Pokemon Au:Would Nora catch a Bellibolt? I feel she would have a Bellibolt. Also what if Pyrrha's Bisharp evolved into a Kingambit while away so Pyrrha's mom sends it her for a visit to see it.
Nora: (Walks in, Soaked in mud)
Ren: Did you catch anything?
Nora: No... I almost caught a Bellibolt, though.
Ren: Oh? What happened?
Nora: I thought throwing mud at its eyes would make it easier to catch.
Ren: Did it?
Nora: I thought it did, but for some reason it acted like it wasn't blinded by being hit in it's big ol' eyes on the sides of its head with mud!
Ren: ...Nora, their eyes-
Nora: I know, I know. Their eyes are used to being covered in mud. You don't have to tell me, Ren. I'm gonna go take a shower with Magnhild. (Leaves)
Magnhild: (Electabuzz) (Follows upstairs)
Ren: ...I was going to say Bellibolt eyes are small and just above their mouths.
------------------------------------------------
Pyrrha: And this was when I first caught Akouo.
Jaune: Whoa... Such a small Pawniard.
Pyrrha: Mhm, but even at that size, it didn't take long for him to evolve into a Bisharp!
Jaune: Have you considered evolving him into a Kingambit?
Pyrrha: I had, but Bisharps with Leader Crest's are already so hard to find, and there are even fewer in Remnant. So for now, I think Akouo is perfectly happy as he is now.
Milo: (Shieldon) (Snuggles Akouo)
Akouo: (Bisharp) (Steps away)
Milo: (Snuggles)

[A video attached. The exact source is unknown.]
[Watch?]
It's a wide view of a large testing chamber. Behind a screen several scientists in long white coats emblazoned with a red "R" are at work.
They're calibrating a massive machine that takes up most of the room. The machine itself is composed of three large chambers, with the two outermost chambers being connected to the center by coils of wire and large tubes. There's several locking mechanisms on each of the doors, and a few grunts in slick white outfits go about checking these.
One locks another inside- and immediately there's a shout from one of the scientists, "Hey! You two! Cut it out."
The grunt on the outside groans, "lighten up Carl, geez." and unlocks the door, letting his friend out. The two snicker to each other and move on to the rest of their checks.
After a few moments, from out of frame walks a lady with spiky red hair in a slick white outfit- Ariana. She approaches the scientist that had scolded the grunts.
"Is everything ready?"
"Yes ma'am. The machine's been calibrated. I've had the engineers running checks all morning."
"Good."
There's a bright flash, and whatever's recording loses vision for a moment. When it comes back, something similar to a mew is floating next to Ariana.
Its features are sharper than the average mew, and it's belly and tail have darkened in color to a more purplish tone. It tilts its head at Ariana.
"Preparations complete, executive?"
"Yes. A reminder that if you harm any of my team once you have the power you want, I'll have your head, Point 5."
"There will be no loss of life."
"Hmph." Ariana crosses her arms, "If you say so."
A door opening is heard, and Ariana turns to look, she smiles, "Ah, Mammon. You've decided to join us?"
"I'm not late, it's barely even 2 o clock yet." Drifter appears in frame, he stands at about the same height as Ariana, and as usual he wears his drifblim mask. He's followed by a shorter human, in a drifloon mask wearing a rather fashionable Rocket Grunt outfit.
Ariana snickers, "I just like to tease, you know this. You're not really the hands on type anyhow. You used to sit stuff like this out."
well, today is important." He adjusts his collar, turning his attention to the Mew still hovering nearby. "And, How are you, Point 5? Ready for world domination?"
"..."
There's no response from the Pokemon. It's staring at the machine.
"...Point 5?" Ariana raises an eyebrow at the mew, it suddenly jolts, turning back to the executives.
"...Apologies. I was...thinking. Yes, I have great anticipation for this experiment. It will be something good."
Drifter narrows his eyes, but then shakes his head, relaxing his expression, "That's...quite an odd way to put it. But, glad you're excited." Drifter looks at the grunt in the drifloon mask. "Dune, could you go check on our guest?"
