Fighting the temptation to pretend to be a different anon and ask for another character because that would be greedy but on the other hand I'm so obsessed with your redesigns I would be thrilled to see you do any character. Like you could pick someone who was a background character in one scene and I'd be like groundbreaking amazing I'm so invested my new favourite blorbo. Your take on Mavis especially is so good, it's given her character such complexity and interest I wish I could be watching your fairy tail rn!! Anyway hope you're having a nice day!
Thank you! This is really sweet to hear! Mavis was a design I'd been dragging my feet on actually making since 2022 but I'm glad people are liking how she turned out!
I think I'm largely so focused on the fairy tail guild itself due to that desperation for everyone to have a story that was never fulfilled (you should've seen my reaction after the 1 year timeskip when I thought we'd get arcs for each guild member to get screentime only to be jumpscared by a panel with everyone reunited). Often I'll ask "what do people want to see" because I like hearing what characters people latch onto that they want to see altered or maybe given more attention.
Everyone has been very sweet and I love seeing comments people make in the tags. It makes me day and so do asks like this.
Thank you, hope you have a good one to!

New Releases 7/24/27
Happy New Release Day!
In Books --The Backstagers volume 1 by James Tynion IV and illustrated by Rian Sygh “All the world’s a stage...but what happens behind the curtain is pure magic literally! When Jory transfers to an all-boys private high school, he is taken in by the only ones who don’t treat him like a new kid, the lowly stage crew known as the Backstagers. Not only does he gain great, lifetime friends, Jory is also introduced to an entire magical world that lives beyond the curtain. With the unpredictable twists and turns of the underground world, the Backstagers venture into the unknown, determined to put together the best play their high school has ever seen.”
I love everything about this. I hope it’ll be as good as it sounds. I mean, a magical boy band. Or at least a boy band that will travel to a magical world. What’s not to like.
--Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody The Gomorrah Festival is a traveling carnival of debauchery, catering to the strangest of dreams and desires. Sorina has spent most of her life on the borders of the festival as an illusion-worker, the only one to be born in hundreds of years. She creates illusions that you can see, feel and touch, that even have personalities. Sorina’s creations are like her family even though she knows that they are not truly real. At least until one of them is murdered. Desperate to save her family Sorina will venture into the most sinister corners of the Festival to unravel the horrifying truth.
I started thinking about Cirque de Freak by Darren Shan the moment I read the description. Purely because of a creepy carnival. I’ve never read that series by him but I have read a few books of his series The Demonata.
I’m really enjoying Sorina’s illusion powers. I like how she can make them touchable. I’m already debating if she might somehow be summoning her ancestors, maybe even pulling people from other dimensions, or just being so creative that she can create almost anything and make it real. Or even unknowingly putting a bit of herself into each creation, giving them life that they may grow and develop on their own. Either way it sounds like it would be pretty good. I’m curious to see what all powers might reside deeper in the carnival. And just what kind of power is able to kill illusions.
--Descending Stories: Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju volume 2 by Haruko Kumota Yotaro has been accepted as Yakumo’s apprentice and a member of his household. Taking in this young man forces Yakumo to confront his past and promises that were left unfulfilled. He thinks of his friend and rival, Sukeroku. He remembers growing up in a Japan changing after the war. And of a woman named Miyokichi.
The second volume of the manga that the hit anime of the same name is based on. Although this series is about Yotaro and Konatsu (a woman who would like to perform rakugo but is stopped by her legal guardian; Yakumo, because he believes in the old style that prevents woman from peforming rakugo) learning rakugo and performing. It is also a tale of Yakumo as he confronts his past.
--Fairy Tail volume 61 by Hiro Mashima “The meaning of family. As the most powerful wizards of Fairy Tail face off against the remaining members of The Twelve, their hearts, relationships, and skills will be put to the test. The battle between Erza and Irene reaches an emotional conclusion, Gray shows how far he’s willing to go to save his dearest friends, and the love of a father sparks a shocking revelation from August. As Natsu and Zeref’s showdown approaches, both enemies and friends must ask themselves who their true family is!”
