shawky doesn't know what to make of this figure in his office. he's never seen him before, but part of him finds a strange familiarity in his presence and tone of voice. clint barton, he said. that's his name. shawky fumbles through his mind on a hunt for a connection or some previous mention of the name or some off-hand conversation, but it never comes. this is a new experience, a stranger in boston to see him. for now, this mysterious guest and his appeal for shawky's help leave the archaeologist too curious to turn him away. he's on the edge of his seat.

"i'd like to know more about this artifact in question before i agree to anything." his office (which is more like a closet in size) is cramped and messy, forcing shawky to carefully maneuver around his desk to join clint at the front. "i heard 'threat to the world' and 'bad things will happen if it ends up in the wrong hands,' but that's just your average archaeological dig. ancient objects, world-ending consequences, curses, spells, the not so neat end-all-be-all thrown down upon me and my team. if you have more information, i'd like to hear it."

now shawky rests against his desk, facing his guest with wide, curious eyes. he fixes his glasses and makes note to study the man's blonde hair, strong shoulders, and amused expression. their height difference is significant, but shawky does his best to pay it no mind. "and i'd also like to know where this artifact will go once i've found it. who's to say you're not the very wrong hands you've warned me about?" his brows twitch upward. "not an accusation, just... not a fan of getting thrown into world-altering situations. you know how it is."
