Ten Months Later
It was still surreal sometimes to walk into an office with your name and Creative Lead printed on a nameplate next to your door, but after a handful of months, you were beginning to feel like less of an imposter.
Admittedly, it wasn't the type of job you had been applying for. You tried to use your experience as a production assistant to get your foot in the door with a talent agency, but you weren't having any luck. When Joel offered you the job in his marketing department, you didn't think you were qualified for it, but after discussing the duties with Caroline Harris, the creative director, you discovered your background would be well suited for the job. He must have known you would have instantly taken a liking to her because after a few more days of soul searching, you accepted the offer.
It felt strange in the beginning, and sometimes you still felt paranoid other employees were looking at you like you didn't deserve your success, but you felt confident all the hard work you did in the past several months spoke for itself.
And as it turned out, you were actually really fucking good at your job.
You left your office door cracked and set your things down on top of the chest of drawers behind your desk. Smoothing down your simple, grey dress that fell just above the knee, you sat down with a sigh in your leather chair and booted up your computer. While you waited for it to turn on, you sipped your coffee and glanced at your phone.
Zoe: Remember to call me later, I have news! I'm dating someone new!
You grinned and tapped out a quick response, promising to call before it got too late on the East Coast. Zoe never found out the truth about you and Joel, but you figured by now it didn't matter much. As far as she knew, you were still planning the "wedding", but it was just delayed until the hotel was built in Fiji, meaning you had a decent chunk of time to come up with another cover.
You saw a flash on your computer screen, indicating the monitor was up and running, so you placed your phone down to type in your password, then gasped excitedly when you were reminded of a Zoom call you had scheduled with Ellie.
Even though hiring Ellie wasn't technically your idea, Joel told Caroline it was because as he had told you at the time, he wouldn't have given her a second thought had you not been so taken with her work. So Caroline put you in charge of overseeing her progress, as well as a few other things for the new hotel.
It had been almost a month since you last spoke to Ellie and you were thrilled to get an update. The little video popped up, briefly displaying her name before she turned her camera on. You grinned from ear to ear when you finally saw her, specks of paint adorning her face and hair.
"How are you still up? Isn't it, like, three in the morning?" you asked.
"Yeah, but you know I do all my best work at night," Ellie replied before flipping the camera around so you could see her studio. There were a few drop cloths down, splashed with all sorts of colors of paint, and about six easels, all of which held paintings in different stages.
"Don't look at those yet, they aren't done," she said, and you laughed.
"You're the one in control of the camera, remember?"
"Yeah, yeah," she mumbled. You could hear her converse sneakers scuffing along the canvas drop cloth while she took you across the room. She flicked on a light and you gasped at the shock of color.
"Oh, my god!" you exclaimed.
"Man, I was feeling so inspired last week, I just couldn't stop. We had a little tropical storm blow through and it just created all these beautiful scenes. Like, beauty amongst the wreckage, you know?" Ellie was saying as she slowly walked around the room, panning the camera to each painting so you could get a good look.
"Oh, wow. Ellie... these are stunning. You've made such incredible progress, I'm so impressed!"
She finished her lap around the room and there was a pause in the video before her face returned to the screen.
"Yeah, thanks. It's going really well. You know how nervous I was in the beginning, I didn't think I would be able to make the amount of paintings you were looking for, but at this rate I think I'll have them done ahead of schedule."
"Well, I always knew you could do it. You're so talented and you see things in such a different way than everyone else. I swear, your work is going to make the hotel really stand out," you gushed before taking a long sip of coffee.
"You gotta thank Joel again for me," Ellie said, flicking off the light and heading back into the main part of her studio. "The amount of money he's paying me is keeping my bills paid so I can focus entirely on this."
"I will. I'm sure I'll see him later this afternoon. He'll be so happy to hear about all your progress."
"I'll take a few pictures and text them to you before I go to bed. That way, he can see for himself," she promised.
"That sounds perfect. Is there anything else you need? How's Dina?"
You spent the rest of your thirty minutes catching up with her about her girlfriend, laughing as she told you how Dina finally wore her down and they adopted a cat. Just as she was telling you how the cat stepped in some paint and walked across one of her paintings, she yawned.
"Go get some sleep. We'll touch base again next month but in the meantime, if anything comes up, you know how to reach me."
She gave you a little wave before ending the call and you sat back in your chair, your office filled with silence once again.
The rest of your morning was spent reviewing potential candidates for a pianist position in the hotel lobby. On one screen you had a video of a candidate playing and on the other, their resume and list of references. All of them were natives from Fiji, just like Joel had promised Glenn.
By noon, you had whittled down the candidates to your top five. You were making a little pile with your notes written on bright pink post-it's when you heard a gentle knock on your door.
"Come in," you answered distractedly.
"Hey... busy?" Liam said. You looked up and smiled before shaking your head and offering him a seat.
"Just getting some resumes ready for the pianist job. I have to set up some interviews after lunch. What's up?"
Liam sighed dramatically and collapsed into a chair.
"Your boyfriend is on a tear today, I needed a break," he said, curling his fingers into a loose fist so he could examine his cuticles.
"Why? What's going on?" you asked, setting down your pen, curiosity piqued.
"Well... first, Jack kicked his ass during his boxing lesson, which he always fucking hates," Liam said with a roll of his eyes. "Then he found out there was a delay in shipping the marble flooring, but I told him that shit's coming from Italy and it's custom!"
"He really hates when there's any delays in construction," you said, wrinkling your nose. You had seen your fair share of his outbursts over the past few months as the hotel in Fiji slowly became a reality. Joel always said, Time is money, baby. The longer this takes, the less money I make.
"Then Tommy called to tell him some wood or... something... got damaged in a storm they had down there recently, so now he's waiting on another shipment from the states."
You buried your face in your hands at that point, knowing exactly the type of mood Joel was in just one floor above you. On one hand, you were always thrilled whenever Joel and Tommy spoke after they finally hashed things out and made amends six months ago. But on the other, you would have much preferred Tommy call with an update about his wife, Maria, or TJ, their son.
"And about ten minutes ago, Chrissy spilled his coffee," Liam finished, dropping his hand to his lap and crossing his legs. "Only saving grace was she spilled it on the floor and not on him."
You cringed when you imagined how stressed out poor Chrissy must have been in that moment. She was a trooper, you had to hand it to her. She had been Joel's secretary for almost three years and every time you saw her she looked more meek and frightened than the last time.
"So, what you're saying is I should surprise him and take him out to lunch."
Liam's face broke out with a huge grin and he lightly clapped his hands.
"Would you mind? I think it would really help. He's always so much easier to handle after he sees you." He was really laying it on thick now and you knew it.
"I already agreed, you can drop it," you laughed, locking your computer and grabbing your purse.
"It's not an act," Liam said, following you out the door towards the elevator. The floor was quiet, most employees likely out to eat already. "I mean, yeah, maybe sometimes I try to flatter you into helping us out, but I'm serious. It's like you're chamomile tea on legs."
You arched an eyebrow at him when the elevator doors slid open. "Chamomile tea?"
"Is a tranquilizer dart better? Or lion tamer?"
You pursed your lips, thinking it over when you pressed the button to his floor. "Yeah. I like lion tamer."
Liam laughed and pulled out his phone to check his texts.
"This is perfect timing. He's about to wrap up a meeting and he doesn't have another one until two." Liam slid his phone back into his pocket and gave you a pleading look. "Please feel free to take your time."
"Oh, come on! He can't be that bad," you said with a hand on your hip. The doors opened up and let you out onto the executive floor, on the opposite side of the building from Joel's office, which is why it was so impressive you could hear him shouting from where you stood.
"Is the door open?" you asked quietly.
"Nope," Liam replied, giving you a look that said I told you so.
You swallowed nervously then lifted your chin with confidence as you made your way past the conference room towards his office. When Chrissy spotted you, she practically jumped out of her chair.
"Oh, my god, thank you," she whispered, her curly brown hair bouncing across her forehead with every step she took. She clasped her hands together and held them tightly against her chest.
"Don't thank me yet, I haven't done anything," you replied, but gave her a reassuring smile anyway. "Why don't you guys go to lunch? I'll take it from here."
The speed in which they tore out of the office was Olympic level.
You perched on the edge of Chrissy's desk as you waited for Joel's meeting to be over. Through the door, you could hear some voices through his phone, as well, one of which you recognized as the project manager for the hotel in Fiji. You looked down at your hands, ignoring the raised voices in the next room, and stared down at the huge diamond ring on your right hand. Splaying your fingers wide, you admired the way the light caught the little facets of the diamond, smiling a little when you saw rainbow flecks dot the walls of the mostly empty floor.
Ages ago, Joel had asked you to keep the ring he got you to use in Fiji. You nearly had a heart attack until he realized how it looked and he nervously clarified he wasn't asking you to marry him, just that he felt the ring was always yours and he couldn't bring himself to return it, so he bought it.
You smiled to yourself when you thought back on that day. It was just after he finally said I love you for the first time. It was a little ridiculous to think he would be asking you to marry him when it took him months to say those three words, but your heart still skipped a beat in that half a second of confusion.
After your pulse slowed, you accepted it with an awkward laugh, putting it on your right hand where it had remained ever since. You knew there was no use arguing with him about gifts and money anymore. When he bought you something, he was relentless until you took it.
Actually, you've grown to kind of like it.
Or, maybe you just liked the idea of Joel thinking about you when you weren't around.
Through the door, you heard the phone call cut with a terse farewell and then, the tell-tale rustle of men's dress pants with the clearing of throats. One man was still talking, his voice forcibly calm as he assured Joel that he would get back to him by the end of the day with the correct numbers on some payroll report, and then the door swung open. Men poured out, some hurrying past you without even realizing you were there, their faces red and their jaws clenched. The ones that did notice you gave a quick nod of acknowledgement before hurrying away, as if they were afraid Joel would remember he had one or two more biting comments and call them back in.
When the last of the men filed out, you heard Joel bark, "Shut the door," and then the creak of his leather chair under his weight. A man you vaguely recognized pulled the door shut behind him before spotting you. He was frazzled and exhausted when he exhaled and loosened his tie.
"Good luck," he said, and you laughed softly. You watched as the last of the men filed towards the elevators, their padfolios and phones overflowing in their hands as they shuffled onto the car and disappeared behind the closed doors.
The floor was quiet now. Joel's office was the only one with a light on.
Biting back a smirk, you pushed off Chrissy's desk and straightened your dress before rapping your knuckles on his door.
"What the fuck now?" came Joel's sharp voice from the other side. You pushed the door open and crossed your arms, waiting until he dragged his gaze up from his desk. When he realized it was you, his expression instantly softened and he stood.
"Sorry," he grumbled.
"It's okay," you replied, stepping inside the room, shutting the door behind you. Joel rounded the desk and raked his fingers through his hair. You bit your lower lip, gaze quickly drifting down his broad frame. He was wearing a white dress shirt with his dark grey suit, the coat abandoned over the back of his chair. It was the first time you had seen him since you left him asleep in bed early that morning.
"What's goin' on, baby?" he asked as he crossed the room to pour himself a drink. You made a face at the amber liquid and he swiveled around, raising the glass of whiskey in your direction.
"Want one?"
"No, Joel. It's barely noon. I came to see if you wanted to get lunch, but I'm guessing today's not the best day," you said, closing the distance between you to smooth down the front of his shirt with your palms. He lifted the glass to his lips and tossed the drink back in one go before setting it down on the bar and wrapping his big hands around yours, pressing them firmly to his chest.
"'M sorry, not havin' a great day."
"I can tell."
"You hear all that?" he murmured, bringing one of your hands up to his mouth. His lips brushed over your knuckles as he gazed at you through tired, heavy eyes and you smiled. Moments ago, those eyes were firey and filled with rage.
But not when he looked at you.
"Some of it," you admitted. "What's wrong?"
Joel exhaled through his nose and dropped his hands to your hips, giving them a little squeeze and pulling you closer. "You weren't there when I woke up this mornin'."
You rolled your eyes playfully at him and he gently pinched your side.
"I told you I had to get up early so I could get ready for work-"
"'N I told you to bring your stuff over last night," he countered.
"Joel, I hadn't been home in days. I needed to make sure the place was still standing and water my plants."
Then, he said something that sent shockwaves through your whole body.
"Just move in with me, then it ain't a problem anymore."
Your eyebrows shot up in surprise and you forgot to breathe for a moment.
"What?" you asked breathlessly. But Joel just shrugged like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Move in with me," he repeated. "Plants, too."
"Y-you... you want me to move in with you? Like, permanently?" you repeated in disbelief. Joel smirked down at you and nodded.
"Yeah, like, permanently. The hell you think I mean? Get rid of that place, you know I don't like that neighborhood," he said, then lifted his chin when he heard his email program chime somewhere behind you.
"Joel... are you sure? That's a big step for you," you replied, feeling completely knocked sideways by his blunt request. Sure, he had the room. His house was the closest you'd ever come to being inside a mansion. Hell, to you it was a mansion. Six bedrooms and four bathrooms with an in-ground pool, tennis court, steam room and gym was only ever something you'd seen on television. But living in Los Angeles told you there were plenty of houses three times the size of his.
"Yeah, I'm sure. I want you with me all the time," he said, kissing your cheek before leaving you by the bar so he could check his email.
"My stuff, too? I can't imagine my shitty television in your house," you joked. Joel just nodded, his eyes pinned to his computer screen.
"Your stuff, too. I want all a'you. Even your coffee pot."
Joel collapsed angrily into his high back chair to answer the email while you sneakily slid back to the door, quietly flicking the lock before slowly walking towards his desk. You knew most people were at lunch, but you still didn't want to risk it for what you had in mind.
"Okay," you said softly, hip pressing against the hard wood, fingers nervously digging into the complex design carved into the edge.
"Okay, what?" he murmured, focus still fixed on the email. You watched his scowl deepen the more he read and you knew he was slipping back into that mood you found him in earlier.
"Okay... I'll move in with you."
His eyes snapped up to yours and for a moment, the scowl smoothed out into a pleased grin.
"Good. Start packin' tonight. Don't wanna be wakin' up anymore without you," he said, then his eyes dropped back down to his email. "Messes up my whole day when I do."
You giggled and rounded the desk, intentionally slotting yourself between his eyes and the computer.
"Is that why you're up here screaming at everyone? 'Cause you woke up without your sugar baby?"
Joel leaned back in his chair and narrowed his eyes at you.
"Quit it. You ain't a sugar baby."
"Didn't answer my question."
Joel laced his fingers together and dropped them in his lap with a sigh. "Sure didn't help."
You gave him a fake pout and leaned forward, hands bracing yourself on each arm of his chair. "I'm so sorry," you whispered, mouth hovering over his as you spoke. You could see his muscles tighten under his shirt when he heard the seductive tone in your voice. "Want me to suck your dick and make it all better?"
The corner of his mouth tugged into a devilish half-smirk, email long forgotten.
"Feels like it's the least you could do," he replied, his voice deep and gravelly. It sent a shiver down your spine and you grinned.
"The least I could do? What else do you want?" you asked before allowing your lips to brush delicately over his. You could taste the whiskey there and you licked your lips.
"Wanna bend you over this desk and fuck you. Hard."
A soft moan slipped past your lips right before his mouth crashed into yours. His tongue opened your mouth, licking feverishly past your teeth, giving you a stronger taste of the whiskey and mint from the gum he was likely chewing in anger during the meeting.
"I think that can be arranged," you gasped when you pulled away from his kiss. His dark eyes lit up when you sunk to your knees, his legs spreading wider when you began to unbuckle his belt. Two fingers rubbed against his lips, hiding his smile while he watched you pop the button on his slacks and slowly work the zipper down.
Your heart was beating wildly in your chest when you dipped your fingers past his waistband and felt the stiffness of his cock hiding just underneath a thin layer of fabric. Your eyes flickered up to meet his and with a sly smile, you said, "Hard already?"
Joel shrugged with a shit-eating grin.
"Been hard since you walked in the goddamn room, baby."
You bit back a smile, chest bursting with pride and, yeah, it turned you on to be the one who made this big, scary man all soft and weak. Rubbing your thighs together, you inched forward to gently pull his stiff cock over the top of his underwear.
You tutted under your breath and frowned, both of you watching your hand slowly slide up and down his shaft.
"Poor thing," you murmured, smiling when you heard his breath stutter after your thumb swiped over the bead of arousal pooling at the tip. "Look at you. All worked up and angry the whole morning when all you needed to do was call me. I would've come up to help you."
Joel gasped, fingernails digging into the padded leather armrests when he felt your fingers tighten around him.
"Then fuckin'... goddamnit - fuckin' help me now. C'mon, quit teasin' me and suck it," he commanded through clenched teeth.
You raised an eyebrow at him and your hand paused.
"Say please."
"Please," he whined without hesitation. The sound made you weak, eyelids fluttering for a second before you shook it off and met his gaze again.
"Good boy."
He smirked down at you, some snappy response on the tip of his tongue but it disappeared when your wet lips wrapped around him, tongue darting forward to flick teasingly at his slit, all while maintaining eye contact.
"Oh, fuck," he groaned, allowing his eyes to close and his head to tip back when you took him deeper into your mouth. Before he reached the back of your throat, you swirled your tongue around his girth, moaning when you tasted a new drop of precum.
"Yeah, baby, just like that," he murmured when his hand found a new home on the back of your head. Carefully, he urged you down, hissing when you hollowed your cheeks and took him as deep as you could handle. Joel forced his eyes to open so he could admire the pretty little mess he made of you. Your lips were swollen and wet, stretched wide over his considerable length while you focused on keeping your breath steady and your gag reflex in check.
He could have came from the sight alone.
You pulled back with a gasp, saliva pooling around the corners of your mouth as you dragged in deep lungfuls of air. Your hand picked up where your mouth left off, twisting your wrist and spreading the wetness up and down his shaft as you caught your breath for a second.
"You taste so good, Joel," you whispered, locking eyes with him again. "Might just have you come down my throat, instead."
Before he could answer, your lips were wrapped around him again, sucking and moaning around his cock like it was the sweetest thing in the world.
"No," he rasped, fingers tightening their hold in your hair. "Wanna - fuck you," he added with a deep groan. Even though he knew he shouldn't, he let you keep going, his hips involuntarily bucking up towards your mouth as he spoke.
Right when you began to get carried away, your head bobbing faster and your wrist flicking quicker, he yanked you off with a shared gasp.
"Sorry," he apologized, squeezing his eyes shut for a moment before reopening them. "Too close."
