here’s the thing: neither one of the boys in this triangle is obligated to Aro’s reciprocating their case of the feels. she owes them nothing. it doesn’t matter what they’ve “done” for her or how they’ve “expressed” their love. the fact is, the choice of who she loves is her own. if that’s Sammaekjong, then fine. Sun Woo? great! Han Sung? fantastic! Soo Yeon? i’m 100% here for it! her potential lovers can do what they will to gain her trust (and her love), but it in no way, shape, or form entitles them to it.
and constantly violating her space, her comfort zone, her wishes is not the way to do it. the first encounter she has with Sammaekjong involves him sneaking up on her in a dimly lit room and violating her space. he encourages her fear of him taking advantage of (ie: ravishing her) and asks for private one-on-one sessions of smutty storytelling. reminder: it’s nearly the exact scenario that Ban Ryu very crassly suggests to Sun Woo to get him riled up. it earns him the moniker of the Okta Pervert, suggesting that Aro didn’t find it “romantic” at all. he proceeds to pursue her doggedly, setting his bodyguard on her, trailing her and coming to find her at her home.
so then he aids Sun Woo in saving her. the dramabeans recapper articulated this perfectly, and i’ll quote:
But mostly I just love the way [Sun Woo] always thinks of Ah Ro first — a good example being when the boys rescued Ah Ro from the bandits. Ji-dwi just started manhandling her, trying to untie her, but without speaking to her first. Of course she thought he was a bandit there to hurt her! But Sun-woo slowed down, spoke softly, told her they were there to help, and she calmed right down. He thinks of her needs first, which is really nice to see.
later he saves her from that asshole who beat up Mak Moon in the first episode, and yes that was very nice of him. Aro thanks him for it (and the time before) and promises that she’ll pay him back. and this is all that he is entitled to. gratitude? she’s given it to him along with her very trustworthy word that she’ll pay him back.
what he does is mark her; a very obvious violation of her boundaries, space, comfort zone, you name it. it’s a semi-permanent mark, almost as if he’s branding her. and indeed, he tells her that he’ll erase it for her when he deems the debt repaid. she calls him a scumbag then, and--rightly so. given that he uses this promise for monetary compensation to strongarm his way into her routines.
then when he still doesn’t get his way? (”stop talking about your orabeoni!”) he forces a kiss on her.
so tl;dr: the “little gratitude” he’s earned from Aro has been given. saving her a couple of times does not entitle him to her feelings. and indeed, could anyone blame her for not wanting to reciprocate?

❝ KIM SEOKJIN is a TWENTY THREE year old CARDIOTHORACIC SURGEON & SERIAL KILLER with NO AFFILIATION who goes by the name THANATOS ❞
trigger warning ━ gore, suffocation, mental illness !!
⇀ birth name: Kim Seokjin ⇀ fc choice: Kim Seokjin ⇀ alias: Thanatos ⇀ age: 23 (international. 25 Korean) ⇀ group: unaffiliated ⇀ occupation: Cardiothoracic Surgeon ( Serial Killer ) ⇀ sexual orientation: demiheterosexual ⇀ languages: korean, mandarin, japanese, english, french ⇀ height / weight: 181 cm // 64 kg ⇀ defining features: plump lips and under eyes, very broad shoulders, looks like an alpaca but especially when eating, red tie
TRIGGER WARNING gore, suffocation, mental illness
⇀ character’s personality:
Seokjin seems sweet but aloof, like any typical wealthy heartthrob. However, that is only because he is quite an awkward person. Peel back another layer, and he is dorky as well. He is one half of the angel children, with boundless amounts of talent and intelligence, and polished manners and chivalry. Behind the facade, they are demon children, using their intelligence for cunning, their talents on the operating table for more sinister actions, and their table manners to clean up after themselves without a trace. He is the calm to Wheein’s sea in public, but in private, he is what makes her even… C R A Z I E R.