"Yes Boss." Dune nods and then heads out of frame.
"Let's go to our seats, Mammon. Petrel and Proton are already waiting."
As the executives walk off, Point 5 looks at the camera and disappears in a flash of light. The camera fizzles and comes back again. Though this time when it does the video has split into different sections.
In one, the main view of the machine, the same as before.
In another, is Aegis's cell. He's returned to his original form of a shieldon and is laying on the floor asleep, though seems to be sleeping rather fitfully, twitching and kicking his legs.
In the final, are the executives. Sitting at a round table in a room above the test chamber, they're chatting about whatever.
---
In the video of Aegis's cell, the door opens to reveal Dune and Aegis snaps awake. He whimpers and backs up away from the door.
Dune rubs the back of their neck and crouches down in the doorway, "Look, little dude, this'll be over quicker if you just come with me quietly. I don't really want to chase you."
Aegis continues to cower, but eventually closes his eyes, and lets out a deep breath with a little 'huff'. His shaking stops and he walks to Dune with a sort of confidence. Dune smiles. When he gets close she picks him up, he doesn't squirm.
"Thanks for making this easier, little dude."
Moments later as Dune exits with Aegis, the feed to that room cuts out and it's just the two other cameras.
Dune and Aegis appear in the test chamber camera. Point 5 appears in a flash of light. Dune visibly winces, Aegis stares in wonder at the Pokemon, but doesn't have long to look before he's set down in the rightmost chamber, the door locked tightly by a few grunts standing by.
Point 5 looks at Dune as she runs off camera- presumably to go join the executives in the room overlooking the testing area- Point five then floats over to the leftmost chamber and goes in. The doors are locked behind it.
"Project MewThree, subjects secured- engaging stage one." The head scientist says through a microphone, so the message is heard throughout the chamber.
As a few buttons are pressed, a low hum fills the room, and lights on the outermost chambers of the machine begin to glow, as trails of electricity flow through them and towards the center chamber.
"Power stable. Engaging stage 2."
The main scientist pushes a lever on his desk about halfway forwards. The hum rises, growing more high pitched. The central chamber lights up now, and the tubes on the machine light up as some sort of liquid flows through them.
---
Up in the executive's observation room. The four watch with interest, Ariana taking notes on a clipboard, Petrel standing near the window, Proton leaning back in a chair at the table, and Drifter sits with hands clasped in front of him.
As the test enters stage two, Proton frowns.
"...Y'know. something doesn't feel right."
"What?" Drifter looks over at him, placing his hands flat on the table.
"Point 5. Something's not right with that thing. You could tell couldn't you, Drifter?" Proton puts his feet down on the floor, leaning forwards.
"Point 5 is a mew, or- even just a ditto. Nothing more." Drifter fidgets with a ring on his finger, Petrel turns around, putting a hand on his hip.
"Yeah, what are you talking about, Proto? None of my team noticed anything out of the ordinary with it. And we spent the most time with it."
"You didn't fight it." Proton says plainly. "It fought like..." He groans. "I mean it's crazy but it fought like Silver."
It's like the world goes quiet at Proton's words. Only broken by the sharp snap of Ariana putting her pen against the clipboard.
"Silver is gone." She says quietly.
"Well yeah- but-"
"Proton now is not the time for one of your jokes." Drifter's hands curl to fists.
"I'm not kidding around! It used all of his Pokemon's moves- favored them even- Flame wheel, Air Cutter, Icy Wind- I could go on."
"That means nothing." Ariana's tone is cutting as she turns to face Proton. "Any Pokemon can use those moves. And mew is able to learn any move, any ability. Do not do this to me Proton."
Proton grits his teeth and stands. "I taught that kid everything he knows in close combat and self defense. I know the way he moves."
"So what, you're saying that Silver's been reincarnated or something?" Petrel narrows his brow. "That's ridiculous, Proto."
