You have me smitten by this and i can confirm that I'm about to melt away for sure!, i loved reading this so much the way you wrote this it was so inspiriting and enjoyable to read from start to finish, every bet of this has so much context and it shows, the way her being with Tommy and feeling right and wrong at the same time. 😱

LOVE how she is so self aware about him and how this could all mean for nothing, ALSO there's something so unsettling about Tommy in this that it almost gives, dark! Tommy vibes.

If I went on to telling my favourite detail there would be no space left for me to express my love for this but I picked out some of them and they made me feel like I was on cloud nine 🙈

A/N: Hey M! Sorry that it took me awhile... I hope that the story can make it up to you 😊 Enjoy and have great day too, darl 🤗

Darkness shrouded the pub save from a lit light bulb in the back. The beam served to guide Y/N through and wasn’t visible to anyone outside wondering if the establishment was still open. Not that anyone, except him, came knocking on those late hours. But no amount of care was small to a woman in the middle of the night. 

She looked at the clock and got surprised in seeing the clock hands pointing to the numbers 3 and 9. A quarter to four! It wasn’t late only. Any feasible possibility she had to make a safe walk home had vanished hours ago. 

How insanely stupid she had been! Waiting for someone that never even promised their presence in the first place. She would have to sleep in the office and try to explain her antics to her boss in the morning. 

While lost in her thoughts three shy knocks came from the door, startling Y/N’s heart. She stared at the noise’s direction and saw a silhouette through the glass.  

It was him. 

In a swift motion she got out of the stool and ran to the door, feeling her heartbeat in her throat, but a doubt creeped in and she stopped with the key in her hands. How could she be so sure that it was his silhouette?  

“Mr. Shelby?” She asked meekly. 

“It’s me.” 

She sighed. The voice was low and muffled but still indistinguishably his. Y/N opened the door but he didn’t bother to enter. 

“Ready to go?” 

“Yes,” Y/N replied. “I just need to get my coat.” 

He nodded and she walked back to the counter, sensing a funny unease start to bubble up inside her. That wasn’t the routine they had established in the last couple of weeks. He usually sat and drank some whiskey before offering to take her home. 

Mr. Shelby asked for her to walk out first with a small flare after she put her garment on and closed the pub himself. Y/N wrapped herself tighter in her clothes while trembling in the night’s cold air, but one of Mr. Shelby’s hands came to rest on her lower back, spreading heat all over her body. 

They started to walk and listened to their footsteps ricochet against the buildings, disrupting the streets mortal silence. 

“It’s late. Why did you go to The Garrison?” Y/N inquired once the doubt become too great to hold inside. 

“I was going to pass by earlier but my errands took longer than I expected. I figured that you wouldn’t be there but went to check just in case.” 

Her foolish heart jumped and she clutched her coat close to it fearing that the useless muscle would escape her ribcage. She opened her mouth to make a self-deprecating remark, more to steady herself than anything, but closed it. 

What did all of that meant? 

Side eyeing him she couldn’t read his moonlit face. Did her presence keep his loneliness at bay like his did with hers? That’s why he fought against the time odds and went searching for her? And what did he make of her waiting for him? 

Anger popped and Y/N had to remember to continue walking before she made a fool of herself. Her attendance could send the wrong message: that she was desperate. 

His hand returned to her lower back and that touch removed her from her thoughts, making her focus on the door to her building. The walk had been so short! 

“Thank you, Mr. Shelby.” She said, eager to get inside and figure the situation out. 

He locked his arms behind his back and the posture made Y/N stop in her tracks. Taking a deep breath, he stared right into her eyes. 

“Can I kiss you right now?” 

A crystal-clear request with direct and objective words with no room for misunderstandings. The heat returned, burning her clavicles and her neck. 

“You don’t even know me,” She tried to reason as if people didn’t do far worse things with each other without knowing even knowing the other’s name. 

“Is that an impediment?” 

Her lips betrayed her and started to tingle with the prospect of a kiss, placing the last piece of a puzzle she was trying to solve for the past few weeks. That’s why her body craved his presence and was on edge once around him. She was starting to fall for him. 

He had a reputation, she had to remember, and a million rumours that followed. A few of them included a barmaid, the one before her at The Garrison, and how she stole his heart and ran away with it after she fled the city. 

Maybe the kiss was a way for him to rescue her memory and project on Y/N the shadow of what he lost. 

She opened her eyes adamant in refusing him, but all those high walls she set crumbled at the sight of his expectant gaze. In a way she was desperate. Desperate for companionship.  

Closing the distance between the two, she sealed their lips. His hands went to the back of her neck and she melted against his touch, lost in the dance of their tongues. 

Soft. The pressure he put on her skin, the depth of the kiss and the care with which he held her... Everything about him was unexpectedly soft. 

The necessity for air made itself urgent and the kiss had to be broken. 

“Now you know me a little bit better,” Tommy said. 

She smiled and enjoyed their proximity. At the beginning his presence unnerved her in the pub. Y/N was one of those people that didn't like to be observed while they worked, but that was an impossible task if she was a barmaid, and it didn't help that she was alone with Tommy Shelby. He didn’t pester or made inappropriate comments though. He respected her silence and that could be a good base for whatever was about to come.

“I’ll stop by tomorrow as usual,” He declared, unhooking from her grasp. 

Y/N nodded. 

“Night, Mr. Shelby.” 

“Goodbye, Y/N.” He said one last time grinning and walked away. 

She couldn’t wait for tomorrow.

An Evening at Arrow House

I've reached 2K followers, darlings! To thrill my dark little heart ❤, will you accept my invitation for some devilish fun? I'll begin with a brief story of why we're here.

Tommy has eloped with a young bride the family has deemed untrustworthy from reputable sources. The couple has just returned from their honeymoon in Paris and now the new Mrs. Shelby would like to meet those closest to him. The couple spares no expense for their lovely housewarming party, but it's ill-fated from the beginning as those Tommy holds near and dear try to run her off with tales of horror. Every room holds a surprise and each guest a secret, but what could they be?

That's where you come into play! Can we get Mrs. Shelby to crack under the weight of our deviousness? Let's try, it will be such fun!

I want to thank each one of you for following, for leaving ♥️, for sharing your thoughts and reblogs! It means absolutely everything to me ✨this is crazy, I never imagined I would get more than five, let alone this many.