While he is perhaps more sane than she, he still enjoys holding the heart in his hand as he feels it beating its last. His urges will rarely strike at random times, but when they do, he is skilled at stifling them - until later, that is. Then, he releases his beast, but in the most precise and painful way possible, carving them more precisely than a turkey. He particularly likes to carve down the lines and hollows of their victims’ throat, as if he is giving them gills, only to watch the blood drip down their neck and chest as Wheein later chokes out their life, grinning wider than the Cheshire cat.
Be careful not to insult or hurt his little owl. If you do, you will be next on the list to see the center of his layers.
⇀ personality tl;dr:
+ Super smart + Hard working + Caring / protective + Awkward in a cute way + The more sane twin
~ Pretty fine. Unless you do something that triggers his intense protective streak
- Possibly only really cares about Wheein - Has a shitton of layers - Still not quite sane - Enjoys a good torture-and-murder when he’s feeling vindictive
⇀ character history:
As the older twin child of Seoul Hospital’s director Jung Gaeul and Seoul University and Prep’s chairman Kim Taeyong, Kim Seokjin uses his golden spoon mainly to protect his sister’s silver one. And to spoil her rotten. In their childhood, Jung Wheein and Seokjin were joined at the hip, spending nearly every waking hour together, and sneaking out of their respective rooms at night to spend every sleeping hour together as well. They knew, and still know, each other better than they knew, and know, themselves. With ever busy and harried parents, it was only natural for them to stick to each other, sharing the other’s happiness, grief, stress, pastimes, their few other friends, and even their favorite drink.
(It happened to be pink lemonade. At galas, their father would sometimes have them drink something a bit alcoholic, so they learned how to spike it just the right way.)
Even in school, the one time that their father had given them different schedules when they were ten, Seokjin had skipped his own classes to match his sister’s, while his sister soon threw a fit in the main office. It came as such a surprise that the two most well-behaved and polite students had such a reaction, that their schedules were changed immediately.
Once, at the age of thirteen, when a classmate jokingly called Wheein a Baebsae, or Crow-Tit, basing their joke on Seokjin’s pet name for Wheein - his little Saw Whet, his little owl, or his little bird - the fierce glare that he had given them had been enough for them to to nearly piss their pants, and avoid the pair for the next year.
When they were home, their favorite places to chill out with each other were the library, each other’s rooms, the courtyard and backyard, and the giant kitchen. They stayed clear of the other rooms in the house - besides the dining room, of course - because they had been caught by company unawares more than once.
Only when they were younger did they have other friends, separate from each other. He met the girl with the strawberry lollipops for the first time when he was five and she, four. A few years later, school work consumed the time he would’ve otherwise spent playing with her.
They continue to live together, though moved out from their parent’s castle, really, when they graduated medical school at the age of eighteen. They had planned to do so once finishing high school, but twelve was apparently too young for their parents to allow. So they planned for university. Once again, fourteen was not old enough. They have since finished their residencies and have recently finished their fellowships, making them the youngest specialists in the hospital, if not the nation, by at least nine years.
Finishing school so quickly, of course, came with heavy tolls on their minds and mental health. It didn’t help that Wheein was beginning to go off the wire as well. For so long, their lives had been filled with nothing but each other, their parents’ stupid galas, and studying. Tutor after tutor after tutor greeted them each day when they arrived home from school, so that they could go as fast as possible through their studies. One day, she mused something that seemed to just be her thinking aloud by accident: “Oppa, don’t you think that the color of blood is such a beautiful red?” However, he had to agree. Sometimes, when he got paper cuts or other small wounds, he would just s t a r e at it, mesmerized by the deep, dark maroon oozing out of his skin. And so he replied, half distracted by his own thoughts, “it’s gorgeous.” (It was from that day onward that blood red became her signature lip color, and his tie (and handkerchief color.)
