the thing about jackie is that i LIKE that she's dead
#as horrible a thing as that is to say about my favorite character. but it's what makes her so good!#her story is a tragedy not because it was always meant to be one but because they (shauna & the rest of the yelliwjackets) made it one!#she could've lived if only even just one of them had shown her a shred of kindness that night.#would she have made it long enough to be one of the remaining survivors? probably not but we'll never know for sure!#it's about the wasted potential. it's about the fact she died thinking the only people she had left all hated her.#thinking her best friend (THE LOVE OF HER LIFE) hated her. ultimately freezing to death in your sleep is not the worst way to go#especially compared to the various awful ways a lot of the other characters have suffered before death.#no what makes jackie's death particularly horrific is the WHY behind it.#she died not in a heroic effort to try to save everyone. not in an accident. not for sustenance.#she died frozen and alone and for no good reason at all.#jackie taylor#yellowjackets#yj posting#📺 tag#send tweet

i know mapleshade being overused is no hot take in the warriors fandom anymore but you can't imagine my disappointment to find out later in the book that this voice in tigerclaw's head was never simply just his own self criticism but just mapleshade being mean to him for some reason
it would've been so interesting to see that despite how cruel he was to those around him, the one he was cruelest to in the end, was himself - that thistleclaw's brutal treatment really stuck with him in more ways than one, that he considered himself a failure if he did not push his ambitions to their very limits and succeed at what the mentor he both respected and resented failed and would not dare to do.
i also love that despite it's minor failings, this book also gives us a slight layer of nuance to his character - that despite him being a despicable character till the very end, willing and ready to kill and manipulate his way to the very top, there's still a hint of discomfort and remorse at the possibility of his former clanmates dying in the forest fire
he excuses his discomfort to mapleshade as him not being able to destroy them himself, but the horror and dread he feels is evident.
despite us knowing very little about their overall relationship, later on he's relieved to see that his former mate goldenflower is unharmed. given that we're never shown or told of any instances where's they're openly affectionate towards one another and he doesn't technically have any 'need' for her to survive (i say this with the assumption that the only big reason that tigerclaw even had kits to begin with was for a legacy and an ongoing bloodline, not for a happy family and out of sheer undying love for goldenflower), it's bizarrely sweet to me that he finds comfort in knowing that she escaped the fire, along with their daughter tawnykit.
and then, of course, the famous bramblekit scene where fireheart snatches him from the tree and the two barely escape with their lives.
this book, despite showing him committing numerous despicable actions and murder innocent cats in cold blood through his own eyes manages to give tigerclaw just a shred of humanity and care for those he once held close(ish), that despite him denouncing starclan again and again, he still whispers a silent thanks to them for saving the life of his son, that, despite his sheer undying hatred for fireheart, he puts his own pride aside for a brief moment and silently entrusts him with bramblekit's life.
when tigerclaw gave strict orders to the other shadowclan warriors to not follow him into the fire, he did so knowing that they could've seen him at his very worst - his absolute lowest point. he knew there was a large possibility that he could've easily been witness to the violent ends of his former mate and kits and lost himself there and then and potentially (in his eyes) lost the respect of his new clanmates as well, because to him in a sense, caring is a show of weakness, even for him. and idk there's just something weirdly nice about that - that despite how horrible he is there's still some depth and remorse to be found in his character and idk i just think that's neat
#this is in no way a tigerclaw apologist post btw he's a horrible person who's done unforgivable things but i love a villain with nuance man#tigerclaw#tigerstar#warriors#warrior cats#wc#waca#warriors rambles#tigerclaw's fury

It actually doesn't but keep trying to tell yourself that in order to dickride for Decknine. The fact that Max even has it as a choice and then chooses Chloe = showing the importance that Chloe has to Max; that if anything goes into reinforcing their feelings for each other. Yes, Chloe would likely have survivor's guilt that doesn't change her feelings for Max. And "resenting" fuck ALL the fucking way off, cause no the fuck Chloe wouldn't go near that. She handed the fucking choice to Max and what she said is what any non-full of themselves good person would do in advocating for everyone else having more value to the world than themselves. Its not at all accurate, since Chloe's life is just as valuable as anyone else's and even more so for Max. Not a shred of canon material or interviews has EVER said there'd be resentment of any kind. Is there trauma and guilt? Sure, but that does NOT break soul-bonds. The entire LiS1 ordeal was one that either fire-forges/soul-bonds or utterly shatters the bond to an irreparable state; it has been repeatedly stated and shown that it did the former. This being confirmed once again recently by Michel Koch father of LiS who stated that while there might be bumps in the road/rough patches between the two, they'd ALWAYS come back together specifically because of their soul-bond.