"Well even if it ain't him- there's still something wrong with that damn Mew-"
"Proton shut up." Drifter hasn't moved, save for his hands now gripping the edge of the table.
"Why would a mew follow home team Rocket, huh?"
Drifter stands now in a rush. "Lance, stop. This isn't funny."
Proton turns to Drifter now. "That's not a damn answer, Elliott, and you know it. It recognized us somehow. And if it were some byproduct of the MewTwo experiment it would've run or tried to kill you or- anything. Not follow you home."
Drifter grits his teeth and grabs Proton by the collar.
"He's been gone 24 years and I will not have you ripping apart his memory like it's one of your damn assassination targets you mother fu-"
An alarm begins to blare in the test chamber.
---
Back down in the chamber, the lever the scientist was slowly pushing forward suddenly SLAMS forwards. He yelps as he loses control of the control in front of him, and desperately tries to pull it back to a more reasonable position.
"What's going on over there?!" Another scientist shouts.
"I don't know! It just slammed down on its own I-" a few other switches on the dashboard begin to flick into position all on their own, the scientist steps back, terrified, "Shut it down. Shut everything down right now!"
It's at this point that the alarm begins to blare, as the energy levels in the chambers rise to their maximum capacity.
The cameras fizzle out.
---
And the camera feeds reappear, now with one in each chamber. Showing a terrified Aegis and a calm Point 5. A conversation between the two of them can be heard. The two voices overlap somewhat.
"P-point 5- I'm scared! It's so loud-"
"I know Aegis. Apologies. I need to borrow you for just a minute."
"Wh-what do you mean? What's happening? What-"
"Do you remember how you said you wanted to know if I chose another name?"
"y- yeah! But! Now doesn't seem like a good time-"
"Well, I have chosen a name, but I need some help remembering it,"
The voice changes. It sounds like Point 5, and yet at the same time...someone else entirely.
"Can you help me?"
"uh- Uhm-!! Yeah! Yeah I can help!"
Point 5 smiles.
"good. Thank you, Aegis."
---
In the testing area, a wave of psychic energy emits from the machine, knocking unconscious the scientists and engineers desperately trying to pry open the doors and get the machine to stop.
Aegis sees memories of a young boy raised by six well meaning- but morally misguided people. Of that boy meeting another named Gold. The two form a good natured rivalry- and friendship. Of an avoidable accident at a radio tower. Of waking up. And waiting, while the world above changes.
And in the leftmost chamber- someone long dead lives again.
---
When the wave has faded, the executives in the observation chamber uncover their ears, though some sense of the immense pressure remains. They descend into the testing area.
As they enter the large room, the doors to the chamber open- as a fog clears...out of one steps a young man, with spiky red hair, and black eyes, when he sees the executives, the look on his face turns pained, but he ignores them in favor of going to the other chamber. From within it he picks up an unconscious- but still breathing- Aegis.
"Silver-" nearly all the executives say his name at once, but they're cut off by a look from the boy.
"...I'll find you when I'm ready to talk." And in a burst of pink energy- the cameras fizzle. And he's gone.
The video feed ends.

i have a physical therapy appointment this morning so i don’t wanna start writing my post about beating platinum until after i’m done with that but i figured i’d tie up some loose ends since i wasn’t updating much yesterday
jasmine just being dropped in this game as a nod to HGSS has always been cool. a town with a lighthouse as well, just like olivine. it’s kind of wack how this cameo appearance remains in bdsp despite there not being a twin johto game to go with it lol
this dialogue that implies some cyrus lore as well… i was talking with a friend yesterday about how it’s strange cyrus has a crobat, like most of the “evil team” leaders have friendship evos barring ghetsis, but cyrus is particularly cynical towards pokemon, even his own, and you’d think he wouldn’t be able to have a friendship evo. this dialogue makes me wonder if there was a time where he was reclusive but not as far gone yet when he could have achieved that crobat evolution, and left unchecked by adults on account of “he’s fine, he’s a genius” he spiraled out of control… or maybe it’s a case of kindness, but in the wrong way, or both! who knows. kinda crazy u can miss out on this completely optional dialogue so easily
victory road was mostly uneventful, solved all the puzzles and picked up all the items and fought every trainer etc, though it did put my team through the wringer and i had to actually use the healing items i had been stockpiling off the floor for once, since i didn’t feel like walking back to the pokecenter every time.