You stood up, thumb swiping your lower lip with a cocky grin. Then, Joel watched as you shimmied out of your panties, dropping them in his lap before hiking up the skirt of your dress to your mid-thigh.
"Whenever you're ready, sir."
He chuckled darkly and stood, thighs trembling for just a quick moment before he swiveled a finger in the air.
"Turn 'round."
You did as you were told, palms pressed flat against the top of his desk, tilting your hips back so your ass jutted out, just barely covered by your dress.
With one hand he pulled the material up, exposing you to the tinted windows behind him. His other hand came down with a sharp smack across your skin, the action so fast and unexpected that it took you a few seconds to register it.
"Again," you whispered over your shoulder, this time bracing for the hot sting of pain across your ass. When he gave it to you, you moaned, arousal pulling tight between your legs, then you dropped your head limply between your shoulders as the pain blossomed into pleasure.
"That's my girl," he growled in your ear. His knee pushed your legs open and you held your breath when he leaned back to slide his cock through your folds before lining himself up at your opening.
"Breathe, baby," he whispered, and you let out a shaky breath right as he pushed inside.
"Shit," you panted, arching your back and digging your fingers into the dark wood of his desk while he continued to ease inside of you, muscles only relaxing when he finally buried himself to the hilt and his lips returned to the shell of your ear.
It wasn't the first time he fucked you in his office. In fact, both of you were very eager to take advantage of the new situation only a week into the start of your job. But it didn't matter how many times you'd done it because it was still always a thrill. There was something incredibly hot about this powerful man fucking you on his desk. Or his couch. Or his chair.
Or one time on the conference room table long after close of business.
Joel set a quick pace right away, knowing full well your time was limited before people began to return from lunch and inevitably came looking for him. One hand remained firmly on your hip while the other drifted up to squeeze your breast through your dress, fingers giving your nipple a little pinch just so he could hear you whimper for him.
"Always ready for me, ain't you?" he groaned, teeth grazing over your earlobe. His breath was shallow, soft pants against your skin matching the rhythm of his hips. "Christ, baby. So fuckin' wet. You love takin' my cock like this, huh? Or was it me askin' you to move in that did it?"
"Both," you moaned, tossing your head back to rest on his shoulder, eyes gliding shut and mouth falling open as you focused on the intense pace he set. The tip of his cock brushed steadily against that spot inside you that had your knees going weak and you could feel that warmth in your stomach turning into fire the harder he fucked you.
Joel's eyes lifted to glance at his door when he heard the faint sound of voices filing off the elevator. Lunch hour was wrapping up, and so was your time. He clenched his jaw and pounded into you faster, the telltale sound of skin slapping against skin the only noise echoing in the room.
"I... locked it," you gasped, falling forward onto your elbows, hips sparking with pain against the hard wood of his desk. He grinned and straightened his spine, watching the way your ass rippled against him every time he slammed into you.
"Good. 'Cause no one gets to see you like this 'cept for me."
You nodded dumbly, unable to form words as your orgasm began to swell, threatening to destroy you. Your pussy started to pulse around him, stars littering your vision and you slapped your palm over your mouth to muffle the sound when you came.
"Oh, fuck yeah," he groaned, hips losing rhythm. Breath growing sharp. Fingers digging deep and eyes rolling to the back of his head. You whimpered when he pounded into you one last time, stilling as he pumped you full of his release, broken moans tumbling from his lips until he was spent.
Almost immediately, his arms wrapped around you, pulling you up and pressing you protectively against his chest.
"You okay?"
"Mhm," you hummed, admittedly still in a bit of a daze but you were starting to snap out of it. His ragged breath in your ear was all you could hear, his pounding heart against your back all you could feel, and it was enough.
Without warning, he slipped out of you, but kept his arms circled around your front, pressing sweet kisses behind your ear and down your neck. You melted into him, knowing how much he enjoyed holding you after, at least until he caught his breath and came back down to earth.
"I love you."
Those three words still managed to send a tingle down your spine and brought a lazy smile to your face.
"I love you, too," you whispered, twisting your neck so your mouth could seek out his. His beard was untamed and prickly against your lips, tickling you and making you giggle.
"C'mon, get yourself decent," he teased with a playful grin and a smack against your thigh. He stepped backwards to fix his clothes while you swiveled back and forth, searching the ground for your panties.
"Lookin' for these?" he asked, holding them up between two fingers when you turned around. You reached out to grab them but he pulled them back, shoving them in his pocket before tucking in his shirt.
"You're gonna make me walk around the rest of the day without underwear? With your come dripping out of me?" you asked. You already resigned yourself to your fate and pulled down the skirt of your dress.
Joel pinched your chin and pressed a quick kiss against your lips.
"Yep. Just the way I like you."
"Dirty man."
"Just the way you like me," he laughed, dodging your hand when you reached out to smack him against the arm.
You opened your mouth to say something back when his desk phone chimed and the red light in the corner lit up. Joel finished buckling his belt and glanced up at you to make sure you had fixed yourself before pressing the intercom button.
"Yeah?"
Chrissy's nervous voice filtered through the speaker.
"Mr. Miller, just confirming your dinner reservation for tonight. Still expecting three people?"
"Yep," he replied, then thought about it for a quick second before pressing the button again. "Thanks, Chrissy. Why don't you take off early, after my two o'clock?"
You grinned, practically sensing her shock through the wall as you sat down in the chair opposite his desk.
"Uh... okay. T-thank you so much!"
"No problem," he said, then the red light turned off and he slumped down tiredly into his leather desk chair.
"Where are we going tonight?" you asked, crossing one leg over the other while you watched him shake his computer mouse back to life.
"Sarah picked this time. Some Mexican spot she wanted to try," he murmured, already fixating on an email in front of him. After some encouragement on your end, Joel had reached out to Sarah around the same time he called Tommy for the first time in years. While things had been rocky and awkward at first, it got easier over time. Eventually, they committed to dinners every other week, and after maybe the fourth one, Sarah had asked to meet you.
You were nervous leading up to it, but the moment you met you knew you'd get along. She was smart, beautiful, funny and had the same smile as her dad. She told you both a little bit about high school but preferred to talk about her soccer team or the play she was trying out for.
She didn't mention her mom much, and you didn't want to pry. From what Joel had mentioned, her mother ended up having some substance abuse issues in the past, which caused a strain on her relationship with Sarah. He felt horrible when he found out, told you that he felt like he should have been involved more to protect her, but you reminded him that he was there for her now and that you were proud of him for stepping up.
Despite it all, Sarah was a great kid. Every time you saw her, she opened up a bit more, smiled wider and laughed louder. After your dinners together, you could see the change in Joel: he was happier, too.
"Sounds good. I like Mexican," you said, fidgeting with your ring while Joel quietly replied to an email. The scowl was gone, his shoulders were looser and there were no more angry taps on the keyboard.
You opened your mouth to announce you should get back to work when he suddenly spoke.
"Why're you wearin' the ring on your right hand?"
Your eyes flickered up to his face but he looked like he was still absorbed in an email.
"This ring?" you asked, holding up your hand. It was the only ring you wore but you didn't know what else to say. You'd been wearing it on your right hand for months and he never said a word.
"Yeah. You wore it on your other hand in Fiji," he said, tearing his eyes away from the computer to look at you.
You stood up from your seat and gave him a curious look. "We were pretending to be engaged then, if you recall. We're not engaged now."
Joel smirked, the corners of his mouth dipping down when he shrugged, then stood to walk you to the door.
"Huh. Suppose you're right. Someone oughta do somethin' 'bout that."
You threw your head back and laughed before coming to a stop at his door and turning around.
"You just asked me to move in with you. What happened to the commitment-phobe I fell in love with?"
He grinned and wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close so he could press a gentle kiss against your lips.
"You're right. I'll wait a week," he joked, then gave your ass a little tap before opening his door for you. "Thanks for lunch," he added as you walked past Chrissy, who was mid-whisper to Liam, no doubt telling him about Joel's sudden burst of generosity. You gave them both a little wave and tossed a wink over your shoulder at Joel leaning against his doorway, hands shoved in his pants pockets with a sly smirk on his face after his fingertips grazed the wet fabric shoved in there.
"See you tonight."
"Can't wait," he said, watching you disappear around the corner towards the elevator bank.
"So, you ate?" Liam confirmed, holding a leather bound journal and pen in his hand as he approached Joel. Even though the answer was no, he still nodded in response. "Good, because I have a couple things," he continued after clearing his throat. "Ellie's painting arrived yesterday, I'm having it gift wrapped right now. I got a call back from the guy who's renting you the yacht. He's good for Saturday. The captain and crew know the deal, too. Drop the anchor, make the food, pour the champagne, and disappear after dinner's cleared up. They have a little boat they can take back to land so the yacht's all yours til morning."
A slow smile stretched across his face and he looked down the hall again, towards the elevator bank.
"Reschedule it for next week. I made a promise."

when your cousin asks you to be her substitute at SVT Inc. as she takes her maternity leave, you’re pretty sure this wasn’t what you signed up for.
series masterlist
“Have you been to Japan before?” Mingyu asks from beside you, making you turn from the window.
“Twice, I think?” you answer distractedly. ‘Never in a business class, though,’ you want to add, but you keep that bit to yourself. You feel like this is such a waste of money, because the flight to Japan doesn’t even last that long, and you know Mingyu would’ve bought first class if not for the fact that this particular trip doesn’t have one. But between Mingyu’s wealth and his selfishly long legs, it makes sense that the boss is used to this class.
You just didn’t expect you’d be sharing it with him.
“Who do you leave Gyuri with?” you ask at last, having been curious about it since earlier. It’s not like you think she’d come with you, this is a business trip, after all, but you can’t help but wonder who she’s staying with at times like this.
“My parents in Jeju,” he answers, an amused smile on his face. “She’s upset because, apparently, we’re going on a trip without her.”
You laugh as the picture of Gyuri with her frown and squishy arms crossed in front of her chest pops into your mind. “She knows I’m with you?”
“Yeah. Said I’m stealing Daisy from her,” he gives you his million-dollar grin, with canine out and all that. You feel your heartbeat halting for a second, and you look away from embarrassment because, God, you can’t afford falling harder for this man. Literally can’t.
This is a man with wealth going through his blood. Whether or not his family is accepting, it’s not going to be easy to fit into that life. It doesn’t matter that Mingyu rarely flaunts his money, even you notice neither Mingyu or Gyuri is dressed with luxury brands from head to toe. It’s always a subtle touch here and there that reminds you this guy is out of your reach; the different Rolexes hidden under his long sleeve that adore his wrist accordingly to his suit of the day, the new Audi he’s brought to the office because it’s the latest model and he thinks is very pretty, the overpriced lunch he’d have you and Seungkwan eat with him from time to time, the Cartier earrings you’ve seen Gyuri wear at times, and the list goes on.
They’d all remind you that Mingyu’s just… different.
And then there’s Gyuri. Jisoo’s words ring in your mind, reminding you that making commitment with Mingyu means you’d also be making commitment with Gyuri. You’ve always known that’s the case—aware of it since you’ve found out Mingyu has Gyuri in his life. Even if you somehow magically manage to date Kim Mingyu, it’s never going to be casual because Gyuri is already aware of your existence. From the get-go, you’d have take the risk of being with Mingyu and Gyuri. But what if you break up? How would Gyuri understand that?
“When are we meeting the representative from MT Enterprise?” he suddenly asks, his leg crossing over the other.
At his question, you immediately slip back to your work persona, leaving behind the giddy build up in your chest. “Two hours after we land, Sir. It’s going to be in the meeting room in the hotel we’re staying at.”
“So do we have two hours off or…?”
“Yes, Sir. Jennie arranged the flight as such so you’d have a brief rest before the meeting.”
Mingyu hums at that, not giving you any further explanation. So you turn again to take a look at the window, trying your best to simmer down the bubbling feeling inside your chest the longer you stare at Mingyu. You’ve been trying to convince yourself that whatever feeling you have for Mingyu isn’t appropriate, that you should try to tame it down before it spreads too far.
“Are you okay?” Mingyu asks out of nowhere. Of coursehe has to be considerate. At your confused eyes, he continues. “You’ve… been sighing a lot.”
“Just… stuff,” you answer vaguely, shrugging to yourself. “It’s probably nearing that time of the month. My mood is a mess.”
This answer seems to suffice, as Mingyu simply lets out an ‘ah, I see’ as an answer. But then he just has to add more and make butterflies fly in your stomach. “You know you can talk to me if anything’s bothering you, right? Jennie would vent to me too sometimes, I’d say I make a pretty good listener.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” you reply, though deep down you know you’d never confide Mingyu in—especially regarding your unprompted feeling towards the man himself.
You tell yourself to keep it together. Yet when Mingyu shifts closer and leans down a little so he can comfortably talk to you, you find yourself mirroring his stance: your arm brushing his on the small table between the two of you, your amused grin matches his as he talks about Gyuri and her adorable ways into people’s hearts.
There’s something warm in your chest that you can’t quite describe at the way Mingyu shakes his head with a fond smile when he tells you about a particular episode of Gyuri and Seungcheol together, but you know for sure Gyuri isn’t the only reason you’re grinning from ear to ear, cheeks hurting from smiling too hard.
Damned butterflies.
You’ve been staring at your phone for 5 minutes straight, as if not sure what the words glaring at you mean.
[12:11] SVT Kim Mingyu: meet me at the lobby at 12.30
What… could he possibly need from you that he wants to see you before the meeting starts? Shouldn’t he rest knowing there wouldn’t be much time for him to do so after this? There are countless scenarios running through your mind, one of them includes Mingyu taking you out on a date before the meeting starts later at 2PM. You quickly shake the thought away, your face getting warm from embarrassment.
How dare you imagine such a thing about your boss? You literally work for him. Just because he’s handsome, smart, considerate, very good with his kid, and—what the fuck. No. You’re not going down that road.
Mingyu probably has something important to discuss regarding the meeting or the whole business trip.
Yeah. That must be it.
That isn’t it and somehow you end up in a sushi restaurant that would probably cost half your salary for eating pieces of fish. It is a very beautiful place though, with a zen garden at the back of the traditional building; kois filling the stone pond and bonsai trees adorning the place.
This is just a set straight out of a romantic drama.
“I often come here when I have business meetings in Tokyo,” he tells you, giving back the menu to the waiter after you say you’ll just have whatever he’s having. You see him smile politely when the waiter comes back to ask about something that you can’t quite understand—they are speaking Japanese after all. What can’t Mingyu do, really?
Mingyu looks handsome as always, and today’s touch of the designer brand on his body is the Gucci sneakers he’s wearing and a semi-formal suit of the same brand on top of his plain shirt. You don’t believe you’ve ever met someone as handsome as Kim Mingyu. (Maybe his friend Jeon Wonwoo, but that’s another story.)
“It’s very beautiful,” you smile as your eyes wander around the place. The place has an accent of modernity despite its traditional theme, a very fitting design for such luxurious restaurant. “How did you find this place?”
“Oh, a close senior from university owns the place.” It’s things like this that would slap you in the face; that Mingyu lives in that world. You remember thinking the design and architecture alone of this place must’ve cost at least a couple hundred million won. You can only imagine how expensive it actually is. “I was just going to check it out at first, send my congratulations and all that, you know? But I was also craving sushi so I figured might as well try it out.”
You settle for an ‘oh’, not really knowing how to comment on that. Thankfully, the food comes not long after, saving you from falling deeper into the pit of your mind. Mingyu, ever the gentleman, places the food on your plate first, excitedly telling you about how they’re his favorite and he’s sure you’re going to love it if you share his taste.
“Wow,” the word comes automatically after you swallow the first bite, your wide eyes meeting his. “It is very good. Probably one of the best sushi I’ve ever tasted.”
Mingyu grins in victory, happy that you’re impressed to this extent. “See? What did I tell you!”
The meal continues peacefully after that, with you and Mingyu talking over lunch like it’s the most natural thing to do between the two of you. You find out quite a few things during this; how he usually comes in late during Monday and Wednesday because he promises to drop Gyuri off the daycare during those time, and how he had initially refused to leave Gyuri in the daycare because there’s Jooyeon to take care of her.
He was too worried about people finding out about her, but his parents managed to convince him that Gyuri needs to spend time with kids her age even only for a few hours. As far as the people in the daycare is concerned, Jooyeon is her guardian and her parents never appear though Gyuri doesn’t show any sign of being deprived of love. Mingyu would usually just stay in the car before he lets Jooyeon leave with Gyuri.
The teachers are a bit confused, because Jooyeon actually waits within the facility as she patiently watches Gyuri play with the other kids. Why is Gyuri even in the daycare if her guardian has the time to wait around for a few hours before eventually taking her home? But they figure it’s not their place to ask and, perhaps, it’s just her family’s way of making sure Gyuri has things to do and friends to play with.
You try to backtrack and remember if there’s ever been a time where it’s just the two of you having meals together; but except for the few times Mingyu insisted you to eat in his office because he ‘doesn’t want to eat alone’ and Seungkwan is already out for lunch before you can ask him to join you, you can’t really think of any other instances when it’s happened.
So how come this feels so very… normal? Almost like it’s a—No. This is not a date. Mingyu is just being generous and he would’ve done this to Seungkwan too had it been him in your place. You need to stop overanalyzing everything he does and, most importantly, you need to stop the butterflies in your stomach everytime Mingyu does literally anything. He’s just the kinda person who does this to anyone and this isn’t a gesture out of affection and—
“Are you feeling better?” his husky voice cuts through your thoughts, his concerned eyes looking for any kind of discomfort on your face. “I noticed you seemed a bit down so I thought bringing you here might help.”
Fuck Kim Mingyu.
“How’s Tokyo?” Jennie says from the other line, her puffy cheeks fulfilling your screen.
It’s somewhere at 6 in the evening and you’re done for the day. After the meeting with MT Enterprise, Mingyu has told you you’re free to do whatever you want for the night; whether you want to rest or to roam around, you have the night off. Of course he has to remind you he’s just a text away if you ever want a guide or a friend to accompany you wandering through the busy city.
You’ve just awkwardly smiled and thanked him, though deep down you know you’d never ask him for it because you need to rest your delusional mind regarding… whatever it is between you and Mingyu.
“Good. Today isn’t really busy, but tomorrow will be and you know that because you literally arranged this trip,” you answer with content sigh, burying yourself into the fluffy comforter of the hotel bed.
