                     N icknames, personal sobriquets conceived by the heart, were attired in threads of intimacy that was progressively garnered  through  reliability and mutual acceptance.  - When both members were thoroughly comfortable with one another to an extent where barriers were thus effortlessly prodded earthward, permitting bare hands to graciously touch, heartily caress, internal vulnerabilities. - His interactions with them were not remotely deemed as close in terms of relationship.- Not since the adolescent had been promoted.- Replacing Kaien’s relative to whom they had firmly believed had passed until recent revelations; he had been alive all this time, living as a father in the world of the living.  -- Myriads of individuals’ adored pet names, terms of endearment, but he did not, for he considered them naught but demeaning words. Yet in spite of his interests, he always felt obligated to withstand those appointed to him by others, particularly by Hinamori, his childhood friend, who refuses to understand the aggravation Shiro-Chan produces within his soul - how it knifes and wrings his pride until it bleeds and compels him to resign in defeat- his longing of wanting her, wanting the world, to acknowledge him as a man wielding equated prominence as those ‘round his commanding standing - as Hitsugaya Toushiro, captain of the Tenth division. - It is because of those feelings, juvenile as they may be painted, they were nevertheless well-founded  - and the fissure splitting them in militia rankings-- that he bitterly scolds the lieutenant for accosting him wrongly sans initially acquiring a vocalized agreement. He wanted to be taken seriously - and such could not be feasible if his title was seldom utilized by indecorous officers. He ultimately scoffs, a result of perceiving the sulking expression adorning ‘gainst the latter’s foolish countenance, irately glancing rightward.

“Unless yer fixing on bringing him back, I’m not letting you put your grimy hands on his pride.” Tone of voice dropped low, eyes reflecting anger and loss. Shinigami we’re not to draw swords against one another but Kaien was letting personal feelings get in the way. Such was the member of the Shiba. (Sorry this is long! I’m on mobile atm!)

      ❝ Hmmm?? ❞ There was confusion on his face. He cared little for Kuchiki’s PRIDE. Why should something so foolish get in the way of Mayuri’s research? He was very interested to research a body that had been born in Soul Society. There weren’t many of those. Kuchiki’s was a prime example as well! He hoped that, upon dying, he would have the decency to make sure his body wasn’t too mangled. It would be a real shame. Mayuri was especially interested in his brain.  He was unsure why the Shiba was so angry. It wasn’t as if Mayuri had wronged him in any way, so why the hostility? Well - to be fair. Everyone always met him with a HOSTILE look. Because of his reputation. Because of who he was. They all hated him. That was fine. But he wasn’t going to let them get in the way of his work! ❝ We are talking about his body here. You may keep his pride, or whatever else you wish. Such trivial things aren’t interesting. ❞

It is beyond their responsibility to render further aid...nor is it within their ability to do so. The dead cannot interact with the living, after all. 

          The collective sense of helplessness grows, as the villagers grieve for their dead and ponder how to live, now. Shinji exhales. “ If it’s ya, will ya be glad ‘ta be alive, in this situation? ”

If Shiba heir wasn't startled yet about WHY suggestively creepy announcement aimed right at him, he still had plenty of time to be worried about the next.

The muscles concerned with locomotion stealthily minimize the distance between Kaien and himself; as if not wishing to be detected by unknown forces. Holding a jar in his right hand and a cover of it in another, he warns the raven-haired in a discreet whisper, '' Kaien, don't move. '' ㅤ'' There's something that I want — ... '' But things weren't twisting the way one would think. ㅤ'' — to catch. '' And that 'something' was sitting undetected on Shiba Kaien's shoulder.
