ok so i have been sharing posts about palestine on my irl insta (the one i use to share stuff w family) ever since oct 7, and while step mom would always react to my stories before, EVERY SINGLE ONE that was about palestine? dead silence. until yday when i shared a post talking about an islamophobic law that was voted 20 years ago about display of religious outfits/items at school, and how it was linked to the palestinian struggle. THIS is the post she chose to react to, bc ofc she's a middle school headmaster so she probably thought it was personal (it wasnt) and she started complaining about how white kids in a school near her are being mocked for eating pork and how there anti-white AND anti-christian racism, etc etc. AND I WOKE UP TO THAT. AT 6AM. AFTER 6 MONTHS OF ACTING LIKE MY STANCE ON PALESTINE COULDNT BE MORE CLEAR. and im so pissed bc 1. this wasn't about u this is about systemic and rampant islamophobia in a country where there are ACTUAL LAWS to prevent people from just. wearing a hijab. 2. white racism isn't a thing, we are just being faced with the consequences of hundreds of years of colonisation and oppression of POC and ykw? even if there ARE poc who are hateful towards white people?? good for them. i support them. 3. what's ur point? do u think that /i/ care? of all people?? lmfao what a fucking joke. nothing will change my mind about this.