Actually no, there's an entire damn story before that decision going back to them being kids together. Also miss my ass with this "cost so many lives" pity party bullshit, I'd easily make the same choice as Max. Once again there is NOT A SHRED of bitterness from Chloe and you trying to suggest there would be shows how little your ass knows the fucking character. The ONLY thing she'd have is survivor's guilt and once again that entire ordeal is one that SOUL-BONDS people. So no it isn't realistic, your dumbass just wants to dickride for Decknine over DontNod; especially now with Michel having stated that Max and Chloe would NEVER break up, were soul-bonded, and even saying that Decknine's version of the characters don't match his. Its a forced ass non-canon thing shoved in because Decknine's narrative team don't like Chloe and wanted to instead push a soft, femmed up, mainstream appealing, lipstick lesbian Chloe knockoff that better fits their preference nvm that Amanda has no chemistry with Max. The LiS comics show how things would actually go between the two as a fan, which the writer for them is, would know.
Not a "trauma bond" (do actually look that word up before tossing it around), soul-bonded. They had their bond tested and it held, thus it NEVER breaking.
Oh wow so your ass truly is just dickriding for Decknine. DE disrespects DontNod, character assassinates & disrespects Chloe as part of Decknine being anti-Chloe, disrespects LGBT+ fans, and has an entire up-own-ass tone to it as if Decknine thinks they're better than DontNod. Which fits with the behind the scenes things that have come out where its mentioned that the narrative team does indeed dislike Chloe (as well as Square) and even called her as a "manic pixie girl", which it utter fucking garbage and disrespectful towards DontNod. They could've had Max and Chloe having an argument over Max not being ready to move forward due to her trauma, where the player is presented with a CHOICE to "fight for the relationship" that leads to a trial separation or not that leads to a full break (still breaks from main canon as defined by Michel but its player choice). Max goes to Caledon to clear her mind, goes through the events there with the focus being on her trauma & no damn new romantic interests to detract from that, she finds closure as a result of the events, and finally meets back up with Chloe ready to go forward TOGETHER. But see that'd require Decknine to actually show respect towards DontNod, LGBT+ fans, player choice, characters, and main canon; instead of taking an up-their-own-ass approach where they try to force on the players their preference of LGBT+ option in Amanda who's the "handsome, well-off, and traditional" one to Chloe's "bad boy". Who cares that players have repeatedly fucking chosen Chloe, cause Decknine knows better.
DE is a fucking trashfire that sits in its own rotting "fix-it-fic" AU branch of the LiS multiverse and I hope it utterly bombs leading to Decknine being kicked off the damn franchise or at least the narrative team behind it being shuffled to bring in actual people that know & respect the characters, the fans, and DontNod.
On the conversation about life is strange double exposure!!! Max and Chloe breaking up makes TOTAL sense (even though it hurts). I mean, after Max chose Chloe over Arcadia Bay, there’s no way Chloe *wasn’t* gonna feel some kind of guilt about it, right? She probably started resenting Max, even if she didn’t mean to, because choosing her literally cost so many lives. And Max? Ugh, you just know she’s been carrying that guilt, too.
Max’s choice to save Chloe over the Bay set the foundation for their whole relationship! Everything they went through after that was built on this massive decision that cost so many lives. It makes total sense that Chloe would grow bitter over time, even if she loved Max. you can’t survive something like that and not be changed, right? And yeah, it sucks because it makes it feel like your choice in the game doesn’t matter, but honestly, this is more realistic. People change when they’re carrying that kind of guilt.
