“I’m not gonna be on the dash til I’ve done some writing —“ Alright I’m reneging on that but this is important. I’ve been thinking about Maura, and I do not actually vibe with what Evermeet: Island of the Elves put forth. So here’s what I’m going with instead.
Laeral did remain in Blackstaff Tower about three years after being freed from the Crown, though her presence was not publicly known. Waterdeep, Blackstaff Tower, the newly founded Blackstaff Academy (as of 1357) were simply not ideal environments for her mental and spiritual recoveries, though — so once she was physically well enough in 1357, she moved to Evermeet.
She moved to the same village Maura was being fostered in, though her daughter didn’t immediately move in with her. It was a big transition for both Laeral and Maura, and there were still some concerns about lingering effects of the Crown. They started with some supervised visitation and then unsupervised and then Maura moved in with her when she was maybe ten or eleven?
Of course being a Chosen kept Laeral on the move, and she did begin a relationship with Khelben (who she definitely told about Maura, idk why the book says otherwise), but she lived in Evermeet. I do think she and Maura spent some time in Waterdeep (parts of a year) and Laeral taught at Blackstaff Academy, but that wasn’t their Residence:tm:. Except in 1368, Maura decided she preferred Evermeet and stopped traveling to other lands with Laeral. Laeral technically moved to Waterdeep, but she kept in constant contact with Maura and visited multiple times a year.