Gosh, you would’ve slept all day if you could. This is possibly the softest surface you’ve ever laid yourself on, which doesn’t surprise you because you’re literally staying in Triple W Hotel’s (whose owner is the Jeons, it turns out) Tokyo branch and it’s the exact material you found yourself waking up on two months ago in its Seoul counterpart. You shake the memory away once again, distracting yourself by telling Jennie about the beautiful sushi house you visited earlier.
“Oh? The one owned by Mr. Yoon?” she asks, remembering the few times she shared a meal with Mingyu there when he had meetings in Japan.
“I… have no idea,” you genuinely say. “Mingyu just said his senior owns the place.”
“Mingyu, huh.”
Uh oh. There it is.
You just knew Jennie has been suspicious. If there’s anyone who’d catch on unprompted, it is Kim Jennie. Ever since that random video call, you knew something is caught in her radar and it’s driving you insane that she’s never talked about it the few times you come visit her or talk on the phone.
“Umm… Mr. Kim?” you lamely say.
Jennie doesn’t even say anything, simply stares at you through the screen with her pointed look. When you play dumb and simply stare back at her, she sighs and finally tells you to spill.
“There’s… nothing to spill,” you shrug, not sure yourself why you’re reluctant to tell her. Maybe you’re just prolonging your denial, taking your sweet time until you eventually have to tell her, well, everything. “What do you want me to say?”
Jennie huffs before she takes the bait, simply mentioning Mingyu’s name without adding much to it.
“He’s… Fuck, Jen, I know I shouldn’t have these feelings for him, okay?” You blurt out first, already defensive even though Jennie has never implied anything that might seem like she’s against the whole thing. “I know it’s messed up. He’s my boss, and he has a child, and he’s everything that I’m not but—"
“Woah, woah, woah,” she stops your rambling, and you can see her trying to sit up, heaving a little because of her belly. “That is not where we’re going down. Breathe, okay?”
You nod and follow her suit, leaning back on the headrest of the bed as you inhale and exhale.
“First of all, Mingyu will be lucky to have you,” she says sternly, already catching a glimpse of your insecurity. “Second of all, how did this happen?”
You take a deep breath before telling Jennie everything, including the fact that you ended up sleeping with the guy before you started working under him. You tell her about the butterflies in your stomach everytime Mingyu smiles, the way your neck gets warm when he’s looking at you like you’re the only person that matters, the way your heart beats a little louder when Mingyu talks about how much Gyuri misses you and wishes to see you again.
When you’re done telling her practically everything, you’re almost close to tears because you’re freaking out over how much you actually like Mingyu.
How did it come to this? When did your feeling spiral this deep for Kim Mingyu? It’s been two months. You barely even saw him smile in the first one. Surely that’s not enough time to fall into someone as much as you’re feeling right now?
“No, it’s not too fast,” Jennie intervenes as if she knows what goes inside your head. “Yes, it might be overwhelming. But your feelings know no concept of time, okay? And you’re adults who know better than to rush into a relationship despite your feelings. Don’t feel bad about it, you hear me?”
You want to nod and agree with her, but you simply gulp hardly at the hard realization of how much you’re into this man. You don’t even realize you’ve been falling for him, as you’ve convinced yourself it was just a crush—because, duh, anyone with eyes has a crush on Kim Mingyu—that would go away as fast as it comes.
But no, he just has to be so charming and he just has to have the most adorable daughter you’ve ever laid your eyes on. You don’t even like kids that much, but Gyuri has made her way into your heart even quicker than Mingyu does. You can still vividly feel her falling asleep on you and the warmth in your chest when her little fingers grip the front of your shirt along with the faint scent of Mingyu’s cologne as he comes closer to take her from you.
“Hey, it’s fine,” Jennie calms you down, well aware of your tendency to fall down the never-ending pit that is your mind. “You don’t have to figure everything out now. There’s time, yeah? Go at your own pace. Remember, how real your feeling is doesn’t have anything to do with the time you know him. You are not overreacting and you’re going to stop overthinking about this whole thing.”
This time, you nod, though a bit hesitant. Jennie’s right, as she always is. There is time and you don’t need to figure everything out right now. Who knows if you’ll get to know him more and he has some questionable qualities that would turn you off?
“You don’t have to deny your feelings, alright?” she says gently, her tone reminding you of the time she’d comfort you over stupid exes during high school. “It’s been so long since you’re interested in someone, too. There’s no loss in… accepting it. You know I don’t like to meddle with this kind of things but… Mingyu’s a good guy. It’s not... going to be easy if you decide to go for it, but I don’t want you to think down of yourself because of this. If you have it in you, then I’d rather you accept it than try to find a way out. Who knows what can grow out of it?”
You stay silent at her words, trying your best to register what she’s telling you. You know she’s right; life has been too busy that you don’t have it in you to even be interested in a romantic relationship. Of course the moment you find yourself interested, it’s going to be someone you deem out of your league like Kim Mingyu.
“Also, I’ve known Mingyu for years now. I know what he’s like and it’s something that he lets you this much into his life in the span of months,” she tries to reassure you. To others, this might seem like she’s giving you hope, but you know Jennie never says anything without any solid ground. “You know him for two months and you already speak to Gyuri for how many times, now? Mingyu doesn’t even let people know about her, but here you are.”
Jennie continues her attempt to make you see things straight, even tells you about that time three years ago when she called you crying because her boss was missing. That was the day Gyuri was born, it turns out, and, even then, Mingyu had been reluctant to tell Jennie about it at first but he needed to trust her because he knew he’d need more than her help.
“That’s why I worked overtime almost everyday. I promised myself I’d help him as best as I could after I found out,” she softly explains. “He… he tried so hard to protect her from day one, to be there for this little baby even though he had no idea how to take care of her. I heard he even refused Jooyeon and his parents’ help at first, until he eventually gave in because the protective wall finally wore off. That’s how much he cares about Gyuri. And for him to let you into—not only his but also—her life to this extend, it says more than you thought it does.”
You want to believe Jennie, you really do, but it’s just… hard to accept that Mingyu might be interested in you that way. On another note, you know the bubbling feelings in your chest have been making you more happy than it does upset you. And as much as you want to keep denying the way you’re embarrassingly freefalling for this guy, you can’t deny the spark between you and him… and even Gyuri. You’ve never felt quite as warm being with someone, and while the time you’ve spent with Mingyu and Gyuri isn’t exactly enough to be able to tell if you’re really invested in them, the amount of giddy smile and happiness the two bring to you are beyond question.
“I love you,” your cousin calls you again. “Don’t be too hard on yourself. Consider what I say, alright?”
“Love you too, Jen,” you softly reply, thankful that she decides to confront you about your feelings. Who knows how long you’ll keep it all to yourself until you combust if not for her? “Thank you always. Say hi to Jaebum for me.”
You throw yourself back to the bed once she hangs up, rubbing your face as if it will help you think more clearly.
What are you supposed to do, really?

"Good morning!" Your favorite voice spoke and you turned to greet it with a huge smile on your face. It was Steve's voice.
"Good Morning Steve, how are you?" you asked as he wraps you in a warm hug which you wanted it to last forever.
"i'm great by the way, and you look gorgeous by the way!" He says and you blush, and he smiles back at you, you and him are way too stubborn to accept the fact that both of you are in love with each other.
"and you look good too, like always." You said and now it was his time to blush, you chuckled and he laughed hugging you again.
"and if you both don't kiss then i'm gonna die!!!" Tony annoyingly says looking at both of you, which results in you both pulling away and looking at him.
"what're you doing here? Weren't you supposed to be at work, when i asked you for the run?" Steve asked and Tony looks like he's been caught, which he was.
"I'll be back you two, i have some work with Nat, and Steve make sure to give a good lecture to Tony for lying!" You said and he chuckled while Tony rolled his eyes.
"Oh that i will!" He says and you smile at him, as you walk upstairs to the office where Nat called you.
You walked in and looked at Nat, who was annoyed with all the paperwork in front of her, and by that look, you knew she needed coffee, so that's what you did, brought coffee for both of you.
"Good Morning!" You said and she rolled her eyes.
"Bad Morning, Y/n, i hate this!" She said and you handed her the coffee.
"not anymore." You said and she nods
"Right, cuz you got coffee, finally!" She says and you nod. You both get to work for hours, until Steve called you on your phone.
"Sorry, i have to take this, its Steve." You said and she shoots a smirk to you, and you playfully roll your eyes.
"Hey!"
"Hey Y/n, what're you doing?"
"I was just working with Nat, and what about you?"
"Well, i am waiting for you to say Yes, so we both could go and have lunch together, and that would be tacos." He said and you smile
"Alright, we'll have lunch together."
"Come downstairs now! Its your lunch time!" He said and you smiled at how much he took care of you. You when got into work, keep forgetting to eat but he's there for you to always remind you.
"Alright, i'm coming." You said and end the conversation.
"so steve hmm?" Nat says and you roll your eyes.
"We're just friends, Nat." You said and she scoffs
"Oh sure, i'm gonna take that, you blush when you talk to him, Y/n you're so in love!!." Sarcasm evident in that reply.
"Fine i do love him,But he doesn't!" You confessed and looked down.
"we'll talk about that later, y/n, your date is waiting!" She joked
"He's not my date and Alright, see you after lunch." You said and walkwd downstairs.
Just right then, Tony calls Nat.
"What do you want?" Nat answers the call and Tony laughs.
"Y/n and Steve really need to get together, it's important!!"
"Yes okay, and what do you want me to do?"
"I'm throwing a party, push them onto eachother!!"
"I think i can do better than pushing them."
"I know, just do whatever to get them, together!!"
"Okay Tony, see you then."
———
"Hey dan." You picked up the call infront of Steve, and he looked at you with a confused look.
"Hey Y/n, how are you?"
"I'm great, so where have you been, its been so long." You said, a smile over your face as you talked to your old friend.
"everything's fine, i am in New York for a few days, thought of seeing you, but you seem to be busy.."
"Oh no, we can meet, i'll tell you when i'm free."
"Right, fine!" He said as you end the conversation.
"Who was it?" Steve asked , while he eats , and you look up to him, a small smile, he never asks who it was when you got a call from anyone.
"what?" He asked and you shook your head.
"Its Daniel, my old friend, you haven't met him."
"I guess so. What did he want?"
"Wants to see me..oh wait, Tony just sent a text." You said as you looked at your phone and he looks at yours.
"Me too!" He reads the text as you do, Tony's throwing a party, he groans and smirks
"oh gosh, he's doing it again!" He says
"Well, seems like he just wants to spend some time being happy, he deserves it though." You said and he nods.
"Right!" He says and you both continue with lunch. An idea popped up, you knew you couldn't see Daniel, in between few days, so you decided to take him to Tony's party with you, and you texted him the address to which he agreed.
-----
finally the day comes, when you see Daniel, after four years, he looks kinda different, but happy.
"Hey!" You said and he hugs you.
"You look so gorgeous!" He compliments you and you blush, your dress was a beautiful, emerald green, satin dress.
"Thank you, and you look great too!" You said and he nods as both of you walked to Tony's Party, Talking about old times when you guys met him, and he tells you how he feels living in Italy, now.
You walk in with him, no one noticed it until you saw Nat.
"Hey" Nat comes in and hugs you and hug her back.
"You look so good today, damn!"
"Thank you so much! You look so pretty too, babe!" You said and she smiled, her eyes, are on Daniel, and back on you, as a question of who's this?
"Oh! Sorry! This is Daniel, my old friend, and Daniel, this is Natasha, my very good and best friend." You introduce them and they shake hands ofcourse.
"Nice to meet you! Steve was waiting for you..thought you might want to see him." she said
"Yes, ofcourse i'll see him in a while." You said and she nods, going next to Tony and whispered him what she just witnessed, and you were in your conversation with Daniel back again.
"We should drink." He says and you nod, before you two go get Drinks, and Steve noticed you, a feeling of jealousy taking over him, and then he looks at you, that smile, that beauty. You're always beautiful to him, but today you look extra beautiful and happy, with someone else. He clenched his jaw, and his friends sitting next to him, Bucky, Sam and Sharon, giggling over his reaction
"Oh damn! Did i just witness Steve Rogers, who is seeing the love of his life with someone else and is jealous ?" Sharon laughs and he shoot her a glare.
"seriously, I don't know how are you my friends, i could do so much better!" He said and they laughed.
"They're just friends, bud." Bucky reassures.
"Yea sure, look at him, he's being so weird with Y/n." Sam says and Steve looks at him.
"What? Y/n never wears shit like that, but with him..cap, I think you should go get her." Sam says.
"Guys chill!!! but steve go get her." Sharon says and he nods, and then he sees how touchy Daniel has become.
"Guys, give me a minute!" He says and leaves towards you.
"Daniel, i-you should leave." You said as he keeps a hand on your waist.
"What if I don't want to leave." He says coming closer, and you push him away, and Steve came towards you.
"Stop it y/n! You know i love you alot, just come here once.." he said
"Stay away! I don't like you at all! Do not touch me without my permission!" You said and he scoffs
"Do you remember prom...when you let him touch you, but not me—"
"Sto-stop!!!" You said and Steve came and looked at you, your eyes filled with tears.. and then takes his way with him.
"Hey! You better walk off, or i have to do it my way!"
"And what is your way?" He asks as Steve pushes him.
"You try to come near her one more time, you'll
Be going home on a wheelchair!"
"And who are you? Is she your whore?" Just then you ran away, and cried while Steve tried to stop you, but Daniel punched him which he stops and kicks him in the stomach, just there he falls on the ground.
"Bucky! Sam! Sharon, take your way with him, I need to go to Y/n." He says and they follow him, and he runs upstairs to you.
You in your room, cries remembering that one day, where your anxiety started.
"Y/n.." his soft voice calls you.
"Steve." You reply and he comes in, and looks at you, your eyes messed with some mascara. He comes and sits next to you, and you wipe your tears.
"hey, look at me.." he says and you look at him, still crying, and he kisses your forehead, a feeling of comfort radiates from him. Your eyes closed as you feel his warmth, which is trying to calm you down.
"shh, don't cry, you wanna tell me what happened?" He says and you nod, and he comes closer to you, and holds your hand, and you look away.
"The same thing happened on Prom , the school's popular kid showed interest in me and tried to touch me, but I pushed him away, t-they all made my fun for not liking it, I spent years recovering from it, and when i could live a normal life, it happened again." You said and burst into tears and Steve hugs you and you bury your head in his shoulder.
"Shh, Y/n, i know, i can understand, i'm so sorry honey, i'm here, I'll protect you I promise." He says and you keep hugging him, and he presses small kisses on your head.
"god! i'm so sorry, that i always bring you up in my matters, i should stop, and let you have some fun." You say pulling away.
"No y/n, i'll always choose to be next to you, I don't like anything, if there isn't you." He says, cupping your face, and you smile, after a long time that night.
"Just never lose this." He says , slightly running his fingers over your lips, which are curled in a smile.
"How about you go take a shower till i set series you might want to watch?"
"Friends?" You asked and he nods with a huge grin.
"alright! I'll be back in 5 minutes."
"Alright! Go relax." He said and you walked to your bathroom. You took a shower, relaxing yourself, but you were already relaxed because Steve made you feel so good.
After a good 5 minutes, you get changed into a baggy shirt along with some leggings.
"You are very punctual." Steve says and you smile, slowly slowly, you two get comfortable on the same couch , you laying on top of him as he strokes your hair.
The scene where Monica tries to propose Chandler is on screen, while you silently watch, a smile over both of your faces.
"You know, they're my favorite!!" You said
"I know, they're mine too!" He says, as you meet his eyes, a small smile over both of your faces.
You cup his face, and he pressed a kiss on your palm, but something told you to go for it, and then you did. You pressed your lips on his.
He was shocked at first, but immediately kissed you back, slowly and softly, and you both felt the sparks, after pulling away you and him pant slowly , and you both of you giggled softly.
"You didn't know i wanted this for so long!" He said, holding you in his arms , and kissing your head
"Me too, i-i love you." You replied and in that moment you saw him so happy, that he kissed you again, and with so much love, you couldn't describe how it felt.
"I love you too!" He said smiling, and just then, you heard bucky, along with Sam and Sharon.
"Hey Steve! That dick is out! How's Y/n?" He asked and he held you in his arms as you answered the question.
"Y/n's fine, now when she got Steve." You said and he pressed a kiss on your forehead.
squeels of excitement were heard, as soon as you said that, from them.
"Does that mean you two are together?! Oh my fucking good! Tony's gonna die!! Let's go guys, its time to spread the news!!" You heard bucky say that and both of you laughed at how much excited they were for you.
Now that you got Steve, by yourside, everything seems so good, you knew that every step which would be hard to take, he'd hold you hand through that, and you would do the same for him. You both got each other, which was all that mattered at the end.

I want to ruin our friendship. —
Pairing: James Potter x Reader
Summary: The Marauders, tired of seeing Y/N’s sights of love, sneak Veritaserum into her drink, hoping to make her confess to James Potter.
Warnings: Underage drinking.
Words: 1400.
A/N: This is not my best work but lately I’ve been simping a lot for James... This is based on the song “Jenny” by Studio Killers. Hope you like it! Btw, my requests are always open.
"I just think it would be easier if you told him, you know? Just get over it already, the school year is ending and soon enough we'll be graduating and what if he vanished for good? You'll never know what could have happened between you two." Marlene said, making Y/N roll her eyes at her best friend. She tapped on her parchment the thoughts soaking in.
"Okay, that's enough. Just because you and Sirius worked out it doesn't mean that it'll happen the same to me. James is my best friend since we're eleven, I can't risk loosing everything." Y/N paused, whooshing away dark thoughts. "Now, add this: Veritaserum is a powerful truth serum. The potion effectively forces the drinker to answer any questions put to them truthfully, though there are certain methods of resistance. The use of this potion is strictly controlled by the British Ministry of Magic. " She dictated while Marlene wrote it down on their potions project. The blonde girl stared at the words for a second, a brilliant idea popping up in her mind.
"You've never seen Y/N staring at Potter? You must be kidding me. You boys are so oblivious!" McKinnon exclaimed scoffing, annoyed at her boyfriend.
"No need to offend us." Sirius joked, but corrected his posture when Marlene didn't laugh. "Has she ever said anything to you, Moony? I mean, we can't make her drink a truth serum for nothing, it will probably cost a lot to us."
"No, we usually don't talk about our love life." Remus said and continued talking before Sirius could say something more. "For the hundredth time, Padfoot, we don't have a twin ability to read each other's mind." Black scoffed and threw himself at the sofa, with no more ideas.
