Late night Frozen yogurt

This happens one week after she escaped her dad

Lavender felt guilty about leaving her family behind, she sat on edge of a building and looked down, she missed Brian as he was the one who raised her most, he was basically her older brother, he was her dad's second in command. She felt that she was nothing but a weak pathetic coward, she thought she spotted a familiar glimpse of a blood stained dark yellow sweater but when she fully looked she couldn't see anything. When she heard someone climbing up the fire escape of the building, she quickly got away from the edge and turned to look, she was worried that it would be the ninja, she recognized who climbed up the fire escape it was Brian, she noticed that he was holding two cups of frozen yogurt "how did you find me?" She asked him "I saw you come up here while I was doing a mission for your dad, you looked sad despite being free from him" Brian told her as he handed her a cup of frozen yogurt "I just feel guilty for leaving you and the rest of them" she admitted to him and started eating the frozen yogurt with the spoon that was sticking out of it. Brian chuckled a bit "we don't blame you for escaping, just be careful out here your dad is starting to send his lesser lackeys after you so make sure to watch your back" Brian warned her and sat down on the edge of the building to eat the frozen yogurt, she sat next to him as she kept eating her frozen yogurt. "I'll try to keep myself safe, I'd rather not get dragged back" she told him as she tried to shake away the memories of the last time she escaped from her dad "I've started practicing with my elemental power and I think I'm passing out for less but I can't really tell" she told him, he made sure she saw him reaching for her hand, she grabbed his hand "I've got plans to make sure me and the rest of your dad's inner circle escape" he told her to make her feel better, she said nothing as she finished her frozen yogurt and leaned her head on his shoulder, he smelled safe, she didn't care if some of the blood on his sweater hadn't finished drying properly. Brian leaned his head on her head and the two stayed like that for an hour just feeling safe with each other, for once they were just two normal people. Brian checked the time and carefully got off then climbed down the fire escape, the stinging loneliness had come back as Lavender got up and quickly went back to her apartment making sure that no one followed her home

Lavender woke up at some point on her couch in her apartment, she felt like she had been hit by a car, she checked the time and was surprised to have been out from 8 pm the previous day to 2 pm that day. She groaned softly, she was about to turn on the TV when Brian calmly walked in carrying a lot of grocery bags, he started putting everything away as she sat there feeling guilty for messing up her and his plan. Brian soon finished and handed her a bag of fast food and a cup of Sprite "Look I'm sorry for messing up the plan, I just couldn't hold it back anymore and I don't understand why I'm so angry at him, it wasn't that bad." She told him, he put on Steven Universe and sat next to her "I'm not angry at you I'm very proud that you were able to use your elemental power, but you have some things to work out, your dad was awful to you and I'm gonna help you fully understand why you are mad at him." He told her and lovingly pushed her, he often playfully hurt her but also didn't mind being playfully hurt back as it was all in good fun. Lavender was a bit hesitant to start admitting all the pain she had felt from her dad but she started admitting that every time she messed up she was yelled at and hit. "Lav I don't think you understand how not normal that is, that's abusive and if he loved you he wouldn't hit you" he explained to her "But I deserved those punishments for making mistakes or at least that's what he kept telling me" she told him, "mistakes are something you are supposed to learn from and you're not supposed to be punished for them, you never deserved all that pain and your power is trying to tell you that he hurt you alot, you have to confront him about it" the moment he said that she seemed to start hugging herself "I'm not strong enough to do that" she quickly told him "Lav you are incredibly strong, a lot of people wouldn't have the strength to run away let alone use some money to buy an apartment in Ninjago city to stay away" he hugged her tightly and she cried into his shoulder as she started to understand just how badly she had been treated, Brian was the one who was always there instead of her dad so she decided that Brian was her family, every time she was sick Brian was there, injuries Brian was there to clean them up and patch them up, she realized that Brian was a better dad than her own father. "Your dad now has his lackeys searching everywhere for us so I'm gonna start teaching you how to fight so that way you'll have a fighting chance of beating him"
