the quest for the Cocogoat is 10/10, can i just say.

like it's literally just Qiqi: Cocogoat please Zhongli, who has never ever heard of a Cocogoat in his entire existence in Liyue: checks out, let's go.

when they fix up the Guizhong Ballista, the more Zhongli yaps the more Kaeya's like "oh, maybe i was wrong", but it's with the "we should focus on Qiqi's contract" that makes Kaeya go "oh, no, i was wrong. he IS the Geo Archon. whack."

also Lumi being a total Mom and having to sit w/ Qiqi and explain that coconut milk comes from coconuts and not a Cocogoat adepti beast??? 10/10. i love her sm, please

Patrols:

Kokichi decides to take charge on border patrol, and brings along Plumshine, Hazelbloom, and Stoatskip. Hazelbloom finds a loner, who offers their healing skills in exchange for shelter. The new medicine cat is welcomed to the clan.

Squirrelface and Stoatstalk decide to take Featherfoot with them herb gathering, Golddawn also decides to tag along. As the Mullein towers impressively over the other plants, it's a good time to harvest it. Squirrelface could swear there's usually mullein around here- but not this time.

Gracklegorse takes Haventail and Buzzardpoppy training, suggesting its a good time to practice some techniques. Unfortunately, no one steps up to teach. It's a little awkward, but the patrol disbands to attend to other duties.

With three cats working now, the medicine cats gathered a hefty amount of herbs this moon. Squirrelface gathered oak leaves and tansy, while Golddawn and Featherfoot gathered daisy and thyme respectively. Mudfur is given juniper to help treat her frostbite.

Patrols:

With Brokenspots recovered from her whitecough, Buzzardpoppy and Haventail take her out to train together. Haventail suggests they practice hunting techniques. Everyone has a nice session and new tricks under their paw to try out next hunting patrol.

The medicine cats head out together to gather herbs. The gaggle of cats stroll through BumbleClan's territory, chatting amicably amongst themselves. It's a rare opportunity, for them to all be out like this together, and though the weather is poor and not really ideal for herb-gathering, each cat plans to make the most of it. It starts pouring while they're out, and even Golddawn has to admit defeat and lead them home.

Stoatskip, Kokichi, and Stoatstalk head out for the first border patrol. They hear the sound of barking and cautiously go to investigate. Near the border, they spot a dog chasing something. A cat! The patrol jumps to action to chase the dog off, a group of cats is much more powerful than one, and they convince the dog to flee with little difficulty. They go to check on the feline, but in their adrenaline haze take a swipe at Stoatstalk before running away.

The final patrol of the moon is lead by Gracklegorse, taking Plumshine and Hazelbloom with them. The patrol catches scent of a mouse nearby. Plumshine pinpoints the location of the prey and begins creeping forward. They're almost within pouncing distance when the mouse suddenly bolts. With a lash of their tail, Plumshine leaps forward, barely snagging it before it enters it's burrow.

MOONTHISTLE. STOP FORSEEING DEMISES. YOURE SCARING ME. NOT YOUR BROTHER….

Moon 21: Leaf-bare begins

Stoatstalk itches uncomfortably, wishing his wound would just close up and heal already, but it seems to only be getting worse.

Mudfur's tail is finally gone. It was more of a relief than anything. The frostbitten flesh was already dead, so she had no issue taking it off before it fell off on it's own.

Runnelkit has gotten kittencough.

Squirrelface wishes she was as pretty as Haventail. ur bootiful to me and Stoatstalk its ok

Haventail awakes with a start. Fire. Fire was all she could remember. She rushes out of the warriors den with a start to find Buzzardpoppy and Hazelbloom at the fresh kill pile, asking what's wrong. Just a dream, the camp is safe, she's alive. Her mother and brother comfort her, and assure her that it's too cold of a season for fires.

Howlkit has a wonderful time discussing Clan happenings with Brokenspots :3

Featherfoot and Squirrelface spar in the clearing, Plumshine tries to get Golddawn to join in.

Buzzardpoppy and his sister are distracted from Mudfur's story, upsetting the elder. Haventail voices her anxieties in a way that puts off Squirrelface.

Quarter, now free of her running nose, tells Brokenspots of her old kittypet life, meaning for it to stay private. Brokenspots ends up telling another cat regardless.

