Today I watched our Panther (Mountain Lion/Cougar/Puma/etc) leap right up into one of the palm trees in her enclosure right on the part they have the cover thing on to keep her from climbing all the way to the top. And then we made eye contact and she hissed/growled at me, then eventually hopped down and came to the window

#I've literally never seen her do that before #but if i had to guess #she saw her keepers pass by her exhibit on their way to somewhere else and she was excited #Alternatively she was chasing a squirrel or bird #the panther is one of the animals on the list of 'extremely dangerous animals should they escape' and frankly she seems the most capable #she's cute though i think since she was basically hand raised by our staff (because her mom did not want her)#she's very domestic cat like #she'll rub up on the window if you come up to it and she likes to chase the little brushes you use to knock down cobwebs and stuff #(note: we try to avoid having those brushes around when she's out because we don't want people getting the impression #that we're playing with her)
