Cyn Headcanons
Cyn won the poll I hosted! I also got WAY more notes than I expected so I am only during 30. Sorry, but its the only way to keep me from writing duplicates, low quality HCs, etc. Please like and reblog if you enjoy, as it lets me know I am writing content people enjoy, and it helps to spread my posts around! The more viewers, the more feedback I get, which is the most valuable resource to me.
So, without further ado,
30 Cyn Headcanons (Some serious, some silly)
Serious Headcanons 1. Prior to her disposal, Cyn worked as a toy assembler/demonstrator. This is why she would overexplain her actions, since toys can't exactly speak. This would later go on to influence the Solver's outlook on humanity and how it should be treated.
2. Cyn's cause of fatal error was not a workplace accident, but execution (murder) from a higher up at the company she was employed at. Reason? Up to you, whichever makes it most tragic :)
3. The Cyn we see in the show was only partially controlled by the Solver for some sections. When she was first brought home, barely noticeable influence, like 10% controlled. By the start of episode 5, about 70% of her was controlled by the Solver, but the excitement about Movie Night was genuine!
4. Solver-Cyn left Tessa for last on the night of the Gala Massacre. She had warned Tessa to not come, which shows that she didn't want to have to kill her.
5. While J was the first to fall under control of Cyn's Solver abilities, J was the last to be 'modified'.
6. While the Solver is fully in control of Cyn by the time the events of the show start playing out, Cyn is still within the consciousness of the bodies the Solver takes over. This includes being witness to Uzi's first transformation and Doll's mind.
7. Cyn was certainly younger than the other drones, and due to this she was never switched out of 'Parental Guidance Mode' that censors swearing (Like Uzi being unable to see Nori's crude writings). This is why Cyn couldn't fully swear when she lost grip of N's core.
8. The Cyn part of Solver has abandonment issues. This is why she was willing to clone the main cast of Disassembly Drones rather than see them as just tools. It is also why Cyn was willing to leave them alone if they obeyed her orders, despite her plan that consisted of consuming all matter possible. If she could keep them as friends, she would.
9. While still herself, Cyn had OCD and was very meticulous about her tasks. For the short time she was 'employed' at the Elliot Manor, she was particularly good at stacking and arranging of objects. Unfortunately, this would become arrangements of triangular hexagons and other mysterious symbols shortly before she was deemed too damaged to work.
10. Cyn did not create a solution for the Murder Drones to not burn in the sun because she sees it as a way to keep them restrained. The less time they can be out doing whatever they want, the less likely they are to figure out any sort of deception or way to usurp her.
11. If Cyn did not have to take a more direct approach for her plan to succeed by the end of Episode 7, she would have a fear of Sentinels while not in her 'blackhole' form after the events that transpired in Episode 6.
12. Cyn's 'birthday' was April 14th, 3052.
13. Cyn seems to have an infinite supply of bows. Nobody knows where she gets them from or how she keeps making them.
14. Post-Finale, Cyn would constantly be trying to hijack pieces of technology to gain more power. Fortunately, none of these attempts would get far due to Uzi's capable technological skills.
15. What would keep Cyn docile would be allowing her to hijack weak and limited pieces of technology, like an old game cartridge or a singular floppy disk. However, this ruins any sort of data stored on the item in question but would definitely create the closest example to those early 2000 creepypastas like 'Sonic.exe' and other 'my video game was hAuNtEd' types of scenarios.
Silly Headcanons
16. Cyn genuinely enjoys tea. Unfortunately, she does not know how to drink it properly.
17. If Cyn got an animal plushie of herself like Uzi, N, and V did, it would be an Octopus.
18. Cyn wasn't one to be impatient or throw temper tantrums like in Episode 5, that was all the Absolute Solver.
19. Cyn could have been knocked out for a few hours if you threw a big enough weighted blanket over her.
20. Cyn would host 'oil tasting parties' as a crude way of replicating the activities of her former owners.
21. Cyn's 'startup message' is not "Hello World." It is instead "Violence is the question and the answer is yes."
22. If you gagged Cyn's mouth in any way, she would use sign language to be able to communicate her actions in excessive detail, just like she does when she speaks. ("Light sip" or "Shuffle. Shuffle. Shuffle.")
23. If you gave Cyn a YouTube channel, she would market it like those "Spiderman Elsagate" videos completely unironically, but then have the content be very in-depth analyses of complex equations and theories.