Thoughts and In-Camp actions:

In the medicine den, Mudfur was given juniper. Her frostbite has healed, but she will always carry evidence of the incident on her pelt. The medicine cats also refresh their moss stock.

Golddawn applies more cobwed to Stoatstalk's injury, it will hopefully heal sooner.

Squirrelface could not find any herbs, but the older cats were able to gather some goldenrod and dandelion.

Quarter and Brokenspots eavesdrops on Gracklegorse talking to his sick kit. Runnelkit is asking who their mentor will be.

Brokenspots confindes in Quarter, asking the older cat to help keep up the warrior's good relationship with Howlkit, hoping to be chosen for the kit's mentor when the time comes. Quarter happily agrees.

Patrols:

The medicine cats head out to gather herbs, Haventail goes with them as an escort. BumbleClan can never had enough cobwebs, Squirrelface instructs the patrol, and leads them on a search for some, hoping to get more to treat her wounded mate. The medicine cat mrrps with laughter, watching Golddawn parade around with such a big bundle that her former mentor keeps colliding with things in her path she can't see. The entire patrol has gotten a wonderful haul, and it's a very pleased Squirrelface that leads them back to camp.

Gracklegrose leads border patrol, taking Plumshine, Kokichi, and Brokenspots with them. Kokichi finds a loner who offers their healing skills in exchange for shelter. She happily explains Bumbleclan, but after learning more, the loner politely declines.

Stoatskip takes Hazelbloom and Buzzardpoppy out to practice. His mate and the younger cat get into a disagreement regarding what Haventail's dream could have meant. Unable to come to a understanding, they look to Stoatskip to settle this. Stoatskip nods sympathetically, and is able to calm the cats down, convincing them to agree to disagree.

Outside of BumbleClan, Whiskers sniffs around OatClan territory curiously.

Runnelkit was unable to fight off her kittencough. BumbleClan mourns their loss. Her last moments were spent sunbathing with Quarter and Buzzardpoppy. Gracklegorse takes her to be buried.

Shortly after Runnelkit's funeral, Plumshine brings a single kit into camp, they refuse to talk about it's origins, they name them Flowerkit.

Sunstar has healed from the strain of giving birth, but the hole Runnelkit left in her heart remains.

Stoatskip finds the way Haventail acts extremely uncomfrotable. Why is everyone suddenly mean to her. be nice to her right fucking now.

Featherfoot notices Gracklegorse hasn't been taking their health all too seriously. hmm idk maybe its the MOURNING his DAUGHTER

Thoughts and In-Camp actions:

Stoatstalk is given poppy and goldenrod to treat his infected injury.

The herb stores are inspected, and the medicine cats notice some of the ragwort gone bad, and make a note to look for some. Squirrelface had gathered some lungwort, but Featherfoot and Golddawn were unable to find anything.

Kokichi eavesdrops on Haventail, and notices her daughter is a bit gloomy today.

Despite his sprain, Hazelbloom tries to set a good example for the new kit.

Outside of BumbleClan. Whiskers was almost eaten by a monster- jesus christ thank god hes ok.

From the safety of his kittypet home, Razzle watches the clouds roll by.

From StarClan, Moonthistle hopes to meet with one of the medicine cats soon.

Quarter speaks with Haventail and Buzzardpoppy at their father's request, keeping an eye that the siblings stay close in these trying times.

Patrols:

Sunstar accompanies the medicine cats for an herb gathering run. With the motley assortment of Clanmates behind her, Golddawn heads out on patrol, searching for the ever-green, ever-reliable horsetail to harvest. But her work is once again effected by her distracted mind, and the patrol returns home empty-handed and snappy with each other.

Gracklegorse leads the patrol, taking Stoatskip, Haventail, and Plumshine with him. While walking along the border, they notice an OatClan patrol renewing their scent marks up ahead. The patrol leads give a quick nod of acknowledgement when they pass.

Kokichi leads the final patrol for the moon, going hunting with her son and Brokenspots. The patrol hears distant howls and goes to investigate, the sound leads them to a coyote, scavenging from a carcass. It notices the patrol before they are able to run and lunges forward, making it clear that this food has been claimed. Brokenspots' tail is momentarily caught between the coyote's teeth before Buzzardpoppy and Kokichi retaliate and drive it off their Clanmate.

