Also headcanon that princess Emma is longsighted but because she's never brought up that words look fuzzy if she keeps a book close to her face she has no idea it's not supposed to be that way, or that when she instinctively brings a book closer because the letters are written too small she's forcing her eyes a lot, and that is why staying on a book for even just half an hour gives her headaches. She's embarrassed about how much time she spends doing it and being such a perfectionists when it comes to 'work', checking books about accounting and reading about laws, that she usually doesn't do it in public, so people don't notice that she instinctively keeps the paper at a "strange" amount of distance (she's embarrassed of her nerd side, do what you want with that).

Kinda like when a nearsighted person doesn't realize this is not how far they are supposed to be able to see until they start school and cannot read what the teacher is writing while everyone else can. She just assumes that's how sight works and that headaches happen because she's dumb (she does know that she has a serious attention-problem though, that some subjects are way harder than they are supposed to be, because she did try to study more at some point and failed)