"Let's just do it. One way or the other, it will eventually happen, we're just helping them to do it earlier." Dorcas said from the door of the common room, where she was looking out for the two love birds.
"Fine. So here's the plan: Dorcas and Peter sneak into Slughorn's office and steal the material. I mean, borrow. Then they'll bring to me and Lily, we'll brew a stronger version of the Veritaserum, it should make her say whatever it's on her mind at that moment. Then we all go to Ravenclaw's party tonight. Remus puts some drops on her cup and we find a way to get them to be alone." Mary McDonald explained, every eyes of the room on her.
"That should be easy, we better get going though." Peter stood up and so did the rest of the group but Sirius and Marlene. Y/N and James entered the common room, back from their study session.
"And that is why I think everyone, including the wizarding society, should listen to Queen. I have a vinil of theirs in my dorm, I can show you later." Y/N said, making James nod in agreement. "Where's everyone?" She asked the couple.
"They had to... do stuff." Sirius said. Y/N and James sat on the couch. He embraced her by the side and she rested her head on his shoulder, like they always did. He smelled her strawberry scented shampoo and his heart skipped a beat.
"That's a shame, I wanted to talk to Peter. 'Heard he wanted a girlfriend." Y/N stated and closed her eyes. James' ones were now wide open, trying to look at her without moving.
"What do you mean?!"
"I saw this cute little mouse near the black lake, if you know what I mean." She laughed softly, being followed by everyone else in the room.
After a few hours talking, Marlene reminded everyone of the party and they hurried to get ready. On her way to the dorms, Y/N started taking off James' quidditch jersey.
"No, no. You can keep it. This one is getting old anyways. Besides, you look good on it." Potter said, offering a smile. Y/N blushed aggressively and rushed upstairs. She closed the door behind her, hugging the piece of clothing against her chest. She left it on her bed, next to her pillowcase — one of James' old shirts. She bathed and wore a dress that was a gift from James, the most beautiful one in her trunk. An hour later, she met her twin downstairs.
"Am I too late?" She asked.
"A bit, they left already." Remus answered, taking her arm and leading her to the Fat Lady.
The music in the Ravenclaw common room was very loud, it being in the tallest tower of the castle, noone down there would barely hear anything. There was a first grader at the entrance, answering all the riddles so the seventh graders could enter the party without burning their neurones. The sky-ish ceiling was quite a decoration. Besides being introverts, ravenclaws usually pulled out the best parties, because they would never get caught. Sirius quickly approached the twins, giving each one of them a drink. Remus stared at it for a bit while Y/N took a sip. She ran to the dance floor to meet her girlfriends. After a few songs, she went back to the sofas, siting beside her brother. Bring back that Leroy Brown started blasting from nowhere and Y/N jumped, finding James two meters from her. She grabbed the cup on her brothers hand and pulled Potter to the dance floor.
"THIS IS QUEEN!" She screamed at his ear, starting to dance. James, who didn't even knew the song, started jamming to it. He looked at her, the shadows of her face folding the traits that, as he thought, were perfect. She danced and screamed the lyrics like the world would end tomorrow. The song ended and she took a sip of the drink. It was bitter, she felt weak and fell into his arms.
"I think I'm sick," He took her in the arms and walked her out of the common room. They ran to the Astronomy Tower, where the air was fresh and she could breathe better.
"James, darling, you're my best friend." She said after a long moment of silence. They were sitting at the floor, her head was placed on his neck corner. Her words were barely understandable, she looked up to his brown orbits. "But there's a few things that you don't know of..."
"What are you talking about?" His expression was confused but he kept listening closely, watching her lips twitch under the moonlight.
"Why I borrow your jerseys so often..." Even though she wanted to, she couldn't stop talking. The words fell so easily from her mouth, she didn't understand what was happening.
"I already told you, I don't mind. They really do look good on you." He chuckled, earning a grin from her. You're so beautiful, I love you; he thought.
"I'm using your shirt as a pillow case."
"That's kind of creepy." He joked. She put a hand on his cheek, trying to hold back her next words.
"I want to ruin our friendship. We should be lovers instead." She finally said it. Her body was so light it could have flied away. He furrowed his eyebrows, completely surprised.
"Are you serious...?"
"I don't know how to say this, 'cause you're really my dearest friend but," She leaned her forehead to his, taking a deep breath. "James I'm in love with you. I've always been. I love you and I want to be with you forever... And I know this'll end everything but I had to tell you and,"
"I love you too, Y/N. Since third grade, when you tutored me for the first time and now I go on study dates even knowing every content, so I can be alone with you for an hour or two." He smiled, positioned his hand on her neck and kissed her for the first time. It just felt so right to be there, to be with him. She melted into his arms for a deeper intimate moment.
They went back to the party when she felt better, holding hands and getting everyone's attention. The marauders smiled and gave themselves a high-five. They knew that their relationship would be beautiful and last for long.

Book: The Nanny Affair
Characters: Sam, Ana Schuyler (MC), Mason, Mickey, Robin
Pairing: Sam Dalton (male) x Ana Schuyler (MC)
Rating: 18+
Content Warning: Adult Language but so frickin fluffy
Summary: The vows and ceremony are finally underway.
Word Count: 3388
All characters belong to Pixelberry except for a cross over with The Hunted Series by Ivy Smoak and my OCs
A/N: You guys, this chapter has been a long time coming, and I have officially decided to end this series with this chapter, but don't you worry- I have so many plans for Ana, Sam, and even Robin. This chapter is all the fluff I hope you can handle, and I really enjoyed writing about the start of this love story. Thank you for the ones that have stuck with me on this writing journey. I hope you stick around for the rest. A big shout out to @txemrn for always being my number one cheerleader and helping me through the places I got stuck even if you don’t like Sam 🤪
And with that, I present to you, the finale of It Goes On...
My eyes slowly roam the curves of my reflection in the ornately framed full length mirror, lingering on every detail of the Pnina Tornai lace gown. My fingers reach up and delicately trace the outline of the emeralds and diamonds that lay on my neck. The conversations of my nearest and dearest friends seem to fade away in the final moments before I become a Dalton. I take a deep breath, a smile spreads across my stained lips.
“This is really happening.” I say breathlessly.
“Yes, beautiful, this is really happening.” Jenny is at my side with a glass of champagne twirling around in her manicured fingers. “And it’s almost time.” She reaches up and straightens a lock of my hair.
I walk towards the curtained window that is the only thing that separates us from our loved ones that mingle on the other side. I pull back the sheer white fabric and peek out, everyone has been seated, the St. Patrick's Cathedral standing tall over the garden that is adorned with greenery and white roses. The ivory spires a stark contrast against the blue of the sky. I hold my breath as Sam, Mason, and Mickey emerge from a side door, Sam’s eyes find mine through the window with a lopsided grin. I turn back towards the sound of Justin’s voice as he claps his hands.
“It’s time, ladies. Bridesmaids, follow me.”
Jenny ghosts a kiss across my cheek. “See you out there.” She turns and follows Justin out of the room.
“Don’t lock your knees, a dear friend told me on my wedding day, it makes you faint.” Penny gives me a quick hug. “You look beautiful, Ana.”
“Thanks for the advice.” I laugh as she steps away, following Jenny. I turn to Monica, who is dabbing at her eyes with a tissue.
“Don’t you dare start crying, Monica.”
She gives me a rueful smile. “I’m sorry. I’m just so happy for you. I can’t believe after everything we’ve been through together, that I am standing here as your maid of honor on your wedding day.” She walks up to me grabbing both of my hands. “I love you so much.”
“Now, Ms. Maid of Honor.” Justin chimes.
“I love you, Moni.”
She wraps me in a quick hug before she walks out of the room. I peak out of the window again, watching as Monica takes Robin’s arm and they make their way down the aisle, a blush on Monica’s cheeks. I internally roll my eyes before I hear a soft knock on the door behind me.
I turn and I see my father.
“I was told to come get you.” His face lights up in a smile. “You look so beautiful, Apple.”
“Thanks, Dad.” I walk over to him and gently take his offered arm. My eyes linger on the lace detail of my dress, until I feel his eyes on me. I lift my gaze until our matching emerald eyes meet.
“My dear, sweet, Anastasia.” He pauses as he dabs at the tears that are welling in his eyes, his voice soft. “I am the luckiest man alive to have you as my daughter. I am so unbelievably proud of you. You will have everything you want in this world. I knew it from when I first held you in my arms. I knew you would take it all, and hold it tight. You are one of the strongest people I will ever have the pleasure of knowing. Never let anyone tell you otherwise.”
I felt the tears in my eyes. “I love you, Dad.”
“I love you, Ana.”
“It’s time.” Justin says as he pops his head into the room with a smile.
“Well, shall we?” My dad asks with a grin.
“Let’s do it.” I smile up at him as we walk out of the door arm in arm. I could feel the small tremors in my fathers arm as the aisle and all of our guests came into view. Everything fades away when I see him though, standing at the end of the aisle under a white rose covered arch, his smile wider than I have ever seen it.
At this moment, I know that this is love. I can feel it in every single fiber of my being. Sam’s smile grounds me, as my father and I walk down the aisle together. We come to a stop and my dad turns me towards him.
“Anastasia, I love you.” He leans in and presses a soft kiss to my cheek.
“I love you, Dad.”
He squeezes my hand one last time before I turn around and I take Sam’s outstretched hand, that all too familiar electricity arced between us, the instinctive recognition that we had been made to fit together perfectly. I look down at the twins that are standing on either side of him and they flash me a big smile and a thumbs up. My gaze draws back to Sam’s dark eyes as I step up and he squeezes both of my hands in his.
I do not hear a word the pastor says as I get lost in his eyes, noticing how the sun reflects the specks of gold. My eyes drift down to his lips as the corners lift up in a small smile. He turns away from me for a moment and I see Robin hand him something. When he turns back towards me, his face has softened.
“Anastasia,” he says as he slides my wedding band onto my finger. He pauses for a second and I watch his Adam's apple rise and fall. "You once asked me if I was a believer in fate. I wasn't. But I am now because of you. When you walked into my office I had no idea that my life was about to change forever. Your persistence and stubbornness and brilliance and beauty brought me to my knees after only knowing you for a few months. And now here we are. I know that we can get through anything together, I know that we're strong enough together.
"I'm crazy about you and I can't wait for our future. I can't wait for our lives together with you as my wife. You make me want to be a better man for you. You are the air I breathe. You are the dreams I dream. You are the light of my life. I'm consumed by your brilliance and beauty, inside and out. I'm the lucky one. And I don't know why you picked me. But I'm grateful every day. When I wake up every morning and see your face, I'm reminded that I am the luckiest man alive. All that is mine is now yours. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love from this moment on as long as we both shall live.”
I try and fail to blink back tears.
“Don’t cry, my love.” He reaches up and runs his thumb softly across my cheek. “I hate seeing you cry.”
“They are happy tears.” I laugh softly. I take a deep breath before I turn around and Monica hands me Sam’s wedding band. I tuck it into my palm before I reach out for his hands, our fingers intertwined again in front of us. His thumb rubs the back of my hand and a sense of calm rushes over me. I get lost in his magnetic brown eyes before I speak the truest words I have ever spoken.
“I will spend my whole life loving you, Samuel.” I pause as I slide his wedding band onto his finger, goosebumps rising on my skin. I take a deep breath and my eyes lock on his. “There is no me without you. You have been my rock, my safe place, since the moment we first met. I knew, in that moment, that my heart was yours and yours was mine. Sam, I love you with everything that I am. When I look at you, I still get stars in my eyes. I don’t know how it’s possible, but I love you more and more each day. You have brought more joy into my life than I ever thought was possible, between you and your incredibly loving boys, my arms are full, but my heart is fuller.
“You have consumed my every thought, my every dream. You have pierced my soul. I want to wake up beside you every morning. I want to spend every evening looking at you at the dinner table. I want to fall asleep next to you every night. You are the source of my joy, the center of my world, and the whole of my heart. I love you, Sam and every fiber of me I give to you for as long as we both shall live.”
Sam takes his bottom lip between his teeth as his eyes shine with unshed tears. He shakes his head slightly, whispering a silent, ‘god, I love you’.
“Samuel, do you take Anastasia to be your lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold until death do you part?” The pastor says.
Sam smiles down at me. “I do.”
“Anastasia, do you take Samuel as your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to hold until death do you part?”
“I do.” I can barely contain the excitement in my voice.
“Then by the power vested in me by the state of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride.”
“Finally, you’re mine.” He smiles and pulls me into his arms pressing a heated kiss to my lips as our guests erupt in cheers. To hell with etiquette. I grab his lapels and deepen the kiss as his hands slide down my body pulling me against his chest. Whistles sounded from where our bridal party was standing, but I didn’t care. When we finally pull away from each other I can feel the blush that has creeped up my cheeks. I reach up and touch my lips as Sam looks down at me. My chest tightens at the look he is giving me and in this moment, I am absolutely, irrevocably, happy.
“We’re married.”
“Yes, we are.” He bends down and scoops me up in his arms, carrying me down the aisle as I laugh. I caught my mom's eye as tears fell down her face. Mickey and Mason run up besides Sam, and together as a family we walk into the groom suite. He sets me down on my feet and I take a step back, allowing me to kneel down and pull Mason and Mickey into my sides for a hug.
“Mom, that was so pretty.” Mason’s smile was wide.
“Yeah, it was perfect.” Mickey nodded with a matching smile.
“Oh boys, thank you.” I looked back and forth between their handsome, smiling, faces and pulled them back into a hug. “I love you boys, so much.”
“We love you, too.”
A soft knock interrupts the moment and I look over to see Robin standing in the door with a smile. “I was told to come and get you for photos.”
I look back and forth between the twins, “Are you boys ready to go take some pictures?”
“Only if we get to do one goofy one.” Mickey chimes.
“I would expect nothing less.” I say standing up.
They turn and run out the door and I take Sam’s hand, twisting our fingers together. He leans down and presses a soft kiss to my lips. “Let’s do this, Mrs. Dalton.”
“I really like the sound of that.”
“Me too, baby.”
***
“Ladies and Gentleman, may I present to you, for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Dalton!”
I scrunch my face up with a smile, feeling giddy at the fact that I am officially his and he is officially mine. Sam grabs my hand and holds it in the air as we walk back out to the garden together to the raucous applause and cheers from our guests. The space that once held our ceremony had been transformed for our reception, and I made a mental note to thank Justin, because it was spectacular.
Sam gives me a twirl before guiding me over to our sweetheart table. He pulls out my chair and I flash him a grateful smile when he sits down next to me. I hear the clinking of silverware on a glass and I look over to see Monica giving me a coy smile. I lean in and press my lips to Sams, our eyes lingering on each other as we slowly break away.
I hear someone clear their throat over the speaker and Sam and I turn to see Robin holding a mic and grinning at us. I cast a nervous glance over at Sam.
“He better not say anything embarrassing.” I whisper.
“Knowing him he is definitely going to say something embarrassing, and I’m probably going to have to apologize.” He sets his lips in a thin line as Robin begins his speech.
“How’s everyone doing tonight?” He pauses for effect with a lopsided grin. “You know, Sam isn’t my brother by blood, but him and I grew up inseparable until his parents were gracious enough to take me in. Him and I have been through a lot together and for the longest time, no one knew Sam like I did. Now? It’s a different story. The lovely Ana is probably the only person at this point that knows Sam better than I do. She’s the only person to really get him to break down his walls. It’s probably the fact that she is so damn beautiful.”
I spit the champagne that I was sipping back into the glass. What in the actual fuck, Rob. A few people laughed nervously, my eyes flicked to Mason and Mickey who were talking between each other and fortunately didn’t hear it.
“Or maybe it was the whole boss/hot nanny thing, I mean sneaking around, the forbidden aspect of it. It’s hot, who could resist? I know we can joke about it now-“
Sam clears his throat and I know I am blushing furiously.
Robin laughs. “Sorry, Sam, but honestly, anyone who knows these two can tell it’s a deeper connection than anything physical. I’ve never seen a couple that cares so unconditionally for each other. I knew when these two met, that it was going to be impossible to tear them apart. Ana, I love you like a sister and Sam, I love you man. I look up to you and I am so happy that you finally found someone that makes you as happy as you deserve to be. You two are adored by all and I wish you a lifetime of happiness. Cheers.”
Sam smiles and shakes his head as we clink our glasses together. “I’m so sorry.” He leans down and whispers in my ear.
“Well that’s going to be hard to follow.” Monica steps up and takes the mic from Robin who flashes her a wink and she blushes. “For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Monica. I have been Ana’s best friend since we were… hmm 3?” She pauses as there is a small laugh. “We were inseparable until our passions took us to different grad schools, and then she moved to New York. I still remember the day that Ana first told me about Sam, I also remember the obstacles that faced these two if he really was as special as she said he was.
“These two have faced insurmountable obstacles, but have come out on top. Ana. You are my best friend, the sister that I never had, and you deserve the absolute best. I know without a doubt that Sam is that for you. You each bring out the best parts of each other. And I am so lucky to be a witness to your love story. Sam, you have proven to be worthy of my best friend, treating her with the love and respect that she deserves, make sure that never changes. With that, let’s raise our glasses to the happy couple, cheers to Ana and Sam.”
I give Monica a grateful smile as she raises her glass at me. The rest of dinner passes by in a blur of joyful laughs and tears. Mason Senior's speech brings smiles to everyone’s face as he recalls an embarrassing story about Sam, and after my fathers speech, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room. Sam's hand remained firmly in my lap as his fingers toyed with the rings on my finger. Our occasional stolen glances were only outnumbered by the delicate kisses we shared. Just when I didn’t feel like my heart could get any fuller, he would look at me like that, and my chest would tighten.
When the live band signals the start of the dances, a tinge of sadness hits me as I realize this perfect night is inching closer to its conclusion. I look over at Sam, taking his offered hand with a grateful smile. He leads me onto the dance floor, lifting his arm and twirling me gracefully into his strong chest as the live band begins to play our song. The smell of his cologne, the warmth from his body, and the ethereal atmosphere, make me feel like I am living in a dream.
The band's singer croons out the lyrics to Can’t Help Falling In Love and my heart feels like it's about to burst. I lean back slightly so I can look up into his eyes. “Today is perfect.” I reach up and cup his cheek.
“Today is the best day of my life.” He responds as he leans down and presses a kiss to my forehead.
I rest my cheek against his chest, as he softly sings the lyrics.