Featherfoot wonders how Howlkit is doing :(

Stoatskip is sparring with Clanmates, he also no longer has romantic ticks for Hazelbloom but still has one for Gracklegorse. Uh Oh.

Patrols:

Sunstar and Gracklegorse go hunting with Plumshine. i reset the game bc gracklegorse died the same way moonthistle did. Plumshine encounters a porcupine and narrowly avoids it whipping it's tail towards them. The patrol gives the porcupine a wide berth.

Stoatskip takes Kokichi and Buzzardpoppy with him for border patrol. They track the scent of a large dog along the edge of BumbleClan territory. Stoatskip selflessly leads the lion's share of the run they lead the dog on, exhausting himself a dangerous amount, but leading the dog far away from BumbleClan borders. His Clanmates support him on the long walk home once it's all over, their purrs mixing with Stoatskip's exhausted pants.

Haventail follows the medicine cats with them to gather herbs. As Featherfoot pads through the territory, he senses a presence join them. The connection goes away as soon as it appears god DAMN IT YALL--

Thoughts before the New Moon:

Howlkit snuggles up to her worried mother, Sunstar watching over the kit cautiously.

Featherfoot checks in on the warriors, Squirrelface is grateful for the fellow medicine cat's help. Plumshine wonders if the she-cat has gotten any prophecies.

its at this point the hyperempathy started kicking in and my motivation for the game started to die down, so like 80 years later i finally get back to the next moon. thats just what happens when u get a game abt cat death while cat death is one of the most upsetting things u can experience

Moon 24: New leaf begins anew

As Howlpaw touches noses with her mother and now mentor, she hopes she'll get to do something great for the Clan. Like chase off a fox! That'll show the Clan she's the best apprentice ever! Her brother, Yewpaw, can't sit still as he touches noses with Kokichi, swearing to become the best warrior the Clan has ever seen.

While his original sprain has healed, Haventail as gotten a stomachache, alongside Buzzardpoppy, after sharing an old fresh kill together. Yewpaw has also gotten whitecough. Yewpaw. look at me. Don't You Dare

The medicine cats were able to find a good amount of herbs the start of this moon, Squirrelface finding mullein, and the older cats gathering moss, cobwebs, goldenrod, and rosemary. Brokenspots tail is rapped up with more cobwebs, and Stoatstalk's claw-wound is treated with ragwort.

Sunstar thinks about forming an alliance. well you called at most two other Clans stinky and heckled at them so good luck w that bbgrl

Gracklegorse is unsure of what the rest of the Clan thinks of him as deputy :( naur not the old insecurities returning

After some careful thought, Quarter decided to given herself the full warrior name of Quartermoon, happily accepting that she will likely spend the rest of her life with BumbleClan.

Patrols:

Sunstar and Howlpaw go with the medicine cats to gather herbs. As newleaf brings green back to the world, Squirrelface has been anticipating the unfurling of new leaf buds on elder trees. The patrol goes to find a particular tree in a dip along the stream. Elder leaves being used to soothe sprains, while gathering them in a way that risks sprains, is truly one of StarClan's little ironies. Squirrelface shares a joke with the patrol, who all murrp in amusement, but also take it as a reminder for everyone to be careful as they strip leaves from the tree.

This precious little moment was also caught when I went back to look at camp. family...

Kokichi takes his kids out for a hunting trip. A rabbit startles the patrol while bursting out of it's cover, they rally almost instantly, and manage to corner and successfully capture the rabbit!

Gracklegorse takes the remaining warriors out to secure the border. While on their way, Staotskip notices some suspicious pawprints in the mud under the canopy. The tracks lead to a tresspassing rogue. Hazelbloom throws himself at the cat, hissing furiously, and with his partner they drive the rogue off BumbleClan territory. Gracklegorse gives them a nod of approval.

Howlpaw informs Quartermoon of Sunstar and Mudfur's argument earlier this moon, and the molly works quick to meditate the issue. The elder and leader are on stable terms once again.

Final Thoughts:

Sunstar dreads a meeting she must call later today. bbgrl whats up :(

Moon 25:

Stoatstalk's claw wound has finally healed, alongside Brokenspots tail, although the former cat ended up with a thorn in her paw after falling to a prank.

