Red flag pt.4
>>>Read on AO3<<<
Entering the BDSM club, Mikasa finally gets to see what Eren does for a living.
Intimacy and anonymity, those were the two feelings that the interior invoked the most. The light was muted, the colors dark, and her worry about the dress code completely unnecessary. Sure, a woman was wearing a beautiful evening gown, complete with elbow-length gloves, but she was talking to a guy in ripped jeans and a skull-decorated t-shirt. As Mikasa made her way through the club, she noticed that about a half of the attendants were masked, just as she was, the other half were probably regulars and didn’t feel the need to cover their identity. To get a better look at the overall layout, she parked herself at the bar, leaning on the wood and almost immediately being approached by a bartender.
“What can I get you miss?”
Unsure of what people even drank here and knowing that she would have to drive home anyway, Mikasa decided for a safe route.
“A soda please.”
Soon the glass was at her elbow and the man left to serve other guests, leaving her alone. Taking a sip of the beverage, Mikasa looked around, taking the whole thing in. The club wasn’t big, but not small either, with several tables as well as booths for more privacy. The centerpiece that everything was aimed towards wasn’t the bar she was standing at, but a raised stage at the wall, obvious place where the performances took place. In fact, one was taking place right now.
A woman was there, dressed in a way Mikasa saw during her online research into Eren’s way of life. Thigh-high boots on killer heels, latex bodysuit, there wasn’t any skin shown yet it was sexy as hell. The whiteness of her outfit sat well with the blonde color of her hair. The woman’s attention was focused solely on the man kneeling in front of her, facing away, as she twirled a whip between her gloved fingers. He was much more naked than the woman, dressed only in shorts and some sort of leather harness around the neck and shoulders. Despite the situation they were in, the blonde’s expression was that of a statue, completely calm. As Mikasa watched on, captured by the scene, she raised the whip and with a loud smack brought it against the man’s back. His whole body tensed at the impact, on the verge of collapse as the hit was strong if Mikasa was any judge. They must have been at this for some time now because the abused skin was positively red, welted from the abuse.
“She’s really letting him have it tonight.”, said someone to Mikasa’s right, making her turn.
A tall, freckled girl was standing there, leaning on the bar exactly as Mikasa was, her eyes watching the performance. Dressed in a leather jacket and jeans, she was relaxed, unlike Mikasa, this was definitely not her first rodeo. There was a twinkle in her gaze when she turned towards the newbie and continued.
“I know that it looks scary, but I assure you that he’s enjoying it. Plus, most dommes aren’t this harsh, Annie is one of a kind.”
So that was the Mistress A, Eren’s mentor and friend. But despite valuing the confirmation, Mikasa wasn’t sure why the woman was talking to her in the first place. If she was looking for a playmate, she would have to look elsewhere, as Mikasa was not here for that.
“Why are you telling me this?”, she asked.
“You are new, aren’t you?”
“Is it that obvious?”
Freckles grinned.
“You are rigid, your whole body is tense.”, she reached over, poking Mikasa in the shoulder, “Relax.”
The raven’s eyes floated back towards the stage, where Annie was. Their performance finished, she and the man got a round of applause before disappearing backstage, but the mental image of the welts on the guy’s back was burned into Mikasa’s mind.
“Easy for you to say.”
“Nah, you are just spooked by Annie beating the living shit out of people. The next act should be much softer, I promise.”
“How do you know?”
The girl’s smile widened.
“I just do. Oh, and I’m Ymir, by the way.”
“Mi-“, was all Mikasa got out before she realized that she was wearing a goddamn mask to keep anonymous. Ymir noticed her blunder, chuckling.
“If you want to stay anon, that’s fine by me. I’ll just call you Mi then.”
To cover for her stumble, and because she was also genuinely curious, Mikasa pushed the issue and went on the offensive, as the best defense is often an attack.
“You can’t just say that you know and not elaborate. You said that I should relax, so stop being such a tight ass with information.”
“Feisty are we? But you have a point. The thing is, I’m not into this whole thing,”, Ymir gestured vaguely around the club, “but my girlfriend is, so that’s why I’m here. That’s also why I know that the next performance will be much softer because she is not into these hardcore beatings Annie can do.”
“Your girlfriend? She’s going to be here?”
“That’s right.”
“And you don’t mind?”
“Why should I?”, Ymir raised an eyebrow, “She’s been into this for a long time, and it would be damn selfish if I demanded that she stop because of me, no? Plus, when she’s on the stage, you can see that she’s genuinely having fun, and I would never take that away from her.”
Just then, the excited murmur that ran through the club announced that the stage was no longer vacant.
“Speak of the devil.”, Ymir said, looking away from Mikasa and back towards the raised floor, “There she is.”
The girl on the stage was also blonde as Annie was, but shorter and somehow much less imposing. Might have been the clothes, as instead of a catsuit and high heels she was wearing a piece that looked like what gymnast wear. It was made from latex, Mikasa guessed, and left her legs bare while covering her upper body and arms. Her face was also much different, excited and slightly flushed. The other person who entered behind her, now that was someone Mikasa knew, and her own cheeks got redder just by watching him move.
Eren wasn’t dressed in anything scandalous. A suit, dark as a sin, the perfect fit betraying that it was tailored specifically for him. Eren’s hands were covered too, in black leather gloves, the only skin visible from his whole body was the dark smile. His hair was pulled back into a short ponytail and he even had a mask on, but it was more of a decoration than an attempt to hide who he was. Mikasa would guess that everyone in the club knew that, and the little lacy piece sitting around his eyes did nothing to confuse them. Eren had a small smile on his lips when he dipped his head to whisper something in the girl’s ear, making her giggle. At the same time, a ring slowly descended from above, stopping to hover over the pair.
“Ooh, a suspension, those are fun.”, Ymir noted, “Krista will love it.”
So that was Krista. First Annie, now Krista, Mikasa felt like she was meeting every important woman in Eren’s life tonight. Focusing back on the scene, she saw a table in the back of the stage, one that wasn’t there before, laden with various tools and things that she had trouble identifying, even with her research beforehand. Maybe Eren was feeling basic tonight, or maybe he wanted to show off, but the thing he picked up wasn’t any of the spreader bars and bondage tools, but a simple rope. He showed it to the crowd first, like a magician, creating a ripple of laughter.