It was when they were sixteen when the trigger was pulled. An entitled asshole of a cousin, Kim Doshik would constantly made snide comments about the pair during his entire summer stay at their house. Seokjin would keep silent, giving small polite laughs even when Doshik made fun of his little bird, and smothering his rage. The last straw, however came with a statement so vile, all Seokjin could hear was the blood rushing in his ears:
“No one wants to fuck a chick who never leaves her brother.”
The next day, Seokjin’s knife coming at his eyes were the last thing he ever saw.
When he was reported missing the day after that, Seokjin and Wheein were the last to see him. But with the discovery of a smiling set of gleaming white teeth at an abandoned warehouse an hour away from the city, the Seoul Police Department became the true last witnesses.
All twenty seven of their victims have had the same thing done to them. Jaws pulled from their skulls so precisely that tweezing out any flesh hanging onto and blood vessels inside of their teeth takes a mere ten minutes at most, and bleached completely of any DNA are left as their signature.
They are known as Hypnos and Thanatos.

The Day After We Broke Up
Also known as “I Want To Protect You ~One More Time~"
Starting: Kim Myung Soo also known as L from the boy group Infinite as the male main lead, and Yoon So Hee as the female main lead.
Watch all 8 episodes here subbed.
If you haven’t watched it yet, below this will have a lot of spoilers.
All I know can say for this who will be watching is that I’m an emotional wreck right now and did not stop crying for 3 straight hours for the last 7 episodes. I can honestly say this has been one of Myung Soo’s BEST work. Like not only his improvement as a singer is shown but also as an actor. There is no way but up for him. My baby So Hee was amazing as always.
I'm an emotional wreck right now as I type this so idc if i make any sense. This will be messy af. I’m just venting rn, really.
From the start of this, I was already on board. Two of my main faves together in a drama as leads? Sign me tf up. Based on the summary I came in thinking of it t was going to be a cute time-traveling drama of a guy trying to gain back his girlfriend after being a douche. Never expected this to be like a butterfly effect drama. I didn't except to cry from episodes 2 all the way through episode 8. I’ve literally spent the last 3 hours of this drama crying.
Yoo Tak(Myung Soo) is part of an indie band with his two close friends and his girlfriend, Da In. Yoo Tak and Da In have been dating for the last 7 years, and like all long term relationships, problems arise and memories become forgotten and personality change. Yoo Tak is angry that he is not becoming successful even after 10 years of being in a band. He has no real income, but for the love of the music, he tries to bear with it.;
Da In is the supportive girlfriend who writes songs for the band to play. Her main concern is Yoo Tak. She literally does everything for him. On October 4th, Yoo Tak’s day became worse before it even started. He gets a call from an entertainment company and the owner/manager of the entertainment company tells him that he is wasting his time being in an indie band as he is already 26/7 years old;. Yoo Tak storms off and goes to perform with his band, One More Time, but he keeps on thinking about the offer and suddenly stops their performance and announces that the band is breaking up, then a fight breaks out and Da In tries to stop it then both her and Yoo Tak go outside to talk. Prior to this Da In has given Yoo Tak a scarf as a gift, which he says he hates and throws it back to her. They’re arguing and he breaks up with her and she tells him that she basically wasted her time with him. Then he calls his new manager to come and get him and they go party and he gets white boy wasted then he goes to the river and remembers his time with Da In then he falls in and this little girl comes in and asks it if he’s happy, and he says no that he regrets it. Then he wakes up in his room and blah blah, he realizes he is reliving the same day.
So at this point, I’m like okay this is good so he’ll basically need to make up with his girlfriend so he doesnt keep on reliving the same day over and over again. BUT I NEVER EXPECTED FOR SHIT TO HAPPEN THE WAY THAT IT FUCKING DID. I NEVER KNEW I NEVER THOUGHT!!
