eris vanserra. you loathed him, resented him, repulsed by him and yet everytime you left the spring court he just happened to be there. its almost like as soon as you forget he exists he pops his head in and goes âhello! dont forget me!â and it works.
this godforsaken time you were on your horse riding out in the forest of the spring woods, being tamlinâs sister and his only friend these days meant you spent alot of time patrolling. not like tamlin would; depression had overtook him after loosing feyre. you actually didnt mind her but when she left along with lucian you did feel a pang at your heart.
you reached near the boarder of the spring and autumn, a canvas of grass and daisys being planted next to dunes of auburn leaves and various twigs. it was extraordinary how magic worked. you looked up from the floor and there he was. that cunning grin that had been planted into your nightmares since your teens when he first graced you.
âah my little fox! its been a while hasnt it?â he grinned, flashing those pearly white teeth, you took in his appearance. he looked clean, well the last time you saw him was under the mountain which was years now. his hair pinned slightly back into a half up half down bun. riding boots, you took note of those, expensive. you havent been able to buy new boots since the growing revolution in the spring. the spring was desolate and those that remained were planning a revolution to say the least.
ânot long enough,â you snarled as you carried on, your horse walking, even she was on edge around him. your horse had grown with you and was a true companion. perhaps because she couldnt talk but her expressions made for wonderful one sided conversations.
eris trailed along next to you as you patrolled like a fly that couldnt get the hint. âwhat do you want?â you asked bitterly not even daring to look down at him. not a far distant either he was infact 6â2. it annoyed you how tall he looked compared to his brothers.
âwar is looming my dear we dont need anymore animosity between courts,â eris mutters like he would actually do something to harm you. he hadnt, he was weird he teased you for years, centuries and yet never did anything but tease.
âeris,â you reiterated wanting him to cut to the chase.
âi need allies. tamlin has power and id like to use it.â power? who was he fooling. tamlin barely left his bedroom these days and when he did you had to force him. your eyes couldnt help but roll. âfine i need you as an allieâ now that was something.
âim nobodys solider.â you say quickly without a matter of a doubt. you were no ones pawn in a game.
âcharming but remember, i have money and people willing to move.â people repopulating the court might help.. it could be good but also sticking to who you were. âthink about it my little fox,â and then he was gone.

Why do you like Tamlin despite everything heâs done? I feel like stans will take one look at people who still like that character and outright assume theyâre an abuser apologist on sight lmao. So I wanted to know what youâre reasons for liking him are, perhaps to prove that his stans arenât actually abuser apologists but people who just like a fictional character for perfectly good reasons.
And also because Iâm curious. đ
Hi anon!!
Why I like Tamlin?....
Well, for starters, I fell for him in the first book. I mean who wouldn't? His character just seems so... Ethereal. The protagonist goes in the mystical land of the Fae and falls for their gorgeous king. I mean- u have to agree with me... Book 1 Tamlin>>> other sjm love interests.
He comes off as being kind and gentle and loving even after everything he has been through. He is struggling, evidently but that doesn't stop him from being what people need from him. Especially with Feyre. Oh how I love their chemistry in book 1. They understand each other and their pains. They have so much in common. And like- isn't Tamlin the dream bf every teenage girl wants? He's gorgeous, plays the fiddle, writes poem, takes you aesthetic dreamy places in his kingdom, says things like "don't feel bad for one moment about doing what brings you joy" AND THE MF LITERALLY HAS A CROWN OF SUNSHINE?!?
That being said, I loved Tamlin from the very start. So I obviously, didn't love how in acomaf sjm just went "PSYCHE!! Fck Tamlin u gotta love the sexual assaulter now cause I'm obsessed with his bat dick!!"
Like that just made me feel dumb for falling for Tamlin. And I resented that. Everything he did was so out of the blue, his character was up in flames and I was so mad at sjm for doing that to him. And goodness the narration was so whiney and annoying and self centred. It was so obvious that Tamlin was also struggling? That he also needed help. And attention and care. If Tamlin abuses feyre in way of neglect then I hate to break it to you it goes the other way round as well. The narrative that sjm and her stans spin is just so... Gross. Tamlin is the man so he shud suck it up and be there of his traumatized gf. But what about my man?! He struggling too. No one's there to help him! Feyre doesn't wake up in the night and talk to Tamlin when she sees him in his beast form? Then why is tamlin blamed for doing EXACTLY what Feyre is doing???
I absolutely hated that hypocrisy. That made me gravitate more towards Tamlin. The story and narrative itself blurred the line of morality. If Rhysie can be forgiven for SA then why can't Tamlin be forgiven for 2secs of abuse? If Feyre is the victim of Tamlins neglect then doesn't that imply the him too?