i picked up some stray dex entries along the way too - as far as i know i’m only missing just a handful of encounters you can get before the league without evolving anything, specifically the one fossil mon you can get at this point (i haven’t checked whether i have shieldon or cranidos), and a handful of mons that can be caught fully evolved with the good rod like Seaking because they’re just SO much easier to get with the super rod and i figured i’d wait until then since fishing can be slow in this game. oh and i haven’t caught the lake trio yet since i want to actually prepare for them properly post-league (i don’t want to wing it like i did with giratina… i want them in premiers…)
and lastly i did beat barry before doing my final league prep, idk i just wanted to get it out of the way. tbh it wasn’t too bad, i had some pokemon faint but within reason. i would say more but i didn’t take notes and the battle wasn’t that crazy. however barry becomes even stronger than cynthia eventually in the postgame so i’m not insulting him at all LOL
but yeah league breakdown coming this afternoon after my PT appointment whee

Pokémon Reborn Screenshot Let's Play: Chapter 31
Finally, proper timing for uploading the newest chapter once again! Hello everyone, it’s me again, and this week I’m not dealing with post-dental treatment stuff! That won’t be the case next week though, but that’s something I’ll deal with when the time comes. Nothing to worry about! Let’s focus on the now, and right now, we’re finally making some progress in the story again! Two tough boss battles in the last two chapters- but that’s done now, we can finally move on!
Well, not quite. After all, I still need to explain what that second tough boss fight was, not to mention the aftermath of said fight, because that was of some significance. Not to mention all the new Pokémon caught in the last chapter too! So let’s go over what happened-
To prepare for her fight against Kiki, Xera travels back to Reborn City to catch some new Pokémon. A storm is raging, and she finds a frightened Pansear under Opal Bridge, who she rescues and names Char.
At Coral Ward, Xera finds a Lotad on the docks. After feeding it some PokéSnax, the Lotad joins her, and she names it Lily.
Xera returns to Blacksteam Factory and the trapped DayCare Pokémon. After teleporting a Makuhita close to a cage containing a Ditto, the Ditto Transforms into the Makuhita and breaks out of the cage. Xera takes the Ditto with her at this point, naming it Mimic.
At Seacrest’s Garden, Xera catches a Ledyba and names her Spots. After evolving her into a Ledian (and also beating up an Aqua Gang grunt who stole Xera’s Magikarp), Xera returns to Apophyll Cave to trade her for a Hiker’s Shieldon, named Aspis.
After hearing readings from four textbooks in Apophyll Academy, one student gives Xera a Meditite, who she names Asano and later evolves into a Medicham.
On Apophyll Beach, Xera catches a Sandygast, who she names Suna. Suna, as well as Shimmer the Munna, are then evolved into Palossand and Musharna respectively.
With her team prepared, Xera goes to the courtyard of Apophyll Academy to face Kiki, with a still-reluctant Victoria acting as the referee. With Victoria and the students watching, Xera and Kiki begin their battle.
After many trials and tribulations, Xera manages to defeat Kiki and has successfully completed the Academy’s graduation exam. However, before Kiki can finish congratulating her, she collapses in front of everybody.
Victoria and Xera help Kiki back to her room, where Kiki laments not only how she can no longer keep her illness a secret, but also how no amount of physical and spiritual zen can prevent her body from destroying itself.
Victoria finally speaks openly and honestly to her sensei, telling how much it hurts to watch her push herself so much and lie to save face, and urging her to just be honest with everyone so they can all find a way to move forward together.
