I shall answer from Blondie’s perspective, roughly now in-game (24 ATC).

1. What is your name?

“Greyias Highwind.”

2. Do you know why are you named that?

She gives it a moment, seeming to take a moment to compose herself. “It’s possible it’s a family tradition. I never thought to ask when I was young.”

3. Are you single or taken?

“I am--settle down Theron, it’s just a question--I am in a committed relationship, thank you.”

4. Have any abilities or powers?

“I am a Jedi, and the Force is my constant companion and ally. Sometimes it grants me the ability to do things that some people might see as a power.”

5. Stop being a Mary Sue.

She blinks. “We already established my name. I’m sorry, are you feeling all right?”

6. What’s your eye color?

“They are blue.”

7. How about your hair color?

"It is a dark blonde color.”

8. Have any family members?

A dark look comes across her face and she gets quiet for a long time, lips pressing together tightly as she decides how to answer the question. As if flipping a switch, she smiles brilliantly. “I like to think of my crew and the Alliance as my family.” Someone next to her clears their throat loudly. “Which would of course include my husband who for some reason won’t leave and let me answer these questions by myself.”

9. Oh? How about pets?

“I do love animals, but it would be irresponsible for me to try and care for--” She stops as a sheet of flimsi is shoved in her hand. “What is--? Bergola and the Exoboars? I would hardly call them pets. More friends that--” she squints at the paper. “Speedy the Turtle is not a pet! He lives on the beach. And he’s not stupid, Theron!”

10. That’s cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don’t like?

“Someone shoving notes in my hand because he can’t mind his own business.” Another sheet of flimsi is shoved into her hand, almost on cue. “Oh, for--these questions aren’t suspicious! This nice person isn’t trying to steal my identity, they’re just striking up friendly conversation!”

11. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?

“I would love to take up baking, but for some odd reason Lana has banned me from ever entering the kitchen again.”

12. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before?

She purses her lips again before answering. “Yes.”

13. Ever… killed anyone before?

Her lips press together so tightly this time they start to lose color and she simply nods.

14. What kind of animal are you?

“I... am a human? Is that what you’re asking? Or is it what kind of animal I would like to be? Because if that’s the question I would love to be a majestic thranta, soaring through the sky!”

15. Name your worst habits?

“I suppose I’ve never thought about it. I guess I might sometimes act a little rashly depending on the circumstances--” 

Another sheet of paper is shoved in her hand. 

“Oh, you already had a list of these at the ready? Why I--” she looks at the paper. “Martyr syndrome? Too friendly to random strangers asking probing questions? Preachy? Takes idiotic risks? Secretive? I’m secretive? That’s a riot coming from you!”

16. Do you look up to anyone at all?

“I was going to say my husband, but I’ve decided to remove his name from the list. Because I’m secretive like that.” She seems to realize that’s not an answer. “Oh right. Your question. I think a proper Jedi should always find something to admire in those around them.”

17. Are you gay, straight or bisexual?

"I... you know I’ve never really considered that. I mean for the longest time it never really was anything I considered. I am a Jedi, and dedicate myself to the Force--” A loud derisive snort cuts her off, and she shoots a dark look in that direction. “And then I met a very rude, nosy spy that made me start to rethink things. I mean, there was a moment there where I got a little conflicted with Lana, but that was complicated and--stop looking at me like that--anyway. As I was saying... what was the question?”

18. Do you go to school?

“I was taught the ways of the Jedi first by my Master, Thyos Dae, before I continued my studies, first at the Jedi Enclave on Bespin, then at the temple on Tython.”

19. Ever want to marry and have kids one day?

“Well, I am married so,” she shrugs. “As for kids... um.” She looks a bit nervous. “That never really came up in discussion. I mean, we both have such dangerous careers, and we’re so busy, I don’t know. Maybe now isn’t the time to discuss that.”