Gracklegorse complains that Flowerkit doesn't do enough around camp. Kokichi finds this behavior uncomfortable and so do I grackle he is Just a Little Boy

After scolding Flowerkit for attempting to play in the medicine den, Mudfur helps the cats sort herbs. The raspberries have gone bad, they'll have to replace them soon.

Howlpaw checks on Stoatstalk after he exits the medcine den, properly healed. He appreciates his little sisters concern.

Kokichi confines in Sunstar, worrying about being the only cat who kept their original name. Sunstar assures him that he's a respected member of the Clan, regardless of name. The two become closer after this discussion.

Flowerkit spends time at the fresh kill pile with Haventail and Buzzardpoppy, listening to the warrior siblings tell him all kinds of tales.

Yewpaw began a trivial bicker with his sister. Howlpaw asks whats wrong and discovers her brother's recent depression regarding getting sick so soon after becoming an apprentice. She promises Yewpaw that he'll become a fine warrior once he recovers.

Quartermoon assists Brokenspots in bonding with Flowerkit, the latter hoping they'll get chosen to mentor this kit instead.

Patrols:

Sunstar and Gracklegorse take Howlpaw out into the woods to practice her climbing skills. Their daughter listens carefully, and is able to practice proper tree climbing technique with no trouble. Gracklegorse praises her for being a natural learner.

The medicine cats embark on an herb gathering patrol. While padding through BumbleClan territory, Squirrelface tells Featherfoot of a dream she had where she was visited by Moonthistle, who told her visitors were coming from the sea to grow the Clan's numbers, bringing strong mists and heavy rain. Featherfoot shakes his head, unable to make sense of the dream.

Stoatstalk takes Plumshine. Stoatstalk, and Hazelbloom out on border patrol. As they approach border lines, they hear a sound coming from a nearby bush. Before Stoatskip can approach to check in, a loner emerges, 3 kits following in toe. They explain that they used to live out on something called a "boat" with Twolegs, but left after realizing they were going to have kits. She says she wishes to join BumbleClan, and the patrol leads them back to camp to talk with Sunstar, who happily agrees.

Kokichi takes her kits and Brokenspots out hunting. the patrol locates a fox scavenging a large deer fawn carcass. Kokichi leads the charge, the other three cats harrassing the fox long enough for her to deal a devastating blow to it's hindlegs, causing it to run away, it's not likely to live long after such an injury. The hunting party triumphantly brings back their spoils, this will keep the Clan fed for the rest of the moon. (the leg injury was explained a bit more squeamishly in-game kokichi what the HELL) (edited)

Fawnroot is also curious abt what Haventail's doin. She is purring loudly, hanging out in the clearing with her brother and Stoatskip, who are gossiping about Squirrelface's latest prophecy that lead to their newest Clan members.

Flowerkit is running like a whirlwind around camp, After getting her tailed pounced the other day, Quartermoon wishes the kit would play a bit more quietly.

After Yewpaw was caught almost sneaking out while sick and without a warrior, Howlpaw is spending a considerate amount of time grooming herself, embarrassed but sympathetic towards her brother's actions.

Haventail is put on kitten-sitting duty for the day while Plumshine and Shenzibat go to stretch their legs. The young she-cat struggled to prevent Flowerkit from pouncing Buzzardpoppy's tail, but the younger three are a little easier for her to manage, Poppykit talking her's ear off about how excited she is for her apprentice ceremony, despite being many moons away, and Rainkit playing with a lone stick by himself while their brother, Mistykit, refuses to eat some herbs for a minor tummyache.

Patrols:

With Yewpaw out of the medicine den, Kokichi takes him to catch up on training, Buzzardpoppy and Haventail tag along. The three focus on training the young tom on current hunting techniques. Yewpaw gets really into it, and Haventail praises him for his enthusiasm.

Stoatskip and Hazelbloom head out on a patrol together. While passing underneth the canopy, Hazelbloom notices some pawprints in the mud. The two cats find a trespassing rogue, and work together to chase the intruder off BumbleClan Territory.

The medicine cats embark to restock their herb supplies. As they walk along the Clan's territory, Golddawn tells of a dream she had the previous nice, curious if it could be a vision from StarClan. Featherfoot shakes his head, and Squirrelface can think of no proper sense in the potential vision. No herbs were found.