“Comedian.”, Ymir commented next to her.
Comedian or not, when Eren got to work the whole club fell silent. Mikasa didn’t fully understand what was happening in front of her, but her breathing got agitated anyway. One thing she could say for sure, and that was that Eren was very good at this. He knelt, working on his partner’s legs first, nudging them apart with a firm hand. He sneaked the ropes around Krista’s thighs, creating diamond-shaped patters against her.
Rope here and there, between her legs, pulled tight and pressing hard into the skin. For some reason, It felt like there were ropes between Mikasa’s thighs too and she pressed them together just to be sure, letting out a sigh. Far from done, Eren quickly grabbed another rope when he was finished, working on Krista’s upper body after. Hands behind her back, straight, he bound them together in various loops that went all the way from the wrist to her elbows. Another one, and now he was wrapping her chest, intricate circles around her breasts and suggestive shapes below, all the way down to join the ropes between her thighs. In preparation for the suspension, Eren guided the ropes up and through the ring, giving her body a safety net.
He was not the only one who knew what he was doing, Krista was no beginner either, letting her weight rest against the ropes instead of keeping rigid, allowing him to work without worrying. She was incredibly flexible, as Eren claimed before, Mikasa couldn’t help but wince when he pulled her leg up high, much higher than the raven could do. She had no idea how long Eren worked, time didn’t matter here, his hands moving fast, delicate long fingers dancing over Krista’s body.
Then he was done, casting inspecting eye over the ropework and whispering something to Krista. When he got a resolute nod in return, he stepped back, giving a thumbs up to someone in the backstage. With a muted sound, the ring went up, pulling the bound body into the air.
It wasn’t high, just a few centimeters above ground, but that was more than enough to take Mikasa’s breath away. Krista hung in the ropes, no resistance from her side, wrapped up so beautifully that she looked like an ornament. Bend at angles that Mikasa didn’t think were possible, her small body was a work of art too, and together with Eren’s efforts, they created a thing of beauty together. Somehow, Mikasa felt as if she was the one hanging up there, fully on display, tied up yet free at the same time. It wasn’t some sort of dark and painful dominance, this side was exactly as soft as Ymir said. It didn’t matter that Eren tied Krista up, they were partners in this, not a master and a slave. The ropes restrained, sure, but they were a decoration too, beautiful knots pressed into white skin.
The club erupted into applause. Eren took a step back, gesturing towards Krista as if most of the work has been done by her. He still bowed, and when he straightened, Mikasa could swear that the green eyes from behind the mask met hers. They stared at each other while the ruckus continued around them, while Krista still hung from the metal ring, obvious to anything. Mikasa’s mental image of being on the stage was complete – she was the one tied up, suspended, on display for the whole club. She was the one Eren restrained, tightly yet lovingly at the same, she remembered how the leather of his gloves felt when he spread her thighs far apart. She could see him, kneeling between her legs, his eyes staring into hers as he wrapped the rope around one toned thigh, decorating the porcelain skin with the rope.
Mikasa's cheeks were positively aflame now, breathing labored, and she couldn’t tear her eyes from the stage. The thing that happened, it wasn’t even that sexual in nature, both the performers were fully clothed, but it was the hottest thing she was in her entire life. Her thighs have been rubbing against one another for some time, and to say that Mikasa was turned on would be an understatement. Heart beating heavily in her chest, she didn’t even realize how close she was until Ymir spoke, breaking the spell.
“Damn.”, the tall girl whispered, “He’s good.”
Embarrassed all of a sudden, humiliated that she was made this desperate by a sight alone, Mikasa turned away, hiding her face behind a curtain of midnight hair. This wasn’t supposed to happen, Eren invited her to make her feel more comfortable with what he does, not to turn her into…. Into what? Confused, still flushed, Mikasa shifted on her chair while the applause finally died down.
The performance was done.

A-Z of Favorite Fictional Ladies B is for: Buffy Summers
Tumblr media
As a rule, I endure rather than enjoy nine out of ten fictional female protagonists, and it’s incredibly frustrating. But it’s also something I’ve kind of come to accept. With all the different types of women out there in the world, nine out of ten fictional female protagonists will still wind up being one of the same two types of characters: the oft-overlooked Good Girl™ who’s sweet/accommodating/a little shy-but-also-feisty, or the Rebel/Intellectual/Tomboy who is Not Like Other Girls and scorns pink but turns out to be movie-star gorgeous when a friend who knows all things girly forces her to dress up and turn heads. (Basically, Mary Sue or Scary Sue.) By the time I was eight, I had sort of figured out that my favorite female characters, the ones I actually related to and who inspired me, were not liked/admired by 90% of the other girls around me, because basically none of them had problems learning when to speak up—they all had problems learning when to shut up.
When I first began watching Buffy, I figured it would be the same old story: I’d sigh at the protagonist, love one of the secondary characters best, and at most, get a few laughs out of the whole thing. At that point, I was already in college and frankly, I was pretty sure any show as hyped as this one would have a protagonist I would hate.
But!
Then I met Buffy.
And Buffy is just…Buffy.
Why she’s my girl:
She spends her evenings roaming graveyards and fighting vampires, but fashionably. She quips non-stop and has a tight-knit group of friends, but is a lonely little soul. She saves the world (a lot) but mostly just wants to be left alone to live her life in peace, and to quote someone formerly dangerous and currently annoying, she has bleedin’ tragic taste in men (Je stink).
From the beginning of the series to its end, the Buffster is a protagonist who flirts with the thin line of likeability. While she is a protagonist who is easy to root for, she is also one who makes many, many mistakes that frequently come back to bite her (pun only semi-intended). I personally don’t 100% relate to her until about S5 and then it starts getting uncomfortable how much I relate to her, but her actions in response to dicey situations command my respect at all times.
For all her cute blondeness and ever-present wisecracking, Buffy’s tough. Diamond-tough, really, and unapologetic; she’s simultaneously an unabashed girly-girl and a kickass bitchy-bitch, and she will do whatever it takes to get the job done. Responsibility isn’t a thing she seeks yet somehow, it always seems to find her, and even when she wants to run away and let someone else deal with it for a change, she ends up staying and battling. She’s a peppy cheerleader turned college dropout turned person who would rather work construction over retail (but winds up in fast-food) turned high-school guidance counselor, and she’s forever wistfully eyeing the normal lives of those she protects. But ultimately, her calling is Slayer, and the “dumb” blonde Valley girl who resents messing up her manicure punching vampires and paying too much for cream rinses that are neither creamy nor rinse-y is a powerful force to be reckoned with.