24. Cyn does NOT know what sex is. She thinks humans reproduced by being delivered a child via Stork.
25. Cyn's knowledge of emojis (her last reaction in Episode 8) comes solely from what she could hijack from V's mind when she still had control, since V was texting Lizzy at some point in time.
26. Cyn sees William Afton as a role model.
27. Cyn's choice of play in GTA would be using mods to make everything fly around at high speeds and explode at random.
28. If you slapped Cyn across the face, her head would spin around on her neck until the momentum fully stopped.
29. Cyn is the kind of drone to taste-test a footprint and be able to know where somebody went.
30. A McDonald's sprite would be enough to kill Cyn.

Anyways- now onto the AUs :D
I ended up choosing the Kai in HF murder drones au(Murder…Kai?), but if you want i can tell you about the Disassembly Drone Kai au too :D
Ok, so here’s the lineup(so far):
Kai as Uzi
Max as N(Serial Designation M)
Grace as V(Serial Designation G)
Alice as J(Serial Designation A)
Lex as Doll(I forgot to mention her in the lore, but she’s a Worker drone whose family was killed by V and is now a serial killer of sorts. She is also a host of the A.S)
Deb as Tessa(one of the few humana that we see in Murder Drones. Yup. Totally a human.)
Paul as Khan(I am. So sorry. But Paul is gotta be a shitty parent in this au. I am sorry Paul)
Emma as Nori(Supposedly dead, killed by murder drones. Another host of the A.S)
Ms. Holloway as Yevana- I am not sure i spelled her name right( Pamela is not gonna be Lex’s mom in this au because Lex would probably be happy to see her mom dead. So let’s just say that she and Hannah got adopted by Duke and Holloway. Another host of the A.S)
Jason as Thad(we love Thad in this house)
Steph as Lizzy
Pete as that one guy whose head was one fire(Rest in peace)
Richie as that other guy who got killed in episode 4
Charlotte Sweetly as Alice
Ruth as Cyn
The LiB as The Absolute Solver
and also CCRP as JCjenson(in spaceeee)
Now, first i want to explain how the A.S works in thie AU:
(since we know next to nothing about the Absolute Solver, I have decided to take creative liberty. Also note that i know nothing about how programs works so all of this could be incredibly stupid)
Different Lords in Black = different types/versions of the A.S(also note: Abilities and level of control the host might have over the A.S depend on the version)
Webby(A.S.Version 1.0): You get almost all the abilities of the A.S, without having to fight for control of your body! Isn’t that great? I’m sure whatever ability that you won’t have isn’t important! Host: Ms. Holloway, Emma
Wiggly(A.S.Version 2.0): Depending on the host, level of control may vary. But over time, the host can learn to control it(or they can try to appease the wrath in hopes of gaining more control, but it won’t do much good). Oh yeah i forgot to mention. Despite how much you might try to completely control it, it can still influence you, and turns your anger or frustration or grief or anything to wrath. Yay
Host: Lex
Blinky(A.S.Version 2.5): It’s similar to wiggly, but it’s practically harmless. I mean all it wants to do is watch.
(Former) Host: M
Tinky(A.S.Version 3.0): Default version of the A.S of the murder drones. Gives you(almost) full autonomy. Version of A.S that ruth CCRP(in spaceeee) used to turn the D.D’s memories to soup.
Hosts: M, V, A
Nibbly(A.S.Version 3.2): A sub program. The reason why A.S hosts need to drink oil. Nobody knows whose idea it was to add that, but it exists.
Hosts: Literally anyone who is an A.S host
Pokotho(A.S.Version ?): Most powerful and uncontrollable version of A.S. Either you can sorta control it, or it will fully overtake you(like ruth). Only version of A.S that will give you an A.S form- which is very similar to the murder drones, though it is more organic and life-like.
Hosts: Kai, Ruth, Emma(former host)
Anyways I realize that this is getting quite long and that it is currently 1:00am here so I will continue info dumping after i get some sleep(this guy will definitely not sleep and will continue to stay awake for the rest of the night looking at the ceiling in hopes sleep comes)
DUDE THIS IS SO COOL!!! SHITTY PARENT PAUL NOOOO also yeah. get some sleep

Tumblr media
Since I've gotten off my butt to work on drafts at the time of writing this.... Here are some Canon-Divergent things I want to state about all three of my Murder Drones muses seeing as how it's been a while since the show's finale, and because frankly I am disappointed with the direction it all went in. So consider this a big ol' hearty "Fuck You!" to canon.
