#ADDITIONALLY this headcanon means you can go beyond the three potentials from the contact book #and make Jason's second bio parent anyone you please #it could be Bruce! it could be a Rogue! it could even be Catherine #if she wasn't available to put her name on the birth certificate for some reason #it could be one of the Graysons from an earlier stop in Gotham! #we could pull a Reverse Uno on the Tim's Bio Dad fics and have it be Jack Drake!

Because oh does Repressed Bisexual Jack Drake have so much disaster potential. With Tim introduced in 1989 around age 12-13 so that puts his birth in the late 1970's (with Jason being mid 1970's). Jack & Willis having a one night stand (or even an ongoing thing) before Jack goes steady with Janet. Once Jack's married he tries to repress everything and convince himself sleeping with Willis doesn't count as being attracted to men. He buries that part of his life deep.

Maybe Willis never bothered to contact Jack after figuring out he was pregnant (especially if Jack is with Janet by then), or maybe he tried and Jack refused to talk to him. If it's a one night stand probably the former, if they had an ongoing thing maybe Jack changed his number. The Drakes are very much Gotham denizens but tend to move apartments, and this is the 1970's so shaking an ex isn't as hard as it is now.

Flash-forward nearly two decades and Lady Shiva finally clues Jason into his dad being trans, resulting in a whole new look at the birth certificate issue. Why the fuck didn't Sheila correct his assumption??? Why didn't Shiva tell him this when they asked her the first time since apparently she and Willis were LAMAZE CLASS BUDDIES?!?!?!?!?!

Then it turns out Bruce actually knew Tim & Jason were related... from that time in Under the Red Hood when Jason tossed B a batarang with his blood on it to prove he's the real Jason. B just never said anything because it was too awkward. If pressed he'll claim it "wasn't mission relevant" and clam up.

Except. Except. Bruce didn't know about Willis being trans either, and he didn't have Jack & Janet's dna samples on hand in the analyzer. He just has the bloodwork showing Jason & Tim are closely related, and assumed that Janet slept with Willis and Tim isn't Jack's.

(Since "Janet" does not start with a "Sh" Bruce has been assuming that Sheila was bribed to put her name on the birth certificate instead as a cover up for infidelity. This holds the most water if records show her a nurse at the hospital where Jason was born. If anyone involved was left alive to tell them, he'd know that Sheila was bribed, but so that Willis could be listed as the father without too many questions being asked.)

Everyone is reexamining their assumptions, and the timeline, and the bloodwork. Tim does NOT know how to feel about ANY of this. What do you mean his dad was bi??? Jack Drake? Jack Drake? Are you kidding me???

Jason is being hit with Yet Another Surprise Parent and is not happy about it. Sheila being his birth mom and selling him out sucked, if she wasn't even that then she just fucking lied to him to screw him over, and he had a whole-ass other parent this WHOLE TIME who it sounds like was a neglectful douchebag but stepped up whenever he noticed his kid was in danger and oh, yeah, Jason can never find out how Jack would feel about Jason's existence and if that protectiveness would extend to him because JACK DRAKE'S ALREADY FUCKING DEAD.

Shiva made popcorn and is having the time of her life.