She is, sadly, still only one of a small number of female characters who highlight that liking pink and caring about clothes and wanting a date do not equal weakness, and I will always love her for that—as someone who loves boxing/self-defense/general punching things but also shopping and cute outfits, Buffy makes me feel very seen. She doesn’t apologize for liking miniskirts and heels, but she doesn’t exclusively wear miniskirts and heels…she’s practical enough to wear clothes that can survive slaying (halter tops, for instance). She’s funny, bright, impatient, and stubborn, and she’s loyal to a fault. She talks a lot but isn’t great with words. She puns obsessively, often at inappropriate times. She holds grudges and isn’t the greatest student, but she continually fights to protect those who can’t protect themselves, and when she’s quite literally dragged from her rest, she still tries to pick up the shambles of her life and keep going—without telling any of the responsible parties how it’s affected her. I mean, the part where she has to ahem, claw her way out of something her own self-sacrifice put her in in the first place? THE STRENGTH THAT REQUIRES IS NOT JUST PHYSICAL, and I still get a little angry at the Scoobies for that one.
She’s considered kind of dumb even by those closest to her, yet they constantly look to her for leadership when things go south. She deals with (don’t even get me started because I could happily smack all of them) the Potentials, and does what she can to prepare and comfort the younger girls for the death and destruction most likely coming their way. She defies senseless, heavy-handed authority that attempts to impose rules and traditions on her and those she cares about, and when she loves, she loves deeply.
She is, in essence, powerful but enormously flawed—and anyone who considers that a negative thing in feministic representation is egregiously myth-taken.
Favorite Quotes:
WAY-hay-hay too many to count, but some especially meaningful faves off the top of my head are:
“I may be dead...but I’m still pretty.”
“Hi, honey. I’m home.”
“The whole earth may be sucked into Hell, and you want my help ‘cause your girlfriend’s a big ho? Well, let me take this opportunity to not care.”
[“No weapons. No friends. No hope. Take all that away, and what’s left?”] “Me.”
[“You’re really campaigning for Bitch of the Year, aren’t you?”] “As defending champion, you nervous?”
“Bite me.”
“She irons her jeans. She’s evil. She has to be destroyed!”
“So you haven’t murdered anybody lately? Let’s be best pals!”
“That probably would have sounded more commanding if I wasn’t wearing my Yummy Sushi pajamas.”
“Conversation’s over, hell-bitch.”
“The hardest thing to do in this world is live in it.”
“I think I know why Joan’s the boss—I’m like a superhero or something!”
“Goodnight, bitch.”
“No guy is worth your life. Not ever.”

Flowers in Resin Part 2 - Hongseok
Flowers in Resin Part 1
Group: Pentagon Member: Hongseokkie my sweet child Request: Sort-of requested, I wanted to bring this to full circle. Part 2 has been asked about a few times too *sweats nervously* Genre: Fluffity-fluff because I’m weak for it Length: pretty long kids, so sit back, buckle up & enjoy. word count: 5.9k
(Six months later)
It had taken quite some time to get back into the groove of life after you woke up from your coma. After discussing it with your family and a therapist you decided to take the next semester off so you could focus on getting back to normal life. You started a new job at the pet store a few blocks from your apartment and you loved every second of it. It was a blessing in your life, being able to spend your time loving animals the shop would showcase from the local shelter in hopes to put them in good homes.
Everything was slowly turning around, your parents were back on speaking terms but they were still pursuing their own relationships. The best part was your mother’s boyfriend from hell was dropped days after you woke up and she found a much nicer man who treated you like his own daughter. Your father had decided to stay closer to his family but had found a woman about 2 months ago that swept him off his feet, she was great. You felt that if both of these relationships continued you’d love your step parents, they both seemed like great matches for your parents.
You however were still single, but you had told your therapist that you felt this was right at the moment for you. Especially after having been gone for six months, it just felt right to focus on yourself than trying to get back into the dating game. You were incredibly thankful for your childhood friend Jinho who had actually gotten you the job at the pet store. He had helped you every step of the way in your recovery. Other than your father, he was the only man in your life that you needed.
“Yah! (Y/N), snap out of it and come help me!” He whined, the large poodle requiring both of your to bathe her.
“Sorry Jinho.” You grinned, the necklace falling from your fingertips as you rushed over to soothe the poodle who was not happy about bath time.
“I don’t know why that older woman always brings Seondeok every time we work, she knows we’re both quite small for a dog this size.” Jinho grumbled. He had to break out the step stool to be able and lather Seondeok’s other side with shampoo.
“I’m telling you, she comes for you.” You winked at him, holding the sides of Seondeok’s head in your hands and scratching her ears. “If she comes on the days you’re not here she’ll turn around and come back when you are.” You gasped. “What if she calls the manager for your schedule so she knows exactly when you’re working?” You couldn’t hold back your giggles.
You watched your older friend shudder with his whole body before he moved to rinse the beast off. You was still laughing when he moved the nozzle over just enough to get you wet.
“Yah! Jinho!” You laughed again, leaning forward to punch his arm lightly.
“If I find out that you have done anything to help that woman find me I’ll drown you.”
“Ouch.” You laughed again, moving to get two towels. “Don’t give me reasons to help her out.” You shot back, jumping back to miss the stream of the water.
“Seondeokkie is the last one we have to bathe today, let’s get her finished so we can start cleaning and close early.”
“Is something going on today?” You started drying off Seondeok’s head and neck.
“I asked off early because I have a friend coming in from abroad. Well, he’s actually been here for a bit. His family lives in the states but he’s here for school. He’s been back and will stay for the last two years of college.”
“Ahhh, that one that you sometimes facetime while on break?”
“Yea.” Jinho smiled. “Other than you and the guys, I trust Hongseok with my life.”
That name rang a bell and that bell sent sirens going off in your brain. You knew of Jinho’s other younger friends, Hwitaek was your favorite he really treated you like a little sister. Hyojong was a bit of a pushover when he wasn’t acting like a wannabe badass. Shinwon was just Shinwon, after knowing him for a few years you still can’t figure him out. And the rest of the younger members, Changgu, Yanan, Yuto, Hyunggu, and Wooseok were enough to invoke the mother in you whenever you were around them. Something that always made the older guys laugh because you scolding the younger ones when they were being stupid was apparently “funny”. If you hadn’t been around half the time they would all have died by now, you were sure of it.
