"help me up!" buzzy clings to the cavernous edge, panicking, eyes blown wide as he prays miriam reaches him in time. the ground caved in beneath him unexpectedly, leaving buzzy dangling and ready to scream as he holds onto the edge of the rock for dear life. "miriam!" another shout. "help!"

It felt like every time Shawky and Buzzy convinced her to come along, something like this happened. Buzzy was there one second and then he was gone, and had he not started screaming, Miriam would have never guessed where he went. “ Hold on! ” She calls back, throwing down her notebook and backpack and running to the cliff he’d fallen off of. “ Take my hand. I’ll pull you up. ” She says, anchoring herself, preparing to take one of his hands with one of hers and then pull him up with both.
