i have been wondering if you also believe Athanasia fits in the MBTI of ENFJ?
To quote Spoon,
Tumblr media
This makes me a little sad because Carrotoon had an exhibition where they listed the MBTI types of some of their FLs and Athy wasn't included
Lmao but seriously speaking, I'm not too sure. What I feel more strongly about is that I don't think Athy is an extrovert. I think she acts like it in her princess-persona, but she isn't actually someone who loves going out or gets energized from social interactions. Athy's main hobbies are reading and learning, she has a single close friend (Lucas) and doesn't seem to wish having more, and gets exhausted from her social obligations with the noble ladies. And, as Roger out of all people notes, she isn't someone that opens her heart to others very easily.
Reading a bit about this MBTI thingy to answer your question,
"Sensing (S) – Intuition (N). People who prefer sensing tend to pay a great deal of attention to reality, particularly to what they can learn from their own senses. They tend to focus on facts and details and enjoy getting hands-on experience. Those who prefer intuition pay more attention to things like patterns and impressions. They enjoy thinking about possibilities, imagining the future, and abstract theories."
I think Athy is a very "I won't believe it unless I see it" person, and she is very rational, maybe to a fault. It took her so long pick up the signs of how much Claude loves her (sure, she knew he had "some affection" for her, but couldn't see the extent of it) or Lucas' romantic feelings for her. To me, she seems to follow what she perceives as facts much more than her intuition.
"Thinking (T) – Feeling (F). This scale focuses on how people make decisions based on the information that they gathered from their sensing or intuition functions. People who prefer thinking place a greater emphasis on facts and objective data. They tend to be consistent, logical, and impersonal when weighing a decision. Those who prefer feeling are more likely to consider people and emotions when arriving at a conclusion."
Athy has a little bit of both, but she definitely prioritizes others' feelings and emotions when taking decisions. Others' feelings and wellbeing were the very reasons why she pushed herself so far and suffered so much throughout the story, namely Claude's, Jennette's, and maybe even Anastasius' in some way.
"Judging (J) – Perceiving (P). The final scale involves how people tend to deal with the outside world. Those who lean toward judging prefer structure and firm decisions. People who lean toward perceiving are more open, flexible, and adaptable. These two tendencies interact with the other scales."
Athy strikes me more of a Judging type, as she does prefer structure and decision making. And I don't think she is open or flexible at all, in fact, she is quite stubborn.
So, in conclusion, I think Athy would be an... ISFJ?

Kinda checks out, I think.