Honestly, I have fallen behind on Fairy Tail. The last volume I read was 54. I’m slowly trying to catch back up. It’s not that I don’t like the series anymore, although I don’t know if I could still call it one of my top current favorites. I had to cut back due to when I left one of my part-time jobs. Although the one I kept had fewer hours, it allowed me to focus on college and my homework more. I don’t really know what is going on currently, except for the fact that it is near the end of the final arc. I want to be all caught up by the time the final volume; 63, comes out.
--First We Were IV by Alexandra Sirowy “It started for pranks, fun, and forever memories. A secret society - for the four of us. The rules: Never Lie. Never tell. Love each other. We made the pledge and danced under the blood moon on the meteorite in the orchard. In the spot we found the dead girl five years earlier. And discovered the ancient drawings way before that. Nothing could break the four of us apart - I thought. But then, others wanted in. Our seaside town had secrets. History. We wanted revenge. We broke the rules. We lied. We told. We loved each other too much, not enough, and in ways we weren’t supposed to. Our invention ratcheted out of control. What started as a secret society, ended as justice. Revenge. Death. Rebellion.”
The first time I looked this book up, I wasn’t too crazy. Labeled it as a maybe. I don’t know if Goodreads had a different description or if I just liked it more the second time around. It sounds like it could be a pretty good mystery. My guess right now, is that by creating IV they might have gotten the idea from a old group who called themselves the same. And somehow in the process maybe committed some kind of magic ritual that maybe activated some old ghosts from the previous group. I hope it has something to do with an ancient civilization.
--Generation Witch volume 1 by Isaki Uta One percent of the population is made up of witches. Some look up to witches, some envy them. But these abilities can sometimes be more of a curse than a blessing, as any witch knows. Growing up requires a lot of luck and effort for a teenager, so what happens when you throw spirits, magic, and broomsticks into the mix?
I couldn’t really find any information regarding this manga other than the description. It appears to be pretty new. It sounds like a cute coming of age story and it kind of makes me think of Flying Witch; which I have neither seen nor read but I would like to, and Kiki’s Delivery Service. In terms of a young witch trying to learn her craft throughout her day to day life.
--Strange Practice (paperback) by Vivian Shaw Greta Helsing uses her family’s highly specialized, and highly peculiar, medical practice as a doctor to the undead. Keeping the supernatural community not-alive in London has been the Helsing’s specialty for generations. She treats vocal strain in banshees, arthritis in barrow-wights, and entropy in mummies. It’s a quiet, supernatural-adjacent life Greta’s been groomed into since childhood. Quiet until a group of murderous monks appears, killing human and undead Londoners. It’s up to Greta to use her unusual skills to stop the cult if she hopes to save her practice and her life.
I’m a fan of seeing supernatural creatures just trying to live their lives. Where not all of them are necessarily evil. Some just want to live. I’m gonna point the blame at Inuyasha on this one cause I think that’s the first place I ever ran across the idea of not all monsters are evil. I think. Plus, I just like seeing the twist of a Helsing helping supernatural creatures instead of hunting them.
In Movies --Gifted A story of a man raising his very intelligent niece after her mother died so that she may live an ordinary life. His mother finds out where they live, believes her granddaughter’s talents are being wasted, and tries to gain custody of her.
It was a really cute story starring Chris Evans. And Mckenna Grace was adorable as Mary. I loved their characters relationship in the film. It was a very touching movie.
--Ghost in the Shell This entry will contain some spoilers at the end about the end of the movie. You have been warned.
