Had this lovely afternoon tea three times Eaten in the colonnades which is beautiful - light area and good for people watching Also eaten inside - very modern They offer a traditional and a gentlemans afternoon tea The scones are quite small Lovely cake selection Two visits were for birthdays and they brought over pretty birthday plates The gentlemans afternoon tea has good portions and is hearty Good service Works well if you want to go with the husband/boyfriend and they fancy something more manly than the traditional

Charming room Different breads but tasted dry Cakes were delicious Given a complimentary glass of sweet wine as it was Christmas Wonderful staff Formal environment Visually pretty Went with a child and the staff were very helpful

Mixed opinion every time I’ve been. I have eaten in both the Spa lounge, Browns and The James Braid Suite Spa Lounge - The afternoon tea looked very basic The lounge is bright and informal Lovely staff Scones dry and hard James Braid Suite- At the baby shower I held in the suite the portions per girl were very small The service and staff were not attentive and extremely unhelpful Browns- The service and staff were lovely It was a quiet atmosphere The afternoon tea tasted the best in Browns All sandwiches on the same bread At Christmas the main hotel at Mere is dressed beautifully
