i've accepted that getting my mom to reduce her amazon usage is a lost cause, but apparently so is getting her to understand that a lot of people are trying to avoid using it, so you probably shouldn't give someone an amazon gift card unless you know they shop on amazon

#related: i'm the only one in this household who still wears a mask #my dad leaves me be but my mom keeps trying to convince me that it's weird to be wearing it #and i'm just like. my mom has never been a beacon of rationality. she's very gullible and very quick to conform.#she knows that i'm less gullible and not plagued by the need to fit in but if that makes her feel bad she'll act like i'm irrational #to be clear she gets a package from amazon every few days. it's usually one item per order and she reviews the deliveries #(though i think i got her to stop giving negative reviews unless they're truly egregious and not just on the wrong side of the door)