Although, now you remember them. When you had first woke up, you only remembered your family and Jinho when he came to see you. But you had met the rest of the guys much later and thus they were lost in the haze of temporary amnesia. In fact, Hwitaek had yet to let you live down not recognizing them the day you left the hospital but seeing as what had happened he only brought it up to annoy you. You hadn’t actually hung out with them much since you woke up, your schedules just never really matched up.
“You should come with me.” Jinho smiled at you, as he dried Seondeok off.
“I’d be intruding.” You smiled sweetly, trying to decline the offer.
“No you wouldn’t.” Jinho shook his head, pausing to look at you. “The guys have been wanting to hang out anyway.” He shrugged, turning back to Seondeok and unleashing her from the stand above the sink. “You should get out of your apartment for the night anyway.” He led Seondeok towards the dryer station and hooked her up to start blow drying her fur. “It will be fun! We’ve been talking about getting dinner and then hitting up a karaoke room.” He winked at you.
“Yea, so you and Hui can hog the mics all night.” You rolled your eyes as you collected the dirty towels.
“Hey, that was one time.” Jinho laughed, petting Seondeok’s head as she nudged his hand.
“You mean every time.” You rolled your eyes. “There has yet to be an evening spent at a karaoke bar that wasn’t taken over by you and Hui.”
“We like to sing.” He shrugged.
The two of you worked in silence as he turned on the hair dryer and continued to dry Seondeok. You put the dirty towels away and moved towards the storeroom to get clean towels. As you cleaned up after Jinho and Seondeok the chime from the front of the shop caught your attention. Quickly moving towards the counter around the side of the small store you were greeted by none other than Hwitaek and Hyojong themselves.
“What are you two doing here?” You squished your face up in mock disgust.
“We’re here to see Jinho obviously.” Hwitaek jeered, “Where is he squirt?” He ruffled your hair.
“Listen, just because you’re older doesn’t mean I won’t kick your ass.” You rolled your eyes at him.
“Still as feisty as ever.” Hyojong mused, leaning against the counter. “Are you coming out with us tonight? I’m sure Hyung mentioned it.”
“He did.” You nodded, stepping back towards the door, “Jinho, the losers are here.”
“Ouch.” Hyojong chuckled. “Hyung might be a loser, but I’m not.” Hui smacked him in the back of the head.
“You should really consider joining us.” Hwitaek smiled back at you. “We keep asking Jinho when he’s going to force you out of your apartment into the world.”
“I’m out of my apartment right now.”
Hwitaek closed his mouth when the door chimed again.
“Hello Mrs. Kim, Jinho is finishing up with Seondeok right now.” You greeted the older woman.
She looked Hwitaek up and down once before smiling to herself. She nodded as she dug her wallet from her big, red purse and handed over the usual amount.
“He’ll bring out my Seondeokkie right?”
“Yes ma’am. In fact, if you just give me a moment.” You ripped her receipt from the cash register and handed it to her. “I’ll let him know you’re here and make sure he brings her out himself.”
You excused yourself and popped your head into the back room in time to see  Seondeok dragging Jinho towards the door after hearing her mom’s voice.
“I see Seondeokkie knows, Mrs. Kim is here. She requested you bring Seondeok to her yourself.” You tried to keep your giggles at bay at how quickly Jinho’s face dropped.
“Of course.”
You watched as Jinho was dragged from the back bathing room and straight to Mrs. Kim waiting with her arms open.
“Seondeokkie!!” She called. “Mommy’s missed you!!”
You absentmindedly listened as Jinho thanked Mrs. Kim for always choosing your little establishment and trusting you two with Seondeok. He walked her to the front door letting her know that the store would be closing early today and would be closed for a few days on request of the owner. Hwitaek and Hyojong had busied themselves as you started wiping down the counter cleaning up around the front of the store.
“Ya know, this would all get done quicker if the two of you helped.” You quipped, eyes never leaving the counter.
“We don’t work here.” Hwitaek retorted, his attention moving from the magazine in his hands to you.
“Then quit making messes we have to clean up before we leave.”
“Hyung, you’re the manager, tell her to quiet down.” Hwitaek teased, whining to Jinho who had joined you behind the counter.
“As soon as the last customer leaves and it’s time to clean up, she’s in charge.” Jinho held his hands up defensively. “I agree with her too. If the two of you punks helped we would be out of here in half the time. (Y/N) still needs to go back to her apartment to change.”
“Hey, I never agreed to go.”
“We’ll help clean up the shop if you come with us tonight!” Hyojong jumped in, giving you a rather cute pout.
“Hyung will even drive you back and forth!” Hwitaek volunteered Jinho’s car.
“Plus the kids miss you!” Hyojong added, “Yuto, Hyunggu and Wooseok have been asking about you for the last month! If you come tonight they’ll shut up!” Hyojong grabbed your hands, “Please!”
“Fine!” You laughed, “If you two get busy mopping and making sure all the displays are intact, Jinho and I can clean up back here and I’ll go out with you losers.” You groaned, “I hate how convincing you can be, plus I’m ONLY going for the kids. I miss them too.” You pouted at the three guys around.
“You’ll have so much fun!” Hwitaek exclaimed, “Where’s the broom and the mop?”
“I”ll show you.” Jinho chuckled.
“C’mon Hyojong, I’ll show you what to do.” You tugged him behind you.
-----
Within half an hour the shop was cleaned, locked, and you were sitting in Jinho’s passenger seat as he drove to your apartment.
“You can get changed at my place.” You turned to him as he turned onto your street. “You don’t need any of the clothes you’ve left over right?”
“No, I have some.” He was extra chipper. “I’m glad you agreed, really.”
“Yea, yea, whatever. I agreed to get the three of you to leave me alone.” You nodded slightly to the car behind you. “Why are they following us anyway?”
“They want to ride together, what Hwitaek doesn’t know if he’s the DD for the night.” Jinho winked at you as he parked in front of your apartment. “Let’s go.”