Kiki takes Victoria’s words to heart, and comes clean about something else she has been hiding, this one regarding Xera. She explains she does not actually have the Strength Machine, for it was stolen not too long ago. She had been hoping she would be able to retrieve the TMX while Xera was completing the tasks for graduation, despite the urgency of Xera’s task.
Victoria is angered by Kiki’s deception and swiftly leaves the room, with Xera following not far behind. Victoria apologizes to Xera on behalf of the Academy- right when her classmate, Lettie, walks in.
Lettie informs Victoria that several students witnessed suspicious figures in black clothes carrying heavy machinery on Azurine Island- Team Meteor, no doubt.
Victoria asks Xera to investigate Azurine Island, as she needs to stay behind to take care of the Academy and Kiki (despite how angry she is at her at the moment).
So, still confused as to how Azurine Island is going to play into this or what Team Meteor could be doing there of all places, but I’m sure we’ll figure it out soon enough. At the very least, I’m looking forward to a change of scenery, whatever Azurine Island has in store. So, time to commit more acts of vigilantism! Let’s go!

Fossil Pokemons
Being a Pokemon Reasearcher, it would be strange for Lucille to NOT have any fossil Pokemons.
Omanyte
“Aww you’re so sweet !”
Moves: Water Gun, Ancient Power, Leer, Protect
Omanyte doesn’t seem to want to evolve so Lucille just let him be.
A sweetheart, always looking forward to cuddle with Lucille whenever he can.
He looks forward to cuddle with pretty much anybody that he comes across to be honest.
Omanyte isn’t much of a battler, so he prefers playing around in the lake with Lucille’s other water type Pokemons.
Doesn’t mean he can’t fight though. With Ancient Power boosting his stats and Leer lowering other’s defenses, Omanyte is a force to be reckon with.
Can, and will Water Gun Grim every chance he gets and acts all innocent when questioned.
Bastiodon
“Thanks for always helping the little ones train, girl”
Moves: Iron Defence, Heavy Slam, Take Down, Ancient Power.
A gentle giant. Bastiodon was resurrected from an Armor Fossil that Lucille dug up down in the Sinnoh Grand Underground.
As a Shieldon, she would always charge up to other Pokemons and challenge them to battles, after evolving, she has calmed down considerably and now helps younger Pokemons train.
When she’s not helping the little ones train, Bastiodon will usually wander around the Berry Farm the Lucille set up and eat some of the berries (given permission by Lucille of course).
Like all Bastiodons, this one is no exception as she will fiercely protect the younger Pokemons and the residents of Ramshackle using her rock-hard face.
Despite her rugged appearance, Bastiodon would never hurt a fly, for it is an innocent creature that has done nothing wrong. Azul, the Tweels and Jamil during/after Chap 3 and Chap 4 on the other hand…
Tirtouga
“What did I tell you about escaping the lake like that huh ??!!”
Moves: Aqua Jet, Crunch, Shell Smash, Ancient Power
Tirtouga is… an escape artist. And a stubborn one at that.
His curiosity might be his downfall one day, as he is always trying to explore the world around him.
So Lucille made a compromise with him that she will take him around every now and then using a large bucket.
Like Omanyte, Tirtouga can and will bite Grim whenever he can.
His bite isn’t something to joke, as Sebek had painfully learned upon finding him crawling near the mirror to Diasomnia.
Needless to say, his scream can be heard all the way from Ramshackle and it scared Lucille’s more timid Pokemons. It also took Lucille about thirty minutes, a snack break, some help pulling from Silver and Onion the Houndoom, to finally remove Tirtouga from Sebek’s hand.
Some students (Azul and the Tweels) tried to kidnap Tirtouga for selfish gains, but before they can even touch him, Tirtouga had already Aqua Jet away, leaving them in the dust.
Lucille did commented once that he is somewhat close to evolving.
Tyrantrum
“TYRANTRUM NO YOU CAN’T EAT CROWLEY, WHO KNOWS WHERE HE HAS BEEN ?? WHAT IF YOU GET SICK ??”