They’re both so messed up from everything. It sucks, but sometimes trauma bonds fall apart when you can’t escape the past. I genuinely don’t understand why people don’t like double exposure!!! The game so far seems so cool and i’m so excited to play the full game when it releases!!!!

All the petty things I hate about fate!winx and their shitty universe/world building because
I'd added most if these in tags of other posts but I'm still so mad lmao
The way characters, Aisha and Mrs Dowling specifically make references to explicitly human or American things like instagram and Harry Potter
These people are from a different dimension for ffs why are they concerned with or are even aware of this very earth-specific shit? Do they teach earth classes at school over there?
I understand not wanting to have them be oblivious so Bloom wouldn't have to explain it to them, but it simply could be ✨omitted✨
Why would you go out of your way to date your work like this lmao ew
Ms. Dowling calling Tinkerbell an air fairy.. I cannot breeve with the stupidity why did they keep that in there
Why is Ms. Dowling.. the headmistress.. teaching classes? Where are the other teachers?
We ended up with a trio of antagonists (I guess you could call them that?) by the end of the season anyway so why not give us the trix, why have the characters play double roles as friends of our protagonists and also the villains/bullies? They clearly wanted a delinquent trio, in which case they could've gender bent the trix if they wanted to keep all the unnecessary sexual tension.
It just feels like the production team was lazy, they didn't want to hire more actors, they didn't want to bother with making the world immersive or lived in or believable at best, they just didn't give enough of a fuck
They wanted to make this show and attatch Winx to it for.. what? Like did you even google the main plot points? The abridged version or sparknotes to get details on the very literal, basic characteristics of our main characters or their roles or the world they inhabit????
It lacks wonder and intrigue.. I mean Bloom moves to another dimension, a school for fairies and we don't see her marvel once at anything.. and that's because she might as well have been in Switzerland because she's in exactly the same environment she would've been in over there anyway.
They could've said Alfea was in Europe and I'd believe it because nothing about the setting makes it feel otherworldly. I'm sorry but I'm not impressed.
Why do the teachers and graduated specialists communicate via facetime ?? In the magic dimension. ??? Why do they text each other and those texts then appear on screen like .. oh look, like a bad netflix teen movie ????? HELLO ??? it's the way technology and magic could've blended in so seamless into the world THE WAY IT WAS ALREADY DONE/SHOWN. Missed opportunity. it just takes you out of it imo every time you see the ugly, bland, gray text bar. Some fucking flavour pls I'm begging
How stupid the specialist must feel clonking around with the skinniest shreds of armor, plastic swords on their backs and battery powered flashlights and cellphones in their bags. R we larping?? I know I'd be laughing and asking why we hadn't already come up with something more effective .. idk like guns. I'm surprised I ain't see one gun in there.
In the beginning Ms. Dowling says some nonsense about fairies having lost the ability to transform to explain why there are no wings, which means they could've transformed before. So are we to assume that this supposed to be set in the time proceeding the original then?? Because something is not adding up with where they should be as a magical society technologically if that's the case
How does the production team want to keep the dark academia vibes with torches lining the walls and also want them to be face timing each other, presumably from miles and miles away in the dark forest???
Pls pick an aesthetic and stick to it everything was so unnecessarily dark. Where do they charge their phones since it's the only device we see that is the slightest bit modern and dont fucking tell me they charge it with magic I will punch you in the face
Why is there only one major monarchy that we are shown? Why are Solaria the only ones contributing to the efforts to defend the school and where is this mysterious battalion we never see lmaoo it's all so bad its laughable.