20. Do you have any fangirls/fanboys?

“I don’t... think so. I am not sure why anyone would consider themselves such.” 

Another note appears in her hand. “How many of these do you have? Oh fine, let’s see what this one says... Theron, don’t lie! There is not a fan club devoted to me at the SIS. That’s ridiculous! I just happened to get pulled in on a lot of missions for them.”

21. What are you most afraid of?

She glances to the man next to her and shakes her head very emphatically. “I’m not answering that.”

22. What do you usually wear?

“I wear...clothes?”

23. What’s one food that tempts you?

“Sweet mallow. It’s... really delicious. Just a bit sweet.”

24. Am I annoying to you?

“Why would you say that? You’re not the one passing me notes every five seconds.”

“O... kay. Continue then.”

“I am a Jedi Knight.” She frowns. “Oh, you meant status-wise? I... don’t think I have one.”

“I don’t particularly keep count. Can you ever really have too many friends?”

“I think it is very tasty. Apparently it’s very difficult to make, though.”

“Caffa.”

She smiles and glances to the dedicated note writer next to her. “Rishi.”

“Yes, even though he tries my patience a great deal.”

“I don't see why.”

33. Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean?

“I do like the beach,” she says, giving a half-glance at the man next to her. “So I guess the ocean?”

“Idiotic spies with a tendency to pass a lot of notes.”

“I don’t... I don’t...” She turns bright pink and looks embarrassed, but that quickly changes to a deep red as yet another note is shoved in her hand. She gives the note writer a thoroughly unimpressed look. “You’re not funny.”

OC Interview

My lovely Alvad sis, @oops-gingermoment tagged me in this, and since I have done very little writing lately, I’m throwing back to my original OC.

The rules: Answer the following questions as your OC of choice.

So, this is Scarlett Jean Trevelyan. I began writing her story ages ago and it is a story that is near and dear to my heart. I Didn’t Ask For This was based on a one-shot I wrote and then continued to grow. The fact that Spirit Healers didn’t exist in the world of the Inquisition bothered me. I couldn't help but think how wonderful it would be for Cullen to have someone like that around. (She is also my icon. Though, Scarlett’s hair is VERY long. Typically worn in a braided style, a la Katniss.)

1. What’s your name?

Depends on who you ask. Some call me Scar, others, the Herald, Inquisitor, Inky... I’m not one hundred percent sure anyone knows my name is actually Scarlett Jean Trevelyan. 

2. Do you know why you are named that?

I assume because my mother was feeling cheeky. (She runs her fingers through the long bangs that have fallen into her face as a gesture to her hair color.) Though, Jean was my mother’s name. 

3. Are you single or taken?

Oh, very much taken. (She takes the hand of her Commander. Her fingers play small circles over his exposed skin.)

4. Have any abilities or powers?

(She laughs and flips her hand over to reveal the mark. It glows green even in the brightly lit library.) Besides me being a mage of rather remarkable note, (the sarcasm is clear in her voice.) Let’s see... I can seal rifts. That’s something, I suppose. 

5. Stop being a Mary Sue.

Who is Mary Sue? And didn’t you just ask my name? That’s a new one. (She nudges Cullen’s side, “See, people call me anything but my actual name.” I sense a hint of embarrassment coming off of the Commander and smile when I realize this must be an inside joke of some sort.) 

6. What’s your eye color?

uhh, blue. (”Saphire,” the Commander intones. She rolls her eyes then turns back to me for the next question.)

7. How about your hair color?

Is there a point to this? Haven’t we covered this? My mother was being cheeky about my name... Red... Scarlet... Maker’s Breath.

8. Have any family members?

My family abandoned me just before the conclave. But, if I’m completely honest, I have found a new family. A better one. One that exists in my heart. (She smiles fondly at Cullen and then her eyes scan the nearby railing. I see a few familiar faces from the Inquisition and as she meets the eyes of her companions, they exchange smiles and nods.) 