Sunstar and Gracklegorse head out to hunt together, as they stretch their legs with a good run and tear through the forest, Gracklegorse spots momvent out of the corner of his eye. They gleefully bounce off a tree to redirect themselves and tackle a surprised mouse. Sunstar skids to a halt, eyes shining at the catch. The two share a few laughs on their way back to camp. The final border patrol of the moon is lead by Stoatstalk, he takes Brokenspots and Plumshine with him. As they check out border lines, the trio hear a traispe of pawsteps through the territory. They discover a kittypet sniffing around, the cat hissies and bristles when they notice the patrol. Stoatstalk however calmly introduces himself, and manages to relax the kittypet with conversation. She introduces herself as Valentino, and when Stoatstalk asks if she'd like to join the clan, she agrees! Brokenspots smiles at the thought of another kittypet joining the Clan.

When Quartermoon hears of Valentino's life at sea, she happily introduces her to Shenzibat. The queen is still tired from caring for kits, but the two seem to have a good time getting to know each other.

While Haventail helps Mudfur practice her balance, Poppykit bounds over to the older cats and asks where kittens come from. the two simply share an awkward glance to one another.

Moon 27:

Hazelbloom and Stoatskip return from a hunt, but with something else instead of fresh kill. The golden tom places down a small tortieshell, while his mate explains the situation. "She was near by the Twoleg place" Stoatskip starts, "But she was pretty far from the fence, and too young to be out there on her own..." he begins to grimace. "They must have left her there.". The three medicine cats check her over, and let the warrior take her to the nursery to care for her after giving her a clean bill of health. Hazelbloom has named her Claykit.

Quartermoon...tries to convince Rainkit to run away with her???? anyway

Lungwort, thyme, and daisy is gathered the first week of this moon. As Squirrelface inspects the herb stores, she notes to her companions that they will need to gather more goldenrod soon, as the current supply has gone bad. Howlpaw is given elder leaves for her sprain.

Plumshine has TWO sunbaths, the first at the start of the week with Howlpaw and Stoatskip, the second a few days later with Yewpaw and Squirrelface.

While in the nursery for a routine check-up on the kits, Squirrelface tells Shenzibat a little more about medicine cat life, and the queen learns it's much harder than they had thought initially.

Valentino wants to spend more time with Stoatstalk!! :D

From StarClan, Moonthistle is worried about the Clan, Fawnroot is judging Featherfoot, and Runnelkit hopes they'll be remembered... okay so asplodes

Patrols:

Gracklegorce entrusts the first patrol to Plumshine, who decides to take Valentino with them to show around the territory, Kokichi and Yewpaw tag along. While on their trip to the far corners of the forest, Plumshine tries to tell the others a story to keep everyone entertained, but bushes and undergrowth block the noise of their meows, so they give up.

The three medicine cats embark to restock their herbs, Stoatstalk decides to go with them. They head to their usual elder tree to gather more leaves, it's tiring and risky work, but the leaves are gathered with little trouble and the patrol returns to store their new bounty and rest.

Brokenspots, Buzzardpoppy, and Haventail go out to train together, but before they can begin the two sibling warriors begin arguing amoungst themselves over their recent kit-sitting duties. Buzzardpoppy thinks it's pointless, that the queens should be the ones watching the kits, while his sister thinks the queen deserve a break from time to time. When they can't come to an agreement, they turn their disgruntled gaze towards Brokenspots, as if asking for her to settle things. The younger molly nods her head, agreeing that the kits can be a pawful, but asks Buzzardpoppy to imagine handling them every day like the queens do. The tom sits there for a minute, and nods his head, admiting wrong this time.

Sunstar and Gracklegorse invite Hazelbloom and Stoatskip to hunt with them, the toms happily agree. Stoatskip is the first to make a catch, but the warrior is almost tempted to eat it now, not having eaten much since caring for Claykit. While the rest of the patrol isn't looking, he gives in. After all, it sounds like the other's are catching plenty already, he even sees Gracklegorse drag two large rabbits into small clearing, another mouse would over-encumber the group, so he has his quick snack and the group return to camp, none the wiser.