-----
You let the guys hang out in your living room as you quickly got ready in your bedroom, thankful for the bathroom attached to the master bedroom. After freshening up, you put on thin long sleeve shirt that you tucked into some boyfriend jeans and paired the outfit with some black ankle booties. Touching up your make up and throwing your hair into a slightly messy pony, you stopped when you noticed your necklace, the cherry blossom one. You knew instantly it would pull the outfit together and add a little pop of color, so you carefully latched it behind your neck and smiled at your reflection. Internally you exploding with excitement, but you wanted to appear calm so you took a deep breath before going back into the main area of your apartment.
“Alright, I’m ready.”
“You clean up nicely.” Hwitaek patted your head as he stood up. “Let’s pile into my car.”
“Let me put my stuff in my car, then I’m ready.” Jinho picked up his backpack and went out first.
“Let’s go get drunk!” Hyojong cheered, throwing his arm around your shoulders as he lead to towards the door.
“Jong, no.” You laughed.
“(Y/N), yes!” Hyojong countered, dragging you with him.
Before you knew it you were greeting the other guys at the restaurant getting wedged between Hongseok and Hyojong, because Jinho took the seat on the other side of Hongseok. Conversation started up immediately. Food was ordered, drinks were poured and laughter ensued. You were listening to what everyone had been up to recently, knowing you were behind on all their lives when the attention was shifted to you.
“Noona, why haven’t you come to see us in so long?” Hyunggu, who sat across from you whined.
“I’ve been working on getting back to normal, Gu.” You answered honestly. “There was a lot to used to after I woke up.”
“But we were part of your normal life.”
“Just life, not normal. We’re anything but normal.” Shinwon mused, taking a sip of his drink.
“Still!” Hyunggu made a face. “Having to deal with all the hyungs without you sucks.” You laughed as Hyunggu dodged a swat from Hwitaek.
“I promise from now on I’ll be around more.” You smiled, missing all this more than you realized.
“Good! Maybe then Hyung will shut up about you.” Wooseok mumbled from beside Hyunggu, who also dodged a swat from Hwitaek.
“Hyung?” You muttered, “Who talks about me?”
“We all do.” Hwitaek threw in quickly, you watch his eyes dart to yourself then where Hongseok, Jinho, and half the group was sitting.
Changgu quickly grabbed the group’s attention and you sat quietly trying not to think too much about Wooseok’s comment.
“Is everything okay?”
“Yea.” You looked up from your plate to the voice, Hongseok’s face being so close made you suck in a breath. “I’m fine, long day at work.” You added quickly.
“If you are tired you didn’t have to come, resting is much more important.”
“I got Taek & Jong to help clean the shop today, it was a good trade. ‘Sides it’s nice to get to really hang out with you, I’ve heard so much about you.” You smiled at Hongseok.
You noticed his flushed face just before he nodded and turned towards Jinho quickly. You watched Jinho look over at Hongseok before turning him back towards you.
“It’s good to get to see you too.” He mumbled, “Hyung talks about you a lot.”
That statement pulled your attention past Hongseok towards Jinho who looked as surprised as you did.
“Not that much.” He shook his hand in front of you.
“Actually, Hyung has been trying to s---” Hyunggu was shushed by Hwitaek shoving food in his mouth and covering it with his hand. You heard them mumbled back and forth but you couldn’t understand it.
“Hmm, okay.” You try to ignore the aching questions wanting to tumble out of your mouth when Hyojong’s smirk catches your attention.
That smirk is a forewarning of one of two things, either something seriously stupid or something that going to put you in a very interesting position, you were hoping for the first honestly. You could deal with Hyojong’s stupidity, that was easy. However, the situations you normally found yourself in with Hyojong at the forefront always left you questioning the friendship with everyone but Jinho.
“Since we’re basically done here, let’s figure out who’s paying and move onto karaoke.”
“I’m paying for what I ordered, I’m not falling for that lame ass trick again.” You grumbled, remembering playing into Hyojong’s hand last time and shelling out over $100 for dinner.
“Hey, I apologized for that!” Hyojong defended. “Plus, we all paid you back!”
“It was a dumb joke.” Changgu sided with you, sticking his tongue out at his hyung.
“It was mean.” Yuto agreed, siding with you as well.
“If the maknaes side with you, it’s cheating because they like you more.” Hyojong pouted.
“If you weren’t such a prankster maybe they’d like you.” You shrugged, casually sipping from your glass of coke.
“We’ve already figured it out Jong.” Hwitaek said, motioning between himself, Jinho and Hongseok. “We decided to split the bill but you’re welcome to help since you always skip out on it.” Jinho added, cutting his glare to his younger friend who much to your pleasure got flustered.
“Yea, yea, yea.” Hyojong groaned moving to look at the bill and pull the necessary bills out of his wallet. “I’m chipping in in honor of (Y/N) and Hongseok joining us tonight.”
His smirk was enough to tell you that there was something behind his words. You watched him carefully while your four older friends split the bill and paid. The younger ones and you pulled together a decent tip considering there were 11 people on the table and everyone left the restaurant as quickly and quietly as the group could.
“Are we still on for karaoke?” Shinwon asked, walking ahead of the group and turning to face the rest of the group. “Because it’s such a pretty night I’d rather go to Han River!”
“I agree!” Hyunggu, who was in the middle of the group, backtracked to you and latched onto your arm. “Can we (Y/N)?”
Gawking at him for a second you looked up from you spot next to Jinho and Hongseok at the back of the to see everyone waiting for your answer.
“I don’t care, why is everyone looking at me?”
“To celebrate you leaving your apartment,” Hyojong side steps your swing at him, “We’re giving the power to decide to you.”
You watched them all suspiciously, they’d been extra sweet to you all of dinner which sent off the warning bells.
“Okay, if you say so. Let’s go to Han River than.” Hyunggu cheered and skipped back to Yuto and Wooseok.
You had luckily eaten only a few blocks from Han River and started journey towards the closest park along the river. You thought about the coincidence a decided they had planned it but you didn’t know why. Jinho looped him arm through yours and pulled you from your thoughts.
“It’s so nice to be surrounded by all my friends.” Jinho stressed ‘all’ and tugged you into him a bit. “Seokkie is finishing college here, you’re finally back with the gang. It’s all going well now.” Jinho beamed, you noticed his arm was looped with Hongseok’s as well.
