i miss my nana now >__>
#aka my great-grandma#she was a sweet woman but i didn't get very close to her until her last few years#i saw her often growing up; whenever we slept over at my grandma's house (so pretty much every school break)#we'd spend the following afternoon visiting nana#and she was genuinely very sweet but she had bad hearing and eyesight#plus my mom always went on about how crazy she was so i avoided her a lot as a kid#which was shitty and i regret it#i missed out on a lot of her life and that sucks#but at least we were closer towards the end#she was so funny ajdksk#mickey.txt#still its sucks how it took her death to fully grasp that she was a full Person yknow?#like she was always Nana to me. a tiny old woman in an easy chair#but she was a mom too. she was a kid at one point#i know she had to drop out of middle school during the great depression#and she worked as a nurse's assistant in a children's ward during ww2#and she loved drinking and dancing at country bars#but i wonder what she thought about. if she had an elaborate inner world like i do#what she wanted to be as a little kid. was she happy with the life she lived? what was her favorite animal#its strange to think that a whole world is gone now. i wish i could've had a couple more years with her#but i hope wherever she is she's having the time of her life