Moves: Ancient Power, Dragon Tail, Crunch, Rock Slide
Lucille’s first and biggest and strongest fossil Pokemon. Tyrantrum is a force to be reckon with as she got quite the temper with everyone that isn’t Lucille or her mate.
Originally a part of a pair of Tyrunts resurrected from two Jaw Fossils, the other one (aka her mate) went with Lucille’s best friend/Research buddy.
Tyrantrum is quite territorial, so she gets an entire enclosure of her own, with multiple warning signs surrounding it.
Anyone other than Lucille who tries to enter her enclosure will be chased Jurassic Park style.
Those poor, unfortunate victims ? Currently we have: The Tweels (mainly Floyd), Ace, Deuce, Grim, Jamil, Sebek, Rook, Crowley and still counting.
Crowley didn’t enter her enclosure, rather than that, Lucille forgot to close the gate because she was so tired and Tyrantrum got out. She saw Crowley walking inside Ramshackle to dump his responsibilities on Lucille (again) so she chased him out. How did she knew about Crowley ? A certain Talonflame tattled to her.
She chased him all the way into the school campus before Lucille caught up to her and return Tyrantrum into her Pokeball. Crowley did not gave her anymore chores for a short while after that. Man still remembers how he was violently shook in the air like a chew toy…

Harry James Potter’s Pokemon team:
Deerling represents him as the sprog of James and Lily Potter.
Decidueye, on top of being an owl with glasses, is also farsighted with great hand-eye coordination.
“Bruh, maybe try using a different spell?” --- like everybody every time he uses Expelliarmus, a defensive spell. Hence, Shieldon.
It takes great courage to stand up to your friends, sure, but when was the last time you walked to your own death? Never? Didn’t think so. Braviary makes for a good representation for my boi.
Luvdisc represents his greatest power.
This Pikachu Harry would have owned as a Pichu and evolved...through what else but friendship?

I stayed at the gym for the rest of the morning, letting my Pokemon recover while I talked shop with Roxanne. She was a bit of a fossil-head, much like a couple of other Rock-type specialists I knew- there was something about Rock-type specialization that inevitably led to paleontologic interest, despite the wide variety of Rock-types available to focus on.
(Not that I had room to talk. I had several fossil Pokemon of my own, including an entire herd of Shieldon and Bastiodon. Long story.)
As I was leaving later, I was startled by a man running by, chasing a familiar figure in terrible clothes. As we looked on, the man slowed to a halt and leaned heavily on his knees.
“No- please- I need those-!”
I recognized him now- it was my friend from the forest. I hurried over to him.
“What’s going on?”
“That- that thief- she just...” He groaned. “My papers! She took them!”
“Aw, sucks man,” I said. He looked hopefully up at me. I sighed. “All right, I’ll be back soon.”
“Oh, thank you! I’ll be over at Devon- please, please, those plans are important.”
“Yeah, yeah.” I took off down the road at a trot, not willing to overdo it. The grunt had run out the city gates to the area where I’d done my training, so it was doubtful she’d get too far- there were no easy ways to pass beyond, with the forest too dense to pass through and the mountain too steep to climb easily. Even if she did have the means to pass through, it would be slow work.
-/-
My hunch was correct- I followed the trail through the grass until I’d reached the tunnel, where an old man I’d seen on the beach the other day was standing and looking distressed.
“Oh, waily, waily, waily!” he said. “I was going for a walk with my darling Peeko when this trainer grabbed her and went into that cave.
And you didn’t even go after them, I thought, and didn’t say. “No worries,” I said. “I’ll get her.”
It didn’t take much effort to find the grunt. She was kicking the wall at the end of the tunnel in frustration, a struggling Wingull tucked under her arm.
“Why! Is! There! A! Wall!”
“That’s how caves work, honey,” I said. “Now if you wouldn’t mind handing over the things you stole, I’d appreciate it.”
“Not a chance!” she shouted, and sent out her Pokemon.
I sighed. Of course.
“Very well, the hard way it is. Lieutenant? If you would be so kind?”