Is this set in the kingdom of Solaria? And why does the queen of an alleged interdimensional superpower monarchy pull up in black SUVs??????????? Why does she pull up with Andreas?? Is he not the king of Erakleon?? Where are his soldiers and his battalion and just?? Huh!? The world just feels empty like nobody lives here fr
Are we supposed to believe that the specialists get paired up with fairies just as a normal occurence and that they have to 'trust each other' and not because the plot demands it suddenly half way through when all we've seen so far are the fairies doing normalish school and homework, and the specialists outside, being physical everyday all day. This was never even implied that they'd have to work together apart from when we see the faculty as youngins with Rosalind. But even then.. it's like well why are they even together lmao? Is this a special team formed from Rosalind’s protégées? Were they formed after graduating from Alfea or what is this?? Are they the ONLY team of specialist/fairies hunting every single burned one?? What?
Are we now supposed to buy that Musa is being switched to 'support' because that's where her strengths lie and not in combat?? Are we supposed to believe that these girls know hand to hand combat?? When was this established? We see Terra wrapping some baby vines around a dude and I'm sorry is that the practical application of her power? Is this what the fairies are supposed to do once they graduate? Or is it just a switch in curriculum because of the threats outside the barrier?? This is never made clear.
Because if not then what's the point of this?? Why do they suddenly have endless classes together when the expectation was never set for the fairies to be like soldiers or out in the field fighting ?
Where exactly are they supposed to be what was the purpose of including Aster Dell and why is it a joy ride away from Alfea lmao?? Where Bloom is from and also not from?? Plot pls make it make sense
Why are fairies from another dimension vaping or smoking weed?? They are not human so why are they engaging in specifically human vices, yol couldn't come up with anything else to characterize 'delinquents'?? Very lazy very como se dices.. no effort. Nothing a little more spicy yol could invent, at least change the name and some properties holy shit did yol even try ??
So its fairies everywhere, having a lil party in the east wing of a phat castle.. and they are playing beer pong and dressed in t shirts and jeans..
Can you hear me screaming? Can you hear me vibrating with rage?
Not one floating decoration or magical anything in sight. Just purple lights and subpar vibes
Stella's costume design: tragic. I won't discuss further because we don't have the space or time but just know that it was absolutely atrocious and I hated it. Giving very debutante vibes
The entire budget going to that lame transformation sequence that was not a transformation sequence and those horrible, barely-there fire wings
Edgelord bloom and all her fucking leather jackets. Why do 30 yo, white cis men think girls exist in a binary? They could keep her earlier characterization and make her a hothead.. Bloom literally screamed herself into a couple power upgrades in the original come ooonnnn
Let girls be feminine without it being a character flaw what is wrong with yol its 2021. They could make her more mature, more angsty or whatever the hell else and not style her like that
The way Aisha's abilities flipflop between episodes and scenes. Very inconsistent. One minute she's struggling with a drop of water and the next she is moving an entire body of water for her bestie Bloom to fake transform because the plot demands it. Why even add in her struggles at all if you're just going to ignore it?
Why was Stella with them in that scene? She didn't do anything literally.. Aisha pulled the water and she did .. nothing.
Who the fuck is Rosalind? Why would they add her in,, to add nothing to story? The company of light was a thing, they could've plucked one of them hoes to be the antagonist. Why did the winx club need their own Delores Umbridge? Valtor was right there if you wanted an evil educator type character.
The camera work was so bland during the down beats, stagnant and fixed during a fairy party and erratic and ugly and disorienting during the fight scenes
I'm not getting over the fairy party because it was a good opportunity for the production and everyone else to show the differences between where Bloom was and where she is now but instead it just looks like a regular teen high school party?? This could have been set in Switzerland fr.
Everyone's just kind of standing?? You mean to tell me these people are from all different places in the magical dimension and their customs are all the same? They all throw parties like this ??
White and flavorless I am very bored
I guess the main question or takeaway I have is just.. who is this for? Because everyone, including the showrunners keep saying that it's for us, the fans of the original. But apart from the characters sharing some names, there are really no other similarities. So again, who was this supposed to appease or placate or satisfy? Because it sure as hell wasn't the winx club fans.