“I guess I’m glad you guys forced me out tonight.” You admitted, you looked between the two guys and flushed when you saw the way Hongseok was looking at you.
“Yea?” Jinho asked, oblivious to how flushed the two of you were.
“Yea.” You nodded, locking eyes with Jinho knowing that Hongseok was still staring, you could feel his stare. “It’s been fun and I really have missed everyone.” You looked up at Hongseok for a few seconds. “And it’s been nice getting to know you Hongseok.” You added quietly.
Subconsciously you started to move the charm of your necklace back and forth on the thread, it was a nervous habit you had picked up since you woke up from your coma. Hongseok watched the movement, his eyes fixed on your necklace. Since he saw you in the hospital the first time, he couldn’t get it out of his head. He felt like he’s seen it before. Whenever he saw it this warmth swelled in his chest and made him want to explode with happy emotions before it was all torn away. He felt like air had been knocked out of him when he looked at you and apologized. You felt like he had known you his whole life but he had never met you before that day. When he saw Jinho next, he was freaking out that you had woken up. Jinho was so shaken up he cried to Hongseok the whole day.
When Hongseok found out you were Jinho’s best friend he felt like fate had a hand in this. Little did he know he was one-hundred percent correct. When he had gotten to know the rest of Jinho’s friends over the last few months and he heard more and more about you he fell more in love with you. Your kind heart, your caring nature, your ability to put every one of the guys in their place regardless of age, your irrefutable control over any of the dumb situations the group of friends found themselves in. He’d grown to love all of you even before he had really met you. And now, being this close to you, getting the talk to you himself it sent his heart into overdrive.
On top of all that the mystery behind your necklace was driving him crazy. Every time he looked at it for too long his body could barely contain the various emotions rushing through him. There was something about the cherry blossoms in the pendent that made him warm, but then it faded and left him ice cold.
He had been so deep in his head that Hongseok didn’t noticed the group had arrived at the park until Jinho yanked his arm and brought his face to Jinho’s level.
“You can at least pretend that you’re listening to me.” Jinho pouted before grabbing your hand and tugging you towards the swings.
“Jinho, what?” Hongseok shook his head and ended up watching you in awe as you jogged behind Jinho. The two of you took over the two swings in the middle leaving one on each side open. Hongseok moved towards the swings when Yanan stole the swing next to Jinho and smiled at Hongseok before Changgu started pushing him on the swing.
“Seriously you guys, please don’t do anything stupid or teach the few kids here anything bad.” Hongseok heard you laughed, your swing barely moving as you were watching the younger guys act a fool.
“Need a push?” Hongseok motioned towards you.
“Sure, thanks.” You felt your cheeks warm as he moved to stand behind you. A few seconds later you felt his fingers brush your hips as he grabbed the swing and walked you back a few steps before sending you forward. After a few pushes where his hands rested on your lower back for a few seconds he sat on the swing beside you and kicked off himself.
The two of you swung in comfortable silence before Hyojong called Jinho over to where him and Hwitaek where climbing on the jungle gym. Yanan soon ran off to the soccer/football field where Changgu, Hyunggu, Yuto, Wooseok, and Shinwon had found a ball and were kicking it back and forth. Before you realized it the two of you were alone. You peeked over at Hongseok to see him casually swinging and watching the group on the jungle gym. When you followed his eyesight you need fell out of the swing.
“JONG GET DOWN!” You yelped, watching him trying to walk across the top of the monkey bars. “YOUR ARM JUST HEALED FROM YOUR LAST DUMBASS FALL.” Hwitaek quickly yanked Hyojong back to the platform before he could fall and waved you off, trying to play it off.
“I swear, they’re going to kill me one day.”
“You take good care of them.”
“Someone has to.” You smiled to yourself, “They’re just a bunch of dumb kids trying to live their best lives.” you shrugged as your swinging started to slow down.
“Aren’t you too?” Hongseok sent you a look.
“Me too what?” You stopped your swing to look fully at Hongseok.
“Aren’t you a dumb kid just trying to live your best life too?” His smile told you he was only partially joking.
“I mean, yeah but after what happened it feels like something is missing and I don’t know what it is.” You focused on your feet as you toed the dirt under the swing. “I woke up missing something and I’ve felt that way every day for the last six months.” You shrugged.
“What do you mean?” Hongseok wanted to know more.
“How do I explain this…?” You asked the air around you. “I missed six months of my life but I feel like I didn’t, like I was busy the whole time I was gone.” You rubbed the back of your neck, the thread of your necklace coming to mind. “I even woke up with this in my possession, I didn’t own this before.” You removed the necklace and held it out for Hongseok to look at it. “Neither of my parents bought it for me, Jinho didn’t gift it to me, I just woke up owning this necklace.”
Hongseok hesitantly held his hand out for the necklace. You turned your hand and gently placed it in his hand, a shock starting in your hand and coursing through your body. You jerked your hand back and noticed Hongseok did the same with the necklace hooked on one of his fingers.
“Did you feel that?” You asked, your hand resting over your racing heart.
“Ye-yea.” He nodded, staring at the necklace in his hand. “Why do I feel so sad all of a sudden?”
“What?” You couldn’t hide the shock, “You feel sad right now? Because of the necklace?”
“Yea.” You watched tears gather in his eyes as he nodded, his eyes never leaving the cherry blossoms.
“Hongseok.” You whispered standing and moving to stand in front of him. “Why are you crying?” You moved to wipe his tears, your palms against his cheeks and thumbs caressing his cheeks.
“I don’t know.” He tried to laugh his hands resting on yours and stopping your movement.
He looked up at you and it was like you were watching a movie in third person. You saw two people standing a little away from two horses and an older man. The people were hugging, crying, and kissing, you saw some ripple in the distance between some trees. You watched in silence as the young woman parted from the young male and moved towards the ripple. You saw your necklace around her neck. You looked at the young man after the woman disappeared into the ripple and saw him fall to his knees, crying into his hands. The older man sitting atop one of the horses climbed down and beckoned the young man to his feet. The shock left you breathless when the young man looked up to the sky and asked why he was forsaken like this and you saw he looked exactly like Hongseok.
“(Y/N)? Are you okay?” Hongseok had jumped to his feet when you fazed out and was holding you to him, holding you up. “Answer me please.”