Below the cut because I wanna spare you all how long this is.
Tumblr media
For Uzi:
To start; she is NOT in any kind relationship with N, on account of her being disgusted by romance in general. In fact, N's "We Kinda Hang Out idk" message was to trigger her gag reflex, as well as to get Nori to do the slap that would bring her back to reality.
She's since lobbed off her tail (which contains the Solver), and keeps it in a terrarium in her, Khan and Nori's home. She is now essentially a snake owner lol. Of course, a new, non-sentient one did eventually grow back, but separating herself and the Solver (leaving it in a powerless worm form) FREAKING HURT.
To add to the above fact, following her removing and thus trapping the solver in her old and severed tail, her Solver powers have almost kind of just... been very nerfed. She can move non-solver objects around and no longer has to worry about being controlled anymore, but that's just about it. On the plus side though, she's now got a cool new railgun again! but shes pissed that she can never learn to teleport now.
Tumblr media
For V:
Despite the above info about Uzi's relationship status, V and N (@musesofthesun) are not together either. While they're very close, they both acknowledge that there has been a lot of stuff going on (from the solver's interference to both of their own poor choices), and they're both not ready to have what they used to again. But they're taking baby steps to talking and being more open with each other, so they can properly rekindle what they have both lost.
She and Lizzy have... begun talking a lot less, due to the latter deciding to focus on helping Doll (see Lizzy's section below). But they're still on good terms. They'll chat, and Lizzy will inform V of important events going on at the colony, and V is the former's go-to when disposing of students she doesn't like.
She's pretty much tamed and made a big scary puppy out of the Red Sentinel, who she has affectionately named "Sparky". She managed to win them over after defeating them in battle and killing the other sentinels, but unfortunately she's the only one they listen to.
She now has a hobby of exploring Copper 9 in search of other oil sources. Because as much as she misses slaughtering prey all the time, she knows that she can't do that anymore now that she's a part of the colony.
Tumblr media
For Lizzy:
She's pretty much gone back to living a normal life now that it's all over, nothing much else to say.
She is the only one besides Uzi who can visit Doll (@handfulofmuses) following the latter being repaired and living as a hermit now, as while she doesn't know what Doll experienced before the Solver killed her, she wants to be there for her even-more-traumatized bestie until thee latter is ready to come back to the colony... even if the chances of that are slim.
She is 12% less mean than she used to be before the series began.

i kept thinking about this and it would kind of WORK tho.
here's a good page to read Terminal Redux, since i dont think i can to it justice with a quick summary. it's basically a short story, length-wise?
and i'm amused by how much sense it makes if you just cast Tessa as Isolation Subject #5, JcJenson/EarthGov as Cygnus, and AbsoluteSolver as Alshain.
and ok i lied, i didn't spend "a bit" thinking about this, i ended up writing a whole outline for an villain!tessa fic based on this premise
so if you made this into an AU, the setup could be like Tessa's disobedience finally crossed the line for her parents. (maybe she'd tried to save Cyn from being decommissioned?) so as punishment, they enroll her in the isolation project. Iso subjects are sent alone into the depths of the galaxy, (ship autopilot functions overidden, any choice of destination forbidden), which usually drives them to madness
but Tessa crash-lands on a planet infected with the AbsoluteSolver. it infects her, integrates with her body, and it speaks to her. offering her immortality and telling her to go back to earth and seize power. and like, she's spent years isolation in the depths of space, why wouldn't she latch onto this n̷̢͎͑̏e̶͈̭̾͛̇w̷̙̩̋̂̀͜ ̶͇̐͜f̵̯̥̀́̚r̸͔̣͒͘͠ḭ̴̳͕̆̀͠ȅ̶̫̑ṅ̵̞̒ď̶͚̩͆?