9. Oh? How about any pets?

(Cullen cannot contain his laughter. Scarlett casts him an irritated glare.) As you know, Ferelden’s have a fondness for Mabari. I have yet to obtain one but that hasn’t stopped someone from going ga-ga every time someone brings one into the keep. And I guess you could say, my horse is a pet. Though, I don’t consider him such. He is my battle companion. He is treated well. 

10. That’s cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don’t like.

This interview... kidding... I really don’t care for fake people and false pretenses. 

11. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?

When I was in the Circle, my one major love was cooking. It’s rare that I get the chance to do it now and if I attempt, people act like I am committing some kind of sin. The Inquisitor surely has better things to do than to take on the job of a servant. (The sarcasm drips from her words.) Pish, that’s a load of... (Cullen clears his throat. Scarlett rolls her eyes but doesn’t finish her sentence.)

12. Have you hurt anyone in any way before?

What kind of question is that? I am the Inquisitor. I dole out justice on a daily basis.

13. Ever… killed anyone before?

Too many.

14. What kind of animal are you?

Uhh, what?

15. Name your worst habits?

I have trouble sleeping. Sometimes I wander the Keep in not enough clothing. This irritates some and gives people something to gossip about. I have never really been the modest sort, so I see no harm in wandering about in my night clothes. 

16. Do you look up to anyone at all?

My advisors. Cassandra, Dorian, Varric... All of my companions, really. They all have such a fire in them to see real change. It is inspiring to keep that level of company. 

17. Are you gay, straight or bisexual?

In the Circle, you will find that sexuality is fluid. We seek companionship above all else. There are some more traditional than others but for the most part, bisexuality is not that uncommon. For men or women. 

18. Do you go to school?

I was in the Circle for years. Most of my life has been schooling and education of some sort. And Solas and Vivienne have continued my education here at Skyhold. 

19. Ever want to marry and have any kids one day?

Of course, that is every Mage’s hope and dream for the future. We have been forbidden from such for so long. I am hoping to change that. 

20. Do you have any fangirls/fanboys?

Does Cullen count? (The Commander blushes again. She seems to enjoy making him do so.)

21. What are you most afraid of?

Fear is something I live with every day. I didn’t ask for this mark on my hand and we have yet to learn the extent of its power. I fear the coming days, Corypheus, the Red Templars, the Orlesean court. But fear keeps you on your toes, keeps you ready to face what is coming. There is no good solider, still alive, who doesn’t go into battle without fear. 

22. What do you usually wear?

My Inky jammies. (Cullen sniggers.) Mostly leggings and a tunic, but some people have referred to my wardrobe as too casual. I prefer to be comfortable. Though, I do miss my silk gowns from the circle but they are no longer practical. 

23. What one food tempts you?

Fish. I am from the Free-Marches where fish is abundant. In Skyhold, it seems to be somewhat of a delicacy. 

24. Am I annoying you?

If you were annoying me, I would simply leave. It’s nice to be asked inane and boring questions sometimes. Not many people ask me about myself anymore. It is usually people asking for something or asking about “the Herald of Andraste.”

25. Well, it’s still not over!

Well, let’s get to it it then, shall we?

26. What class are you (low/middle/high)?

I don’t know anymore. In my past, high born. I am the Inquisitor. I have rank and am leader of the Imquisition. What does that mean when this is all over?

27. How many friends do you have?

A few close companions. 

28. What are your thoughts on pie?

I love pie. Sweet and savory. Starkhaven is famous for a fish pie that is to die for and I can’t say no to a good apple or berry pie. 

29. Favourite drink?

COFFEE!!! I need it to survive, it is essential.

30. What’s your favorite place?

The battlements. I really love the view from Skyhold. It reminds me of the vastness of this world and all of the many people in it. It gives me hope for the future. 

31. Are you interested in anyone?

Really?

32. That was a stupid question…

Yes, it was.