“I’m - I’m okay.” You managed, grabbing onto Hongseok tightly, the sudden overwhelming wave of emotion knocking the air out of your lungs.
“Obviously, you’re not, come on.” He practically carried you towards the nearest picnic table and sat you down before kneeling in front of you. “What happened?”
“You’re not gonna believe me.” Your humorless laugh made Hongseok nervous.
He saw something when he held your hands to his face, he saw the two of you in a simple home laying in bed together. The two of you seemed happy and content, he saw the way you looked at him and the way he looked back at you. It felt too real to be a fantasy. Then he saw him gifting you the necklace and the tears that followed. It was confusing and it made his head hurt trying to figure it all out. In that short amount of time it was like he lived a whole other lifetime before he felt you fall into him and pull him from his reverie.
“You’d be surprised, but wait. Here.” He moved your hair to the side and fastened the necklace back around your neck.
The closeness sent your heart into an erratic fit, he was too close and you were too confused. He must have felt the same way because you watched him gulp before looking at your lips. A memory flash of the two of you twisted in bed sheets flashed before your eyes. The pendent around your neck felt hot against the base of your throat. One of Hongseok’s hands was resting on your shoulder and the skin-to-skin contact was burning in the nicest way. Another memory flash of you two walking along a stone path hand-in-hand under lines of cherry blossoms. He moved a hand to rest on your knee in a comforting way. A memory flash of moving into a quaint little house together and spending every moment possible together.
You looked into his eyes to see yourself in them, but not who you are now, who you were. You saw the life you left behind before and what could have been. Overwhelmed you fell forward and rested your head on Hongseok’s shoulder, trying to steady your breathing.
“Hongseok… I saw so much just now.”
“I did too.”
“Do you believe in reincarnation?” You asked after a few moments.
“I think I do now.”
When you sat back and looked at Hongseok everything felt different. He looked different yet the same. You fought with yourself in your mind, do I ask the question or let it be?
“Do you feel like we’ve met before?” Hongseok beat you to it.
“Like in another lifetime?” He nodded, the physical contact between the two of you never changing. He has one hand on your shoulder, the other on your knee, and his full attention on you. “I do.”
“The necklace,” His eyes flashed to it before back to your face, “Does it feel like I’m connected to it?” You nodded. “Can I test a theory?”
“Why not.” You answered in a haze.
With that Hongseok leant forward on one knee and kissed you. The hand on your shoulder moved to your cheek and he pulled you towards him. As if watching a movie a life you didn’t know you had lived before flashed before your eyes. Waking up on the edge of a forest, being found by Hongseok, finding your merchant family, meeting the shamen, falling in love with Hongseok, learning about the rift, leaving Hongseok and returning to the present. It was spend by as if projected onto your eyelids at 10x the speed. You relived a past life in mere seconds before Hongseok broke the kiss, chest heaving and tears in his eyes.
“I knew I’d find you.” He gasped, throwing his arms around your shoulders and pulling you into a bone crushing hug.
“It is you.” Tears spilled from your eyes a moment later. “How is this possible? It was all real?” You started rambling about the past, Hongseok answered every question and held you close to him the whole time.
The rest of your friends were forgotten in your moment of realization of just who was sitting in front of you. As if not believing it, you kept touching Hongseok’s face, trying to wrap your head around what was happening. Everything you remembered, he remembered. Every little detail.
Just as the two of you were calming down and actually trying to digest what just happened a familiar older man stopped by the two of you with two kids tugging at his hands. He looked at the two of you for a moment before smiling.
“Hyunbin, Somin go play, Grandpa will be there shortly.” The kids ran towards the swings you two had previously occupied. “It’s good to see you two found each other in this lifetime.” The older man nodded, “The last few lifetimes were quite sad for the two of you, always just barely meeting before something… unfortunate happened.” He patted Hongseok’s head and your cheek at the same time. “In the last life the two of you were together was short-lived but I knew the universe would bring you two together again. Your love was too pure and too beautiful for it to never happen again.”
“Excuse m-- Shaman?” You gawked, realizing why the older man looked so familiar.
“You were a bit more sharp than Hongseok here, (Y/N).” He laughed, winking at Hongseok. “Take care of each other in this life okay? There’s no guarantee you’ll find one another in the next.” The squeals of his grandkids stole his loving look. “I must get to my grandkids, I was gifted with a long, happy life this time around. I hope the same for you two. May we meet again Mister Hongseok, Miss (Y/N).”
With that, the older man tended to his grandkids and you and Hongseok sat in silence until Jinho, Hwitaek, and Hyojong rushed over.
“Did that old man say something to you? You guys look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
Oh we did, the ghosts of our past lives, you thought.
“No, uh, we kind of confessed our feelings to each other and the older man heard and wished us a long and happy life together.” You answered, threading your fingers through Hongseok’s.
“You two like each other?” Jinho seemed suspicious. “I knew Seokie likes you, but I didn’t know you knew him before this.” Jinho pouted at being left out.
“We’ve actually known each other for a long time.” Hongseok joked, earning a giggle from you.
“Ya know what? I’m not gonna ask, we’ll hear the full story eventually, let’s go play with the kids.” Hwitaek pulled Jinho away by his wrist.
“I know the whole point of today was to hook you two up but this went extremely too well.” He quirked an eyebrow. “I’ll leave it because I love both of you guys, I’m happy you’re together. I hope I’m invited to the wedding.” With that Hyojong ran off to watch the kids play.
“I wish I knew what to say right now.” You turned towards Hongseok. He pulled you to your feet.
“I kept my promise, I never forgot you.” He nuzzled your neck with his face, a warm feeling enveloping you.
“I’m so glad you did.”
“You kept the necklace too.” He was glowing, the love seeping from him.
“I can’t believe it came with me.”
“Me either.” He kissed you quickly. “I can do this again.”
“All you want, as much as you want.” You blushed when the words flew from your mouth.
“We can get married in this life, have a family, grow old together.” He spoke so quickly it was tough to keep up.
“Of course, but we don’t need to rush anything okay?” You held onto him tightly. “Nothing will separate us now.”
Hongseok nodded before kissing you again successfully stealing your breath. He sighed and rested his forehead against yours.
“I still can’t believe I actually found you.”
You sighed as well, content and happy. It felt like your life was on its way to turning around completely. And you were more than ready for the change coming your way.

