Idk if it's been mentioned, but what are the general ages of Lady L, her siblings, and the Targtower kids?
great question! now like the showrunners (and *cough* grrm) …… i play fast and loose with the ages so even when i give actual ages here….. don’t take them too seriously tbh.
now i’ve aged everyone up slightly. partly due to my own comfort level but also because during medieval times, young or even midteens having babies wasn’t common. teenagers tend to have hard pregnancies and, in a world without modern medicine, they tend to die because of that and, contrary to popular belief, people were smart enough to try and avoid that if possible.
this makes it especially egregious in my fic that viserys married two young teenage girls and subjected both of them to multiple pregnancies with very little if any breathing room but i digress
now for the ages (again fast and loose and i’m bad at math)
lannisters:
tyland, jason, and johanna - early forties
cerelle - 22
tyshara - 20
lady l - 19
jeyne - 15
joy - 11
loren - newborn
tygett - 23
jocasta - 14
targtowers:
alicent - mid thirties
aegon - 21
helaena - 20
aemond - 19
daeron - 17
a few extra characters:
cregan - 19
baela - 18
victor (rest in pieces) - 24
jace - 17
luke - 15
if there’s any more you’d like to know, just lmk!
#kinda love small minute details like this thanks for asking!!#also in my heart of hearts every character is secretly their actor’s age with some obvious exceptions but that obviously can’t work#i’m just bitter i’m older than everyone but victor 😞#answered#edit: aged jeyne up to 15 just bc i realized that she needed to be able to at least write scribbles before lady l left for kings landing#she’s now the most advanced 5 yo to ever walk the planet

I know the mentions of Mark is mostly to make fun of him, but it has me wondering if you've ever thought about bringin in Madison or Emma. Unless she's under some form of inprisonment for her crimes, I thought it'd be nice to hear from Emma's side given that she worked closer with Monarch than Mark. And I only bring up Madison because I also think it'd be interesting to see the soap opera of Isla de Mara from a kid's perspective (but you could also do that with any kid from the island)
Yo Emma attempted genocide. Like. That's straight up what she did. That was full-on genocide. Every single titan she was okay with releasing was an "I'm okay with potentially every single human being in a hundred mile radius dying, along with whatever humans live in the direction it's heading next, and then on top of that all the humans that don't have the means and resources to survive seventeen simultaneous natural disasters, i.e., everyone who isn't either a millionaire or an extremely lucky crazed survival nut." I do not say this as criticism, because it makes her an excellent villain; rather, I say it to explain oh she is EXTREMELY under imprisonment. There is not the slightest little chance in hell that she's NOT under imprisonment. She is the most imprisoned person on the planet.
I do want to write some about her, though. We see very little of what led her to her terrorist buddies, but somewhere in her character is a very believable, very sad, very infuriating story about how an average humdrum white woman ended up spiraling into grotesque ecofascist extremism due to a combination of grief, isolation from people with more rational viewpoints, and a lack of people checking up on what the fuck's been going through her head since her son died and her husband went off the rails. So yeah, I would like to explore her character—see if maybe she can realize what she's become, see how the people who love her process what she's become.
It's just that if it happens, it's gonna be in one of those prison meeting rooms where the convict and the visitor are talking on phones from either side of a plexiglass wall. Or during some kind of "oh no! we've got a manufactured crisis on our hands that ONLY somebody with Dr. Emma Russell's EXACT skills can help solve, let's bring her in with handcuffs and four armed guards" plotline. And I've got no plans for any such thing right now. Exploring Emma's perspective is something that would be neat, but it's not currently a goal.
Madison's also someone I want to bring in—and doing so would be a lot easier than Emma—but it would be a challenge to get her in on any sort of main plot (so it would mainly be a "humans react to titans" fic rather than one of the fics that advance the story) AND it would probably not be done in a way that I think most readers would be expecting/hoping for.
Because like, most people have been characterizing post-movie Madison as spunky sassy energetic child all gung-ho to hang out with her new extended titan family. But like, look at what happened to her in the movie, and this is a child who:
1) got hauled along on a plan to cause the apocalypse
2) saw her mother unleashing Rodan on a civilian population
3) saw her mother unleashing Ghidorah on her father
4) watched a bunch of terrorists murder, like, a whole lot of people, including a lot of people she personally knew because they worked with her mom—like she was walking between corpses and everything
5) thought the titans were going to destroy the entire planet and felt personally responsible for stopping it
6) was nearly murdered—deliberately and knowingly—by Ghidorah
7) probably thought that she was gonna get accidentally stepped on by Godzilla or Ghidorah; had to physically run away from them in a hurricane by herself
8) had Rodan and Mothra crashing all around her while she tried to get into her childhood home
9) sank to the ground with her hands over her ears shrieking in helpless terror because she could die at any second and there was absolutely nothing left she could do to stop it
10) at some point had her entire goddamn house come down on her and she almost drowned in the bath tub, which means either Rodan or Mothra actually DID crash into her house while she was inside it.
But she yelled at Ghidorah when he yelled at her, so she's a spitfire that can bounce back from anything, right?
When/if Madison comes into the story again, it's not going to be as excited Designated Human Friend To The Titans. (Along with all of the above, it also wouldn't make sense for her dad to haul her along with him to work, considering all the shit that happened when Emma did that.) It's going to be as a child who went through a dozen traumatic experiences in one night, from multiple personal threats to her life to multiple threats to the lives of those she loves to multiple threats to the global life of the planet. This is a child whose dad keeps trying to stop her from obsessively tracking the news to see if any titans are acting up again and who jumps every time the big a/c unit outside rumbles on because it sounds like the distant footstep of a 400-foot-tall monster.
Madison is strong and is resilient, but you don't sink to the floor screaming like that without coming away with at the least some psychological bruises, but more likely scars. And it's only been a few weeks since all that happened.
So when she checks the news out of Isla de Mara, it's not from the perspective of a kid seeing what strange activities these big interesting animals are up to. It's from the perspective of a near murder victim tracking the location of her attempted murderer. She stared dead into Ghidorah's eye seconds before he attempted to kill her. That's what she's thinking about when she sees him.
Isla de Mara has decided Rodan’s off the hook for blowing half their town away because he was only responding in self-defense to an unprovoked attack by the U.S. Air Force; plus they know that Rodan is, apparently, capable of beating Ghidorah in a fight if need be; plus they get treated to lovely views like Ghidorah going into full Hissing Cobra Mode at a piece of threatening-looking driftwood; so they’re more willing to look favorably at Rodan, and they’ll barely give Ghidorah a chance to prove he won’t be a douchenozzle.