33. Would you rather swim in the lake or the ocean?

I guess a lake. Though, I do not get the pleasure often.

34. What’s your type?

A sharp mind. A witty sense of humor. Someone who isn’t afraid to show their weakness and be therefore stronger for it. Someone who can keep up with me in battle and has the heart to match their strength. 

35. Any fetishes?

Well... (Cullen nudges her in the side, trying to quiet her words.) What? I was just going to say, Templars! Quit poking me. 

36. Camping indoors or outdoors?

Camping is outdoors, you silly goose. There is no such thing as camping indoors.

“ -- ah, this one is merely a humble rurouni, that he is. His existing or non-existing skills are irrelevant in mere conversation .

 If we were in a time of crisis, this one would mention them, if he felt it relevant, he would. Quite frankly he means no harm, nor feels it fitting for power to flaunt power - if it must be shown, it will be shown, yes?’

“ Hm....? A...shade of purple, he supposes! He doesn’t tend to think about it!”A light laugh.

“...Is it that odd? No, this one has not. Though it warrants many stares at times - red is not common in this one’s country of birth.”

8. DO YOU HAVE ANY FAMILY MEMBERS?

“ This one has many reliable friends in his life. He feels he has been more than fortunate to have even one of them, much less a place so familiar now.” Best not go into wherever his brother-in-law was, much less that he was a widower by his own hands.

9. DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS?

“ …No he does not, but he is fond of animals.” ( they made good companions in ten years of solitude and gravitating from place to place to observe the country’s condition. )

10. TELL ME ABOUT SOMETHING YOU DON’T LIKE.

“ The act of murder and the taking of life along with the oppression of the weak and those not able to completely defend themselves - especially those who do it for the sake of no reason at all - it cannot be allowed. ” 

11. DO YOU HAVE ANY HOBBIES OR ACTIVITIES YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

“ Hm, Kaoru-dono has many chores for this one - between making the meals he can’t say he has many!  Does perhaps meditation count? He does very much like to clean - laundry, ah, yes, who doesn’t like clean clothes when one is finished?  ” ( does giving the misguided and wicked an overpowered beat down to protect the innocent and suffering count is that valid enough reporter-dono.. )

“ ...Does it look like I could hurt someone with a blade like this? ” ( the less you know the better! )

“Could I kill with a blade that again, is facing this one on its edge, not your body? ” ( ....More like the hundred count as a shadow assassin in his first four months - after that, he counted, he remembered, and it was high enough as a front-line swordsman of the Bakumatsu. 

The Battle of Toba Fushimi’s end he’d long before felt he had been walking in skulls wide-awake. But of course, he’s trained himself enough to be unassuming that not even his hand twitches, but his heart stabs itself inwardly with that constant pain and his eyes feel too frayed to continue masking it seamlessly. )

14. WHAT KIND OF ANIMAL ARE YOU?

“ …He should like to be something like a bird, perhaps? A rabbit? Those are cute, are they not?  ” ( he took after his sword-style, the might and terror of a DRAGON, the protectiveness of its heart, the raw power with which none withstood it. he was more suited to be something which was feared or reviled. )

“ Oro... perhaps not being able to fully withstand Kaoru-dono’s food. ” Self-hatred, negligence of his life, his temper losing its control, his penchant for distancing himself subconsciously - thinking the real answers while giving light-hearted half-truths was exhausting, he thought.

16. DO YOU LOOK UP TO ANYONE?

“ Of course. Those who seek for peace and have strong wills to protect and help others in any field of work are given my highest respects, that they are. Merely living in this world and enduring tomorrow would garner enough respect if one had a positive viewpoint.