But the real reason why I love him is because he is the only character in the entire series that shows growth (positive growth i.e.) Book 2 Tamlin locks Feyre up (same like a certain someone did to her sister, so again line blurred.) and restricts her from making decisions about her own body i.e restricts her from training her powers. Which is reasonable but still, he should have explained the risks to her and then let her decide what she wanted to do. (This in my opinion is the only abuse he inflicted on her cause let's be honest, he said she couldn't go out to villages with him cause he would be distracted with her safety and that is very reasonable! He does not say anything about her going out with gaurds and u mfs be forgetting that a member of the royal family IS infact always under protection.)
BUT on the other hand, book 3 Tamlin, remedies all his mistakes. Feyre IS the queen of the spring court in those few chps of Acowar. She sits in on the meetings. She takes them to survey the wall the twice without tamlin being present there! Her therefore being the supreme authority. He trusts her! He's letting go of his paranoia and ptsd for her!! Like bitches homeboy actually changed himself for his girl like how can u not stan him đđđđ
AND after everything that bitch does to him Tamlin does everything in his power TO SEE HER HAPPY!!!!!!!! đđđđ
He risks his life to save her ungrateful ass in the hyburn camp.
Like "she deserves happiness even if it's not with me" vibes.
"Be happy, Feyre"
My man literally brings back the person who killed his family FOR HER!
I'm sorry but... Anyone who doesn't wear sjm manipulation glasses can see that Tamlin isn't evil. That he made mistakes. That people are not defined by their worst mistakes especially if they actually work hard and make up for them over and over again.
So yes, I think I speak for most tamlin stans when I say this... We don't love him because we hate Feyre, we don't love him cause we abuse apologists and misogynists. We love him for his complex character that sjm unintentionally created.

A loud banging sound on the door woke Nesta up. She groaned and sat up to see Elain sprawled beside her on the bed and apparently, some time in the middle of the night, Feyre had fallen onto the floor.Â
Nestaâs head was pounding and the sunlight hurt her eyes. And the banging on the door was certainly not helping.
âUgh! Someone stop that wretched sound! I feel as if my head is going to explode!â Feyre groaned from the floor.Â
Elain huffed and elegantly got up. She turned to look at both Nesta and Feyre and shook her head in disappointment. âYou shouldnât have drunk an entire bottle when you knew it would kill you the next morning.âÂ
Feyre gasped dramatically and Nesta glared at Elain. âYou drank the same as we did.â She said blandly.
Elain nodded her head. âYes, yes I did. However, I know how to handle my liquor. Iâve had tons of practice.â Suddenly, the entire atmosphere in the room went down. Elain instantly averted her eyes, as if she realised what she was saying.Â
âOh, Elain, it has nothing to do with practice.â Feyre said, trying to brighten the mood. â Youâre just fancier than us.â She was still sprawled on the floor.Â
âAnd how does being fancy have anything to do with this?â Nesta asked her with eyebrows raised.Â
Feyre got up and shot an angry look towards the door, âFancy people know how to properly behave in front of people. Whereas people like us, dear Nesta, donât give a ratâs ass about what people think.â
Elain giggled as Feyre stumbled onto the bed. She moved towards the door and opened it a bit, speaking to the person outside softly. Nesta held her head and cursed herself for drinking so much the previous night.Â
The sisters had bonded over whiskey and the talk of idiotic men who thought they could own them. Nesta had already told Lord Thomas that she was not interested. Elain did not want to be with Prince Lucien at all and had contemplated delaying the answer as Prince Rhysand was also there, but they all knew she wasnât really interested in Prince Rhysand.
Feyre had remained silent though. She had just said that she would think about it. Nesta hated that she couldnât do anything for her sister. They had never gotten along well only because they were too similar. It was one of the things Nesta regretted the most. Recently, they had been on better terms, unfortunately, Feyre had distanced herself once again, all due to Tamlin. If it were Nestaâs choice, she would have gotten rid of him the first day he had demeaned them.
Elain closed the door and stood in front of the bed with mocking eyes. She grinned as she said. âIt seems that dear father has called for us in his meeting room, instantly.âÂ
Nesta scowled at Elain as Feyre fell back onto the floor, groaning. âOh, fuck.â
----------------------------
Elain was smiling. Brightly. A bit too much than normal, but no one wouldâve noticed any difference. Princess Elain was only known for smiles and kindness. No one knew about the girl who had once been so depressed, she had taken to liquor and frequent visits to opium dens. But she was over that now. At least she thought so.Â
Behind her, Nesta was walking slowly holding onto the wall and Feyre was stumbling, muttering curses every now and then. Elain giggled a bit.Â
Suddenly, the royal chamber's door was opened by the royal soldiers. Elain walked at the head of the group and moved into the meeting room. It had been made in such a way that no one could hear a word from outside.Â
In the room Elain saw the three men standing in front of her father.Â
Rhys looked bored and was in some form of gear. Azriel and Cassian both looked alert and were completely in gear with leathers and daggers. They all had an aura of darkness around them. Elain considered them as dark knights in shining armour.