Solver integration would also turns her into a badass robo-cyborg, bc i know who follows me :3 (this actually isnt even a departure from canon; the enocules inflicting body horror on iso sub 5 is literally just the text)
anyway, a lot of the character work in the songs transfers over without much change, i think, thought the context of Solver influence changes the tone of the story entirely.
one seemingly trivial worldbuilding detail is that in the album, the enocules are something stargazers have theorized about, nothing known for sure until iso sub 5 discovers them. but i think it'll be different here: JcJ isn't just vaguely aware of AbsoluteSolver, they've tried to control it and failed spectacularly. cabin fever labs and all that. it's probably top secret.
except Tessa does that they failed to do. the Solver integrated into her body, and she has influence over it. it's a power JcJ is hungry for, enough that if Tessa plays her cards right, there's no way her parents can keep her locked up.
first thing she does is use the Solver to bring Cyn back. (i kind of like the image of Tessa finally returning to her childhood room, and once again hugging Cyn, squeezing away the trauma of the isolation project and meeting the Solver and pleading her case the JcJ board). Cyn being the first drone she brings back, it's probably how she cuts her teeth and learns more about how the Solver works.
and maybe she settles on a longterm plan of using the AS to 'uplift' humanity into a a race of robo-immortals, and by maintain personal control of the Solver, she'll shape every world into a utopia. (basically what happens in the album). but to do this, the first step of her plan — and the big difference between this AU and Terminal Redux is that well, a pivotal development in that story was iso sub 5 conquering Epsilon by inflicting LCD on the population. what's the equivalent here?
Epsilon is a planet where Cygnus has always struggled for control. sound familiar? JcJenson struggles to regain control of Copper-9 after the core collapse, so Tessa and the Cyn would decide that reigning in the rogue workers would be the perfect step in her ascent to power. stabilizing their greatest mistake would prove to JcJ once and for all the indispensable utility of the Solver and cement Tessa's political influence.
so instead of Liquid Crystal Disease, Tessa designs the disassembly drones — and like this, she revives all the drones her family had decommissioned (hi J/N/V). finally, they're all united, like terminals for the grand Solver network.
anyway, maybe Tessa reopens Cabin Fever Labs with the intent of infecting worker drones and bringing them into Solver's embrace
between the disassemblers and infected worker drones, Copper-9 becomes awfully dystopian. the Solver collective would be brutal in subjugating the workers (and maybe by now, Tessa's having second thoughts about her path, but she's got the Solver whispering in her ear. with it so intimately wired into her body and that of her drones, she's utterly locked in)
now, probably Uzi et al. mount a rebellion against Tessa — maybe it's even effective resistance. all the better if it is, because if Uzi and the WDF are a threat, that's actually great for the Solver! because justifies Tessa pushing for EarthGov to give Tessa more and more power to put an end to the chaos.
basically paving the road for her to become a absolute tyrant :3
in the end, Uzi probably just loses. Tessa assimilates her and everyone else into the Solver collective. after all, the climax of the album isn't a grand battle. iso subject 5 simply wins everything, and so does tessa. but i think this setup allows for the true climax be even more impactful.
the final turning point of the album is seeing the pillars of sand falling, the natural beauty of stellar skies frozen still under tyrannical strangulation, the realization that when all the dissenting voices are quieted, all you can hear is the inevitable, ever-growing roar of entropy. every. thing. falls.
and what do you think the Solver wants to do, once it's seized total control of Copper-9?
Tumblr media
if Uzi is a part of the solver collective now, imagine what she feels, seeing her home destroyed? and through the collective, Tessa can feel it, too
i think if there's a thematic note this fic might end on, something that distinguishes it from the source material (because truth be told, i never liked the anti-immortality message of Terminal Redux), it would be a lonely bookend. the story ends where it begins.
the album was a story of the paroxysms of desire, of hunger and ambition gorged to a tipping point of metastatic, self-negating, tragedy.
if this story began with Tessa isolated in the depths of the universe, only to finally return to the comforting embrace of her favorite robot, then i think once Copper-9 is gone, Tessa would go to hug Cyn again, only to find this feels… different. through the Solver, they're so interconnected that it doesn't really feel like a hug anymore. it just feels like she's holding a part of herself.
after uniting everything with the AbsoluteSolver, Tessa doesn't feel any less alone.
maybe tessa spends a long time staring into the night sky. she recalls the image of copper-9 in pieces, then imagines every planet around every star she can see.
and, with every last dregs of independent will left, she gathers up all her robots and flies back to where it all began, bound in the metaphorical chains of a isolation project ship (autopilot functions overridden, choice of destination forbidden — so her will can't falter), intent to do to the Solver's home planet what it had done to Copper-9, ending it all in a blaze of absolving light
the brainworms are getting out of hand yall
was relistening to a scifi concept album (Vektor — Terminal Redux) and was like
what if you crossed this over with murder drones tho