The live action adaptation of the amazing manga, anime film, and anime series. On IMDb the description of the live action version is as follows: “In the near future, Major is the first of her kind: A human saved from a terrible crash, who is cyber-enhanced to be a perfect soldier devoted to stopping the world’s most dangerous criminals”
Really just putting this up because I’ll be getting it someday to be able to finish my collection. That’s about it. The effects of this movie were very well done. I really appreciated the fact that there were references to each form of this series. I remember seeing scenes that I know were only in the manga, some scenes that were in the original film, some scenes from S.A.C., and some nods to Arise. I had some issues with what they did to the story. I love GitS. The anime is easily one of my top favorites and I have a lot of respect and love towards Major Motoko Kusanagi. I tried my very best to see the movie as its own universe. Easy enough since each form has been its own universe. But there were just some things here and there that I couldn’t get past. Which I could go into all the details but that should probably be on a post more dedicated to it. But I will mention that I was slightly disappointed that she was not shot in the head at the end. In each other version, that happened at least once. And they ruined my OTP. Due to plot, I gathered that the Major is really aged somewhere between 16 and 18. While Batou looks like he’s in his 30′s. I can’t approve of it. They ruined my ship in this version and for that I will never forgive them.

When Coincidence Becomes Fate: Part III
One of them is a good-spirited, clumsy girl, fallen from old money into a lowly waitress. The other one is a mischievous, out-going man, lifted from the slums into one of the most powerful men in Fiore. When a chance encounter brings them together, they have to decide whether Fate has a sense of humor or a bone to pick with them.
A/N: On to Chapter 3, and I was beyond horribly late! I’m so sorry and I apologize profusely to those who actually read my little drabbles! I’m still open to suggestions, constructive criticism, and comments ^-^ Any hate will be unappreciated and blocked so please continue to keep in mind that this is my first time! For those just seeing this, I am posting the link to the first and second chappies so you won’t miss out on anything! Also, I should’ve noted this at the beginning but I am rating this story T for teens and above -for some mild language, crude humor, and some inappropriateness- simply because I refuse to write smut in my first story /.\
Link: Chap. 1 Chap. 2
P.S. Please note, I have no beta to check this for me so if I make any spelling or grammar mistakes, please forgive me! P.P.S. I own nothing except for the story itself and a couple of OC’s. All characters belong to Hiro Mashima, Lord of the Fairy Tail.
Previously:
When she woke up, she was in her room above the cafe, tucked in carefully and with a cold, wet towel across her forehead. Levy must have come up to take care of her. But, she tried to remember. How did she get me up here? There was no getting around the nagging suspicion that someone who wasn’t Gajeel, or her short, elderly employer, had carried her up to her bed. She felt warm and, remembering Gajeel’s cousin -and the familiar looking pink hair- a soft blush crept into her cheeks. What am I thinking? It couldn’t possibly have been him… Right?
All had gone completely black again. When she finally opened her eyes once again, it was late early evening and she had absolutely no memory about what had happened.
... Where am I..?
She sat up slowly, feeling a strong pressure building up in the back of her head and around her temples.
OW! What the...?
She clenched her eyes shut and grit her teeth together against the pain that was throbbing consistently. There was no remembering why she was in such pain, or in bed, during work hours, no less! Her boss was so going to read her the riot act.
Where’s Levy? She should’ve woken me up a long time ago!
With treacherous thoughts about her best friend in mind, she struggled to get up, only to find that her legs wouldn’t cooperate. A second attempt brought her no closer to getting up, so she did the smartest thing and rubbed her limbs back to life.
If mental suggesting won’t do the trick, a little manual labor won’t kill me.
After getting a moving response from her legs, she rose wearily and walked unsteadily to the restroom, eager to start the day. It wasn’t until she looked into the mirror that she realized she was already dressed in her uniform. She splashed some water over her pallid countenance in an attempt to bring some life back into her cheeks while she pondered the weirdness of it all.
Of all the strangest... If I’m already dressed, then what happened to the whole day?!
Jaded by the feeling of exhaustion, both emotionally and mentally, she hoped Mr. Yajima wouldn’t be too harsh with her, considering she worked her hardest and always tried to be helpful to the old man, stinted as he was by other employees’ help, excepting Levy, of course. If only she could remember what on earth had...
A flash of pink darted into her mind’s eye and she froze.
Pink... like my family crest? Where did I see it...?
“I wonder if Lu-chan’s alright, I’ve never seen her like that before. It was as if she’d seen a ghost!” Levy couldn’t keep a tear from straying.
Mr. Yajima, couldn’t help but pat Levy affectionately on the head as he responded, “Don’t worry about her, young lady; that girl has as stout a personality as any I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been around for quite some time now!”