We see Da In getting into a car accident and she dies, and Yoo Tak sees that there has been a car accident, but he doesnt realize who it was so he leaves and he has been partying and living it up everytime he relives the same day. Da In before her accident saw him being cozy with his manager. Yoo Tak wakes up to rellive the same day yet again, but things are starting to happen differently. This time Da In breaks up with him through a voicemail and he goes and looks for her and tells her they’re not breaking up. So this has to be a cute moment, right? SO I FUCKING THOUGHT!!! YOO TAK AND DA IN ARE WALKING HOLDING HANDS, AND THIS MOTORCYCLE COMES AND YOO TAK PULLS DA SO SHE DOESNT GET HIT, BUT THERES A FUCKING TRUCK FUCKING COMING TOWARDS YOO TAK, BUT DA IN PUSHES HIM AND BITCH, BITCH DA IN GETS HIT!!!!!! I COULDNT BELIEVE!!! SO THEY GO TO THE HOSITPIAL AND SHE FUCKING DIES!! THEN THE ANGEL OF DEATH COMES IN, THAT IS WHO THE LIL GIRL IS!!!
She comes in and tells him the reason why hes reliving his days and that everytime on oct 4th, at 8 something pm, Da In will die. DA IN HAS BEEN DYING THIS TIME WHOLE!!!
I WASNT READY FOR THISS!!! Now we know why Yoo Tak is reliving his days! BUT GET THIS, NOTHING WILL SAVE HER FROM DYING!! I COULDNT FUCKING BELEIVE IT. MY BABY IS FATED TO DIE!!
We see Yoo Tak’s attempts to save her and failing every time. His last attempt, they were in the car driving at night and the car wouldnt stop. AND DA IN WAS LIKE ITS OKAY OPPA, THIS IS MY FATE. IM DYING TODAY, RIGHT? BITCH WHATTTTTT? SAY WHAT?!?!? I WAS FUCKING SHOOOOOKTTTTT
DA IN KNEW SHE WAS GONNA DIE?!?!? BITCHHHHHHHHHHHH I STILL COULDNT BELIEVE!!!
Then we learned her backstory where 7 years ago, she had/has a brain tumor and was dying. She was builled in school all the time and was like any depressed teenager, just waiting for her moment to die. Her parents died in a vessel accident and you know, from that moment as well she was DONE! Then the angel of death comes and talks to her and Da In says shes ready to die and they make a promise. Then Da In meets Yoo Tak again and they fall in love and now Da In wants to live. The angel of death comes and says time is up. Da In pleads for more time and they come to argreement that Da In will live as long as the love between her and Yoo Tak extists, but the moment is no long there, she will die. Her only condition to that is for the angel of death to ensure his happiness. They agree.
NOW YALL DID YOU READ/SEE THAT?! THIS IS WHY YOO TAK KEEPS RELIVING HIS DAY AND WHY DA IN KEEPS ON DYING
DA IN DIES BECAUSE THEIR LOVE ISNT THE SAME AND YOO TAK KEEPS RELIVING THIS DAY BECAUSE HE CANNOT BE HAPPY WITHOUT DA IN
ALL THIS HAS ME SHOOKT. SO IN MY MIND, THEY JUST NEED TO MAKE UP, BUT NOPE. LIFE ISNT LIKE THAT. Yoo Tak has his memories erased, but his heart cant forget Da In and he remembers her again and goes back to reliving the same day. For 99 days, he is reliving it over again. Watching his soulmate dying. He decides to make Da In happy on her last day ala the 100th day. Da In has been writing a song for him, but never finished it. So he takes it and completes the song after days. It’s a song about their love. Then he asks if she’s happy and she says yes and they kiss.
Then he tells her about her dying and she was like you knew? And he tells her that every time she dies, he will also die too. That they’ll always be together. Da In has one last wish and it is to go bungee jumping and they go together and they declare their love and they jump.