(Gary anon) And in this age, it feels like people's business are not allowed to be [or handled] privately anymore; when it really should. It's easier to move on when stuff are not put into a space where it become immortal. (This episode certainly caused quite the stir, to the point I don't know what the bigger controversy is: Articuno being fairly or unreasonably busted [and bringing back discussion of Ash's Charizard] or *who caused the teamwork to flop more, Gary or Goh?)
.
(Part 2) *On that front, around half seem to concur it was both [but more so one than the other]. But most agree this was something really needed for Goh; as his asocial behavior occurs very infrequently. Apparently, Tsurugi suffered a similar problem; and this just convinces me even more that this is Goh's exit. (I saw a few consider Gary too bossy here? But it was very clear that he was trying ensure everyone's success and safety; especially since Sheer Cold is the most dangerous)
Part 3) (detriment here. It was no different from the Shieldon episode. (I think you'll like his speech at the end; I'll wait for you to see it first) I kid you not, I saw a few call Gary an "abuser" to Goh. Also, Gary wasn't antagonizing him the whole fight? It was before they got to Articuno and it still way more mild than what Ash went through. Whether the teasing did hurt the team or not; it doesn't excuse Goh constantly trying take the reins when he has less battling experience than
(Part 4) Ash and Gary. *And it doesn't negate Gary's leadership skills and ability to remain focus. (*Ash has his moments, but he's not someone who works on a schedule; much less follow it) The subs being out seem to quiet things down a bit and make it more coherent, but oof, I hope some do a Gary rewatch. One thing I hope Journeys does is have fans re-evaluate Gary's character.
(Part 5) (I don't think he's going to be "re-humbled", but I can see Gary potentially learning something from this) Yeah, I'm not sure how many others caught that. Maybe it was due to the slow start. Also, poor Typhlosion, finally appears again and it's this. xD
Yeah. Things get a lot messier when private issues between two people become public.
It sure did. I've been seeing a weird amount of people saying the battle would've gone differently if Ash had brought Charizard or done x thing and it's like... missing the entire point. (And just because Charizard beat a different Articuno years ago doesn't mean he'd be able to do the same with this one. As one of my Twitter mutuals put it, Pokemon battles aren't math problems.)
Yeah, I think it's fair to say Goh and Gary are both somewhat at fault. Like, it was Gary antagonizing Goh that made Goh not want to work with him in the first place, but Goh was stubborn and let his anger get the better of him (which sounds familiar, haha).
But yeah, Goh definitely needed this for his character development. It's good to see this struggle of his really show, and good that it seems like he's closer to overcoming it after all of that.
Yeah, I think it made sense for Gary to take the lead the way he did--after all, he was one of the two most experienced people there (and Ash was fine with following his lead) and clearly he knew what he was doing.
I found the episode subbed last night and yeah, loved that. That whole dialogue between he and Goh was so good. I'm very interested to see how their relationship develops from the turning point that was.
... What? That... I don't know where to begin with that. My knee-jerk reaction is "this is the fandom that worships the ground Paul walks on and makes excuses for him constantly" but I doubt those are the same people. Calling Gary of all people abusive is really not fair (and I'm not a fan of people watering down serious words by throwing them around at anything they don't like).
But anyway, yeah, Gary really was not that bad. Aside from a few taunts early on, he was mostly focused on the mission and trying to ensure it ran smoothly.
Goh was largely at fault and I don't say that as like, a criticism of him--I really love him, in part because he's a flawed character with a lot to overcome. He let his pride, stubbornness, and temper get the better of him this time but I don't doubt he's learned from it.
Yeah, Gary's leadership and focus were on display as much as anything and it was so good to see those strengths shine through. He's come so far since Indigo League.
Yeah. He has such a good character arc, and so much depth and nuance to his character, and I’d love to see more appreciation for that. (Also a Garython just sounds really fun. He’s a fun character.)
For sure--I don’t think he needs humility knocked into him this time, his confidence is deserved and all that, but it’d be fair if he’s learned something here.