 Even then survival is brave, to live even in great straits is to have courage in some form is it not?  Having goals is admirable as well in life. He thinks there is much to admire and care for in the human heart, that he certainly does. ”

“ ........ Oro?! “ ( The heart attracts him, not the body. But he heavily leans towards woman, very likely to be demisexual with a strong female lean / preference, but Kenshin has never mulled on it.  He’s never really thought about it, but the loves of his life have both been women. )

“ No he does not but he lives at one! The instructor is a fiery spirit she is!” ( he went to school as a child then became an unstoppable killing machine/legend/nightmare in the war that shook the foundation of his country into a new era while the people who were his commanding authorities in that war didn’t seem to mind much that he was just a boy as long as he could do thrice what a grown man could do in seconds. )

19. DO YOU EVER WANT TO MARRY AND HAVE KIDS SOMEDAY?

“ …He wonders!” ( .... to think he’d be worthy of such a thing again. when he was already so unworthy the first time. it’s painful to smile without showing anything. he adored children - and love, well....how long could he keep that up? )

20. DO YOU HAVE ANY FANS?

“ …He doubts it, and if so he’d politely ask them to not. That sounds rather strange. ”

21. WHAT ARE YOU MOST AFRAID OF?

“ Haven’t you heard if you voice your biggest fears all the more do they become larger in your head and more likely to you in your mind to happen? ” ( failing to protect what he loves most again. failing to protect a life. succumbing to his hitokiri nature again. traveling atonement’s path and never finding the full ‘answer’ for his sins. a woman coming to their door telling him to his face once again, like the brave, very few that he has orphaned her of a son, a husband, a relative by a hitokiri’s hands - his past hurting the ones he loved and putting them in in danger far worse than it already had. )

22. WHAT DO YOU USUALLY WEAR?

“ What this one is wearing...?” (sometimes he wears a blue gi. but it’s always this, and he’s fine with it. he isn’t very materialistic even in practicality.)

“ … That’s a broad question!” (a fiery-eyed kenjustu inheritor and master of the life-giving style of  kamiya-kasshin, horrible cook, vibrantly emotional, as warm as the softest morning -- and not his to have. )

“ Pardon? ” ( he’s confused. )

“ Many! He’s very fortunate that he can’t even count them on both hands! ” ( and they all knew of his past. it astounded him. )

Hmm...” he looked as if he might add something else to the list, then seemed to think better of it. “That’s it!”

And, w-well,” a bit of red dusted over his ears, “...I call Kirika-san ‘auntie’ a lot.” His eyes lit up. “Oh! Emily ( @aemiliius​ ) kinda makes me think of a big sister, too!”

9. DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS? “Yeah, Giara! He’s a... guess the best way t’ pet it is demon bull. We tried to eat him at first!”

10. TELL ME ABOUT SOMETHING YOU DON’T LIKE. “That’s easy: Pain. I hate pain.”

11. DO YOU HAVE ANY HOBBIES OR ACTIVITIES YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME? “Mhhm~! I like t’ train, wrestle, read manga, listen to Saeki play the piano ‘n Tagami play the guitar, eat grass with Giara, go out explorin’, play pranks with Kirishima, make snake food-- oh! And recently, Saitou-san brought back this thing that we hooked up t’ the TV that lets you play games on it! Also, finding new things to eat is fun.” He ended his long list with an enthusiastic chomp of his teeth. “Ah-- I’ve started crafting stuff too. And Tanizaki says I spend a lot of time acting like an idiot, so I guess that’s a hobby too.”

12. HAVE YOU EVER HURT ANYONE BEFORE? “Oh yeah, all the time! I do it a lot on accident too.” A shadow passed over his face temporarily, this one inkier than the slanted darkness that typically obscured the upper half of his face. “Hmm... I still gotta apologize...” he mumbled to himself, the rest of his words too quiet to hear.

