut’? Well, then there’s nothing you can say to pull Shigs back. He’s confronting that douchbag and he’s going to shut his mouth for good.

I really like to imagine that Shigs is the kinda guy that would beat up someone in front of you, and after they’re all bruised, their face is swollen and fucked up, he’ll force an apology out of them. Just grabbing their face, squishing their bloody and bruised cheeks and forcing them to face you.

“Now, say you’re sorry,” and there’ll be some push back from them at first, “Now,” but he’ll threaten the apology out of them effortlessly.

I love me a good overprotective Shiggy. 🥰 Definitely one of my favorite flavors of Shiggy. Especially if he kind of surprises himself with it! He’s never really had someone to protect. It was just him for the longest time. He was the little brother in his family, and then he had AFO and Kurogiri taking care of his “parenting” (a term I use very loosely here. I adore Kurogiri but we can probably all agree he wasn’t really ‘there’ for Tomura emotionally).

And then you and the LOV come along. It really is neat to watch Shigaraki grow into a true leader. Part of being a good leader is caring for your underlings. And while it took him some time (and he’d most likely never admit to looking out for them), he’s really seemed to come into his own in that regard.

Which leads me to lean towards the belief that that may be a part of his personality, something that’s inherently ‘heroic’ about him even. I think once you’ve developed that closeness with him, he wants to protect you. Enjoys it even. (Could just be the sap in me though lmao.) I think seeing the way he acts towards his comrades later on in the series can be proof of that.

And you’re right, I don’t think it would matter who he was protecting you against! If it came down to it, I’d like to think he’d even protect you against his sensei if AFO threatened you.

He’s opened up to you, allowed himself to be vulnerable with you. You hold those fragile parts of him so lovingly and so carefully. You protect him in your own way that’s unique to you. So I think he’d be 100% ready and raring to protect you against the world. He’d likely have no issues with dusting people who threaten to harm you, whether physically or mentally/emotionally.

And heaven help those who actually hurt you. I definitely think he’d let you watch as he punished them. It’s not just to make an example out of them to others, but to show you too. That you have nothing to worry about with him around. He’s willing to kill and destroy for you.

Hopefully this all comes together cohesively. 😅 Irl has been a little rough; my brain feels like it’s all over the place. But I so wanted to get back with you on this! I love love love overprotective Shiggy.

Honestly it’s hard for me to not see AFO considering you a threat. 😔 Especially if the All For One quirk operates on hatred. He may not spare you a second glance at first, but I’m sure he would begin to see the changes in Tomura. And then Tomura stands up to him? Trying to tell him to leave you alone? That simply won’t do. Like I know it sounds cliche, but again, based on how the quirk operates…you could completely screw up his whole plan.

Plus, being Tomura’s abuser and him planning on using Tomura’s body as his new vessel, he’s going to want to maintain complete control over him. And you most certainly would disrupt that. You would show Shigaraki what it really means to love and protect someone, and that alone would shatter the illusions AFO has put up. The scales would fall from his eyes. He would see that AFO has just been grooming him, and fuck that. Shigaraki is no one’s pawn.

You would help him see the truth, help him see that there is hope for a future, that he’s more than just some mindless machine of destruction. You’d help give him the courage to stand up to his abuser. And that’s pretty fucking awesome imo. (Yeah, wreck AFO’s shit Shiggy. You’re doing great sweetie! 💜)

“…feeling safe and protected with the most dangerous man in Japan.” That’s kind of amazing, isn’t it? Like, goodness. If people knew who you were, exactly who you belonged to, you would be untouchable. People would be so careful not to make you angry or offend you. Because they know what could happen to them if they did. Or if you just wanted someone dead? Tell him; I’m sure he’d see about getting it done. Talk about terrifying (and sexy lmfao)! Wield that power responsibly, ha ha.

Protective Shigs is just wonderful! I totally agree. So many flavors to this complex, beautiful man. I’m personally so weak for softer Shig in general. Just one who falls head over heels for you. Your love for him could have such a profound impact on his life. Like that’s not even me being mushy (okay maybe it is a little). Given his past…

And it’s in my personal opinion that, had his situation been different growing up, I think Tenko would have made a fantastic hero. I think deep down, he is a genuinely good person with a heart for the little guy, the underdog. He would have been the hero he and the other League members desperately needed.