Overall, this feels very much like something I wrote and probably published on ff.net when I was 13 because I thought girls couldn't be taken seriously if they liked pink, and injected angst into everything that didn't need it and had no idea how to structure scenes or dialogue. It's just bad, objectively and N*tflix will keep making shit like this because apparently some people have bad taste??? Idk yol, be easy
#im never gonna stop i dont care i dont care#and i dont even usually make my own posts i just be reblogging and vibing#but im passionate abt this because he originak was the reason i wanted to learn how to draw#it was the reason i wanted to learn how to write and tell stories#it shaped a lot of shit for me because it was the very first one of its kind id ever seen#i ran home from school to watch it and argued with my friends about who got to be flora#i forced them to make cardboard wings with me and to perform the opening song during a school talent show#thank god we didnt get to perform otherwise we would all have died of embarrassment in hindsight#but ye i just hate to see things that obviously are very dear to a lot of people be treated with such casual indignity and its a disservice#a disservice to the fans and to the people who had probably want to create it as a passion project#to the people who spent hours and hours in rewrites and fanart amazing fanart and post series continuations#no one is saying the original is sacred and cannot be touch#this fandom actively calls out the bullshit rainbow has done and continues to do to the characters we love.. i havent spoken to one fan who#doesnt have an alter dedicated to their downfall. we found a piece of ourselves in these gorls and they were stripped and caricatured and#played for laughs so netfilx can make money and its just very upsetting to see.#so again fuck you brian young fuck you ignio and rainbow and fuck whoever the costume designer was#mine#text#fate winx club#fate: the winx saga#f:tws#winx club

Did I like re:id? Yes. Will I rewatch it? Probably not. I like the games better than anything else Capcom try to do with RE. Yeah, I've seen people ripping ID to shreds and while I think they are definitely overreacting I also think Capcom/Netflix shot themselves in the foot with a misleading promotional campaign and that's why people were angry about the most. One, advertising ID as a series when it's clearly a movie cut up into pieces. I was prepared for like eight one hour episodes, one website even said so, and I know people who took a day off from work because they were going to binge watch it all night. And it ended before their bed time, lol. Two, advertising ID as a Leon and Claire reunion when that reunion lasted two minutes. And they clung to that idea DAYS after the release. They just kept releasing teaser promos with the two you would think the whole story was revolving around their relationship.
I... well, I genuinely love Damnation and Vendetta a lot a lot, and I do like Infinite Darkness too! Degeneration has a few cool scenes but it's definitely the weakest of the movies. and the live action stuff? I just. no. and I am not referring to only the new ones, but also the old movie series, I just do not think live action works well for RE in general. and personally I certainly don't count them as "real" RE :'D but the animated movies (and I do count ID as a movie too lol) are good, I like watching them, and I feel like they do fit the continuity with the games quite nicely! and that being said I haven't been into all the games at all, but of course, games is where this all started and it is and always has been and always will be mainly about the games. that's just how it is.
BUT I do think you are 100% correct about the promotion. they DID promote it as a long series while it is a DAMN MOVIE. and that pissed a lot of people off already before they'd seen a single minute of it. plus the whole advertising it as a Claire and Leon teamup thing was cheating, it's... we saw like 90% of their scenes in the teasers and promo materials??? how is that a good idea in ANYONE'S mind?? they should've interacted more, or they should've promoted it more as their individual stories instead of a team-up. so yeah. you're 100% right. they shot themselves in the foot with promoting it so shittily.
(although, RE8 was promoted as a Chris-centric game, too, although it barely had him for what? half an hour? :'D so they know what the audience wants and they use that for promotion bc it works. it just also leaves a lot of people very, very disappointed)
I am genuinely bummed that we didn't get more Claire and Leon together in ID, and I'm also bummed that they... screwed something up with Claire bc she feels awfully stiff a lot of the time and her expressions are very off sometimes (especially when she lands on Leon on that walkway, urgh, how did they fuck it up that bad???).
but mostly I think the biggest problem with how fandom mistreated ID was that people willfully and purposefully misinterpreted the character motivations and tried to pit them against one another because they can't comprehend that there are actual shades of grey between black and white. it still blows my mind how wrong one can apparently interpret what actually happened.
but yeah. i mean. as bad as ID was advertised? I do think that the fandom could've shown it a little more mercy because c'mon.