13. HAVE YOU EVER… KILLED ANYONE? “Not anyone mortal ‘n living! That’s against the rules, unless it can’t be helped.”

14. WHAT KIND OF ANIMAL ARE YOU? “A lion.” He answered this question without a hint of hesitation.

15. NAME YOUR WORST HABITS. “Umm...” his eyes narrowed. “Let’s see... I probably over-eat a lot. Ehh... I bite too much, and sometimes I can’t stop talking. I tend t’ try to grab stuff outta people’s hands without warning when I want to see it real bad. Uhh... I get told I need to be more mindful’a personal space. Mmm...” he didn’t seem to have any issue with owning up to his flaws, of which he had many-- up until again, that uncharacteristic somberness came back. “...I get outta control when I get overstimulated one too many times.”

16. DO YOU LOOK UP TO ANYONE? “Yup! Saeki ( @gokusxtsus​ ) since he’s so good at everything, Chris ( @hyacinthsgirl​ ) ‘cause she’s really fun but mature at the same time, Kirishima ( @gokusxtsus​ ) since he’s so responsible, Emily ( @aemiliius​ ) ‘cause’a how gentle but tough she is, Victoria ( @pxndxrasbox​ ) because she’s super cool, and I think all of us look up to Rokkaku-san ( @gokusxtsus​ ) as the chief.” He tipped his head to the side and rubbed the back of his neck. “I admire Tagami ( @vermillion-eyed​ ) a lot too, since he’s smart and really cool when he does stuff... uh, yeah! That’s it!”

17. GAY, STRAIGHT, OR BISEXUAL? “Huh?” He hasn’t quite figured out what most of these terms mean in modern language. 

18. DO YOU GO TO SCHOOL? “Nope! Tagami tutors me sometimes though.”

19. DO YOU EVER WANT TO MARRY AND HAVE KIDS SOMEDAY? He blinked a few times. “I don’t think that’s possible. I--” he cut himself off and furrowed his eyebrows. “Dunno. Never thought about it!”

20. DO YOU HAVE ANY FANS? “Yup! I keep one in my room, right by my futon ‘cause I sweat a lot in my sleep during the summertime.”

21. WHAT ARE YOU MOST AFRAID OF? Hirahara cocked his head, smile going blank for a second. “We’re not really afraid’a anything, I think.” Silence elapsed for a moment. He sucked in a short breath. “I really don’t like the thought of not bein’ able to move, though. And--” the thought of being left to starve terrifies me. “I don’t like getting super hungry.”

22. WHAT DO YOU USUALLY WEAR? “My uniform!” He patted the starch green jacket of said uniform.

23. DO YOU LOVE SOMEONE? “Love someone? Well, I think I do!” His smile widened. “Saeki says it better than I do, but I like all of us! And I’ve met a lot of people I think I love, too. But um... I don’t think I really get what love means?” He saw now reason he shouldn’t admit to that, and so continued on, “Like, I know there’s different versions of it besides the marriage kind of love, but...” he trailed off and shrugged. “...ehh... I’ve gotten funny feelings about someone recently too.”

24. WHAT CLASS ARE YOU? “Huh?”

25. HOW MANY FRIENDS DO YOU HAVE? “Lots! And I wanna make more!”

26. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON PIE? “Kirika-san makes the best!”

27. FAVORITE DRINK? “Hm, I like soda a lot.”

29. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE? “I can’t just choose one favorite place!”

30. ARE YOU INTERESTED IN SOMEONE? “Interested?” He cocked his head, completely at a loss. “Whaddaya mean by that?”

31. WOULD YOU RATHER SWIM IN THE LAKE OR THE OCEAN? “Either’s fine with me! Now that I think about it... I dunno when the last time I went to the ocean, so it’d be fun to go there soon.”

32. WHAT’S YOUR ‘TYPE’? “My type of what?”

33. ANY FETISHES? Cue a smile and an extremely blunt answer: “I’ve never had sex before, so how can I have a fetish?”

34. TOP OR BOTTOM? DOMINANT OR SUBMISSIVE? “Uh-- what?” He might have known what a fetish is, but he doesn’t know what any of these terms mean aside from their traditional definitions. “I... don’t know?”
