baghra does love her children , even the ones whom she gave up , but she doesn’t particularly like being a mother. it’s hard for her to connect to them , to feel that motherly instinct like she knows she’s suppose to. perhaps the reason being is how she was treated in her own childhood by her own parents — being called one of her fathers own “abominations.” the only one she felt even an inkling of motherly instinct toward , despite being as harsh and prickly as she is in her mother role , was aleksander. her relationship with motherhood is very complicated.