“Like a river flows, surely to the sea, darling so it goes somethings are meant to be...”
He lifts his hand and twirls me around again before dipping me and bringing me tight to his chest again.
“So take my hand, take my whole life too, for I can’t help falling in love with you.” He sings against my lips, our swaying long since forgotten as everything else fades away.
As the sweet melody fades away, everyone erupts in cheers and whistles, but my gaze lingers on his deep brown eyes.
“I love you, Sam.” I whisper.
“I love you, Ana.” He whispers back.
Mason and Mickey are at our sides a moment later, and the band starts an upbeat version of ‘You’ll Be in My Heart’. I grab Mason’s hand and spin him around. The sound of his laughter rings out over the music as we dance as a family of four.
***
I close my eyes and focus on the steady beat of his heart. The sounds of the city far below us, as we slowly sway to a rhythm only in our minds.
“Well, I think today could not have been any more perfect.” His voice was low.
I look up into his dark eyes as a gentle smile plays on his lips, his fingers trace delicate circles across the back of my neck.
“It was absolutely perfect.” I smile and rest my cheek back on his chest.
I look around the now-empty rooftop garden, clinging to the final moments of my wedding day, as sweet memories flash through my mind.
“You are the most sensational woman I have ever laid eyes on, and I cannot believe that you are finally all mine.”
I sigh. “Mrs. Dalton has a great ring to it.”
He wraps his arms around my shoulders and gives me a squeeze.
Movement at the edge of the garden catches my attention and I see Mickey stepping out onto the rooftop.
“Mickey.” Robin and Monica appear behind him and he ushers Mickey back inside. “Not tonight, buddy.” I hear Robin murmur as he puts his arm around Mickey’s shoulder. I flash Robin a grateful smile and he winks, disappearing behind the curtained window.
“So what’s next Mr. Dalton?” I ask as I lean away from him and look up into his deep brown eyes.
His hands drop down to the small of my back, pulling my hips into his.
“Forever.”

minutes later, the doorbell rang. you hurriedly open your door. and there he is- your boyfriend sporting a damp and messy hair in his office wear. which made him more hotter, you thought.
"hey there, my birthday girl!"
right after closing the door, he crashed his lips onto yours. your hands made its way to his neck then cling on him. his one hand slip on your waist while the other is holding the cake.
he stopped kissing you and then shower kisses all over your face. it made you giggle. you held his face to make him stop and rested your forehead onto his.
"take of your clothes."
"ohoho? we wildin tonight, huh?" he smirked at you. that made you laugh. you cupped his, gave him a chaste kiss and turn away from him.
"hmm, no. you're wet and you might get sick if you don't change immediately." he just let out a whiny noise. you just laughed at him.
both of you started eating after he changed his shirt. you just planned to take a glimpse of him to see what's his reaction on the foods you cooked but you find yourself staring at him.
you wonder how it all started? was it the debate against him? was it his passion for sports? his mesmerizing eyes? his messy bed hair? the way he calls you? his corny ass science jokes? or is it the awkward moment when he confessed to you?
wow, you've been with him for ten years now, and six years from that is being in a relationship with him. you've come a long way now, you've seen his best and worse part and you shared with him your best and worse part too. and i regret nothing at all. it was the best, and if i were given a chance to turn back time id still choose to be with him.
"you know, if you want me you can just say it, love." he said while grinning at me.
"i love you, tetsu." you said out of nowhere.
his grin faded and turned into a genuine smile. his eyes look more softer now, just like how you love it. he reached for your hand and kissed it.
"you know that i love you too right?" you nodded at him. "i love you so much, y/n."
after that soft moment, both of you continued eating. you remind him that there will be a small celebration in your parent's house this weekend.
he talked about his work and how he's happy seeing kids olaying volleyball, making him remember his junior high. he cracked corny jokes that made you laugh but not because of the joke, its because of his hyena laugh.
you we're cleaning the table while he's washing the dishes, when his phone rang. he put down the dish and answered his phone.
after a while, he finished talking on his phone. he immediately embrace you from behind.
"work?"
"yeah, they said that they needed me for an urgent meeting with our prospect sponsor."
"then, get your ass going! so you can come back here faster then we can enjoy eating the cake you bought!"
"im sorry, love. i didn't expect this to happen."
"it's really okay, tetsu. go now, be careful on driving." you kissed his lips.
he's pouting. with a heavy steps, he put on a coat and grab his things. before he finally go, he kiss you a little bit longer now.
"wait for me, okay? i didn't give you my gift yet, so wait for me."
you just nodded at him. and off he go.
it's almost an hour when the doorbell rang. you got off from the comfortable couch to open the door. well, that was fast, you thought.
kuroo never drove his car this fast like before. he's always a careful driver, because you always get mad at him when he tries beating the red light.
"where's y/n?!" his fist is turning white because of a hard grip. kenma pointed the door of your hospital room.
when he opened the door your parents are there. your mom's crying while your dad's comforting her.
"tetsurou, oh god! you're finally here!" your mom said and hugged him. then she guode you close to your bed.
"what happened to, y/n? im sorry i didn't mean to leave her alone."
"we understand. your friends called us when they can't contact you. they said y/n suddenly fell on the floor."
he's too preoccupied with you that he didn't even realize that his friends are there. your mom said they're all outside.
when he got out of your room, his friends approached him. saying sorry for what happened and they didn't know why you suddenly fell on the floor then hit your head on the table. yaku panicked when he saw your head bleeding so they immediately run you to the hospital.
it's a little late when your parents decided to go home along with his friends. now, he's all alone in your room. still wondering why his friends are in his house, but he just shrug it of.
he was woken up when he felt someone caressing his head. and when he opened his eyes, he met yours. your now sitting in your bed.
he quickly got up from his chair and embrace you tightly. he kissed your lips repeatedly too.
"stop... tetsu... oh god!" he stopped kissing you but he burried his head in your neck.
you we're surprised when you felt your neck get wet and his back is shaking. he's crying!
"tetsu? im okay, don't worry hmm."
"i thought i'd lose you! don't do that fucking act again!"
"i promise, i won't. now let me see my first baby before this belly of mine pops out in eight months."
he let go of you and look at you with full of confusion.
"pop what? what do you mean by that?"
you held his face, caressing it. also, wiping his tears away. "im one month pregnant, love."
he shuts down. like he can't process what you just said. "no fucking way! fuck! im gonna be a dad! yes!"
he's crying again! you motioned him to sit beside you and hug him while patting his back. your also whispering sweet nothings to him, and what made you laugh a little is he's replying too while crying. he calmed down. clearing his throat, he takes something out in his pocket.
its a tiny velvet box.
"this is supposed to be the gift im giving you today." he handed you the box. you opened it, a silver necklace with your name on it and small diamonds. he put it on you.
"and this, this is supposed to be my gift to you for this weekend. i just felt the urge to give it to you now." he took another velvet box inside coat.
he knelt infront of you. "this may not be the sweetest place and time to propose but i can't wait any longer now that you gave me the most beautiful gift id ever receive in my whole life. please be my wife?"
you're now crying. you can't utter any words so you're just nodding your head at him. he slip the ring in your ring finger.
"thank you, tetsu. i never imagine that we'll go this far. just a while a go, i called your friends to plan my surprise to you this weekend and now we're here."
"that's why lev congratulated me! i almost wanna punch him tho. they also know that ill be proposing to you this weekend."
"wow. we really sucks at planning, ha?"

Your apartment had devolved into utter chaos the last two days. It seemed like every time you rounded a corner, you had to dodge some person or scrap of metal or power tool, and it was getting on your last nerve. New York wasn't exactly known for spacious living arrangements as it was, so to have what little space you did covet overrun with your brother's shit really sent you into overdrive.
"Lizard's mom has a house in Queens, why the hell is all this shit here and not in her basement?" you snapped at Danny early one morning after you stubbed your toe on a drill.
"He's worried about her finding out what we're up to," Danny explained, and you immediately scoffed into your coffee.
"She's deaf in one ear and hasn't stepped foot in her basement since his dad died."
Danny agreed to move his time traveling project to Queens later that day.
The scowl on your face smoothed out the moment Marcus entered your kitchen, rubbing sleep from his eyes and looking absolutely devastating in the pajama pants you had bought for him just a few days prior. It took all your willpower not to let your eyes drop below his waist, having already made that mistake the day before. The noticeable bulge hidden amongst the thin sleepwear had you spacing out the entire train ride to work and you couldn't afford any distractions that day. You had a big meeting at eleven where you had to present the next topic for your column and you were scrambling. The source you had for your long-distance relationship idea fell through last minute, so now you were tasked with brainstorming a spectacular backup plan in the next four hours.
"Morning, General. How did you sleep?" Danny asked as he scooped cereal into his mouth.
"Quite well, thank you," he replied, then his eyes met yours and he smiled. "Good morning, my lady."
You grinned like a school girl, your heart fluttering excitedly in your chest when you stammered, "G-good morning." Danny rolled his eyes but chose wisely to keep his mouth shut.
Marcus was able to find his way around by that point, however he still seemed hesitant to just start opening your drawers and cupboards when he needed something. Tired of reminding him to just help himself, you set down your coffee and picked up your loaf of bread from the corner of the counter.
"Same as yesterday?" you asked him as you popped two slices of bread in the toaster, anticipating his answer.
"Please," he said with a grateful nod, then dutifully clasped his hands at his waist.
When Danny watched you crack some eggs into a frying pan along with a few sausage links, his jaw dropped.
"You're making breakfast for him but not for me?" he whined.
You swiveled around and pointed your spatula in his face. "He is our guest, thanks to you," you reminded him, and Danny quickly shut up.
"I do not wish to be a burden," Marcus said. He hadn't moved but his broad frame felt like it took up the entire room.
"You're not a burden, Marcus," you told him softly, then gave him a small, reassuring smile.
"Yeah, no worries, man," Danny said, clapping him firmly on the shoulder before dumping his dirty dishes in the sink. "I'm just giving my sister a hard time because it's obvious she wants to jump your bones."
"Danny!" you shrieked while throwing an oven mitt at his head. He dodged it and ducked out of the kitchen, his laughter fading down the hall towards his bedroom.
Your cheeks felt like they were on fire as you turned your focus back to the frying pan. When Marcus cleared his throat, you closed your eyes in dread because you knew what was coming.
"What did that mean, jump your bones?"
"Nothing, just ignore him," you said, sliding the eggs and sausage onto a plate. A few seconds passed when Danny's voice shouted down the hall, "It's a euphemism for sex!"
"Goddamnit," you muttered through clenched teeth. You began to storm out of the kitchen, prepared to kick Danny's ass, but Marcus shot an arm out to stop you.
"You look lovely today."
You gazed up at him, mouth agape, while you tried to find your voice.
Say something. Anything.
"Thanks. Uh, thank you," you mumbled, smoothing down the pink and white floral dress you picked out. On days where you had your big monthly meeting, you tried to make an effort to look like you belonged at a fashion magazine.
"Do you have plans today?" he asked, his eyes swooping down your frame appreciatively, and for once it didn't make your stomach turn when a man looked at you that way. "Daniel tells me there is a beautiful park in the city. I desire to see it and would very much enjoy your company."
You knew you were reading too much into it, but you couldn't help but feel like he was asking you on a date.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Marcus," you said, "I have to work today. But I promise we will see it before you go home."
Home.
His face fell at the word and he quickly dropped his gaze to the floor, trying to hide his disappointment.
"Of course, I understand. Thank you for breakfast," he said, sliding past you so he could pick up the plate you made for him. You chewed your lip and glanced at the time. If it were any other day, you would just call in sick, but today was too important to miss.
"I promise, okay?" you told him as you gathered your bags. "We will see Central Park before you leave. And whatever else you want."
He nodded and took a bite of his food. Although he appeared to be unbothered, you still felt an enormous amount of guilt.
"Danny!" you called from the front door, "this shit better be gone by the time I get home!"
"Yes, Mom!" he shouted back sarcastically from the bathroom. You rolled your eyes and gave Marcus a quick wave before hurrying out the door.
You were fucked.
You had one hour until your meeting and you had absolutely nothing.
Already, you had done your usual brainstorming techniques five times over. You scrolled through social media, hoping to find some trend or topic that might be popular and garner attention, but you were coming up dry, so you kept circling back to your long distance relationship idea. You had sent out every feeler you could think of, asking any of your usual contacts if they had anyone you could use for a story about your chosen topic, but so far you weren't having any luck.
Suddenly, your phone rang and you lunged for it, hoping it was a lead, then groaned when you saw Danny's contact picture pop up on the screen.
"Hello?"
"Hey..." he began, and you could tell by the tone in his voice that you should brace yourself.
"What did you do?"
He laughed on the other end. "I didn't do anything. Actually, I did do something - I am getting all this stuff out of your place, but there's just one thing."
"Spit it out," you said, your eyes flickering to the time. 45 minutes to go.
"I can't take Marcus with us to Queens. There's no room in Lizard's car."
"So let him stay in the apartment."
"I'm not leaving him all alone in New York City!" he protested. You heard some familiar sounds in the background of the call and you frowned.
"Where are you?"
Danny paused and you instantly began to put your defenses up.
"I'm... in your lobby. With Marcus and Lizard."
"You're what?!" you exclaimed in a loud whisper, glancing around to make sure nobody overheard you in your cubical.
"I told to him to just stay in the lobby and read your crappy magazines and if anyone asks, to tell them he's here for meeting."
"Danny! You can't do this, I can't babysit a fucking Roman General right now!"
You heard Danny walk a few paces away, presumably to get some privacy so Marcus wouldn't overhear, before he answered.
"He'll stay downstairs, I promise. I told him what floor you're on in case of an emergency but maybe you can pop down and take him for lunch. You've been making heart eyes at this Roman General for the past three days, don't try and lie."
Anger coursed through your veins but you were running out of precious time, so you gave up.
"Fine," you seethed.
"Great!" Danny said cheerily. "But I might not be back til late. We're burning tons of time moving all this stuff, we got work to do."
"So I have to bring him home?"
"Yes, you'll have to bring him home. You're going there anyway, aren't you? What's the big deal?"
"The big deal is he's going to be bored and lonely all day down there!" you snapped.
"He's not going to be bored. He's in New York City. The elevators alone are blowing his mind right now."
Despite yourself, you smiled when you remembered how in awe he was the first time he rode in an elevator.
"Tell him I'll be down to take him to lunch in like, a little over an hour. I have a meeting at eleven."
"You're the best!" Danny said, then before you could respond, the line went dead.
You grumbled obscenities under your breath when you heard a familiar voice say your name from the opening of your cube.
"Hey, ready for the meeting?" Matt asked. You practically dropped your phone from his sudden appearance and he chuckled. "Did I scare you?"
"Yes," you hissed as you began to gather your things, trying to hide your annoyance. You looked over the top of your cubical wall, hoping and praying you would see someone - anyone - else to walk with to the conference room, but you were shit out of luck.
"Doing anything fun tonight?" he inevitably asked, like he always did, and you sighed. You made the mistake of hooking up with him after one particularly rowdy work happy hour and ever since then, Matt's been waiting for his next opportunity. "I know a guy who works at that new French restaurant, I can get us a reservation and then, who knows..."
"I have a friend in from out of town," was all you said. No matter how many times you turned him down, he remained persistent.
"That's cool. Girls night, then?"
"My friend's a guy," you quickly corrected him.
Matt stumbled over his feet as you reached the conference room. It was the biggest one on your floor, directly across from the elevator banks. The entire wall was made of glass, floor to ceiling, so you could see through the room to the opposite wall, where there was a fantastic view of the city.
"Oh, like a cousin, or..."
"Nope," you replied, voice clipped so he knew the topic was closed. With a frustrated huff, Matt plopped down next to you and flipped open his portfolio. You gave him a sideways glance, momentarily feeling bad for him. He was by all accounts a good looking guy. He wrote a column for the men's health section and based on his physique, you assumed he practiced what he preached, but sadly his looks is where his good qualities came to an end.
Charlotte, your editor, breezed into the room, her presence enough to make everyone sitting at the long table quiet right down. She ghosted her palm over her perfectly coiffed grey hair and sat her portfolio down in front of her chair at the head of the table. As you got yourself organized, your mind scrambling to come up with a lie about a long distance relationship source, Charlotte placed her phone down delicately next to her leather portfolio, then slowly uncapped the expensive looking pen someone once told you was gifted to her by Marc Jacobs. Everybody watched and waited until she was ready, which was signified by a dainty clearing of her throat and a quick, sweeping glance over the table followed by a curt nod. At that point, the usual routine began.
Without having to be asked, one by one everybody took their turn presenting their idea for the month. Each person's name was listed on the agenda in the order Charlotte wished, and mercifully yours was dead last.
Your anxiety began to spike when Sara, the girl who was before you in nutrition started to wrap up her brief speech about some gluten free lifestyle benefit bullshit.
Keep it short. Keep it vague, and you'll figure it out later. Everyone wants to leave, it's almost lunch.
Then some movement by the elevators caught your eye. Your breathing ceased and you broke out into a cold sweat when you saw Marcus had stepped out of the elevator and was fucking talking to the receptionist. Then you locked eyes when they both turned to look towards the conference room.
"Shit," you whispered.
Matt nudged your ribs and you startled, glancing around the room to see Sara had sat down and half the table was staring at you, waiting for you to begin. You shakily stood up and swallowed the lump in your throat when Marcus began to weave his way towards you through the maze of cubicles.
Call it a stroke of genius or divine inspiration, but an incredible idea hit you right as you opened your mouth to speak. You had about half a second to decide if you should wing it and trust your gut or talk out of your ass about your first idea.
Fuck it.
"This month, I have a very interesting idea that I'm super excited about exploring," you began, watching when Marcus came to a stop outside the glass door. He looked back and forth, his fingers twitching at his sides. "My topic will be Romance without Technology," you announced with a confident smile. "I'll be researching how adults navigate their love lives without the help of dating apps, social media, or even texting," you said, listing each item on your finger as you spoke.
"Who's that guy?" Sara asked, pointing towards the door. It was at that point you realized most of the table was gawking at the tall, broad, handsome looking Roman General waiting to get your attention.
You smiled and walked toward the door with your arm outstretched.
"This is Marcus," you said, holding the door open and ushering him inside. He murmured your name but you cut him off. "He's the subject I'll be interviewing for this month's article. He doesn't use technology of any kind. In fact, he doesn't even own a cell phone."
The entire room gasped and Marcus looked around, confused, but understood what you needed him to do. He raised one arm up to greet the room and said, "Good morning."