Final thoughts/actions

Howlpaw begs her mother to be made a warrior early, Sunstar almost considers, but it's Gracklegorse that reminds her that even if Howlpaw was to be made warrior now, she's still resting her sprain, and that combined with her lack of skill would be a recipe for disaster for their daughter. Yewpaw promises his sister to train with her every day when she's all better.

Mudfur tells scary stories to the kits, starting with a dramatisized version of how she lost her tail, Rainkit snuggles up to her for comfort, while his brother plays brave, calling her bluff with stuttered mews. Poppykit hasn't been pating attention, instead leaving to go chase Kokichi's tail.

Flowerkit bats a pebble around the nursery, careful not to wake a sleeping Claykit. He knows his apprentice ceremony is coming up. He's both excited and nervous to who his mentor could be.

Outside the clan, Whisker watches Razzle through a window, jealous of the protection and food the Twolegs give him.

so Lumi and Paimon go to inspect the Sigil stuff, while Kaeya meets up w/ Zhongli and essentially just chats w/ him while they wait for Lumi, right? i feel like Zhongli, at this point, totally sees this as an opportunity to learn more abt them, since Kaeya's a primary source. definitely feels like he'd make a comment about Kaeya's pupil being a unique shape—but i also feel like this would put Kaeya on edge, b/c i feel like Kaeya,,, knows? like he probably knows the Archons destroyed Khaenri'ah, and since Zhongli's very clearly the Geo Archon (and also once a War God), it probably puts him on edge a bit? Very much like 'ur not gonna kill me if u find out i'm Khaenriahn, riiiiight?'

and then when Zhongli notices him dodging the question, he probably just pivots to asking abt traveling w/ Lumine and Paimon b/c he recognizes that yeah, Kaeya probably knows. idk, i think abt this conversation a lot, b/c it's essentially just the unspoken acknowledgement between both of them that Kaeya knows who Zhongli is, and Zhongli knows who Kaeya is. it's just interesting to me.

and then Lumi shows up and they're both kinda relieved b/c MAN was it getting a lil bit awkward haha—and then Zhongli hears abt the Sigils getting reproduced by the Fatui (this is like the ONLY thing i remember from the Sigil bit ngl) so he's like 'mmm be on your guard around them.' i personally think this is when he kinda starts developing a desire to protect these people, which is,,, incredibly precious.

it only gets better when Lumi has to sing to the Glaze Lilies??? b/c listen, guys, LISTEN ok, i feel like Lumi is a decent singer. like she's not Pro(tm) but she's definitely a lil above average yk??? anyway i like to imagine Lumi singing to the Whopperflowers and for like the brief moment of her doing it, both Kaeya and Zhongli are like 'oh,,,,,' b/c who doesn't love a pretty song????

anyway the whopperflowers are assholes and interrupt the very cute moment, and then Ganyu shows up as a one-two whammy :( but it's fine b/c Glaze Lilies and also Zhongli warns Lumi and Kaeya abt the wear and tear of working. i love it a lot b/c Zhongli's whole thing is trying to relax, and it just feels like he already sees these scars growing on these two and he wants them to not earn any more.

unfortunately, upon their return and everything coming to a head, Lumine's like 'well we can't just stand by and do nothing'. i really love how Zhongli warns her to think this through and to be careful. i just think it's so bbgrl of him guys please.

pretty sure that from here, it's just the Golden House fight. that fight actually does leave scars on Lumi's leg and Kaeya's arms (b/c he blocked a nasty sword slash at some point), but generally the fight is over and done w/ pretty quickly (b/c Lumi a tough bbgrl and Kaeya's got her back <3)

which is why it sucks that Lumi and Kaeya have to see Signora again after Signora kinda traumatized Lumi a lil bit (yknow, attacking Venti outta the blue, sending Paimon flying away, knocking Lumi out, etc). personally feel like Lumi and Kaeya are a little wounded to see Zhongli just,,, willingly offering his Gnosis up to her??? when he explains it, it kinda makes sense, but also Lumi just,,, very much feels Danger from being around Signora, so she's still tense and wary.

it doesn't help that Zhongli couldn't tell her what the Tsaritsa promised him in return for his Gnosis. b/c that kinda just left a sour taste in Lumi's mouth for a bit.