The episode sure did have a slow start, but sneaking foreshadowing in there was a good move on the writers’ part!
Oh man, I didn’t even realize how long it had been since a Typhlosion had appeared--poor thing hadn’t made an appearance in the main anime since AG and all it got was that. RIP.

A meditite appears, in a rare state of non zen. What is it up to?
As the group crests the hill they see the meditite at work- well. Kind of. It's trying to get into a meditative state but seems to be struggling, taking its stance, breathing deeply...but evidently not falling into deep meditation.
Starly goes and lands on its head. It immediately tries to swat her away with a little huff. Starly flies back to the group. Rotom waves. The meditite frowns.
"five against one? That's hardly fair! I accept." It readies up, looking like it's about to throw a punch at the nearest pokemon.
{ZZT! WAIT no no no, we're not gonna fight you we just. Wanted to see what you were up to. You uh...having some trouble with your meditation? zzt?}
The meditite lowers its fists with a sigh, "Yeah. I can't get into the headspace...used to meditate with lots of others but...they evolved and moved on to other places... Said I couldn't come with."
{zzt ...Oh I see. Well... Maybe we could stay here and meditate with you? zzt}
The meditite thinks for a moment... And then nods.
"Yeah that would be...nice." It sits back down on the ground and assumes its position. Rotom ushers the others into place as well, getting them all gathered around in a circle. They each get into their own positions, Shieldon sitting next to Meditite.

[A video is attached]
[Take a look?]
The video is a view from the back of a cage, looking out into a dark room. A human paces the room, writing something on a clipboard and muttering to themselves. They lean down to look in Shieldon's cage- their face covered by a scary looking mask. Shieldon shrinks back towards the camera, whimpering.
"there there little one..." The person with the mask croons. Their voice isn't very comforting at all. "pretty soon you'll be in a new home with someone who will pay us big bucks for you and your friends." The mocking grin can be heard in their voice.
"I'm sure you'll like it so much more than your old life- eh? What's that behind you is that-"
the person tries to reach for the camera, but it darts out of the way, being controlled by Rotom friend. Rotom tries it's best to stay away from the grasping hands and behind Shieldon- but it fails. The hand wraps around the Rotom- but Shieldon swivels and bites down hard on the person's hand. They shriek in pain, letting go of Rotom.
"Why you little-grah!!!"
They're cut off by Shieldon biting down again, threatening to take off a finger. Rotom lets out an electric move, hitting the lock on the cage. Not a moment later, Shieldon headbutts the door, and it swings out and smacks the person in the head, sending them backwards.
There's startled noises- but also excitement around as Shieldon leaps from the cage, Rotom following behind. The person in the mask growls, regaining their balance.
"ohh you little- YOU WON'T GET AWAY FROM ME."
Shieldon looks panicked as an alarm begins to blare. He looks to his friends in their cages, they look to the door, calling and shouting for him to go. He runs for the door, bracing for impact...
But there is no impact as the door opens, revealing guards.
Shieldon doesn't stop, slipping beneath the guard's legs and Rotom follows closely behind- narrowly dodging grasping hands. The masked person can be heard shouting behind them, "GRAB THEM! GRAB THEM YOU IDIOTS!!"
But none of the guards are fast enough. Shieldon continues dodging and weaving through the complex at a dizzying pace.
"Shieldon! There!!" Rotom shouts, gesturing to a door that looks to lead outside. Shieldon bashes against it- BAM- but it doesn't quite budge. Footsteps are heard approaching. Shieldon growls, pacing a few steps back and pawing at the ground and runs again.
SLAM
Still no dice.
The footsteps are closer, guards can be heard shouting "THERE! this way!" Shieldon readies another charge. This time- something's just a little different.
[SHIELDON used IRON HEAD]
SLAM
The door bursts open! The lock shattered. And Shieldon runs out into the outside world, leaving the shouting rocket grunts behind.
The camera looks to a view of what looks like unknown wilderness. With a city off in the distance.