Most of the women began to whisper excitedly to one another, shooting him looks and giggling behind their hands until Charlotte cleared her throat and once again, the room fell into silence.
You chewed your lower lip anxiously as you waited for Charlotte to silently appraise you both. Finally, you saw the corner of her mouth twitch and she gave you a barely perceptible nod.
"I look forward to reading it."
She stood abruptly and collected her things, signifying the end of the meeting, and relief flooded your veins.
"Are you okay?" you asked Marcus, pulling him to the side while the room stood and slowly filtered out. He nodded.
"Yes. There were many vehicles that passed by with bright lights and loud sirens. When I asked what it was for, I was told there was an emergency."
You giggled and shook your head. "So the fearsome General was scared?"
His brows knitted together for a moment before he answered.
"No. I grew concerned for your well being."
Your heart could have melted on the spot.
"Oh," you said softly, and just like that, the annoying little flutter in your chest was back. "I-I'm fine, but thank you. That was... that's really sweet, actually."
He grinned as his eyes swooped down your frame, causing butterflies to awaken in your stomach.
"Did you wanna get something to eat?" you asked as you stared up at him, his large frame making you feel so tiny in comparison. "It'll be on the company's dime since I kinda just signed you up to be the subject of my next article."
He cocked an eyebrow at you and shoved his hands into the pockets of his khakis, the action bringing up the memory of you measuring his inseam and you felt your face begin to heat up. God, you must have looked ridiculous, standing there in front of Marcus in the middle of your office, looking up at him with big doe eyes.
"Of course," he replied, "but what do you intend to write about me?"
You grinned and hurried back to your abandoned chair, scooping up your things before pointing to the door.
"Let me drop this stuff off at my desk and I'll explain everything."
"My marriage was arranged," he reminded you from across the table draped in white linen. You decided to take him to a nicer steakhouse not too far from your office, one that didn't enforce a dress code but still had good food that you rarely sprung for out of your own pocket.
"I know, but I'm sure you can still give me an idea of what romance was like," you replied. "For example, did you get her any gifts? Give flowers? Take her to places that were meaningful to you? Or to her?"
Marcus dropped his gaze to the table and shrugged. "We knew each other for such a short period of time, there was unfortunately not much in the way of romance."
You clocked the forlorn look in his eye and began to feel guilty for bringing it up. "I'm sorry. I'll just make something up, don't worry about it. No one'll know."
"No, no, I wish to help," he said quickly, his hand stretching across the table to loop two of his fingers around yours. "Just because I do not have many personal stories to share does not mean I cannot help with your research."
"I don't want to reopen any old wounds," you explained, your eyes fixed on the way his hand linked with yours so naturally on the tabletop.
He chuckled softly, his smile causing his deep brown eyes to sparkle and a dimple to appear on his cheek.
"It was a very long time ago."
When your salads arrived at your table, Marcus released your hand to pick up his fork, frowning down at the bowl before asking, "This is the salad named after Julius Caesar?"
You giggled and shook your head, the sound causing him to lift his chin with a warm smile.
"No," you said once you collected yourself, "No, it's named after another Caesar. The guy who created it, I think."
Marcus didn't seem to mind he was wrong or that you found his error so funny. In fact, he enjoyed it.
"You have a beautiful laugh."
Instantly, your cheeks flushed and you shyly looked down to focus on your salad. "Thank you," you said softly.
He watched you silently for another minute more, admiring the way your eyes fluttered shut when you tasted something good or tucked a stray piece of hair behind your ear, then took a hesitant bite of his salad.
He raised his eyebrows in surprise and you grinned from behind your napkin.
"Delicious."
You giggled again and nodded. "Yes, it is."
Once your salads were taken away and before your main course arrived, you pulled out a notebook and flipped to a blank page.
"Let's start from the beginning. You don't have to go into excruciating detail. Maybe just some things you know of that others did to... court women? Is that even the right word?" you mumbled the last part to yourself as you scribbled something at the top of your paper.
"It was seen as a sign of weakness for a man to become infatuated with a woman," he said, and you looked up at him in surprise.
"Why's that?"
"Marriages rarely were based on affection. They were viewed as a way to improve your social standing, but it was mutually beneficial," he explained, his finger tracing the design engrained in his fork. "Women were taken care of, looked after and tended to while the men were able to claim a high ranking senator or nobleman as their family. And, of course..." he trailed off, his cheeks staining pink when he dropped his gaze to the table and said, "received the traditional benefits of having a wife."
You smirked to yourself as you wrote notes on your pad of paper.
"Thought you were used to talking about sex openly," you teased. He cleared his throat and your pen paused over your paper to meet his eye.
"I admit, at times I feel nervous around you."
"Me?" you balked, but he just nodded and your brain scrambled for something to say that wouldn't entirely embarrass you. You landed on deflection.
"I thought it was a sign of weakness to grow infatuated?"
He grinned and leaned back in his chair. "I never said I agreed with that line of thought."
"No, I suppose you didn't," you said, shyly dropping your eyes to your paper. His gaze was too intense. Every time you looked at him it felt like he could see right through you. "So, tell me. Hypothetically. If we lived in Rome and I caught your eye, what would you do? How would you win me over?"
Marcus took a deep breath, his broad shoulders relaxing as he thought about your question for a moment, staring at your pen hovering over your paper.
"I would write you letters every day," he said softly, forcing your eyes back onto him. His voice was low and deep, smooth yet firm as he spoke. "I would write of your beauty. I would compare the color of your eyes to the flowers and fauna that grew in my garden, delicate and all encompassing. I would tell you how food tastes better on my tongue when you are around, and how I ache for you when you are not near. I would try to explain how difficult it is to breathe without you, and how I would gladly die a thousand deaths just to feel the softness of your lips against mine."
You stared at him, hand frozen where you left it resting on your notebook. He waited patiently until you finally blinked yourself out of your stupor and inhaled a shaky breath.
"Uh, s-so love letters, then," you stammered, shakily scribbling down something incoherent on your paper. Jesus fucking Christ, get it together.
"Yes. Love letters," he repeated. He sounded so cool and collected. How was he so relaxed? A moment ago, he was admitting you made him nervous. Maybe he was just better at hiding it than you.
Your server arrived and placed your food down in front of you, the heavenly scent wafting up and making your mouth water. Placing your pen down in favor of picking up your fork and knife, you asked, "Have you ever had steak?"
"I am not sure. What animal is it?" he asked, picking up his fork and testing the tenderness of his steak by giving it a little poke.
"It's cow. Try it, it's good."
"Cows were used for farming," he said before slicing a piece off and examining it closely. "We could not afford to slaughter them."
You watched as he popped a bite into his mouth and chewed thoughtfully before giving you a smile and nod.
"Good?" you asked, your heart skipping a beat at finding another food he liked.
"Very," he replied once he swallowed. "You are quite perceptive and have good taste."
"Thank you," you answered, taking another bite and trying not to preen too much from the praise.
"So tell me," he said after he finished up his filet and moved on to his potato, which he eyed wearily. "Do you not receive love letters as a form of courtship?"
"Uh, no," you replied with a laugh. "Closest thing to that nowadays would be a text and even those are... sub par."
"So what is it that you do?"
"What do you mean?"
He pointed to your notepad with his fork. "For romance. What activities do you take part in?"
"Oh," you said, wiping your mouth and pushing your empty plate to the side. "You mean dates. Uh, this actually. Get dinner together. Sometimes see a movie," you paused and rethought your word choice when you saw his face. "A show, or a play. Um, sometimes go to a bar. Stuff like that."
He nodded and let your answer roll around in his head for a moment before asking, "So, is this a date?"
Marcus smiled when he saw you become flustered. You thanked the server for clearing your plates and leaving the bill before responding.
"Uh, I don't know," you finally said shyly, making his smile grow even wider. "Do you want - I mean, well... I'm technically working, but, you know, if - if that was something you were interested in, then, I guess w-we could classify this, or, you know, it could be construed-"
"Yes or no," he said, interrupting your insane ramblings with a soft look and an outstretched hand. Your face was hot with embarrassment but you reached out for his hand, anyway.
"Yes."
"Yes," he repeated, squeezing your fingers. You grinned and nodded, your stomach doing cartwheels as you tried to steady your breath.
Once you paid with your corporate credit card, you walked back out to the street, Marcus holding the doors open for you before offering you his hand. You sheepishly accepted it and walked a few paces in the direction of your office before he stopped you.
"Must you return to work?"
You gave him a sad smile and took a step closer. "Yeah, I'm sorry. But maybe I can play hooky tomorrow."
Marcus raised a curious eyebrow at you while playing with the material of your dress with his free hand, gently pinching and feeling the fabric between his fingers. "What does-"
"It means I'll call in sick without actually being sick so I can have the day off," you explained without him needing to finish asking.
He grinned and dropped your dress in favor of cupping your cheek. "I would like that very much."
"Me, too," you said, gazing up at him while leaning into his touch. His strong, calloused hand felt rough against your skin, but you liked it. As if reading your mind, he stroked his thumb over your cheekbone and murmured, "You are so soft."
You hummed, not trusting yourself to speak when you watched him slowly lean down to your level, your eyes fluttering shut as you waited to feel his mouth against yours. But just when his shadow got close enough to block the sun behind your eyelids, you heard someone shout your name.
You swiveled around angrily, your hand still laced together with Marcus's as you looked for the person who interrupted one of the more romantic moments of your life.
And then you saw Matt stalking up to you from the direction of the restaurant.
"Is this why you've been ghosting me?"
You frowned and tilted your head. "What?"
Matt came to a stop in front of you both and jutted his chin towards Marcus. "Too busy sleeping with your profiles to hang out?"
"W-what?" you stammered again, too shocked to fight back with your usual vigor. You felt Marcus stiffen next to you. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he immediately sensed your discomfort. "I'm not - this isn't-"
"Oh, sure," he sneered, crossing his arms, his biceps bulging out of his thin dress shirt. "I saw you two in there. You were three seconds away from crawling into his lap."
Your mouth hung open in shock and humiliation. "Were you following me?"
Before Matt could answer, Marcus took a step forward.
"I am going to have to insist you stop yelling," he seethed, and even though Matt followed his own advice in his articles and worked out plenty, Marcus still towered over him.
Matt's eyes went wide for just a moment before his bravado returned. "C'mon, man. She's just using you, don't you see that?" Matt prodded, then he scoffed. "Unless you're good with it. Then by all means, have fun. She's a good fuck but I don't think she's got much else."
It all happened so fast, you couldn't remember Marcus dropping your hand and cocking his fist. You couldn't remember the first sickening crunch of his knuckles against Matt's nose, but you did remember hearing his pained howl.
Marcus only landed a few more blows before you came to your senses and tugged him by the shoulder. It was laughable to think you would be strong enough to move him, but you must have also said something because Marcus immediately stopped and turned back to you.
"Jesus Christ!" you cried shakily, hands trembling as they hovered in the air. You weren't sure what to do and people were staring as they walked by, driving up your anxiety. Marcus was fine except for his skinned knuckles, but Matt was much worse. He had a busted lip and already a bright blue shiner forming on his cheekbone, and when he stood to face you both, you noticed another cut on the other cheek.
"The fuck is wrong with you!" he spat, blood dripping down his chin.
"Mind how you speak to women and perhaps they will wish to spare you their time," Marcus snarled. Matt turned his attention to you, the pad of his thumb swiping against his lower lip.
"Who is this guy? What the fuck is his deal?"
You took a deep breath, your mind settling and your fortitude returning.
"If you had just backed off when I said no the first dozen times, maybe you didn't have to find out!"
"Oh, come off it. You like the chase. You get off on guys trailing after you-"
"You're the only fucking one, Matt!" you yelled, no longer caring who was looking. "We hooked up once, years ago, and you just can't take the hint! I'm not interested!"
His eyes clouded with disbelief as he propped his hands on his hips and shifted his weight to one foot, standing there as if he were somehow new to being shot down.
"I'm telling Charlotte about this. About your little..." he trailed off and gestured vaguely over your shoulder, "guard dog. I'm sure she will love to hear about one of your profiles assaulting an employee."
You crossed your arms defiantly and made a face. "Oh, yeah? Do that and I'll recommend to HR they give you a drug test."
His face paled for a moment but he tried to hide it. "Drugs? I'm not on drugs."
"Oh, so you're telling me your balls are just naturally that shriveled up and small? Because, shit," you laughed, "if it's not steroids, you might want to see a doctor about that. That's not normal."
Matt swallowed tightly and clamped his mouth shut. You smiled and turned around to Marcus, who had been listening to your entire argument and probably understanding less than half of it.
"Let's go."
You tugged on his arm and he obediently followed, leaving Matt to lick his wounds.
"Your work - the building is the other way."
"I know," you said, raising your arm to hail a cab. "I'll figure something out. We're going home."
Marcus watched as you paced around your kitchen, phone pressed against your ear as you spoke to your boss and faked a sudden illness that included the word cramps. When you finished up, you looked over at him from across the room.
He looked so normal now. Sure, he spoke a little strangely but without his tunic, clad in khakis and a polo shirt, he looked like he fit right in. Like he always belonged right there.
"I don't think I even thanked you," you said. Marcus smiled and shrugged.
"No need."
He was so damn adorable, it was killing you. "I've never met anyone like you before," you confessed, leaning a hip against the edge of your counter.
"In a good way, I hope?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. You giggled and nodded, the sound making his heart soar.
"Yes, in a good way."
He brought his hand up to smooth over his mouth nervously and your stomach dropped.
"Oh, my god! Your hands!" you exclaimed, crossing the room to snatch one of his massive hands within both of yours.
"It is alright, there is no-"
"Come on, let me clean up your knuckles at least," you said, pulling him towards your tiny bathroom, which somehow felt even smaller when you were both crowding the space. "Sit here," you told him, pointing towards the closed toilet seat, "I have some stuff somewhere," you muttered under your breath as you rifled through the medicine cabinet behind your mirror, then tugged open the drawer in the vanity that always stuck. Marcus did as he was told and watched you with amusement dancing in his eyes.
"Ah ha!" you announced victoriously when you held up a bottle of clear liquid and a box of bandages. He smiled as you washed your hands before meticulously laying everything out you would need. Picking up a cotton ball, you doused it with the liquid and turned to him, having little choice but to stand between his knees and lifting one of his hands to look at it closer.
He splayed his hand out flat, palm pressing against your palm while you carefully dabbed at the dried blood.
"You have laid with that man before?" he asked out of the blue. Your cheeks felt warm when you nodded and avoided his eye.
"A long time ago. It was a mistake."
He didn't say anything else for a few minutes, just watched as you tenderly cared for his broken skin, your proximity and touch overwhelming his senses.
"Did he mistreat you?"
Quickly, you shook your head. "Oh god, no, nothing like that," you told him. "It just... wasn't a good fit."
Marcus couldn't stop staring at the soft slopes of your face and the bright sparkle in your irises, growing infatuated with the way your brow scrunched together in concentration while you worked.
"Did he not worship you?" he asked softly, watching as your breath hitched and you swallowed the lump in your throat.
"Uh, no," you finally said, setting down the cotton ball in favor of a tube with some salve. You squeezed a small dot onto your finger and began to apply it carefully to his knuckles. "Can't say there's been a lot of worshipping happening in my life," you added with a dry chuckle.
"No?"
You shook your head and wiped your finger with a tissue and tried not to let his injured hand that had fallen to your hip distract you.
"No," you whispered, your shaky voice betraying you.
He tsked and brought his other hand up to your hip, slowly splaying his fingers wide and crumpling the fabric of your dress. "Shameful. You deserve to be worshipped."
All of the air rushed from your lungs, your body thrumming with desire. Marcus noticed the fine hairs on your arms raise when goosebumps flashed across your skin and he delicately picked up your hand, flipping it over so he could press a kiss against the inside of your wrist.
His deep brown eyes met yours and with his lips still brushing against your skin, whispered, "Will you allow me to worship you?"
You found yourself nodding before your voice had a chance to catch up with you, then his hands gently cupped your face and pulled you down to his level. The moment your lips finally met, you forgot how to breathe, how to move, how to think. His lips were so unexpectedly soft and tender as they slowly massaged against your own that it sent you into a tailspin.
You pressed your mouth against his with a little more force, the fear that he may just stop at one kiss gripping your throat and driving you forward. He made a soft, surprised noise in the back of his throat when you began to kiss him with more intensity, but he didn't skip a beat. He tightened his hold on your face, fingers dimpling your cheeks and his nose bumping lightly against yours.
Your hands pressed against his chest, then your fingers curled to grip his shirt, wanting to tug him closer, wanting to feel him everywhere but you were still in your stupid fucking tiny bathroom and it was difficult to maneuver. Seemingly anticipating your next move, you felt Marcus stand. Your head tipped back, neck craned upwards at an impossible angle, refusing to break the kiss even for a moment so he began to carefully walk you backwards towards the door. Every step towards your bedroom felt like you were walking deeper and deeper into the sea, drowning in his overwhelming presence and touch.
Marcus's palm slid over your shoulder, down your arm and only stopping when he found your ribs. He wound his arm around you as you both stumbled through your doorway with as little grace as you would expect from two people growing more and more intertwined by the moment.
Once you felt your mattress pressing into the backs of your knees, you released your death grip on his shirt so you could reach behind you and unzip your dress. The cool air washed over your bare skin when it pooled around your feet and suddenly, you felt extremely exposed. What kinds of women was he used to being with? It felt like every day when you went into work you learned something new that men found desirable in women. How could you possibly be expected to keep up in the modern world, let alone with what Marcus might find appealing?
But when his palm reconnected with your middle and he felt your smooth skin under his hand, he grew desperate for more to the point where you could sense it, pushing your insecurities to the back of your mind. His injured hand left your cheek so he could glide both massive hands over the soft swell of your curves, his fingers twitching as he sought out more of your skin but when he came in contact with your bra, his hands stopped.
You could feel his hesitation by the way his lips stalled against yours so you took his hands and wrapped them around your back, wordlessly guiding him to the clasp as your tongue slid inside his mouth.
He figured out the hooks on your bra after only one or two fumbles and it dropped to the floor to join your dress.
"Fuck," he whispered when he finally managed to pull away to admire your nearly naked body. Your eyes widened with surprise.
"I don't think I've heard you curse before."
He inhaled a ragged breath, his eyes still drinking you in when he murmured, "I did not have a reason to before now."
