I compiled all the coolest behind the scenes internet finds for Xiaolin Showdown! I found so many cool things I ended up designing a little bible of it all for us to cherish for years to come! :) Hope you like it:

Can you elaborate on that thing you said about the elemental Wu being training wheels for the monks? It sounds interesting.

I think they get a feel for the movement of the chi and how their Wu channels the energy, and gradually, subconscious pick up how to mimic it on their own. I think that's a big reason why they're recommended certain Wu to start practicing with as their signature weapons once they reach apprentice level and beyond. (Credit to @writerkatsblog for the groundwork here!)

There's this very gradual but noticeable progression of the kids' abilities as the seasons go on.

Back in Dreamscape, Omi used the Orb of Tornami to create a wave to get the logs moving. Or we see lots of time where Omi is shooting the water out of the Orb like a hose.

By Chucky Choo, Omi can hold up the flow of an entire waterfall on his own. Or we see in The New Order that Omi's very capable of just shooting pressurized water out of his own hands without the orb.

The first time Kimiko used the Star Hanabi to shoot and aim a proper fireball, she was absolutely floored by it.

By Hannibal's Revenge, she's whipping up enough firepower from the palms of her hands to level a whole forest on her own at will.

Clay used to need the Third Arm Sash to construct a fist out of stone.

By Bird of Paradise, he's making them himself, and they're way stronger than the ones he could make with the Sash.

Raimundo used to use the Sword of the Storms to whip up gales and winds or to fly.

By Bird of Paradise, Raimundo's making them from the palms of his hands, and the ones Raimundo makes himself are both stronger and can be more deliberately controlled and aimed. And he's flying solo with a lot more control, too.

Tangentially, I think observing and mimicking the qi and energy to master their powers probably explains some of Chase's abilities too, and why he says he views Shen Gong Wu as "crutches".

A lot of his abilities (standing on vertical ground, telekinesis, flight), are identical to things some of the Wu do, after all. If not learning from using the Wu back in his days as a monk, then learning from observing and fighting the monsters that were sealed into those Wu. Sort of like humans learning bending in atla from the animals with the abilities.

Ok so i'm back in XS hyperfixation and just remembered a theory I had years ago where Omi was the result of a Shen gong Wu.

Like Dashi still making Wu after Wuya was sealed, Guan left and Chase betrayed them.

He's trying top make a Wu with will increase in power, endless power type Wu (Using either just Chases or using a mixture of his teams chi his, Chases and Guan's)

And then he's looking down and baby Omi... Dashi realizing he not only accidentally made a baby but that baby looks a lot like the future kid he's seen a few times.

Dashi slowly freaking the fuck out and then figuring a way to kid to the future without freezing him and making him wait because he is not freezing a baby that he accidentally made.

(Hes kinda glad everyone else is gone because they would never let him live this down)

Dashi finding out how to break space time continuum drop Omi off at the temple in the future and is just like 'You know what... I think i'm done making Shen Gong Wu... yep'

Dojo: What made you change your mind?

Dashi: Paradox super powered baby

Dojo:What?

Dashi:.... nothing

In the future Chase is training Omi and wondering why the little one's chi is so much like his and Dashi's ghost is just sweating.

Which magical objects do you think are more powerful ? The Miraculous or the Sheng Won Wu (hope this is the correct spelling lol) from Xiaolin Showdown ?

The Miraculous and its not even close.

I love the Shen Gong Wu, but most of the items uses are... situational at best.

The best Shen Gong Wu that I remember are, the Reversing Mirror, Sands of Time, Mobi Morpher, and the GOLDEN TIGER CLAWS. Oh and Serpents Tail. And those are the ones that are not just for transportation.

And the reason those are the best is because you can Actually CARRY THEM and have an OP ability.

The rest are straight up inconvenient to carry, mediocre elemental attacks, or have detrimental effects that out weigh the good.

All of the miraculous give the users super human abilities, as well as a unique power, and even the lamest special powers is still useful in most scenarios.

Plus, you can COMBINE the miraculous, only some shen gong wu combine.

So I just finished xiaolin showdown: I wanna talk about it. Spoilers.

I really liked the show! I knew I would thanks to childhood memories of it but I think it holds up alright even today! Imma break it down in what I Did like and what I Didn't like (I think Imma make a different post talking about the Wu). This is longer than I thought it would be. I'm sorry.

What I liked

The Wu themselves, love me magic shit even if they get repetitive at times(fr there are like 4 that just give the power to fly).

I fucking love Jack Spicer and Clay Bailey. They are my boys do you hear me! Love how Jack just won't quit and how Clay is just so painfully Texas. My bois

Love the magic in general! How all die of the main characters get to master their element and get special weapons and gear to help. Wish there was more time to flush all of it out tho ,but hey what can you do(other than post head canons).

Dojo Kanojo Cho

Just his name is fucking amazing, and I did like some of his jokes

And his powers were cool! I wish we could have seen the limits of his shapeshifting powers.

I did like wuya and wish we could have seen her do more witchy things.

Chase Young was also very cool.

I also like panda bubba's design and I kinda wish there was more of him. I wanna do things to him DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT

I already said this BUT I just love how all of them got individual weapons that I don't think were Shen Gong Wu? I think.