As soon as they heard the princesses enter, they all looked towards them. Elainâs father looked towards them as well. He regarded Elain with a nod and then looked back at Feyre and Nesta, who were stumbling and slouching, respectively.
She saw the three men shoot amused looks in their directions while her father just narrowed his eyes at them. He then capped his hands together, the sound echoing through the room. Feyre and Nesta instantly stood up straight in attention and eyes widened. The three of them moved forward and knelt in front of their father in greeting.Â
When they got up and moved back, the king stood up. âFirst things first,â He announced and pointed towards Elain, âPrincess Elain, you shall not marry Prince Lucien and Princess Feyre,â He then pointed towards Feyre, âYou shall not consider the Captainâs proposal.âÂ
----------------------------
Feyreâs jaw dropped down. What did her father mean when he said that she should not consider Tamlinâs proposal? And how did he even know in the first place? Feyre thought.Â
The King smiled at her. âI have a few spies here and there.â From her side, Cassian started coughing.Â
âIs this because Prince Rhysand has to choose one of us?â Feyre sputtered.Â
The King shook his head slowly, âNot at all. Infact, his main motive to be here isnât even related to marriage.â
âThen why is he here? Why are they here?â Nesta said from the back, silently observing the three men, her gaze lingering on Cassian.Â
The King looked at her with narrowed eyes. âTheyâre here to protect you.â
All three sisters widened her eyes. Nesta was the one who spoke up. âProtect us? As in one man for each?âÂ
Cassian spoke up from the side. âYes, Princess Nesta. You get to play damsel in distress.âÂ
Nesta scowled at him. Feyre looked at her father as she said, âWe can protect ourselves, very well, father. There is no need for someone else to be handed the task.âÂ
The King looked at her. âFeyre, I know you can protect yourself, but you need them to help you.â Feyre understood what message had been hidden in that statement. She nodded and backed away.
When she looked at her sisters, she saw from their faces that they had understood as well.Â
âFather, who will be appointed to whom?â Elain asked softly, looking down at her sandals. Feyre felt a surge of nausea wave over her.
The King sat back down on his throne and waved his hand in the sky as he declared the pairs.Â
âPrincess Nesta will be with the Spymaster, Azriel.
Princess Elain will be with Prince Rhysand.
And Feyre will be with General Cassian.â
Feyre turned towards a potted plant and heaved into it, expelling all the alcohol from the previous night.

If tamlin is not retconned in book 2 and rhysand is still a villain, what do you think the plot of acomaf would be?
Hi anon!!
Anon, you have no idea how happy it makes me that u want to know what I think, but u shud know this may not be good cause I am literally a teenager with no writing affiliation but yay I am so excited to share this! think it wud sort of go about like this: (srry this turned out longer than I thought)
The book should obviously start with Feyre and Tamlin dealing with their Trauma, TOGETHER.
(Amarantha did SA tamlin. He was ready to marry her if only she let feyre go.)
Tamlin having Feyre educated with private tutors cause no he can't have an illiterate as the Lady of his court and frankly Feyre agress.
NO IANTHEE. Instead Tamlin's court. Like his two best friends (who are secretly in love with each other) from his war camp days and His governess' daughter (she is like his sister) and a bi disaster lesser faerie (whose kinda my self insert) who owns a bar they all love to hang out at.
Feyre and Tamlin taking a tour of their court (more scope for World building) to introduce her to her a subjects
That's when she realises she has powers. And Tamlin trains her himself cause he doesn't trust anyone. (Lucien helps too)
So I would have it like Beron finds out Feyre has taken his power and there is an assassination attempt. (For the drama)
Lucien is triggered by this and breaks down. Feyre and Tamlin realise they have been so caught up in themselves that they neglected Lucien. So they take him to the Singing Willow and have a heartfelt talk. (Character building)
Tamlin, who has been working to minimize the potential threat of hybern, learns they are looking for the cauldron.
Feyre finds about the threat of war and is furious at Tamlin for keeping it from her (more drama)
Then they take a tour of the Prythian looking for the parts of the cauldron under the guise of the "Saviour Of Prythian wanting to meet see her new world" None of the high lords buy it so courtroom drama
Everyone literally fall to their knees when feyre walks in and she just smirks. đ€đŒ
Feylin fluff âșïž and feylin smut đ
I would have Lucien and Tamlin's sis trying to retrieve the parts of the cauldron from hybern that they already have.