Yoo Tak wakes up in what used to be Da In’s place, but with no memories of Da In, but his heart is missing someone. THEN WE SEE THAT WE’RE IN A PLACE WHERE YOO TAK AND DA IN NEVER MET!! SO WE CAN ASSUME DA IN’S PARENTS NEVER DIED AND SHE GOT SURGERY FOR HER BRAIN TUMOR! Da In is engaged apparently, but her and Yoo Tak are both looking at the moon, then Da In decides to go for a walk and then we see Yoo Tak singing and the angel of death comes as a little girl and tells him to sing what's in his heart and he is singing one more time and da in listens and says nice good and yoo tak runs after her and asks if they’ve never met and he keeps going after her and IT ENDS WITH THEM SMILING AT EACH OTHER.
WE CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT DA IN LEAVES THAT GUY AND GETS TOGETHER WITH YOO TAK AND STARTS A NEW LOVE SINCE NONE OF THEM HAVE MEMORIES OF EACH OTHER SINCE IT WAS IF THEY NEVER MET AT ALL, BUT THEIR HEARTS KNOW. AND IN MY HEAD, THEY GET TOGETHER AND LOVE EACH OTHER LIKE THEY’RE SUPPOSED
I CANNOT. I DID NOT CRY FOR 3 HOURS FOR THIS TO JUST BE AN OPEN ENDED DRAMA LIKE NOPE. BUT IT WAS AMAZING FROM START TO FINISH! MYUNG SOO REALLY GREW AS AN ACTOR. ANY MYUNG SOO STANS NEEDS TO WATCH THIS!!! MYUNG SOO WAS SINGING SO MUCH TOO! LIKE IT WAS AMAZING. HE HAS IMPROVED SO MUCH!! AND HIS ACTING AND SO HEE’S MADE ME CRY SO MUCH! IT FELT SO DAMN REALISTIC! LIKE IT WAS WONDERFUL. I FELT ALL OF THEIR EMOTIONS! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!!! AND WE ACTUALLY HAD SO MANY KISS SCENES TOO!! I WAS SHOOKT. THIS WAS AMAZING AND NOT ONLY THAT, BUT MY BABIES WILL ALSO BE IN A NEW KDRAMA TOGETHER AS SECOND LEADS, I AM PRAYING THAT THEYRE COUPLED TOGETHER THERE AND THAT IS NOT A LOVE SQUARE WITH THE MAIN LEADS. LET US PRAY. OVERALL, YALL NEED TO WATCH THIS.

#kdramawomensweek || day five: femininity + her
⤷ Sung Deok Sun (Lee Hye Ri) ↦ Reply 1988 (2015)
“I could not return to my youth or that street either. Time always flows. Everything passes by and ages. That might be why youth is beautiful. Because it shines, blindingly bright at a brilliant short moment. But you can never go back.”
She is the frequent butt of her friends’ jokes; neither “smart” by their skewed standards, nor “pretty enough” to “deserve” verbal praise. At home, she is the forgotten middle child, overshadowed by her older sister’s brilliance and her younger brother’s neediness. In the total absence of validation, Deok Sun finds comfort in playing with makeup and hair spray, in arranging pretty outfits. Still, she--like so many of us--seeks the acknowledgement of the people around her. She craves affection and seeks reciprocation. It’s what prompts her first crushes. One of the standout moments of her and Sun Woo’s short, ill-fated romance is of Deok Sun running to her room just as Sun Woo comes to pick her up and slathering on foundation (top row, right). Makeup is how she finds confidence. She wears it like warpaint.
Her femininity is her pride. It is what she has, when even her mother gives up on her dreams of Deok Sun gaining admission to a university.
Fast forward five years, and we see Deok Sun beautiful and grown up, with long hair and makeup done to perfection. We see her in heels and in skirts. She’s a flight attendant, a profession (in that time) known for its beautiful women. She is successful, she takes care of her parents, she has fulfilled nearly every dream she has had for herself. But most importantly, she has learned to love herself. She has learned to harness the femininity that had been her last bit of pride and she has turned it into a career. And that, I think is her true love story. Deok Sun’s is the story of how she stops pinning her worth on others’ opinions of her, and learns that at the end of the day it only matters that she is happy with who she is.