Master fung and dojo... Had a very odd relationship. I'm 90% sure they were at least fucking by how dojo acted when he went to a different temple and after that it was just very. Weird.nit Bad weird but still.

Wish we could have seen more of their families. kimono's dad was fucking adorable. I want to fuck her dad

Also Love le mime!!! I also wanna fuck him, I am not taking. criticism at this time

I also liked Jermaine and wish he could have been able to join fully or show up more.

Over all love this show.

What I didn't like

How they treated Jack. Idk man I just thought it was weird how the heros tournamented him so much? Like ya he's a ass but like, y'all are the heros why are you acting borderline worse than him???

I also kinda wish he could have officially joined the xiaolin side, I feel like they alluded to him switching multiple times but then he never does and I think that was a waste.

I wish we could have seen Raimundo's family if not just a sibling or his parents, just something.

Omi had such an ego. Like dude, please stop.

I really wish we could have seen more of Fung and Omi's relationship. I kinda wish it was more father and son rather than teacher and student since it seems like Omi lived there his entire life.

I also wish we saw more of Fung being badass. I feel there was a lack of that.

I'll say it again, there are a bunch of shen gong wu that kinda just repeat? And some Wu that don't seem like they should be categorize as Wu? Idk I'll make a different post about it bc there a lot to say.

Le mime was cool and I want to know more about him.

I want to know more about almost everyone honestly.

I finally finished this, I don't know it looks very bad and it doesn't look very good either, it's a middle ground, but oh well.

Sadie and Clay are about to have their first kiss after two months of dating, but they both get nervous when taking that step and it shows too much on their faces. I think the kiss should be a special moment and not something forced for both of them. 😅

Xiaolin Showdown au where Jack's evil genius thing is just a larp-like act he puts extreme effort into and he fully knows it's just a fun thing he does to stave off his loneliness, just normal-er Jack au. But when he opens Wuya's puzzlebox she sees all this shit and assumes Jack is onto world domination too and asks for his assistance. Jack goes along with it cause he's scared of what she could do if he refused. Yeah sure she has no body, but what if she posseses him or haunts him or something? He'll figure it out eventually.

Cue him running into the monks and the whole thing plays out similar to canon, as well as Jack getting some more context to his situation. After the Eye of Dashi encounter he manages to hack into Kimiko's PDA and they have a little "friendly" chat where Jack manages to convince them he's just going along with what Wuya told him cause he doesn't know how to deal with her or if she's dangerous. After getting explained that she is powerless in this form Jack is ready to tell her to scram until Raimundo comes up with an idea. Wuya could always find someone with actual nefarious intentions. Since Jack's, by his own admisdion, just putting on a show, he can keep Wuya in check and prevent her from rising to power by pretending to be on her side. Jack, not having much else to do, and finding the prospect of going on adventures and doing something that can almost be consideted hanging out with friends really nice, agrees.

Xiaolin Showdown but the conflict between the monks and Jack is just pretend. That's it.

They secretly meet up to discuss stuff, Jack gradually learns how to socialize and gets friends. Yeah!

"You spent several good years in the company of an old witch, and if she's fucked up as a ghost, who's to say that she's not five times worse with a body..."

"I'm trying to protect people close to me, that's all." He muttered, walking again. "I won't let history come full circle again. Now, when I have my family back, I will defend them at all costs."

"Pursuing the goal over the dead body is not a good option."

Raimundo turned around abruptly, and a violent wind rose around them.

"I didn't kill anyone here!" He growled.

I have two Shen Gong Wu ideas

Needle of binding: "sews" two objects together in an unbreakable bond. Effect wears off after a few hours

Past lives scroll: Displays pictures of the holder's past lives (specifically for fanfiction purposes)

Gonna try to draw them....along with all the other stuff I keep saying I'll draw

Edit: I'm changing the scroll to a highly reflective cup. You pour a liquid in and see your past lives. Then, you can drink from it to gain the memories of one of your past lives.

You keep those memories along with those of your current life, but you the effect only works once, and you can only pick one past life.

I've suddenly been hit by The Urge. In an "Omi is a SGW" universe, I feel like there are certain things that we can usually pass off as a design choice that we can now take at face value. Like the fact that he doesn't have a nose. Or that sometimes his teeth are sharp and pointy. Or the canonical fact that he can walk on walls/the ceiling.

I'm also hit by this (GNU) Sir Terry Pratchett quote: "Evil begins when you begin to treat people as things." Like. Obviously Omi's friends, Chase Young, Dojo, and probably Master Fung (unless you want to go the REALLY angsty route) all treat him the same, but others? It's kind of hit or miss. Specifically, I think Master Monk Guan would really show his ass. I don't know how, exactly, but his foot would enter his mouth up to the ankle (and Chase would shove it up to the knee for good measure)

Oh I adore that quote and would sop well with verse. Hannibal and probably Wuya would totally try and use Omi.

Chase is 100% hanging around in shadows ready to shove any feet in mouths if they say anything about the little one. (If Guan or Master Fung said anything Chase is going to go full murder mode he and all the fallen warriors are waiting for one wrong word)