Now rhysie had allied with Hybern cause they promised him to be High King. But he is infact Feyre's mate and has feelings for her.
So basically there is no IC. No Velaris. He is all alone. Tragic family backstory is still there. When Amarantha takes over, he proposes to her so that he cud be High King. But she is too in love with Tamlin. Instead she uses her power to use him as her boy toy. He doesn't want that, his intentions were different and he is being forced and not as some noble "sacrifice" (basically more complexity to his character rather than just having a big fancy dick)
He calls in the bargain and Feyre has to leave to go to him mid tour. The first week he tells her about the mating bond. Second week she learns that the piece of cauldron is in the NC and Rhysie is trying to bargain it to Hybern.
Then what she did to Tamlin in acowar only no mind-raping. Pretending to start falling for Rhysie. Getting the information and giving it tamlin. She feels bad tho because Rhysand's feelings are genuine. He does want a mate.
Cut to Tamlin arrives at Savgravah finds the piece. Feyre escapes and goes to meet him there. But she isn't able to because rhysie looked into Feyre's mind and is like super furious about the betrayal. Like tears and all. Calling him out on SA and him being unapologetic saying I did what I had to do (MORE DRAMA)
Rhysand and Feyre fight (which she obviously looses) but she gets a glimpse into his mind and what his plans for Prythian are. She's knocked unconscious.
Hybern then arrives with Lucien and party as prisoners (yeah they failed :/) Rhysie gives them the part. But they need to sacrifice a powerful Fey (among other things) to activate the cauldron. Hybern wants Tamlin because even tho his father was an ally, as soon as Tamlin became HL he cut all ties and well it hurt Hybern's ego so now he wants revenge.
Tamlin gives himself in exchange for Lucien and his sis [All this is in Lucien's pov]
Book ends with Feyre locked in Rhysie's dungeon, waking up to find Tamlin taken. And she's like "I'm gonna get my beasty baby back and kill that son of bitch (Rhysie)."

I do believe riceman never help ferry at all. It's why I find the acomaf shit because it's about him gaslighting an abuse survivor and manipulating her to the point ferry doesn't have any agency anymore. I know that him taking refugees for priestesses is cool okay, but decent high lord like tarquin has been accepting refugees from spring and yet he gets shitted on just because he told feysand to fuck off! Also, what makes riceman a hypocrite because he doesn't do anything to the illyrian women and con survivors. He's the worst, your honor.
Hi anon!!
Excellent arguments councellor. The judge rules: Rhysand is, infact, the worst.
Feyre faced neglect while suffering from sevre ptsd and at this time Rhysie gave her a little attention and the illusion of happiness and she fell for it. Anyone in her place wud. I, personally feel really bad for Ferry as a character. Sjm has butchered her so much that I actively hate her.
And... Nesta and Tamlin are villainized for wronging Feyre but that isn't even a fraction of how much Rhysie has wronged her. Even is she doesn't realise it. I'm not even going to talk about Nesta because I think Nestas character was only made that way in book 1 to establish Feyrug as the victim so that 2D Cinderella step sister thing doesn't work for me. But even with Tamlin, yes he caused her hurt and pain...but that was out of ignorance and his own trauma. Each action of his was taken with Feyre as the top priority. But that's not the case with Rhysie. Rhysie does what benefits him the most. He makes that sketchy rapey bargain because he wants to spend time with her. He SA'd her because he was jealous and horny. He fills feyre with nonsense against tamlin because he wants her. Lmao the reason he asks Feyre to join him is because he wants to use her powers as a weapon!! He isolates her from her family and restricts them from touching her for his peace of mind. He doesn't tell her about the risk of pregnancy for his peace of mind.
And after all this, through actions or words or both (like Tamlin) these so called villians have apologised for their wrongs. They have realised their mistakes. They have tried to be better and have indeed succeeded. But Rhysie? No. Why? Because in the eyes of the narrative he can never do any wrong.
Like Rhysie is the one who has wronged Feyre the most.
Well yeah it's nice that he has that refuge thing...but isn't there like a thing where they can't back once they leave? Like what nonsense is that? And plus I think him wanting to fck feyrug there kinda cancels out the whole him caring for the priestesses thing.
No but I think it's funny that the only black man whose actively working to abolish literal slavery is shitted on by the mcs. But why even be surprised we all know sjm is a racist at this point so...
Look, Rhysie only helps women who can give him something in return. Once I realised this a lot of things started making sense ngl.