Wings of Pokemon
Thanks to @qinterwatcher, ive broken the most sacred fandom code ever.
I’ve started giving some of the WoF characters pokemon.
(Keep in mind that i haven’t actually given them full teams yet, because i want to also provide logical reasons as to WHY they would have all the pokemon i chose, so im definitely open to suggestions!)
Clay:
Tropius (A big, friendly, gentle pokemon that grows bananas on it's neck. Come on, why WOULDN'T Clay have this??)
Shuckle (He probably found it in the rainforest kingdom while searching for berries. It's his friend and it holds his berries for him and he loves it. (And also it's literally the most defensive pokemon ever and Clay would definitely have defensive pokemon.))
Teddiursa (A cute and lovable brown bear for a cute and lovable brown dragon. Also, Teddiursa's honey paws are a MUST HAVE for Clay.)
Tsunami:
Gyarados (She caught it in the underground river as a Magikarp, and she was all too happy to put it through intense, rigorous training. Thus, resulting in an angry fish-dragon for an angry fish-dragon.)
Doublade (I was originally gonna give her an Aegislash, but then i thought: "Why have one sword and one shield when you can have TWO SWORDS AND NO SHIELDS TO HOLD YOU BACK?!?)
Samurott (It's a water pokemon with swords and a slew of fighting-type moves, so fuck you.)
Glory:
Slakoth/Slaking (I don't need to explain this.)
Minccino (So, you guys remember how Glory generally dislikes getting dirty? Well, what better pokemon for her to have than one that can constantly keep her clean and enjoy doing it?)
Serperior (There's no way not to draw parallels between Glory and Serperior. Both are sassy and have an attitude, both are royalty, and both are affiliated with the jungle.)
Starflight:
Alakazam (He met it as an Abra after it accidentally teleported into their secret cave. He raised it until it became his ultra-intelligent, loyal companion (and eventually, his seeing-eye))
Metagross (Received as a Beldum from his father. Mastermind had been researching them, and was convinced that they could evolve into extremely powerful pokemon with extremely high brain function. He was right.)
Sunny:
Togekiss (Webs gave Sunny a pokemon egg as a gift while the dragonets were still young. The egg hatched into a Togepi, and it was the very first pokemon the dragonets had ever seen. Sunny doted over it for almost her entire life, and then, the day they finally escaped from the mountain, it evolved into a Togetic in order to protect her from Queen Scarlet. It remained a Togetic for the rest of the Dragonets' adventure, until that fateful day they ended the war. As peace finally came to the dragon tribes, Sunny's faithful pokemon evolved into Togekiss.)
Maractus (A happy, bouncy, musical pokemon she caught on her way to the Scorpion Den.)
Deathbringer:
Accelgor (A good assassin needs a fast, sneaky pokemon to help get the job done.)
Escavalier (A good royal guard needs a strong, steadfast pokemon to help protect his queen.)
Zoroark (A sly, devious trickster for a sly, devious trickster. Illusions would REALLY help Deathbringer with his assignments.)
Moonwatcher:
Bayleef (Moon's first pokemon. She met it in the rainforest when she was young, and the gentle pokemon's leaf gives off a fragrance that helps relieve Moon's frequent headaches and pains. A must-have for her.)
Xatu (Moon didn't find this pokemon; IT found HER. It could see her futures, and it wanted to try to warn her, but it couldn't. So, it settled on becoming her companion instead.)
Sigilyph (It came to her after she arrived at Jabe Mountain Academy. It had a... very odd interest in her. And not long after it started following her around, she started hearing a voice in her head...)
Winter:
Glalie (Winter caught it as a Snorunt, thinking it was a little scavenger. Winter's love for scavengers compelled him to raise the Snorunt until it became a powerful Glalie.)
Tyrogue (Another scavenger-like pokemon that Winter was fascinated by. He was kind of endeared by it's feisty nature, and was aware that it was capable of evolving into a slew of different scavenger-like pokemon as well.)
Yamask (Like the previous two, Winter only caught it because of it's relation to scavengers. But this time, the reason was a tad bit more..... sad. You can probably imagine why....)
Peril:
Magcargo (It's skin his hotter than the surface of the sun. There is no better pokemon for her.)
Darmanitan (Peril’s raging fire monkey who frequently activaes it’s Zen Mode ability in order to help Peril keep her cool.)
Turtle:
Wishiwashi (Don't underestimate Turtle, and DON'T underestimate his pokemon. You know that they're both much stronger than they seem.)
Slowbro (Turtle found it on the beach as a Slowpoke. All of his brothers teased him for catching such a slow and pathetic pokemon, and then teased him more when it evolved into a Slowbro instead or a Slowking. But then, one day, Turtle found a strange, rainbow colored stone at the bottom of a trench.... ....and, out of spite, he enchanted it. And used it on his Slowbro. And caused it to evolve again.)
Qibli:
Marowak (A pokemon that lost it's mother, and a young dragon who desperately wanted to be loved by his own. They make a really damn good team.)
Skarmory (He caught it in order to impress Thorn, and he uses it as a member of her new royal guard. Whenever it sheds it's blade-like feathers, Qibli stores them for later use.)
Darkstalker:
Absol (It's followed him since the day he was conceived. He captured it two years before he set his "plan" in action, and within that time, he enchanted it with everlasting life, like his own. He isn't sure if it's truly loyal to him or not, but it's always been his companion, and for over five-thousand years, it awaited his return.)
Honchkrow (It landed on his shoulder as a Murkrow the day he created the enchanted scroll. He captured it and evolved it almost immediately, thinking it would be a fitting pokemon for him to have. It was also given everlasting life, like the Absol.)
Golurk (It started out as a sculpture that was built by a raving scavenger enthusiast 5,000 years ago. It is unknown how or why it came to "life", but it became a guardian/sentinel that was tasked with defending the Nightwing kingdom. However, it REMAINED in the kingdom long after the Nightwings abandoned it, and it waited there for 5,000 years. Until Darkstalker showed up. And officially captured it.)
Sigilyph (One of the twelve Sigilyph created by Darkstalker himself as a means of protecting his tribe, this one in particular had INCREDIBLE foresight capabilities, and it acted as his personal assistant when planing his future actions. It's been loyal to him for it's entire existence, and it patiently awaited his return, always flying around Jade Mountain. For 5,000 years. Until it met Moonwatcher.)