Levy could’t help smiling as she sniffled out and said, “I hope you’re right, sir, but I can’t help worrying. I feel like something Gajeel said may have triggered her emotionally, or something.”
“All we can do is hope that when she wakes up, she feels better and can relax from her earlier fright. Whatever it was, she will overcome it as she has everything else. She’s stronger than she thinks.” Mr. Yajima thought fondly about his young, blonde waitress as he reminisced about the day both girls had begun working in his little restaurant.
“Gajeel... how long have you been going to that cafe for?”
“A couple years now, Salamander. Why?”
“I don’t know, I was just wondering if that girl has ever done that before. You know, flat out faint at the sight of you -seeing as you don’t have THAT ugly a mug on ya.” He couldn’t help but let some of his sarcasm slip through his concerned façade.
“Why you..!” Gajeel actually growled in his attempt to prove himself a threat, “For your information -asshole!- Bunny Girl has never done that before when I’m around, so the most likely conclusion would be, she fainted after seeing your disgustingly PINK hair!” He smirked in victory for his well-delivered taunt.
Which was short-lived once he realized his cousin was, again, lost in thought.
Only one way to get his attention..
“Hey, Nats, what’s on your mind?”
He pretended to flinch as his cousin turned around, a dark look in his eyes.
“Don’t. Call. Me. That!”
Gajeel smirked, having gotten his way, and answered sarcastically, “I’m sorry, but you wouldn’t respond to Mighty Salamander so I thought you’d love the cutesy name better!”
He got a punch in the gut in response, which of course, led to a mini-brawl, but it didn’t matter. Gajeel only hoped that letting out some steam would help his cousin relax some more after going through a traumatizing moment earlier that afternoon.
Hope Bunny Girl’s up and kicking again...
Two inches away, his cousin still felt the intensity of having carried the woman of his dreams up a flight of stairs after she had collapsed into unconsciousness. His first move, of course, was to panic until a little blue-haired coworker of hers yelled at him to check her pulse and, once she’d been reported alive, pick her up and carry her to her room upstairs.
She had been warm to the touch, though her face seemed to say otherwise. Her hair was still golden and she was as beautiful as he had ever seen and remembered her. Her fair skin said little about her status as a waitress now; she still resembled nobility, no matter what she wore. And all he could do as he settled her into her blankets was kneel before her, hold onto her hand, the one with her family’s crest still emblazoned on it, and lift it to his lips softly as he whispered to her, “I thought I’d lost you. I won’t allow you to leave again. We may have switched positions in life but I refuse to let you be alone anymore.”
He was brought back to the present by a rather heavy swat on the back from his cousin.
OW! Either I’ve been slacking off on my workouts, or Metalhead has been adding more time to his weight training!
“Oy, Salamander, seriously, what’s so important ya can’t hear me??” Gajeel asked, a little miffed his favorite cousin wasn’t listening to him.
“Sorry, just worried about the girl from earlier. I hope you didn’t kill her from how scary-looking you are.” He made a face and stuck his tongue out with glee.
Gajeel sighed and couldn’t help grinning. His cousin would never grow up, despite having had several years in the business and multitudinous times to settle down and have a normal life; however, he wouldn’t have it. The Salamander was never interested in anyone, never went on a second date with the same girl, but it wasn’t because he was a player. He was simply being polite when asked out. He never found the woman he wanted to go out with again. So to hear him concerned about a female he’d only just met that day intrigued Gajeel enough to poke fun at his cousin’s expense.
“She was really cute, huh? Though her friend Levy seems more fun than that Bunny Girl.”
He chuckled seeing his cousin go red and hide his face behind his bangs. The only other time he’d reacted that way was when he was so much younger, about ten years old, and he was in love with another little girl, someone he called a weirdo and who he would tease into a fury. Whenever Gajeel asked about her, he would react as he had now, face down, cheeks bright enough that matched his near crimson hair, and he’d go silent. Curious as to why, but not curious enough, Gajeel let it go and simply walked on and changed the subject.
It’d be interesting to see if he finally met someone worth a second date...