He gently grazed over your breast, barely even touching you while he watched with fascination as your nipple tightened from the brief contact. "You have stirred something within me," he said softly, his eyes and hands continuing to roam. "Something I believed did not exist for a long time."
You leaned into his touch when he cupped your breast, enraptured with how soft you felt under his hand. Your fingers curled around the waistband of his khakis, sliding your nails across his lower stomach, across the coarse hair you very much wished to see while his mouth descended on your throat. His beard tickled the spot below your ear and it sent a shudder down your spine. His lips curved into a smile against your skin at the involuntary movement and he asked, "What else do you like?"
It was becoming difficult to breathe. The way he was so slow and careful yet sure of himself was unlike anything you had ever experienced before with a man. It was making your knees weak and your head swim.
When it took too long for you to answer his question, he lightly pinched your skin between your teeth, causing warmth to bloom just underneath the mark.
"T-touch me," you stammered, your eyes sliding closed and your head tipping back, surrendering yourself completely to his prowess.
His hand slipped down your body, over your stomach and underneath your panties. You gasped sharply when you felt one thick finger part your folds, sliding over your clit and dipping into your entrance, drenching him with your arousal.
"Lay down for me," he whispered in your ear while wrapping his free arm around your back, holding you steady so you didn't collapse from the torture of his singular finger working in and out.
He laid you down carefully in your bed, his hand never losing its rhythm and his mouth still ghosting over your neck and chest.
You whined and bucked your hips under him, fingers getting tangled in his thick curls while he whispered words of adoration into your skin, imprinting himself on you forever.
He could feel you growing rigid, your muscles tense and your exhale coming in short bursts. He brushed his lips over yours at the same time his thumb grazed over your clit, making your jaw drop and a sob erupt from your throat.
"Relax," he murmured, increasing the speed of his wrist while slowly sliding his tongue alongside yours. "Relax and let go for me, cor mea," he said against your mouth.
Your body convulsed beneath him when he brought you to your climax with just one finger. His mouth locked over yours, swallowing down your cries and allowing them to feed his ever growing desire. When you whimpered and lightly pushed his hand away, he withdrew from between your legs but continued to deepen the kiss. It was so sweet and loving that it sent you reeling, wondering how you would ever find satisfaction from another man again after Marcus.
"Take these off," you breathed, tugging on his belt loops. He reared back to sit on his heels while deftly undoing the button and zipper of his khakis, leaving them gaping open at his waist before yanking his polo shirt over his head and tossing it onto the floor. You bit your lip, admiring his bare chest for the first time while he pushed his pants down and kicked them off.
"Christ," you muttered, eyes trailing over his tanned and scarred skin. You reached out and traced a particularly jagged one on his shoulder but he was more focused on ridding you of your underwear. If you ever questioned the validity of his time traveling story, any doubt was erased from your mind when you saw his body.
"Did these hurt?"
He paused and followed your gaze to his marked up torso.
"Some, at the time, yes."
Your expression softened to one of pity as you continued to scan his body, losing count of the shiny, pale scars.
"W-what... how did these..." you trailed off, unable to keep the emotion from your voice. Marcus cupped your cheek and pressed a kiss against your lips.
"It is alright. I have been in many battles. It is my job, and just like yours, I must do it."
You laughed but you didn't really find it funny. "You risk your life every day while I write about best places to take a first date or what to do if you're faking orgasms with your boyfriend. You can't compare the two."
Marcus cocked an eyebrow as he hovered above you. "And do you have much experience faking orgasms?"
You felt your face flush. You knew he was just trying to distract you, but it was working. "Some."
He leaned down and kissed the tip of your nose, then each one of your eyelids before asking, "But not a moment ago?"
You shook your head and raked your fingers through his hair, making him growl at the sensation of your nails across his scalp. While he focused on positioning himself at your opening, you dragged your mouth over his shoulder, tongue dipping to trace over his scar. You couldn't do anything about them now except show them love, something you were realizing Marcus was desperately lacking in his life back home.
Home. The thought entered your brain right when he first pushed inside you, stealing the air from your lungs and bringing tears to your eyes. You did your best to brush it aside and focus on the present, like the way he stretched you open or the soft noise he made when he fully sheathed his heavy length deep within you.
"Fuck," you gasped, clawing at his shoulders while you tried to get your bearings.
He released a groan so guttural and deep it had you squeezing around him. Your mouth found a home on his neck as he slowly began to rock his hips, your lips and teeth leaving temporary marks over his skin to join the scars. Every kiss was slow, every touch was attentive and it was hard to stop yourself from giving into him.
"You - oh," he moaned, eyes sliding shut as he lost himself in the moment. It might have been the first time you'd seen him ever falter, and the thought sent a fresh wave of arousal through you. "You are so soft and beautiful," he mumbled before finding your mouth once again and plunging his tongue past your teeth. "I fear it is almost too much for me to bear," he confessed between kisses.
Marcus was unlike any man you had ever met in so many ways. His vulnerability staggered you. Most men you had known would consider it weak or embarrassing to speak the way he spoke, but Marcus managed to do it without sacrificing an ounce of his raw masculinity.
His broad shoulders and thick arms caged you in, giving you a feeling of safety and security you never felt before with another person. It was always you who had to be strong, who had to figure everything out and be responsible. And for once, with Marcus, it felt like you could let go and not have to worry.
Your body relaxed beneath him, legs spreading even wider to accommodate his powerful thrusts. He pulled an arm out from underneath you to press down on your thigh, pushing it into the mattress next to you in order to open your hips up even more. Then he leaned up just a fraction so he could grind his hips against you with his new found space, drawing a shaky moan from your throat when he came in contact with your clit.
Marcus paid attention. He took note of what you liked, what made you writhe and gasp and he teased you with it until you were begging him for more. He couldn't deny you, so he gave you what you asked. When you whined for him to go faster, he did. When you begged him to touch you, he did. He gave you everything you asked for until your legs trembled and your breath quickened and you were tossing your head back into your pillow, his name on your lips as you fell apart for him.
Then you gazed up at him, eyes smoldering, your lips swollen and parted and looking more beautiful and satisfied than he ever could imagine. Pulling him down to you by the back of his neck, you whispered his name in his ear and he shuddered, his hips faltering for a moment all because of one simple word from your lips.
"Marcus," you whispered again, mouth sucking a bruise into his neck. "Are you going to come for me?"
"Yes," he groaned, his eyes fluttering shut as he neared his peak. A lazy smile spread across your face, body still flooding with pleasure as he fucked you a little harder seeking his own.
His hand fell to your side, pulling you closer, rolling your hips in rhythm with his, and with his teeth bared and eyes flashing with hunger, he came with a broken groan that sent a shiver down your spine. You gasped at the feeling of him emptying himself inside you, eyes squeezing shut in ecstasy. His mouth crashed over yours with your eyes still closed. Your tongues danced together, first with lust, then once your heart rates slowed and your skin stopped tingling, with something more. Something like longing and desperation to hold onto the moment as long as you possibly could.
You both spent a little too long sharing tender kisses and gentle touches. For once, the world around you ceased to make noise and the only thing that mattered was what to order for dinner so you didn't have to leave your bed the rest of the night. You picked Mediterranean food and spent the hour after it was delivered discussing how it compared to the food he was used to, neither of you daring to mention the elephant in the room.
You curled up into his side, his arm draped around you, his back leaning against your headboard as you watched a romantic comedy together. Just as you were explaining the plot and how you had used the movie as inspiration for an article the year prior, a breakthrough was happening in Queens.
The volume on your phone was off and neither of you were paying attention to it lighting up on your nightstand, too busy ignoring the movie in favor of fusing your lips together again with your limbs slowly tangling together under the covers to notice the text come through.
Danny: staying in Queens for the night, we're on a roll. The mighty General shall be out of your hair b4 you know it.

Shamefully flushed, you stole a moment away to compose yourself.
The boys always had a way of working you up and getting underneath your skin.
“You okay, Angel?” your husband questioned with curious intent as he joined you in the kitchen.
You hummed in response, pursing your lips. “Mm-hmm. Why wouldn’t I be?”
Ronnie’s shoulders shrugged. “You look tense.” His gaze locked on you as he leaned against the kitchen counter. “You know we're only joking, right?”
“I know,” you replied quickly, avoiding eye contact as you created work for your idle hands.
You never had an issue with their teasing. The boys had done it for as long as you could remember, but you’d be lying if you didn’t acknowledge that it ignited a particular unspeakable response in you - a response you’d never dare act upon...
Before you knew it, Ronnie’s strong arms wrapped around your waist, encircling your body in his as he stood behind you, nestling his chin against your neck.
“You like it, don’t you?” he prompted, breathing the question hot against your neck as he nipped at the skin slightly. “Don’t think I didn’t notice how your breath hitched and your skin grew hot when sitting between Paul and me.”
Your body froze.
“Admit it. You want it. Both of us."
You pulled back, eyes wide. “Ronnie. He’s your best friend.”
“Exactly. He doesn’t threaten me,” Ronnie reassured, his face deadpan. “Plus, he looks just like me, and doesn’t that turn you on? The thought of two of me fucking you?”
Nervously, you chewed on your bottom lip, lost in your thoughts as you considered the possibility. Paul Sevier was your close friend, the best man at your wedding, and was indeed the doppelganger of your husband.
Of course, the thought had crossed your mind on occasion, but it was a mere fantasy, not something you ever felt compelled to make reality and certainly not something you ever expected Ronnie to suggest.
“Are you being serious?”
“You don’t have to. It’s just an idea,” Ronnie clarified. “But yes, I’m serious.”
Your mouth twisted before settling into a smirk. “Okay, I’m interested.”
Ronnie cocked his head, grinning as he embraced you. “So, you think you can handle us both?” he whispered, his eyes narrowing. “My greedy girl.”
Your hands caressed the small of his back as you glanced up at him. “And what makes you think Paul would be interested?”
“Well, you know there’s a reason he’s not found anyone,” Ronnie divulged. “He’s hung up on a certain someone… ”
“Oh,” you mouthed, the realization dawning on your face. “So, Paul gets what he wants, and I get to fulfill my fantasy, but what do you get from this?”
“A happy wife and a live-action porno,” Ronnie smiled. “It’ll be just like watching myself fuck you, and, plus, what better birthday gift could we give Paul than a taste?”
Without further ado, you both made your way into the lounge, singing ‘Happy Birthday’ loudly as Paul shifted in his seat and tittered with unease. His eyes grew uncontrollably wide, and his pupils dilated as he swallowed the lump in his throat, watching in nervous disbelief as you kneeled before him, birthday cake in hand.
“Make-a-wish,” you prompted with a devilish grin as Ronnie watched from the threshold.
Doing as told, Paul closed his eyes momentarily and blew the candles out. “Thank you,” he smiled, glancing at you briefly before averting his gaze towards the cake. “Did you make this yourself?”
You nodded. “Red velvet with vanilla frosting. Your favorite, right?”
“Yeah, it looks great. I can’t wait to taste it.”
“She tastes better,” Ronnie murmured from across the room, catching Paul’s attention as he approached. “You should take a bite.”
“Excuse me?”
You sat back on your heels, seductively running a finger through stray frosting as Ronnie crouched beside you.
“Paul, you know I love her more than anything in the world,” Ronnie began. “And, I don’t make this decision lightly, but there’s no one else I trust to do this with.”
“Do what?” Paul asked, watching wide-eyed and slack-jawed as Ronnie took your frosted coated fingers into his mouth.
“What Ronnie’s trying to say… ” you purred as his tongue swirled around your fingers, sucking gently. “...is that we’d like you to join us in the bedroom.”
Paul’s body stiffened at the suggestion as he swallowed dryly, unable to wet his parched throat. “What?” he croaked in disbelief. “Are you sure?”
Ronnie’s mouth left your fingers with wet ‘pop.’ “One rule,” he declared. “Her cunt is mine, and mine alone. Isn’t that right, Angel?”
You nodded in agreement. “Only my husband gets to fuck my pussy,” you affirmed, causing Ronnie to pull your body against his, claiming your mouth with a voracious hunger as Paul watched on helplessly.
“Such a good girl,” Ronnie groaned, pulling away breathless. “Now, go and see the Birthday boy.”
You licked your lips, swiping another fingerful of frosting before placing the cake on the coffee table and rising to your feet.
Paul’s chest rose and fell with rapid breaths as he watched you approach him. He kept his features deceptively composed as his mouth parted from the sight of you. Pretty and eager and all for him - a Birthday wish come true.
“Would you like a taste, Paul?” you questioned, displaying the frosting on your fingertips as you moved to place your knees on either side of his body, straddling him.
He nodded greedily, leaning back in his seat. “Please.”
You flashed a coy smile and ran a finger of frosting over his lower lip before swiftly leaning forward and sucking it off keenly as if you were famished. In all honesty, you had expected to feel more anxious, more timid, but there was something about Paul that made you feel at ease.
Perhaps it was his uncanny resemblance to your husband? Still, as your tongue licked at the seam of Paul’s mouth, forcing an entry effortlessly, you wondered how far their similarities would continue in the bedroom.
Deepening the kiss, Paul’s hands groped your pert ass and forcefully pulled you against him. The growing erection beneath you communicating his exact desires as he snaked his tongue into your mouth, and for a brief moment, you lost yourselves in one another.
“Do you like that, Angel?” Ronnie questioned from behind, reminding you of his presence as he brushed the hair from the back of your neck and placed hot, all-consuming kisses against your skin.
“Mm-hmm,” you murmured as you arched your back, pulling away from Paul’s kiss as you began to stimulate both men simultaneously. “I want you both… badly.”
You rocked your hips firmly against the restricted bulge in Paul’s pants as your hand reached behind you and rubbed at Ronnie’s growing erection, causing a chorus of male moans to engulf the room.
“Paul. Don’t be a fucking tease.” Ronnie berated with jagged breath as he began to remove his clothing. “Take her dress off.”
Without hesitation, Paul delicately worked to remove the thin fabric from your body as your head loled backward against your husband’s chest. You moaned softly as Ronnie sucked bruising marks of ownership against your skin.
“Fuck. You’re so, so, ex...exquisite,” Paul stammered as he gazed at your lingerie-clad body before blowing his cheeks out with a heavy breath to compose himself. You were everything he had ever wanted.
“Don’t be shy, Paul,” you whispered against his ear seductively as your hand reached past the opening of his mustard-colored shirt, touching his warm skin. “Have your way with me.”
Paul shot a hopeful glance toward Ronnie, seeking approval from his best friend before continuing. “Are you sure this is okay? She is your wife, after all.”
“Just remember that fact, and you’ll be fine,” Ronnie warned as he worked to free your breasts from the confines of your bra, causing you to shudder with excitement. “And, this is what you want, Angel?”
You nodded. “Please.”
The magnitude of varying sensations enraptured your mind, body, and soul as Ronnie’s hands molded around the swell of your tits, teasing your nipples into taut peaks with his fingertips before relinquishing his hold and sitting back on his heels.
“She’s all yours, friend.”
A flush of anticipation flooded your senses as Paul’s eyes flickered with a burning desire, and in one swift, unexpected motion, you found yourself on your back.
“I always knew you were an insatiable little slut,” Paul taunted, grasping your wrists in one hand, leaving you powerless as he held them above your head. “So desperate to please your husband. It’s almost pathetic.”
You couldn’t stop the whimper that escaped your lips as Paul looked down at you, his body on top of yours. The change in his demeanor unanticipated but welcomed.
“Tell me. Does she follow instructions, Ronnie? Or do we have to force her?”
“If she wants to come, she’ll do as she’s told.”
Paul smirked from the intel. His gaze meeting yours through the thin frames of his spectacles as he let go of your wrists. “Now, be a good little slut and get my cock out.”
You licked your lips and eagerly began unbuckling Paul’s belt, dragging his pants down to mid-thigh before slipping your fingers under the waistband of his boxers and allowing his heavy cock to bob free.
Instantly, your eyes grew lustful. Long, thick, flushed, and already dripping with pre-cum, you were almost disappointed you wouldn’t get to experience Paul’s fat cock in your pussy.
“Suck it,” Ronnie directed, his voice low in his throat. His breathy instruction caused you to glance over at him, your lips parting at the view.
You watched with hungry eyes as your husband stroked his length, slowly working his fist under his swollen head as the veins on his shaft bulged and shifted with every gentle upstroke.
“Eyes on me, Sweetheart,” Paul snarled as his free hand grasped at your jaw, forcing your attention toward him, your pupils dilating at the sight of his naked body.
Your breath hitched, and a sudden flush of warmth spread from between your legs as you parted your lips and took Paul into your mouth. The saltiness of his pre-cum filled your senses immediately as your tongue danced around the fleshy tip of his head, lapping it up gladly.
The taste of him was different. Not worse, nor better, just unfamiliar. Ronnie was without a doubt sweeter, but your mouth only grew wetter from the small appetizer Paul’s pre-ejaculate gave.
“Go on, Angel,” Ronnie grunted with encouragement. “Gag on his cock. Show him how good you are.”
You knew better than to glance at your husband, but you could feel his gaze on you, watching intently as your lips strained to wrap around another man's throbbing erection. You knew Ronnie was observing with bated breath as the scene unfolded before him, imagining the soft glide of your lips around his shaft as he worked his length.
Fluttering your eyelashes, you looked up at Paul as you enveloped him into the heat of your mouth. Slowly, you started to drag your lips up and down his length, pulling a strangled moan from his chest as you hummed happily around him.
You weren’t sure if it was Paul’s cock in your mouth of the thought of Ronnie fucking himself beside you, but you couldn’t help but rub your thighs together, desperate to create some friction to soothe the constant pulsing between your legs.
“Ffff-fuck. You were made for this, weren’t you?” Paul rasped as he raked a hand through your hair, watching with a hooded gaze as he thrust himself into your mouth. “You like sucking my cock, don’t you? Dirty slut.”
You moaned around him, signaling your agreement as spit pooled at the corners of your mouth. With that, Paul quickened his pace, fucking your throat in earnest as you greedily sucked, slurped, and gagged on his cock.
His breath grew thin and ragged as you hollowed your cheeks and tightened the hold around him, the vacuum-like sensation causing his member to twitch against your tongue.
“Oh. Oh, f-fuckk,” Paul stammered, his head falling back as his eyes fluttered closed. “I’m, I’m-a cum.”
The sound of sharp stuttered gasps and grunts escaped his lips as a gush of hot cum hit the back of your throat, a stifled yell tearing from his chest as you greedily swallowed the salty mix down.
Pleased with yourself, you smirked as Paul pulled his sensitive cock from your mouth before glancing over at your husband.
“Oh, Ronnie,” you cooed, gazing at him with doe-eyes as he continued to slide his hand up and down his shaft. “Look at you. Look at your big cock. I wanna taste you too.”
Ronnie’s eyes widened, his face softening. “Yy-yeah?” He questioned hopefully.
“Yeah,” you purred with a loving smile as Ronnie approached.
“Christ. You really are a cum-hungry-slut,” Paul scoffed. “Is she always like this?”
“O-ooh-oh, yeah… “ Ronnie stammered between grunts as your sultry lips wrapped around his aching cock. “... Fff-filthy whore likes getting fucked in police cruisers and hotel balconies. Always so… fucking... insatiable."
Paul groaned at the information, a mixture of jealousy and disbelief overwhelming him as he evaluated the challenges of your carnal desires. “Hmm,” he pondered. “Let’s see how many times we can make this greedy whore cum, Ronnie.”
His words caused you to moan around your husband’s cock. The threat of infinite orgasms a tantalizing prospect as Paul began to move down your body. He was determined to demonstrate his abilities and show you everything you had been missing out on as he placed rough, hungry kisses upon your inner thighs.
His touch was cruel but painfully enticing as he moved towards your core, rubbing teasingly at your clothed pussy. Your needy whimpers were muffled by Ronnie as he fucked himself rhythmically into your mouth. The vibration of each of your moans around his cock was just enough to push him over the edge as his hips canted forward.
“Aghhh-fuuuck-g-good wife,” Ronnie gasped, carefully wrapping a hand around the back of your head as he spilled himself down your throat. His thrust stuttered as he watched with satisfaction as you gladly swallowed him down before removing his spent member from the warmth of your mouth.
“Love you,” you murmured with a coy smile as Ronnie knelt beside you, his breaths slowing as he kissed your lips tenderly.
“Dirty cum-dumpster,” Paul rasped, causing you to quiver from the heat of his breath against your folds as he tauntingly pulled tight at the material of your panties.
You let out a whine and bucked your hips toward him as a yearning tore through your body. “Please, Paul,” you begged. You were helpless and frustrated; you needed your release.
“So desperate,” he taunted as he slowly removed your underwear.
Your skin grew hot and feverish from the vulnerability before a surprised yelp escaped you. Paul grabbed at your legs and ruthlessly spread you wide open, just for him. He paused for a moment and marveled at the sight of your dripping pussy before dancing a finger along your folds, gathering your slick.
“That pretty little cunt of yours is so warm and wet,” Paul remarked, causing a pleasured ache to flood through you.
“Do the two of us really make you that excited, Angel?” Ronnie questioned with bright, curious eyes as he stroked at your hair affectionately.
You bit your lip and nodded, your eyes pleading up at your husband. “Please, Ronnie,” you mewled. “I wanna come. Tell him how I like it, please.”
Before Ronnie had a chance to respond, you let out a high-pitched cry as Paul spread your pussy lips apart and spat on the throbbing nub of your clitoris. Your body convulsed from the sensation, the blood rushing to your core as Paul lowered his head and licked at your spread cunt with his warm tongue.
“Fucck!” you shrieked, arching your back in response as your eyes glanced down at the broad expanse of Paul’s chest between your legs.
“You like that, cumslut?”
“Yy-yess!” you gasped, overwhelmed by Paul’s insatiable hunger for information.
“What about this?”
Paul’s eyes watched your body intently as he pushed two fingers at your entrance, exploring with a curious fascination. You sucked in the air sharply; your slicked cunt squelching around his digits as he pumped into you. Captivated, he noted how each twist and turn of his hand caused a different reaction from you, both internally and externally.
You were lost in a wave of euphoria as a series of large, strong hands roamed over your body. You had never felt so desired; as Paul massaged your inner walls, Ronnie placed lusty kisses against your neck and palmed at your breasts, causing soft moans to escape you.
“God, I love hearing you enjoy yourself,” Ronnie murmured, flicking his tongue over one of your sensitive nipples, your body shuddering. “It feels so good, doesn’t it?”
You moaned in agreement, your hips jerking forward as Paul’s fingers curled upwards to grate against your g-spot, the sensation creating a fire in your abdomen.
“Ronnie,” Paul exasperated. “She needs restraining. I can’t get her off if she keeps moving.”
A refrained chuckle escaped Ronnie. “I have just the thing.” He smiled and gently pressed his lips against your forehead before leaving the room momentarily.
You exhaled deeply, a flush of anticipation overcoming you as Paul crawled up your body, placing hot kisses against your stomach and tits as he went.
You were so lustful that you couldn’t stop yourself from bucking against his erection. He was, so, so close to your entrance; you both knew that one roll of his hips, one quick thrust, and he’d be buried deep in your cunt - the one sexual act forbidden between you both.
“Look at you, grinding against me,” Paul breathed against your neck, brushing the hair from your ear. “You’re really desperate for it, aren’t you?”
Your body stiffened; you knew he wasn’t wrong. “W-we can’t,” you stuttered nervously—the sound of Ronnie returning, catching both of your attention.
“Hmm. Well, let’s show your husband how to really make you cum,“ Paul whispered with a smirk, your eyes widening in disbelief. “And remember, don’t scream my name too loudly... we wouldn’t want to upset that ego of his.”
With that, Paul returned to your cunt, his dark hair falling in front of his eyes as the sudden warmth of his plush lips on your folds forced a choked gasp to escape you. He darted his tongue at your entrance before dragging up, his nose grazing your clit on the way as he licked meticulous circles against your sensitive bud.
“Wrists,” Ronnie prompted with a suggestive grin - cuffs and lube in hand.
You shook your head, eyes pleading upward. “No, Ronnie. Please. I promise I’ll be good and stay still,” you implored, your legs shaking from Paul’s continued attention; you were getting close. “I-I wanna be able to touch you both.”
Ronnie cocked his head in consideration, his brows furrowing from behind his horn-rimmed glasses - you were always his weakness. “Fine, but you’ve gotta control yourself.”
You nodded in response, drawing your lower lip between your teeth in an attempt to restrain your movements, but Paul’s hands and mouth were relentless. The pressure of his tongue, the suction of his lips, the rhythm of his fingers as they penetrated your core created an overwhelming experience.
All of that mixed with Ronnie’s touch caused a coiling tension in your stomach; you couldn’t stop yourself from writhing as the pressure inside of you built.
“Paul, I-”
Your eyes squeezed tight as you leaned against Ronnie’s chest, your hand gripping his in support. You felt your toes curl and a shiver travel up your spine as your hips started to buck against Paul’s face, your breath coming in sharp pants.
“Aah fffuck…Paul, I-”
“That’s it, almost there,” Paul drawled, replacing his tongue with his thumb as he rubbed at your throbbing clit. His eyes mesmerized by your sweet little hole as it started to clamp around his fingers, watching with glee as you began to crumble from his handiwork.
Your hips stuttered, your vision blurred, your nails penetrated the skin on Ronnie’s hand before you let go completely. Your whole body shook. Every exhale was a sob as the force of your orgasm flash-flooded your senses. You felt something cataclysmic burst inside of you, a sensation you’d never felt before.
“Oh, yes! Good fucking girl,” Paul shouted in astonishment, his glasses askew on his flushed face as your cunt gushed, squirting clear liquid against his hand.
“What?... Are you?... Did he?!” Ronnie gasped, amazed and envious at the sight of you squirting. It was something he hadn’t been able to achieve yet. “… How?!” He demanded, glaring at Paul.
“Angles, Ronnie.”
You let out breathy, unrestricted murmurs of Paul’s name, too blissed out to maintain any filters between your brain and mouth as your walls continued to spasm and contract.
“Hey! She’s my wife,” Ronnie barked, jaw clenching. “You don’t get to blow her mind like that. That’s my job.”
Paul’s mouth set in a hard line as he analyzed the situation, quickly discerning the issue. “Oh. You mean, you haven’t?” he questioned, surprised. “Have you not? Really?”
You sat up and looked between the two men, sensing the tense atmosphere as your husband pursed his lips in frustration. “Ronnie… “ you purred, reaching your arm out toward him. “Come here.”
He drew in a long, exasperated breath and sat beside you. His body stiffened as you climbed on top of him, pressing soft kisses against his jaw. “Maybe this was a bad idea,” Ronnie whispered, discouraged, his shoulders slouching.
“No,” you reassured before glancing at Paul and signaling him to move closer. “Best friends help each other out. Isn’t that right, Paul?”
“Of course.”
With the boys sat beside each other, you shifted to straddle a thigh of each of them. “I love you,” you cooed at Ronnie, dispelling his fears as you sucked on his bottom lip before removing his glasses. “And, I like you,” you purred towards Paul, melting your lips against his as you removed his spectacles too. “My gorgeous boys.”
A shudder of pleasure surged throughout your body as you rocked your cunt against their thighs. The friction pulling a mewl from your chest as each of the boys fondled your breasts. They tweaked your pebbled flesh with their fingertips as their mouths kissed and sucked various locations on your body.
“Our beautiful girl,” they murmured in sync as you closed your eyes and moaned. The sensation of their touch filled you with an urgent lust. You were in seventh heaven and getting so, so desperate for the two of them.
“Please, I can’t take it anymore,” you cried. “I need you both inside of me.”
They turned to face each other, their brown eyes lighting up with excitement before gazing back at you. “Do you think you can take us both?” Ronnie questioned.
“Wouldn’t you like to find out...” you tempted with a seductive wink as you clambered off of them and swiped the bottle of lube from the coffee table—your husband and his best friend hot on your heels as you headed towards the bedroom.
In one swift, harsh movement, you found yourself head down, ass up, and hands cuffed behind your back. “You like being used by the two of us?” Ronnie taunted.
“She’s a cock-craving slut,” Paul chastised, marveling at the pucker of your ass as he spread your cheeks wide and inserted two lubed fingers into your tight entrance.
You whined as a thudding pressure rocketed through your passage, your body jerking forward from the sensation of the cool, silky gel. You felt entirely exposed, all their attention focussed on you and the tight pucker of your ass as it yielded to the intrusion of Paul’s digits.
“Such a pretty hole,” Ronnie admired. “Are you gonna be a good little fucktoy and let Paul destroy your ass while I fuck your pussy?”
“Please. Please, I’ll beg, I’ll do anything you wan-”
You were interrupted by the sharp, stinging strike of a hand on the soft flesh of your backside; your words replaced by a yelp as your eyes welled, uncertain whose hand delivered the smack.
“Be patient, whore. I’m not going to fuck you dry, no matter how much you beg,” Paul hissed before directing Ronnie toward your front. “Shut her up with your cock or something while I finish prepping her.”
Your husband’s heavenly whiskey-colored eyes gazed down at your restricted body. “You’re so beautiful when you’re all flushed and wanting.”
You were convinced you could lose yourself in his adoring eyes - lose yourself in him. He was your world, and you were going to be, oh, so good for him as he slowly guided his cock into the heat of your mouth.
Your tongue swirled around his head, sucking desperate breaths through your nostrils as your pussy cried out for him, yearning for the fat stretch of his cock.
“You ready?” Paul questioned as your body tensed slightly at the feel of the cold lube against your crack as he nudged the tip of his member at your aching hole.
You bobbed your head against Ronnie’s cock, conveying your desire and need to be filled as you pushed backward.
“Easy. I don’t want to hurt you,” Paul reassured, his familiar compassionate nature showing. “Tell me to stop if it’s too much, okay?
You hummed in acknowledgment, his considerate words alleviating all of your apprehension. You drew in a deep breath, allowing your body to relax as Paul eased himself into the sensitive cluster of nerves.
“You’re doing so well, Angel,” Ronnie praised, distracting you from the burning stretch as he watched your tight, little ass surrender to Paul’s girth. His hips bucking as your whines vibrated around his cock.
A deep grunt echoed in Paul’s chest as he continued to sink slowly into your clenched passage, his hips rolling gently when met with resistance, and eventually, you moaned out together when Paul seethed himself to the hilt.
“That’s it,” he groaned, grasping at your cuffed wrists to anchor himself as he started to gently fuck your ass. “Take it all, you greedy little fuckhole.”
The pressured penetration ignited a fire throughout your body, a needy, desperate burning that was all-consuming, and you wanted more. Your hands ached with the desire to touch and explore as they strained against the cool metal of Ronnie’s police-issued cuffs.
“You like sucking my cock, while he fucks you from behind?” Your husband grunted through thrusts as your slick, plumped lips sucked and drooled around him before popping off his length.
“I need you. I need your fat cock in my pussy,” you begged with desperation. “Fuck me until I can’t think, both of you. Please!”
Not one to deny you of your pleasured demands, Ronnie repositioned himself on the bed, leaning back against the headboard as Paul paused in his movements, panting as he pulled out and steadied himself.
“Is she on birth control?” he breathed as Ronnie freed your wrists from the constraints of his cuffs and moved you to straddle his hips.
“Yeah… for now,” Ronnie smirked knowingly, a hint of things to come as he merged his soft lips against yours and caressed your neck with his hand. “Why? Your not… “
Paul relinquished the hold on your hips and held his hands up. “No. Just ensuring the correct precautions are in place, that’s all. Her pussy is yours; I get it.”
Ronnie didn’t have a chance to respond as you suddenly brushed your dripping, wet cunt against his thick length, a whimper escaping him. “Shut up and fuck me,” you purred, lowering your mouth to his as you drew his lower lip between your teeth and tugged on it slightly.
“And aren’t you impatient,” he teased before grasping at your waist and pulling you closer. “So desperate to be filled up.”
Your breath hitched in anticipation as he pressed his hard, throbbing cock at your entrance, the sensation causing a sudden flush of warmth rushing to your core. Your body arched in response, eager for him to join his body with yours.
Then, with one hard roll of his hips, he entered your wet heat, and a collective moan filled the room, your head lolling backward in pleasure as he stretched you out. Your body rocked against his cock, easing him in and out of you slowly as you gasped for air, taking pleasure in every hot leisurely slide of him against your walls.
“You feel so fucking good,” you groaned, your thighs clenching around Ronnie as you bounced yourself on his cock, aching for more. “Fuck my ass, Paul,” you cried out. “I wanna be a dirty little slut for you.”
When you felt Paul’s expert hands spread you wide from behind and the cool, familiar gel against your skin, you began to question if your body could even handle another cock. The stretch of Ronnie was as overwhelming and heart-stopping as always; you couldn’t imagine two cocks seated deep in each orifice.
“Ready?” Paul queried before you murmured a breathy ‘yes’ in response.
He slowly pushed his girthy cock into your tight entry, watching how your body responded as he filled you up, inch by inch. You choked back the cry that was forced from your chest as Paul sheathed himself in you fully, your head resting against your husband’s chest in need of support and comfort.
"Relax, Angel. You’re doing perfectly,” Ronnie soothed, planting feather-like kisses against your temple. You were thankful that both men had paused in their movements to allow your body a moment to adjust to the stretch - you had never felt so full.
Gradually, you started to raise up Ronnie’s cock, his hands guiding you by the waist as you bobbed on his length, his fingertips digging into your soft flesh. “Mmmhm-it’s, feel s-so g-good,” you stammered, mouth agape and eyes pinched shut.
“Ride me. Slowly, that’s it,” Ronnie encouraged as Paul pumped in gentle tandem.
Growing in confidence, enjoyment, and satisfaction. You started to snap your hips with more vigor as you gyrated against Ronnie’s cock. Paul’s hands moved to grasp the back of your neck as he followed your lead, penetrating your ass in rhythm with your hips; his eyes glued on how wide he was stretching your tight, little hole as Ronnie fucked your pussy from underneath.
“Fuck. Look at you taking both our cocks,” Paul cursed loudly, thrusting his pelvis in an unrelenting tempo as you squirmed beneath him. “You’re so fucking tight.”
Your movements caused Ronnie to moan out against your skin as he bucked up into your heavenly cunt, the sound of smacking flesh surrounding the room. “You look so beautiful when being fucked by us.”
You let out a sweet whimper. They were both so deep in you that you could’ve sworn you felt them in your throat. You were overwhelmingly stuffed, but the fullness was delicious. It was intense, yet satisfying as if you were getting the best of both worlds all at once. That when Ronnie snaked a hand between your bodies, brushing delicately against your clit you almost combusted.
“Oh-my-fucking-God!” His soft, broad twirling movements tightened into swift circles, right where he knew you needed them as you felt yourself dissolve into pleasure, and Ronnie saw it. “Please! Both of you, make of cum!”
They quickened their pace, fucking your holes in a frenzied manner; all of you now desperately chasing that sweet, sweet release of undeniable pleasure.
“Jeeesus fuck. Jjj-just like that!” You wailed, your eyes rolling into the back of your head as your body began to quake; you swore you saw stars as the pressure started to build - your body being pulled tight like a bowstring.
“Cum for us, Sweetheart,” Paul grunted, his hips stuttering as he felt his impending orgasm brewing.
There was so much pressure, so much penetration and stimulation that you couldn’t stop yourself from falling apart. Unable to handle the overwhelming sensations any longer, you let go and orgasmed loudly.
You were all feverish cries and jagged moans, unsure whose name you were moaning as your pussy gushed and clenched, your silky ridges gripping and contracting against Ronnie’s cock as you rode your high.
“Ohh, fuck. I’m gonna come-!” Ronnie sputtered, sucking a sharp breath through his teeth, unable to stop himself as your walls spasmed and fluttered around his cock, milking every last drop of his seed.
Your knees began to buckle as Paul grasped hard on your hips. “Say my name,” he begged. “Tell me you love me-my, uh, cock.”
“Yes, Paul. Fuck me. Cum in my ass; I love your big cock!”
Your words sent him catapulting into his crescendo. Shattered breaths and broken grunts escaped him as he reached his climax, emptying himself inside of you before swiftly pulling out and collapsing beside you.
The room was silent as you laid between both men, all of your chests heaving as you greedily sucked in breaths. You were completely blissed out, the feeling indescribable as you came down from the most intense and mind-blowing orgasm of your life.
“That was… “ you murmured, unable to find the words as you pressed breathless kisses of gratitude against each of the boys’ lips before nestling into your husband's embrace.
“Such a good little wife,” Ronnie hummed before you both gave in to exhaustion.
And as you slept soundly in Ronnie’s arms, making it clear where your heart was aligned - Paul laid beside you wide awake, analyzing the events from earlier. He knew there was no use in denying it; he was in love with you - his best friend's wife, and there was no coming back from what had just happened.
